TTC baby #1 journey

Hiya,

This is our first cycle ttc and I thought it would be brilliant to chat to ladies who are currently in the same position and support each other’s journeys...I’m 15dpo and AF is one day late but giving her a chance to appear before testing. I’m feeling chilled about it but the tww does feel like forever!
For context I’ve been off all contraception for over a year, have been tracking my cycles on an app, find that I’m usually spot on 28 days but took a while to get there post implant and EWCM and ovulation cramps appear at the same time the app says that I’m ovulating. I haven’t started temping or charting but may do in a few months. Would love to hear your circumstances!

I know what you mean about the TWW feeling like forever! Hubby and I are on cycle 13 of TTC number 1 and each month I swear the TWW gets longer....!
This time I'm finding it really hard not to symptom spot lol

My husband and I are also TTC for baby #1. I only came off BC last month so this is our first month of active TTC. AF was due 1-2 days ago so I am a day or so late. But I am also feeling exhausted, with bloating, slight cramping, tingling nipples and growing boobs! I am also going to leave it a few more days for AF to appear before I test. I actually did a test the day before AF was due (3 days ago) which was a BFN 😕.

Fingers crossed for you that you get a BFP soon!

I’m not testing until the weekend, I’ve read about af’s coming late the first time trying and bnf’s until the week after it was due so I’ll give it until Saturday.

Your symptoms sound promising! I’ve only had what I think are implantation pains around 10dpo, it was a dull ache for a couple of days and some twinges in my boobs but haven’t had anything since and don’t feel pregnant. But also no af symptoms and a fair amount of lotion like cm yesterday rather than af which is different for me. When are you testing again?

Hi, I'm new to this site. Me and my DH have been TTC since Janurary, I came off the pill at Christmas and tracked my ovulation and I'd say I've been regular for about 4 months. due AF Thursday, using the flo app. Everyone keeps saying forget about it and it will happen but how do you forget it!? This would be our first baby and I'm so ready for one now! Sorry I'm not up with all the lingo yet!

I had my merina coil removed 3 weeks ago. We were advised that fertility returns right away, and there was no need to wait before TTC. My difficulty is that I have not had AF for the 9 years that I had a coil, so I have no idea when I am due. I have also forgotten what AF symptoms feel like and so whatever is going on with could be A) in my head, B) AF symptoms, or C) symptoms that I may be getting a BFP.

3 weeks of trying and I am already going a bit mental. It also feels that the longest 3 weeks in a along time!

Hi @Peacock14 and everyone else. I actually tested again on Tuesday and got a BFP! I was going to wait until Thursday but just had a feeling as my AF was late.

Can't believe how quick we conceived. I worked out that we conceived within 2 weeks of me stopping BC 🙈 I am 5 weeks on Sunday.

Anyone else got any updates? Xx

We are ttc #1 too and in cycle 8 now. Tracking on app etc and going to start temping this month too.

We did try SMEP last cycle but didn't quite manage it! Will try again though only CD 3 at the moment

Hey guys, I'm also TTC #1 we've been trying for 5 months so far! I think for the first few months we were dtd at the complete wrong time! Currently I'm 2dpo using a couple of apps and felt definite ov pains when the app said I was supposed to be ov. Jus entering the tww so I've got a long impatient time ahead of me! I'm sure we did everything right this month but had no many BFN's that I kind of just expect the same this month!

Trying to stay positive and not think about it too much but it's so hard! Any implantation should happen in about 5 days so fingers crossed I feel different then!

We are also TTC #1. I am currently in my fertile window and big O-day is tomorrow. I have positive OPKs for 2 days now and DTD most days. Praying that we can conceive.

HI everyone! Thanks for starting this @Peacock14 and congratulations @Chivari 🎉 It’s lovely to hear positive stories! We’re now on cycle 8, came off the pill July 2017 but couldn’t start TTC until January due to risk of Zika. It took nearly a year for my cycle to get back to normal but it seems to have settled. @thejollytrolleydolly we were the exact same! I’m due AF on Monday and this cycle is the first time I received a positive on an ovulation test. Turns out the big O was day 22-23 in my 33 day cycle, I have been getting fed up and stopping testing too early. It also means we haven’t really been trying at the correct time since starting. I actually did a wee dance when I got a positive on my ovulation test 😂 I can’t imagine what I’ll be like if I ever see it on a pregnancy test!

@MissG2MrsB oh how exciting!! Hopefully this month is your month! How long ago did you ov? I'm about 3dpo so at least another 4 days to go until potential implantation so that's my first hurdle that I'm waiting for! The tww is a killer so I'm breaking it up 😂😂

I've been getting bfn's for such a long time I don't think I would believe my eyes if I got a BFP!!

@thejollytrolleydolly I’m 9 dpo now and don’t have any symptoms so might be out this month but I’ll just wait and see. I’ve had a 33 day cycle for the last 2 months but since January have had everything from 28 days (January) to 38 days (May) so it is hard to know exactly when AF will rear her ugly head and I don’t get any symptoms, she just appears. I’ve had people say don’t bother doing ovulation tests etc because it can stress you out so some months I haven’t tested, some I have, but my husband is a shift worker so if I’m ovulating and he’s on night shift, I really need to know so I can come home from work early before he leaves 😂 It’s nice to know there’s people in a similar boat, sometimes it happens quickly, sometimes it takes longer but there’s always people out there going through similar experiences. Hoping you all have positive stories to share soon 😀

I'm currently 13do and AF is due tomorrow - been getting period like dull aches and slight backache today, but then also had this on and off since about 9/10dpo so not sure if it's a sign or if it's AF announcing her imminent visit?!

Planning on testing tomorrow or Monday if AF doesn't show though x

@MrsM2017 I had similar symptoms prior to testing BFP so it may be a sign! Let us know xx

Aww really @Chivari? That sounds promising...what dpo did you test?

I don't actually know @MrsM2017 as it was first month TTC and I had only just stopped taking the pill. I think I tested BFP around 17dpo and I had cramps for at least a week before and sensitive nipples

I really do hope it’s good news for you @MrsM2017, 13 cycles must feel like forever 🤞🏻

@MissG2MrsB it's confusing isn't it? I tried the ov strips for a while but I don't trust them! I think they work ok for people who have steady routines but as I'm a shift worker too I can be getting up or going to bed at any time of the day and it changes from day to day which is so annoying! Half of the time me and the oh are on opposite shifts too so often I'm waking up after he's left and getting home when he's fast asleep so I feel your pain!

I thought I was 3po but for the last 2 days I've had a lot of ewcm which is making me think I haven't even ovd yet and I might have to start the tww all over again! I wish I could just forget about I until September 😂😂 xx

TTC since late June although I had the coil out last year we haven't been trying properly until now, I was put on the pill but didn't take it religiously! Moved into our first house in February so wanted to wait until we were settled.

Must admit I've already started to get obsessive I'm using the flo/glow app and my fertile window this month was 13th-17th according to the apps, so we dtd on the 13th/15th and 17th! I have 11 days until AF arrives so fingers crossed it's this month, for some reason I have this niggling feeling we'll find it hard to conceive DP thinks I'm being negative though

Came off BC Jan 2017 to wait for periods to become regular and started actively TTC in November, so it's been slow going for us!

AF due 25th Aug. Woke up with lower back pain this morning and slight cramping, so lots of speculation and possible wishful thinking as I never get lower back pain in the run up to AF.
