@cleozeta happy birthday (& comiserations too)

@Hobbes - congratulations on your news. You must be over the moon! x

It looks like Ov day will be in the
next day or so and obviously it's Valentine's day Wink however I am in the throes of yet another stinking cold (thanks DD) so romance and passion is most definitely not first of my list of things to do tonight.

KristieP2018 · 14/02/2019 08:50

Good Thursday @Cleozeta

42 has been an ok year so hope yours is good!

Still no signs of af here. Had a horrible pinching/stabbing pain in my left lower side (pelvic) when trying to go to sleep last night. Took my breath away. More nausea today but it’s fine just now. Looking forward to date night with the husband tonight.

How’s everyone?

littlemimosa · 14/02/2019 09:29

Cleo - birthday commiserations. Totally understand your feelings. I'm 43 soon and dreading it. Despite that, I hope you have an ok day and you get spoilt a bit.

Not a good day for me. Am still in limbo land. No ovulation signs at all, (CD20 ish) in fact I'm having mild menopausal symptoms, dry eys, dry nose, dry skin, dry vag - it's horrid. I'm on the verge of tears all the time and although the hot flashes aren't exactly here i feel too warm. Something is 'off' with my thermostat, esp at night. Ugh i want to curl up and die. I'm too young for this. Baby aside, it's just downright uncomfortable. So i'm off to see my doctor next week. I also just got all my results back from my over40 health check, all 'normal'. Thyroid, iron, cholesterol, bones, liver, kidneys, heart, BP and on and on. Great news obviously but I almost wished there was something 'out' so I could explain these irregular cycles and horrid horrid symptoms.

Chatbash72 · 14/02/2019 09:47

Happy Valentine's Day @Cleozeta 😘😘
And lots of love ladies

Cleozeta · 14/02/2019 09:52

Thank you all for the commiserations. Hobbes - interestingly I had a similar situation with a friend recently too. Funny how we don't even think of age until we hit 40. Now its a constant thing and if anyone announces a pregnancy or a birthday I need to know their age! Didn't give a crap before.

Mimosa - sorry to hear you are having a bad cycle. Sounds shitty. We are too young for this. I think you are doing the right thing seeing a gp. There may be another explanation. Maybe a simple vitimin deficiancy?

I am (in my birthday panic) seriously considering calling the clinic today to make an appointnent to start IUI.....

Rose68 · 14/02/2019 16:00

Happy birthday Cleo! I know how you feel, but believe me, 42 is a much better age than the 44 that is rapidly approaching me.
My acupuncturist was telling me today that this desire to have another child won’t last forever... sounds like he’s giving up on me really doesn’t it.
@Littlemimosa I’m so sorry you are feeling crappy too, I think we are all feeling the same really, bloody shit, despite the lovely day outside.

Russkispy · 14/02/2019 16:04

@Cleozeta happy birthday! 🎉
And Happy Valentine's Day, lovely ladies!
CD33 and still no AF. And BFN. I'm so fed up! What's going on with my body! And why this cycle of all cycles! IVF is planned for this cycle. Still waiting.

Snowie3 · 14/02/2019 17:15

Happy rubbish birthday Cleo!

May 42 be your year. Lots of amazing things can happen and I've got a good feeling for you!!

Snowie3 · 14/02/2019 17:27

Sorry to hear you are feeling bad mimosa. I know that our hormones can go in ebbs and flows so hopefully they will get better for you. It's def worth seeing GP to help.

Im on day 19 and think i may ovulate in next day or so. Looks like my body has permanently shifted to this new pattern/cycle.. I've got my fingers crossed for a valentines day conception! DS was conceived on valentines day so i could be lucky.. ;-)?!

Incidentally, i went to the doctors last week as was feeling unwell and had a variety of tests done. Turns out my thyroid levels had changed and is now at 2.7 so i have had to change my medication dose to make it come under 2.5 which they need for fertility purposes apparently. I only started this last summer when they found it to be slightly high. I have know idea why it happened/ive got it, i thought it might have been related to my recent pregnancy but then perhaps not if it has still increased more now?!

I hope it may have started working this week as i could have affected my chances without even knowing. There is so much to think about i can't keep up!

Dickybow321 · 14/02/2019 18:19

Happy birthday @Cleozeta! Of course we get you.

OMG wow, @Hobbes39 ! That is incredible news. I am so chuffed for you! 😁😁😁

BooseysMom · 14/02/2019 18:57

"Happy" (?!) Birthday Cleo.Hmm x
I'm 47 on Sunday and can't be bothered to even acknowledge it..how sad is that?!

@Snowie3.. My DS was also conceived on Valentine's Day but there won't be any of that happening this time as AF is here. Sad

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone x

BooseysMom · 14/02/2019 19:00

@barnburntdown.. hi and welcome. Also feeling v sorry for myelf as also surfing crimson wave (love the description). Your msg cheered me up esp ..'. And cd1-3 moaning." Grin

rubyroot · 14/02/2019 19:09

Hi all

I haven't read the whole (the beginning and the end) Congratulations @Hobbes39 twins is so exciting.

I'm a newbie- 40 and trying to conceive number 4. I have a 14 month old and was due next month, sadly not to be. Terminated at 13.5, told I would miscarry anyway- fluid round all of baby and tests showed T21. I also miscarried a year before my little boy.

I have now convinced my boyfriend to try again, it's very scary but I feel like I owe it to us all for one last try. I conceived at 38 and 39, don't know why but 40 just seems so much older.

Chatbash72 · 14/02/2019 20:45

Myleene klass preg at 40!! Third baby

littlemimosa · 14/02/2019 22:33

Welcome Ruby. So sorry to hear of your losses. If you don’t mind me asking what is T21?

Chat - 40 just seems so young now doesn’t it?!

Cleo - how has your birthday been?

Orchid - we miss you! Where are you? Just let us know you’re ok....

Russkispy · 14/02/2019 23:01

I do also wonder if @Orchid222 is ok?!

hmmm123 · 15/02/2019 00:52

Hi lovely ladies and happy valentines to all

Welcome to all the new ladies

AF here so waiting for next month and hopeful!

Confusingly I've been potentially offered a new job with a new employer which seems very good and exciting but I don't feel I can take it when I'm now really actively ttc ( haven't really tried before and I'm annoyed with myself about that) .. but then I think if getting pregnant doesnt happen and let's be honest it is likely that it wont ...won't I kick myself that I've missed this opportunity .. dilemmq!!

KristieP2018 · 15/02/2019 07:50

Looks like I’m out. No cramps or anything still but went to the toilet and there’s pink when I wipe. I want to cry but I’m running out of tears.

Realitysucks · 15/02/2019 09:26

@cleozetta Happy Valentine’s Day for yesterday 😘😉 x Hope you tried to do something nice x

So I’ve been to clinic and I actually feel okish. My cycle has been cancelled as only two follicles one at 19m and one at 12 . It would have been silly to carry on to egg collection. They have just given me the trigger shot so we have been told to get busy tomorrow night and Sunday morning and Tuesday ! Lining is 11mm so perfect apparently.

Plan now is on my next cycle they will do bloods on day one and check my hormone levels to see if a good month, we will keep doing this over 3 months and if no good month then consider our options. ( which at the moment I have no idea what they are if I get to that point)

Rose68 · 15/02/2019 09:43

@hmmm123 would it be an option to take the job and carry on ttc?

@Reality I’m so sorry about your cycle being cancelled, but maybe it will happen anyway! FX

Nothing to report here as usual

Hobbes39 · 15/02/2019 09:48

I'm sorry your cycle has been cancelled @Realitysucks - sounds like a good plan for moving forward tho - and every chance that trying naturally could work this cycle - fingers crossed 🤞! X

Karigan195 · 15/02/2019 09:53

Take the job. You can put your life now on hold for a possibility in the future

Hobbes39 · 15/02/2019 10:17

I also meant to say @hmmm123 - I agree with others - take the job. One of the most frustrating things F.R. me about the last 4 years has been that life has been partly on hold while we have been deep in this ttc territory... that's partly cos we went down the IVF route and so money we had went to that rather than holidays etc... and its the part of this process that I know I will regret if we don't get a healthy baby(ies) at the end. Don't put your life on hold - not if you have the choice xx

Hobbes39 · 15/02/2019 10:18

For, not F.R. - no idea where that came from!

Cleozeta · 15/02/2019 10:32

Mimosa - birthday was fine thank you, nothing dropped off, so hoping to carry on as normal, just a bit older and sadder.

I was wondering what has happened to orchid as well. Hope she is ok!

Hmmm - I'd go for the job AND ttc. You never know the awkwardness of it may even tempt fate...

Reality - sorry your cycle was cancelled. Fingers crossed for next cycle - or even some of nature's luck!

Welcome ruby

Kristie - hope you are ok, this ttc malarky can be so disheartening.
