Hi everyone. New hear so please bare with.

So my last period was 22nd August and I have a cycle of 32/33 days. According to my app I should have ovulated on the 10th Sept. I should have come on on Monday 24th but no sign at all. I took a FRER test on Monday and BFN and also on Tuesday with FMU and the same result. I'm having dull cramping and feeling heavy but it isn't continuously just every now and again through the day. Also feeling really tired. Other than that I have no other symptoms and today would make me 16dpo. Has anyone ever got a BFN and gone onto having your BFP at this late stage? I'm clinging onto a little bit of hope until AF arrives but I'm just unsure what's going on 🤷‍♀️

@cupcakesandglitter you're really upside down then too aren't you?! That's a whole year off so things have to settle down for you hopefully! I've just put a new post up on the pregnancy board asking about experiences conceiving after contraception, that might give us some advice/hope xxx

cupcakesandglitter · 04/10/2018 21:28

@iris81 yeah 😔 I really was settled too, it's just annoying that this has to happen now. Would you mind tagging me in it please so I can follow? Xx

iris81 · 04/10/2018 21:32

Just tagged you @cupcakesandglitter xx

cupcakesandglitter · 04/10/2018 21:48

It's not come up @iris81 what's the thread name? This app is bloody useless xx

iris81 · 04/10/2018 21:55

@cupcakesandglitter no idea how to tag dory but it's this xx

Missed period.
iris81 · 04/10/2018 21:55

Sorry not dory x

When I was ttc ds1 I came off the pill in the October and it took until March to settle into a normal rhythm including at least one v v long and seemingly all over the place cycle. We also started ttc as soon as I came off the pill, in a casual, trying not to make to big a thing of it kind of way but obviously the noticed everything my body was/wasn't doing in a very heightened way! I def think it takes a while for your body to find it's own natural rhythm again.

It occured to me earlier that in a similar way I stopped breastfeeding my daughter last summer after being either pregnant, breastfeeding or both continuously for nearly 7 years eeek....this blip could well be a result of my hormones only just starting to settle themselves down again if my body has finally finished producing milk?! Shock Hmm

Hi all

Day 47 and AF has arrived. IN FULL.
Disappointed but happy, I've been spending way too much money on tests and getting BFNs! At least I'm back to normal ish now.

I'm hoping for good news or even just AF for the rest of you.

I'll have to think about how I track ovulation this month, has anyone any advice? POAS?

I thought I ovulated on 4/9 but Ovia app now says 17/9 based on AF coming today! I was way out. Don't think I even DTD then Confused
Might just have to do it non stop - husband will be happy but sounds a bit clinical!!!

Wishing you all lots of luck x

I'm quite surprised with this AF. Given that I had such a long cycle and 10 days late I was expecting some sort of tap run down there 😂 but surprisingly it's one of the lightest I've ever had. It's pretty much just spotting 🤷‍♀️

Omg @BlueC2 😂 I think it's definitely your body settling down! X

@agteacht sucks that it's here but I'm glad you have your answer too! I used OPKs (cheap ones from amazon) and they definitely worked!! Immune gradually get darker until I get a positive, and then they go back to normal. I would recommend it HOWEVER it added that slight more pressure to me I think because of the fact that I knew when I ovulated so I couldn't understand why I'm not pg 😂😔

@zazu you're in the same position as me!! Same here - I can confirm AF has definitely stopped! Bloody useless I tell you 😂 x

agteacht · 05/10/2018 08:43

My AF is the heaviest ever
But nearly 3 weeks late I guess.

That's great @cupcakesandglitter - any particular brand you would recommend? What day after AF do people normally start testing?

cupcakesandglitter · 05/10/2018 09:37

@agteacht sorry to hear that 😩 these are the ones I have: www.amazon.co.uk/One-Step-Sensitive-Ovulation-Fertility/dp/B001G7P62S 😊 I started pretty much the day I came off AF because I know some people ovulate a couple of days after so I think it's worth doing it twice a day, not with fmu, and I do it usually just after lunch and in the evening - I don't drink more water than I usually do because it dilutes my pee too much, and I also try and hold my pee as long as I can too 😂 x

zazu · 05/10/2018 12:24

@cupcakesandglitter I'm pretty sure that by tomorrow my AF would have stopped also. Less and less as the day goes by. I've only needed to use a pad at bed time really just in case it comes full on over night but it doesn't. It's just slightly there when I wipe. Did you have any period pains with yours? Usually I get them pretty bad with an awful heavy feeling but I've had nothing with this one 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 05/10/2018 12:34

@zazu snap!!! My periods are usually awfully heavy, have been since I was a teenager, and PAINFUL. I cry, can't move, lose colour from my face and everything! This period has been delightful in that sense because I haven't felt anything at all. I felt a bit heavy down there before AF which is why I thought I was coming on (usually get that when I have a heavy one) but there's been nothing at all. Nothing when I wipe again now so I'm officially off!! I hope we get answers for this 😩 xx

zazu · 05/10/2018 12:49

@cupcakesandglitter it's so strange eh? My periods have been fine all this time but now ttc they go all crazy! What I'm having now is closer to spotting than it is period. I'm going to see how it goes and if all resumes as normal with the next on then I'll put it down to just one of those things but if not I may take a trip to the doctors to see if everything is ok.

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 05/10/2018 14:03

@zazu that's my plan too - if this next cycle is crazy I'll go to the doctors too x

BlueC2 · 05/10/2018 14:44

So sorry you've all got the frustration of all of this, when TTC it really is such an added stress and so unwelcome!

@cupcakesandglitter it's over a year since I stopped BF and had thought my system had settled down ok (apart from putting a load of weight on this time last year!) but I do wonder if this is phase two of my body adjusting...

@cupcakes and @zazu and anyone else with a super-light period I wonder if that means that you didn't ov (for some reason) as that may explain the super light period as I guess that means your body didn't produce as much lining to then shed?! Just a thought...

On CD34 or 37 (can't remember which) I had some pink spotting, literally once when I wiped but that 'could' I guess be my bodies feeble attempt at a period for that cycle if I didn't ov for some reason...that would then mean I was technically now CD15 or thereabouts and due AF again in a couple of weeks...

zazu · 05/10/2018 14:46

@cupcakesandglitter I think it'll be best for our own piece of mind really. The last time I was pregnant was 9 years ago so I do worry that my time is limited and maybe not as easy as I thought to try and fall. I think when most women pass the age of 30 it crosses their minds 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
BlueC2 · 05/10/2018 14:52

@agteacht sorry you're suffering with a super heavy AF...def make a note of how late it was on this occasion and how heavy and how long it lasts. If it happens again or becomes a regular thing then you should go to your GP as it could be a sign that implantation didn't occur or failed (no expert on this but I'm pretty sure it happened to me when we were TTC my DS) [hugs] hope you can rest up over the next day or so!

iris81 · 05/10/2018 19:43

Still nothing for me today. I'm wondering whether the brown on wiping Monday then red tues briefly Tuesday morning was my whole af this month???? I also usually have heavy ones. Maybe I just need my body to adjust after coming off the pill but even when I was on it I had pmt symptoms every 4 weeks. I'm watching out for you all and hoping you have good news 😊💕

TokenGinger · 05/10/2018 19:56

@iris81 could that have been implantation bleeding?

iris81 · 05/10/2018 20:23

@TokenGinger it has crossed my mind but who knows now?? I'll update when eventually I get an answer either way Smile xxx

iris81 · 05/10/2018 20:26

For those with much less of an af than usual, will you still count the slight symptoms from day one for your cycle?

cupcakesandglitter · 06/10/2018 00:04

@iris81 I counted AF when I saw red so to speak, the brown spotting I had beforehand wasn't AF I don't think! X

agteacht · 06/10/2018 01:25

@cupcakesandglitter thank you 😊 and I'll order those
Holding out for you and everyone else x
