Hiya,

This is our first cycle ttc and I thought it would be brilliant to chat to ladies who are currently in the same position and support each other’s journeys...I’m 15dpo and AF is one day late but giving her a chance to appear before testing. I’m feeling chilled about it but the tww does feel like forever!
For context I’ve been off all contraception for over a year, have been tracking my cycles on an app, find that I’m usually spot on 28 days but took a while to get there post implant and EWCM and ovulation cramps appear at the same time the app says that I’m ovulating. I haven’t started temping or charting but may do in a few months. Would love to hear your circumstances!

@HallowsandHorcruxes I feel your pain! My boyf and I have no intention of marrying and told his mum that yet at her step daughters wedding recently she still publicly asked me "does this not spur you along?" To which the only answer is no. I couldn't lie as she'd get her hopes up but she got really upset. I don't think she dare ask about babies and I'm quite glad not to have the pressure to be honest!

Peacock14 · 27/08/2018 14:22

Woah- I hadn't been getting notifications for this sorry ladies. Thank you so much everyone for joining in and replying :) has anyone got any updates? Anything at all- I'm all ears! Massive congratulations @Chivari!!

We're now on Cycle 2 but I've been so distracted that I somehow missed the first two days of my fertile window agh. I've had a lot of EWCM a few days earlier than expected which made us get our butts in gear. Has anyone else found that they are unexpectedly relaxed about it?! I can't decide whether it's a good thing or not. Does everyone rate temping and using OPK's? I'm going to start using them next month x

👋 hi @Peacock14. I have used opks for 3 months now and find them helpful because my cycle has varied in length each month and DP struggles to dtd every other day so they keep us on track.

Darma87 · 28/08/2018 23:52

Hi Everyone! Joining the TTC#1 with my super weird for me cycle.

I'm CD 48, cycle 5 of what is usually a fairly regular 27 day cycle. I was testing with OPKs and had assumed ovulation on CD 17 or 18 (got high up to CD16, nada CD19) as had a girls weekend and didn't see much point wasting them while I was away from DP! Had very very light spotting CD32-37 that I hoped was IB but there was some EWCM so now thinking I may have actually just had a really late ovulation. I've been POAS loads over the past 3 weeks but always BFN. Bit fed up tbh and ready for AF to start again! Not sure if the late ovulation is due to general stress or the Seven Seas vits, past 2 cycles on them have been longer than usual...

Peacock14 · 29/08/2018 15:38

Thanks @veeboo! I'm going to get one this month. Do you think the more expensive ones are worth it or not?

@darma87 that sounds so frustrating for you but i'm hoping for the best!! 3 weeks would be very unusual if you are fairly regular, maybe book in with the GP for advice? How long was your last cycle? Do you usually have spotting during your cycle? Hopefully its just hCG taking a while to pick up! Let us know x

Hi @peacock14. I just use internet cheapies. I think the clearblue are easier to interpret as they give a smiley face rather than a line and they also warn you before with a flashy smiley. The ic work for me for now though, especially as my cycle is between 30-33 days and (I've said this before) we struggle to dtd more than twice in the window so it gives me peace of mind that we've hit the right few days. Mine were from amazon.

Ivydawn · 29/08/2018 20:49

Hi, just after some advice.

AF is 2 days late and I’ve been using OPKS and tracking my OV date which was the 14th.
I came off contraception in October 17 and cycle have always been 28days.

Woke up this morning and began throwing up but felt fine in myself just nauseas throughout the day. Dizziness but unsure if that’s just been sick. BFN on HPT yesterday. However just to see I did a OPK and this came back positive on the day AF was due. Cramping and back ache and pains in legs however no sore breast like I usually would have the week before AF.

Darma87 · 29/08/2018 23:08

@peacock14 - last cycle was 35 days and I usually spot for 2/3days before AF. Think AF is on her way, just had a little spotting so let's see.

Will need to try the IC's and maybe a BBT for this next cycle! Similar boat to you @veeboo - not been able to get more than 2 in the window, it's not so easy with being knackered after work, 2 late cycles in a row and DP going on work trips. Feeling hopeful for the next one, go on holiday next week so hoping some time away may be what we need!

@ivydawn - sounds good! I'd give it a few more days then try again. 🤞

veeboo · 30/08/2018 18:00

@Darma87 so good to hear a similar story. I read the advice to dtd every other day in amazement...just not realistic for us

Nataliej1984 · 01/09/2018 17:20

How is everyone? Is anyone testing? I've moved on to CD 87 and still no AF, last negative was Wednesday 😔

Darma87 · 01/09/2018 17:40

@Nataliej1984 do you always have long cycles? Im usually 27days but currently on CD52 and tested this morning - BFN 🙄. I've been spotting for 3 days now so who knows what's going on!

Nataliej1984 · 01/09/2018 17:48

No, I can off the pill in jan; cd's 36,54,37 the lates being the 87! I spotted for 3 days about 4 weeks ago. I have no symptoms that I have spotted apart from a lack of sore boobs. Before every other period I had unbelievably sore boobs.

It's the not knowing isn't it!! I can deal with the bfn but the no af 😣 ugh

HallowsandHorcruxes · 02/09/2018 00:27

Aw that's tough @Nataliej1984 hopefully you get in to a regular cycle soon or get a bfp!

I'm CD 18 and in my fertile window, we have managed not too badly and DTD a couple of days before then Thursday and today. Hopefully tomorrow too to give us the best chance of a bfp - fingers crossed.

Nataliej1984 · 02/09/2018 17:36

Keep us all up to date 🤞🏻🤞🏻

HappyRambler · 02/09/2018 20:12

Hi all, new to mumsnet and am getting to grips with all the anacryonyms so please bear with me! 27 years old, off the pill for 3 years and have only recently started ttc as periods have been getting lighter (2-3 days) and longer apart (from 41-56 days). Didn't think we would start trying for another 1/2 years but worried it might take a while! Our plan is to have no plan and just to stop using condoms and see what happens!

veeboo · 03/09/2018 02:58

Af has arrived so I'm out again. Earlier than expected so I must have messed up on opks this month. My cycles have gone shorter by 1 day each month for the last 4. I'm so disheartened. We don't dtd enough. I have a gp appointment Friday but surely they won't really care if its just a timing issue. I just don't see this happening for us.

Darma87 · 03/09/2018 07:53

Welcome @HappyRambler! You'll pick up the lingo quickly, don't worry!

@veeboo sort to hear. Are you taking any vitamins? I'm taking seven seas trying for a baby and found my cycles are now longer (could be a coincidence), although latest was very long for me at 52days so I'm actually quite please that AF has fully started now. On to the next cycle! Fingers crossed for us all!

veeboo · 03/09/2018 08:13

Thanks @Darma27. No I just take folic acid as the stories about longer cycles scare me. My cycles aren't short but they have changed by a day each time...30 31 32 33 32 31 30 and now 29!

Nataliej1984 · 04/09/2018 08:42

Update from me: cd 90 still no af, just been to see my doctor and he says 3 missed cycles is what he would see as needing some blood work done, they don't test for pregnancy on bloods anymore as the Hpt's are that good. He's looking for liver, thyroid and things like that changing.

He said take a hpt every 2 weeks in case a pregnancy does develop. He also said is really normal for women to miss 2 cycles for no reason and they just come back with no warning and quite heavy. It has to come back eventually as there is a risk of infection so it will start on its own.

I've been for my bloods this morning too.

Most of the bloods back by today so he will call me if anything appears, if nothing in the bloody just monitor it for the next few months with hpt's and wait it out.

Welcom @HappyRambler don't worry about the lingo it comes to you quickly 😊

@veeboo Sorry your out but the count down starts again Thanks

HallowsandHorcruxes · 10/09/2018 15:55

Hiya, hope everyone is doing well Smile
In the TWW now for me and CD 27, going to wait until at least the weekend before testing - maybe Grin
Temp has been a bit higher than normal and had some cramping this morning but not going to get my hopes up too much just incase.
How is everyone getting on?

Peacock14 · 10/09/2018 21:31

Hi ladies!! So sorry again... I don’t check on here because I’m still not getting notifications so I assume nothings happening! Any updates anyone? So sorry to hear you’re missing periods @nataliej1984! Keeping everything crossed for you.

I’m currently CD27 and this is the first time I’ve felt tempted to test, I got two cheapies from Tesco today so may test in the morning or on Wednesday. I literally don’t feel a thing again though. Extremely tired but when am I not Grin

We only had sex twice this last month which is the complete opposite of July but I’m pretty sure we hit ovulation. I’m less hopeful but still a possibility x

Hi ladies,

How is everyone? I'm still waiting for af cycle day 96 for me. I had bloods but no call from the doc so I assume everything is ok!

@Peacock14 please keep us all updated on when you test and @HallowsandHorcruxes you both seem to be on the same day no??

Baby dust to you both for when you test ☺️

Peacock14 · 11/09/2018 09:28

Yeah we are! I tested this morning but nothing happened, nothing in the control window or anything. I probably won’t test again because I’m due on today so will just wait, just wanted to get my first test out of my system! Sounds like we all have to sit and wait patiently 😩 x

Darma87 · 11/09/2018 23:24

Fingers crossed for everyone this cycle! I'm cd10 cycle 6 and plan on track my ovulation properly now I'm back from holiday and hoping to have a normal cycle this time. Hoping holiday relaxation will make this the one!
