Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it. Hmm

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

Sorry for late reply, just got my little Halo into bed and tidied his toys away.

Im also UK and im 30 but 26 if anyone asks Wink

Are you all using an app for this or just through internet? I find it really hard to use because of scrolling back up to read convos when replying and trying to remember peoples usernames to tag... especially now that the thread is onto page 2... Maybe im just not very tech savy Grin

@pinkflower22 Sorry to hear. Im sure u feel dissapointed now. Sending an E-hug.
I dont even know now when I started it... sometime within the last year anyway lol. I have just ordered cheap opks from amazon to use everyday. You can ovulate before period once coming off pill (although I doubt it will, still nice to keep checking)

Hello Smile @cocobana and @mum22soon23

Will you try another test in a day or two coco?

Third mum22? What are your age gaps, if u dont mind me asking?

Scarletrose18 · 06/11/2018 20:12

Are u just working 3 until 6 then tonight @PastaSauceHoarder ? It must be hard starting at that time. I had a naughty caramel square, and a coffee was delicious! Cake Brew

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 06/11/2018 20:41

Hah @Scarletrose18, still 26 at heart eh? Wink That caramel square sounds so good!!

Yeah I do 3-6 everyday, I work in an afterschool club for a primary school. Smile I do love it but I'd much much MUCH rather be at home all day with my little one (and their future brother or sister, fingers crossed! Wink)

Ooh actually on the topic of ovulating before a period coming, I actually did get a positive test before my first one arrived after having my coil out! So maybe its worth just testing everyday to make sure anyway?

PastaSauceHoarder · 06/11/2018 20:42

Oh also I'm just using the website... Found it easier than the app!

Cocobana · 06/11/2018 20:46

@Scarletrose18 thank you. Yes I’m going to take another first thing in morning. I haven’t had a period yet since coming off the pill and not sure when it is due although I’m estimating between now and within the next week at the max because I’m normally regular. I’ve ordered some ovulation strips to help track where I am in my cycle. It’s so confusing isn’t it!?! Send lots of baby dust and good wishes your way Smile

Scarletrose18 · 06/11/2018 21:27

@PastaSauceHoarder thats a nice job to have, especially if your Dd goes to that school and club when shes older Smile
Will defo keep taking tests then and dtd.

@cocobana Yes super confusing... lol. I wonder how they managed years ago with no pregnancy tests, or opk, or social forums Grin probably it was alot more simple!
How long ago did u stop pill?

Thank you, baby dust to you too! Smile

OP posts:
Cocobana · 06/11/2018 21:40

Haha exactly Scarlet, I think all of these supposed technologically advanced methods just confuse everything further and give false hope! I bet it was easier back then too. I stopped the pill 3 weeks ago and first day of my last period (artificial pill one) was 4 weeks ago. Have you been off yours long?

Scarletrose18 · 06/11/2018 22:22

@cocobana I have only had 4 days off of mine...lol. I should of really came off of it before now so that I could be regular before ttc to make dates etc easier. I havnt really had a period (even an artificial one, only some random breakthrough bleeds) since the one before concieving my ds so I have no clue where im at... hence the daily opk Smile

Im sure u feel so confused right now having one positive and one negative PT. x

@PastaSauceHoarder

I'm studying Sociology. Was going to do teacher training next year but decided we want a baby so will postpone that.
It seemed like pink mucous , I put in a tampon but nothing like red blood on it so I'm not sure what's happening
How olds your child?

@Scarletrose18
I've had pink mucous discharge but no bleeding yet so waiting and seeing again 😂

pinkflower22 · 07/11/2018 07:04

Update - started AF fully , going to try again in a few weeks

Cocobana · 07/11/2018 07:30

Scarletrose18 dc1 was conceived in the first month right after coming off the pill so my artificial period was my last one and I didnt get a real period the next month. I think if I’d waited to get my cycle back and plan it more than I might not have been as lucky hence why I haven’t waited this time. This time doing the same thing though has caused abit of confusion but my ovulation strips are coming today thank god and hopefully I’ll get my period soon and then know for sure where I am in my cycle. I think you’re doing the right thing by not waiting because you can still ovulate even when periods haven’t returned yet.

Cocobana · 07/11/2018 07:36

as you said* lots of baby dust to everyone on this thread

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/11/2018 09:20

Next cycle, @pinkflower22. Flowers How are you feeling?

And how are we all doing today? Smile I've got my next period due in about three days time, the last one before all systems go! I should be ovulating on the 26th which seems like aaaaages away!!

pinkflower22 · 07/11/2018 13:00

@PastaSauceHoarder

I'm okay thanks, dealing with AF pain and studying as well, got a deadline tomorrow.

What are you up to today?

Need advice because, I'm a bit confused about something actually about my next cycle. For the last three months my cycle has been 26 days, but this month it was 28. So I assumed that for the last three months I OV'd around day 10-13, but I'm not sure. So this month it must have been day 10-14. But I might be completely of.

When do you think I should start testing for OV??

because i have no idea if it's early or late for me in my cycle and I don't want to waste any extra tests that I have to?

Scarletrose18 · 07/11/2018 19:11

Why was @Shanx message deleted? I havnt got a change to get on all day so never got reading it

OP posts:
Scarletrose18 · 07/11/2018 19:23

@pinkflower22 awww no. Ur head must be pickled now! Maybe u could start testing a day or so before, maybe day 9? But if you dont want to waste tests then im not sure. Can u go onto one of those apps and enter all the data of your cycles so far and see what it says? I have never tried one but heard they are good. As @cocobana said its all so confusing!

@pastasaucehoarder Im good today thank you, my husband was working late though so ai have just been busy. Finally chilling with a coffee now Smile
yaaay, 19 days and counting Mrs Pasta. It doesnt sound that long but when you are waiting it feels like forever!

@cocobana sounds like you are in a similar situation as me then. Not a clue where were at with our cycles lol.

I got preg after first bleed from coming off pill last time and I think that would be amazing if it would happen quickly again although im trying not to expect it, im so excited and would love another baby but theres a part of me that is still really scared because of how ill manage with a 2 year age gap. Its a strange feeling. Confused

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/11/2018 21:08

I saw Shanx message @Scarletrose18, they're just some troll trying to push their fertility medicine or clinic or whatever. I think it got deleted almost instantly!

Ooh I strongly recommend using Ovia Fertility as a tracking app if anyone is interested though! Smile I've been using it for months and its been absolutely spot on for me. Plus it takes into account that I'm still breastfeeding which not a lot of conception apps do.

@pinkflower22 To be honest if I were you I'd probably just test everyday just so I didn't accidentally miss it! It sounds like a waste of tests but soon enough you'll probably get a better idea of when you'll ovulate regularly and you won't need to use as many. Smile

Scarletrose18 · 08/11/2018 09:45

Oh right. @PastaSauceHoarder our thread must be super exciting for them to try and market on it Grin

I posted this chart on another thread as I think its great. Whenever you do have your AF, this tells you due date... so first line is the first day of AF, second line is due date. Thought you ladies may like it too Smile

November has arrived...time for TTC )
OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 08/11/2018 19:33

That chart is fab, @Scarletrose18!! I just wish more than anything that I get to use it soon! 🤞🏻

So I started spotting today, bang on time. I can't wait to get this period out of the way, should come on properly in about two days time. I swear I was never this regular before I had my daughter!

How's everyone's day been? Smile

Scarletrose18 · 08/11/2018 21:24

@PastaSauceHoarder Its handy to use, especially if your trying for a certain time then you can use it for planning in advance. (Obvously its not always that simple tc but I like it for planning Smile)

My day has been hectic, and I have had a sore head last few days, thinking it may be from coming off pill as I very rarely get them. Just sitting down now for some crackers and cheese so im sure that will help Grin

Yay, happy days. Time is getting closer for you! Do u worry at all about the small gap?
How has yours been?

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 08/11/2018 21:42

@Scarletrose18 I don't worry too much about the age gap (I was ready to TTC a few months now before anyway!) but I've got no delusions - I know it will definitely be hard work! I just can't ignore the absolute urge to be pregnant again. Does it worry you much?

Oh dear! Do you get symptoms from coming off the pill too? I suppose its all got to leave your body, hasn't it? I fell pregnant on the pill so I never really experianced coming off it properly. I hope your head feels better soon, cheese and crackers sounds like a great cure though! Wink

My day has been good, I decided that I absolutely must ween my daughter off breastfeeding today, she only has it at bedtime but shes 17 months old now. To my surprise she actually went to sleep without it no problem, so its a good start! Smile

Scarletrose18 · 08/11/2018 22:08

@PastaSauceHoarder I really want to be pregnant again too... when I look at newborn pictures of my son I feel so broody or if I even see a baby or hear one cry... I just get this feeling....I had always planned on a 2 year gap, but I am naturally a worrier and I made the mistake of researching age gaps and read lots if mums saying it was awful for them and so hard to cope with. But then I think to myself it may be months and months before it happens then ill regret not starting to try now... its a vicious circle lol. Does any of that make sense?

I cut down to only night feeds and then at 13 months I totaly stopped, think it was harder for me than ds. Lol. How do u feel about it? Thats amazing how long you have fed... well done. Smile And brill that she went to bed with no problems. "High five"

And another "high five" for the fact that tomorrow is Friday!! Yay

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 09/11/2018 00:11

Yes that totally makes sense, don't worry! Smile I get what you mean. And I'm sure having a toddler and a baby will be difficult but sooo worth it at the same time. Would you have other family members to help out if you needed them?

I just can't imagine cherishing another child as much as my first little one. My mum told me that it's just instantaneous, that you don't share love between the two, you just grow more. I can't wait for that. Smile

Regarding breastfeeding, I'm definitely ready to stop. I always planned to keep going until her first birthday (we had a very difficult start to feeding and I was determined that I was going to master it!) but really after that time just escaped me.
How did you stop completely? Did it take a while for your little boy to get used to it?

Yes to Friday!! Grin Have you any nice weekend plans?
