Thanks ladies! It's crazy how upset I get thinking about it. Even now. And I should be so thankful for this new pregnancy. (Which I am) But it doesn't fix the last one. Sorry I shouldn't rant on here. Because I know you'd all rather be in my position.

I like the name in sand idea. Although we never had a name as we were only 8weeks.
Or the candle burning all day.

Love you guys so much. You're amazing women. Xx

Cakelaur · 10/08/2018 18:22

@Boboelephant if you test before Monday.... no cake for you!!! 😂

Boboelephant · 10/08/2018 18:32

@Cakelaur it's not crazy, June 22nd should have been my the first birthday for my first loss and it was still so painful even 18 months on. We love these babies from the very start and will continue to do so even when they've gone. You could just write baby or angel if you wanted to write something.
Haha to be honest I thought you would be the one egging me on to test!!! But if there is a promise of cake I'll try and hold off until at least Tuesday!

zarala · 10/08/2018 20:30

Ooh @Boboelephant those symptoms do sound promising- but I agree- hold off as long as you can. We're all here rooting for you! Fingers crossed so so tightly

@Cakelaur I just don't think guys have the same journey we do when it comes to this making a baby game... I love @strawberrye a idea of writing in the sand/ even if it's just the date. I let off a balloon for my first one (we would have shared birthdays) it wasn't planned just happened and it was a moment of release for me- I really felt like I was able to let go and move on- does that sound selfish? Anyway I think it's a lovely think to commemorate however you decide !

@strawberrye ooh JKS! Fx for you!
I actually LOVE grapefruit juice - and I honestly went into different shops everyday trying to find some and just couldn't! Even m&s didn't have it! I was really disappointed haha

When is the pineapple supposed to enter our diets? I am dpo 4 now - should I be getting all tropical in here from now? 🏝 🍍

Also a question for you temping queens- this month my temps have not really gone up a lot since ovulation...kinda staying close to the cover line and today dipped under! last month it jumped up and stayed high... is this a bad sign? 😬

LilacIris · 10/08/2018 20:45

So much to catch up on but whilst I read back through, I hope everyone is ok. I’m in the 2ww and bored of it. I doubt I conceived this month anyway due to timings but that still doesn’t stop me hoping and reading too much into non existent signs.

@zarala is there any chance that you woke up or were disturbed to have distorted your true temperature? Otherwise, I hate to say it, but I’ve never got a BFP on a month that temps haven’t stayed high. But maybe the recent heatwave has thrown everything out, even though it shouldn’t affect our BBTs.

Boboelephant · 10/08/2018 21:17

Thanks @zarala! I will wait, I will wait....
Can you post your chart so we can have a look? Best time to eat the pineapple core is 1-5dpo so I'd get on it. Can't hurt to have it for a few more days.

doddlebobs · 10/08/2018 21:31

Sorry for radio silence everyone, I've been retreated inside myself. Will try and catch up on the news - I hope I've missed some BFP!hugs to those who got bfn and fx for the 2ww!

For me, the post chemical AF is over and already had a negative pregnancy test today. Managed to call and cancel my reassurance scan. I have a number to call for counselling and will probably try to register next week.

Thank you to all that gave me kind words, I needed them, I wept a little over all of you and for all of us. This is brutal. But I'm so glad to have found you

Xx

doddlebobs · 10/08/2018 21:34

A question - what basal thermometer does anyone recommend?

Does anyone use natural cycles? I'm thinking I'm in fertility tracking for the long term as if / when I'm done with babymaking, I like to think I'll continue to use it to avoid the most fertile time!!

zarala · 10/08/2018 21:49

@doddlebobs I have never used natural cycles the app-if that's what you're talking about. But I used my own knowledge of my cycle for over 10 years successfully to not conceive...

@Boboelephant ooh I'll get on the pineapple tomorrow 🍍 🍍 🍍

I've posted my chart this month and last month so you can see the big difference

@LilacIris yes I have had disturbed sleep this past week, the heat but also my little one is teething maybe? Don't know but I've had very disturbed sleep- maybe that's what it is 😬

@doddlebobs I hope seeing that negative test today was ok. I always found the first one to be really upsetting. I got a cheap bbt thermometer from Amazon that works well. The main problem for me is not doing anything in the night to alter the reading. Also, yes I do natural cycles. After so many pregnancies, I know when you avoid if I wasn’t hoping to conceive. I would never recommend it to somehow you felt having another child was not an option, but then what contraception is 100%?

zarala · 10/08/2018 21:52

Oops pressed send too early...
meant to say it is early days in my cycle and Ff may move the cover line down... who knows let's see!

I managed to catch up finally on some not all I have missed over the past week

Really sounds like a lot of us are struggling and going through tough times

Sending hugs and strength to you all
Big penguin 🐧 huddle

Martydog · 10/08/2018 23:36

Af reared her head today and it has really hit me.today. But I am now thinking more positive so I am determined to do something different as both times I got pregnant it was after something new.

So this my normal routine 5mg folic acid, pregnancy multivitamins, aspirin, progesterone cream, pineapple dpo 1 - 5. So what can I add to this?

Boboelephant · 11/08/2018 06:54

@doddlebobs hope you're doing ok. At least your body is getting back on track. I use a cheap bbt thermometer I bought off Amazon. Brand is baby mad, it was about £4 and it works great. I use fertility friend to chart.
@zarala I don't think you need to worry yet. I looked back on a few of my charts and quite often they take a few days to get going and I often have fall back rise around 2-4 dpo. Also charts can vary quite alot from month to month due to heat, sleep etc. Wait and see what it does this morning.
Yep it feels like it has been a tough few weeks for lots of us without much happy news. I'm feeling a bit less hopeful today as temp plunged today but trying not to read too much into it. Time will tell.
@Martydog sorry af got you. Be kind to yourself today. Maybe you could try fertility superfoods? Grapefruit juice? Acupuncture or reiki? Fertility yoga?

zarala · 11/08/2018 07:30

@Boboelephant thanks for looking at my chart. This morning I woke up right on time without disturbance! But of course my thermometer was nowhere to be found! 🙄 ended up on the floor on dh's side somehow. decided to take my temps anyway to see what was going on- and temps have stayed the same!
This sounds like not enough progesterone is being produced 😣
Also apparently the steroids I'm on can lower bbt- but not sure how this affects chances.
Dpo5 today- and starting to think this isn't going to happen as quickly as I am used to... 😐

Boboelephant · 11/08/2018 08:01

@zarala that's a bit frustrating. You can always start on the wellsprings progesterone cream that half of us are on if you think low progesterone is an issue. Interesting that your steroids can impact your bbt. Maybe a question for Dr S?
My temps have been so up and down this month that FF is saying it can't even describe a trend. So I do know your frustration! I will stay hopeful for us both.

sweetpea0318 · 11/08/2018 08:41

@martydog I take CoQ10 & inositol which are meant to help with egg quality, omega 3, evening primrose oil in the lead up to ovulation & pregnacare conception. I found the book ‘it starts with an egg’ quite helpful with deciding on supplements as it’s a bit of a minefield, particularly if you start googling things. I’m also trying to cut down on sugar and starting to follow a low gi diet as I’ve recently been diagnosed with pcos.

zarala · 11/08/2018 08:48

@Boboelephant ooh maybe I will... dr s has given me progesterone suppositories to start from BFP- so I will ask him what he thinks...
Let's see how the next week goes - will try and stay hopeful for both of us too!

Mistymeow · 11/08/2018 09:12

@boboelephant we aren't twins this month! I'm 4dpo and ovulated cd21. Your symptoms sound promising but I think you're right to delay testing as I remember last month's disappointment. Fx.

@zarala do you have regular cycles? My bbt temps have been a bit wacky since mmc so I assume it's hormones regulating. My chart this month looks like the rocky mountains! Have you had your progesterone levels checked? Sometimes I wonder whether temping just causes me more stress than it's worth.

Boboelephant · 11/08/2018 09:52

Fingers crossed @zarala.
@Mistymeow i know! We're all out of whack this month as you ovulated later than expected. I'm 10dpo today and a mixed back of emotions! You're totally right though. I get such promising (and deceiving!) symptoms so I should ignore them. I will wait, especially as temp went down today anyway. Fx for us both!!

Boboelephant · 11/08/2018 10:09

Haha not sure what a mixed back is.... 😂 *mixed bag

zarala · 11/08/2018 10:18

@Mistymeow well this is only my second and a half month temping-
My cycles have been regular and thankfully quite regular after these MCs.
I had all hormones tested except progesterone because dr s said he gives progesterone to all his patients anyway so no need to test. All other hormones were normal...
I am just a bit surprised at how low my temps are at this stage- but who knows maybe my thermometer is broken? Haha
Maybe it's the steroids?
Time will tell!
But it's a big change from last month when my temps were much higher than cover line!

@Boboelephant Let's hope your temps don't drop any further.... 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

TedLife · 11/08/2018 12:43

7 days of flashing smileys (and a whole lot of jks) and finally on day 8 I got a static, my last stick in the box too. Could this all be meant to be? Or is Mother Nature throwing shit at me now just for the fun of it...?! 🕺 Relieved to finally get it and DH is relieved the marathon is nearly over 😂

strawberrye · 11/08/2018 13:58

@TedLife good effort, just a couple more days jks and you will have well and truly covered your bases! We are doing smep this month so just waiting for the solid smiley to switch to a 3 day solid shag-a-thon!

zarala · 11/08/2018 14:18

Yay@TedLife may the JKS continue!
We did smep this month too@strawberrye

Fx to us all

I am dpo5 and feeling the cray cray creep!

🙇🏻‍♀️

LilacIris · 11/08/2018 14:39

Odd question, I know, but does anyone use IC and ClearBlue opks at the same time? If so, do you get your positives on the same day or are they apart?
