Hiya,

This is our first cycle ttc and I thought it would be brilliant to chat to ladies who are currently in the same position and support each other’s journeys...I’m 15dpo and AF is one day late but giving her a chance to appear before testing. I’m feeling chilled about it but the tww does feel like forever!
For context I’ve been off all contraception for over a year, have been tracking my cycles on an app, find that I’m usually spot on 28 days but took a while to get there post implant and EWCM and ovulation cramps appear at the same time the app says that I’m ovulating. I haven’t started temping or charting but may do in a few months. Would love to hear your circumstances!

Hi ladies, I hope you’re all well, that’s me out this month Sad Trying to stay positive but it’s upsetting, even more so knowing that I won’t be ovulating until 3 weeks from now, wish I had a regular 28 day cycle. I know exactly what you mean @quensuelabananahammok, I had a feeling we’d struggle which is why I was unhappy when we booked our honeymoon and didn’t realise Zika was an issue. Tried to change to somewhere else but couldn’t, I just had a feeling waiting 6 months would delay what would already be a tricky journey. How are you feeling now @LondonKez? I guess one good thing to come out of this journey is that the support my DH has been giving me has made me realise how lucky I am in lots of respects and I’m trying not to take that for granted by getting caught up in what I don’t have, rather than what I do have. x

MrHecklesOboe · 22/08/2018 20:05

Can I join the thread too please? Smile

TTC baby #1, only just started so I am not tracking or testing for ovulation yet, just seeing what happens. I keep thinking I have symptoms but there is a good chance I am imagining them. AF due this weekend and I’m determined not to test unless / until I’m late - will see how well I stick to that!

MrHecklesOboe · 22/08/2018 20:13

Sorry you are out MrsG and Peacock but fingers crossed for you both for next month. And congrats Chivari - so exciting x

Chivari · 22/08/2018 20:20

Thanks @HallowsandHorcruxes xx

HallowsandHorcruxes · 22/08/2018 20:26

Hi everyone!

That's weird, Iv had the same feeling in the past @MissG2MrsB @quensuelabananahammok

I actually went private last year and got some tests done. It showed that apparently I have a high ovarian reserve, but I don't think that means very much ?!

We did a home test for my husband which indicate he has a high sperm count with good mobility, all signs pointing in the right direction, just taking a long time Sad I think the closer we get to the 1 year mark the less hopeful I am each month, all things crossed though

MissG2MrsB · 22/08/2018 21:13

I am determined that the next test I do will be positive! 😂 So even this month, when I was 2 days later than July but still within the 33-38 day range that I’ve had over the last 6 months, I was determined not to test until after I’d reached day 39/40 - so glad I held off now. Oh I didn’t realise you could get home tests for men? I might look into it, I think my DH is starting to panic because we know I’m ovulating (even though we’re still within the ‘give it a year to conceive’ mark). Might see about getting a test. I remember in the run up to our wedding (when I absolutely wasn’t wanting to fall pregnant) getting my period and thinking ‘one day I’ll be really upset when this arrives’. I know it’s not good to be negative but sometimes you just have a niggling doubt.

veeboo · 23/08/2018 18:26

Hello!

Please can I join? Ttc first baby but not first cycle. We're on cycle 3 ish. It's been longer but only the last three have we been using opks and trying to dtd at the right time. Who knew there was so much to get right!
Glad to have people in the same boat.

Nataliej1984 · 23/08/2018 22:08

Hi everyone,

Could I join in to. Also ttc #1 came off the pill in January and only had 4 cycles so far! It's so nice to have the company of people going through the same xx

Nataliej1984 · 23/08/2018 22:21

Forgot to add currently on CD 78 with zero symptoms. Tested this morning and still BFN. Is anyone else testing or having a longer than normal cycle??

MrHecklesOboe · 24/08/2018 09:25

👋🏻 Veebo and Natalie.

My cycle seems to have come back quite quickly but is shorter than I remember - now 26 days and such painful periods. One more reason to hope it happens quickly! Though I only have two to compare as I’ve been on minipill with no periods for ages before starting TTC.

quensuelabananahammok · 24/08/2018 12:41

No symptoms yet apart from a migraine trying it's best to happen and being weepy, crying or wanting to at the silliest things... this morning it was listening to bohemian rhapsody 😣😂 always happens before a period so not holding out too much hope! I've 8 days left until AF arrives according to the flo app 😑

Nataliej1984 · 24/08/2018 13:21

Thanks for the welcome guys 🤗

@quensuelabananahammok I had a blinding migraine last night so I'm hoping to see AF soon! How are you feeling today?

Thanks @Peacock14 for setting this up it really helps to see all you ladies are feeling the same as I am.

@MissG2MrsB I also remember the days you wished to see AF 😂😂

I sometimes think I'm going mad symptom spotting and I'm obsessing but I'm not, and it takes my mind off things wondering how everyone else is doing.

I don't temp as I work different shifts. I did buy a clear blue fertility monitor off eBay and wanted to start using it this month but you have to start at the beginning of your cycle.

Has anyone else used the fertility monitor or do you all just use the OPK sticks? What are your experiences girls?

AlwaysInJods · 24/08/2018 14:30

Hi everyone, is it ok to join?
We're ttc #1, cycle 2, currently on CD20.
I know the odds aren't in our favour this month as only managed to dtd once during FW however I think it was either day of or before O, so hopefully well timed 🙈

MrHecklesOboe · 24/08/2018 14:37

Out for this month I think as I can feel my usual horrible cramps on the way in and right on schedule as AF is due tomorrow.

@nataliej1984 I’m not doing any tracking yet (though occasionally find myself counting days between periods and guessing). DH is very sure that it will just “happen” now I’m off the pill. I’m less convinced but it’s more fun to try it his way first and this was month one so will see how we get on until the end of the year and revisit if I’m not pregnant by then. I’m not 100% on all the acronyms even - is CD cycle day?

So good to have you all to talk to (also stops me obsessing at DH and maintains the chilled “let’s just see” illusion. Grin

quensuelabananahammok · 24/08/2018 17:38

@Nataliej1984 I use opk's but I'm not sure if I'm using them right to be honest, I noticed my temp going up slightly around the time flo app said I was ovulating, but apart from that I have no clue, just go off what the app says! I've also been using conceive plus as I don't think I produce a lot of CM.

I have been pregnant before, ended in termination as I was very young, so I'm hoping I'll be ok Smile

quensuelabananahammok · 24/08/2018 17:41

@Nataliej1984 I get bad migraines before my period, I have hormonal epilepsy so it's all linked, it's usually a week before AF and I'm due next week'ish 😪 I'm ok today, I'm prescribed strong painkillers for them so they help xx

Nataliej1984 · 24/08/2018 23:04

Our body's are amazing things it will be fine @quensuelabananahammok I'm hoping the migraine was an af sign for me. Same here for the CM I do t think I produced an awful lot, my friend said I will defo know for sure when I have ewcm but I really don't 🤦🏼‍♀️

I tried the opks but I got negatives all the time, I've read a lot of women on here have good results with the CB smileys but they are expensive so I think I have a while to go before I should move on to them.

I hope everyone has a good bank holiday .. happy testing for anyone that is 🤞🏻

LolaGrace · 25/08/2018 09:44

Can I join?

My period has just arrived so we will be trying this month. Really nervous and keep thinking what if I can't have children. Anyone else having these thoughts?

I've come off the patch so hoping it doesn't take too long to get out my system. We're just going to see in our first month and enjoy GrinWinkBlush

MrHecklesOboe · 25/08/2018 12:53

Welcome @lolagrace sounds like we will be on about the same cycle as my period started yesterday. We are going on holiday soon which will make the time fly so hope to come back to a BFP!

I do worry a bit (I think everyone does) but as it’s early days I can reassure myself for now that it’s probably fine which I hope it is for all of us.

veeboo · 25/08/2018 14:00

Hi @lolagrace. I feel exactly the same and struggling to reassure myself now. Been ttc since April but our issue is sex and only got into the swing of things in terms of opks and knowing when to dtd in july. A friend just asked if I wanted babies and when I said yes she just went oh are you being casual about it then. What does that even mean?! Why do people ask such personal questions!

MissG2MrsB · 25/08/2018 17:02

Hi everyone who’s just joined 👋🏻

@veeboo, people just don’t think, do they? I’ve been quite lucky in that very few people have asked me, I think everyone who knows us has an idea we’re trying due to how long we’ve been together, my 30+ age (🙈) etc so they’ve avoided asking... thank goodness!

@Nataliej1984 I kept getting negatives on the cheaper opks so bought the smiley CB one and got a flashing face for 10 days straight but no static (peak fertility) face so stopped testing, was ready for throwing the stupid face through the window 😂 I received my first positive opk this month on the cheaper test, it seems I’m ovulating later than I originally thought so I think that’s why I had been getting so many negative tests. It really had me panicking!

veeboo · 25/08/2018 21:41

@MrsG2MrsB you would think they'd just not ask. I am 31 and my boyf is 37. We've been together 5 years and have a house so it's clear we might be trying but unless I've volunteered the info I'm not going to say yes were trying but no luck yet. It just makes me feel embarrassed!

quensuelabananahammok · 25/08/2018 22:44

Anyone experienced any symptoms? I've had a migraine for the last day, DP was up with me while I was huddled over the toilet 😰 strange thing was though was he had a takeaway for dinner and the smell was literally overwhelming, I had to tell him to take it away because it was knocking me sick 🤢 not sure if it was the migraine though x

Nataliej1984 · 26/08/2018 10:31

😂😂 @MissG2MrsB how annoyed we all get with these sticks wee pee on!! I think I might O late so I was excited to try the fertility monitor so I'll just have to be patient.

Mother in law is dying to ask if we are trying but she knows I will tell her we are not, it's like people think it's their right to know! She did make a comment about 5 months ago and got shot down!

No symptoms for me after me migraines he other day @quensuelabananahammok still waiting for AF

HallowsandHorcruxes · 26/08/2018 12:55

We have just got married in June this year so are constantly getting comments about how 'that will be you next' whenever a baby is in sight Confused
Ours would be the first grandchild on both sides too so I think the extra pressure of everyone waiting news would be too much. Coupled with the fact it is taking us a bit longer, I'd just rather people didn't know, it's pretty personal.
Otherwise I should be heading into my fertile window in the next week CD 12 atm, fingers crossed it's this time !!
