Hi all, I have just turned 39, and have 2 daughters from my previous marriage, aged 6 and 9. I am in a very happy long term relationship with my partner who is 32. We have just started TTC'ing for a baby. My third, his first. Anyone else in a similar situation?
I believe I should be ovulating today or tomorrow (On CD17 of a 32/33 day cycle) but no positive OPK yet. Worried my eggs have dried up! Wink

After many many dc and divorced I met dh at 41 and had ds at 43. Conceived on third cycle!
Uneventful pregnancy tbh.
Unfortunately I had a blood clot (not age related I was told) and had to have an emcs at 35 weeks. Ds was fine and went home after a week at 4-12!!!
Was a learning curve having a tiny tot!!
Eggciting times for you op!!
Best of luck!

Thank you April! That's a lovely story to fill me with hope! Congratulations on your DS. Flowers

@MakeAWhish im just turned 39 and ttc #4Grin similar ages to yours except i have one nearly 18 from first marriage.

We've been ttc since July17 with an early loss in April. Fingers crossed for some luck this month Smile

I had my first at 40 (conceived at 39), and my second at 45 (conceived at 44). Both natural, although I did need to have some added help with no.2 as I'd had 3 MCs in between - so I had progesterone pessaries and went straight onto clexane jabs as soon as I got a positive pregnancy test result (I have Factor V Leiden thrombophilia, so need clexane to make sure I don't get blood clots while pg).

Both boys were born naturally as well, although both required forcible eviction (induction) and they've been fine since.

One thing I will say though about the MCs - although it's not proven - after the 3rd one, I had my vitamin D levels tested and they were very poor, so my GP gave me a course of 10,000 IU tablets to bring it up. Next time I got pg, he stuck - this may of course be complete chance but low vit D is associated with both reduced fertility and miscarriage, so maybe not.

Aprilshowersinaugust · 22/08/2018 09:35

Meant to add my dh is also a 'toy boy' at nearly ten years younger!!

MakeAWhish · 24/08/2018 13:14

Hi everyone! Lovely to 'meet' you and hear your stories. Thanks for the vit D tip Thumbwitch, I'm terrible at remembering to take vitamins, am away this week without my folic acid. Will have to get better at when we get home.

Hi @MakeaWhish I’m in pretty much exactly the same situation!

DS’s are 10 & 5. Swore I’d never ttc again but have a new partner who’s younger than me (I’m 37) so here we go again!

Taking my last pill tonight!! Grin

MakeAWhish · 24/08/2018 16:09

@LatteLover12 How nice to have someone else to chat to about it! It's so weird being back to ttc after thinking my oven was closed for business!! Wishing you lots of luck and look forward to sharing our journeys xx

Turns out we are giving it a go briefly, ttc#3 Just over 40 🙄

blueskiespls · 25/08/2018 07:23

@MakeAWhish
Hi, this is my first reply and I could have posted your post!!
Have 2 girls from previous marriage, my partner is younger than me (I’m 35) with no children and we (after summer hols) are going to go for it! I am excited, but it’s startinf again and a little scary!! He is beside himself with excitement.

blueskiespls · 25/08/2018 07:25

@LatteLover12
Nice to hear from other people in same situation, just when you think you’re all done with babies...

MakeAWhish · 25/08/2018 07:27

@blueskiespls Morning! Yay, another recruit!! It's exciting isn't it. My partner is the same, so excited to be ttc, problem is he thinks it'll happen super quick and I'm not so sure! Only time will tell Smile Lots of baby dust your way! I'll be testing next week, starting at 10dpo I think - exciting times! Xx

OP posts:
blueskiespls · 25/08/2018 07:30

@MakeAWhish yes same here with the expecting it to happen quick... I keep reiterating how it can be a very looooong process etc. One thing I worry about, it didn't take long at all to conceive my girls. If this takes ages or doesn't happen, he will think it's him :(
How do you think your children will react? I am pretty sure mine will be over the moon!

MakeAWhish · 25/08/2018 08:12

@blueskiespls Same here, his brother has had trouble conceiving (successful second round of ivf) and I know he's nervous about it. My girls were both conceived quickly too. Yep, my two will be over the moon! They've asked us to have a baby, so we've actually told them we'll try our best, so they're very excited x how old are your girls? Xx

OP posts:
blueskiespls · 25/08/2018 08:21

They are 9 and 6. They stay with their dad quite a lot, so I have a job where I can work longer on the days when the girls aren't home. And obviously I get some weekend days to do as I please (currently sanding and painting windows!) so having another will actually be a huge change for me! Am I mental??!!

blueskiespls · 25/08/2018 08:22

@MakeAWhish are your girls with you full time or do you have another arrangement with your ex?

MakeAWhish · 25/08/2018 09:31

@blueskiespls possibly quite mental! Haha! No, it'll be lovely. And are you also finding it odd that our daughters are exactly the same age too?! Shock Spooky! The girls are with us full time, they go to their dads every other weekend. I do love those lazy child free weekends tho Confused

MakeAWhish · 25/08/2018 09:36

@blueskiespls also, I must confess I am writing this from a sun lounger at an adults only all inclusive hotel in Spain, as the girls are with their dad for a week - I'll certainly miss this next year, all being well! Ha. X

@MakeAWhish @LatteLover12
It is kind of spooky! I have considered posting something about having 3rd child with new partner but wasn't sure what reception I would get Confusedit's actually just really nice knowing there are other families out there like ours. I never thought I would have children with different dads... but there you go!!

blueskiespls · 25/08/2018 09:52

@MakeAWhish oh enjoy your holiday!!!!i bet you are loving it. We've had a couple of small holidays on our own, was bliss actually. But the ones with the girls are always great fun, I can totally imagine them with a baby. Just cannot imagine a boy (as I've never had one!) so seem to only picture a girl. I sometimes wonder will it be weird for them because the new child will always be with us and they go off to their dads? Hmm

LatteLover12 · 25/08/2018 11:15

Ooh I’m just back from a child free holiday too @MakeAWhish I think I’ll miss my child free weekends when they’re gone! I think my OH hasn’t quite grasped the full time aspect of a new baby!

I hadn’t considered it either @blueskiespls (and am fully expecting the cats bum face from my mother!) but life isn’t a straight line so here we are!

Is anyone else er, concerned about multiples? Shock
