Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Oh @angelazul what a complete fucker! I am truly gutted for you. 😞

rosti · 29/09/2018 23:15

Hello everyone, how's it going?

DH and I have started trying in the last few days. It's a little odd (in a good way!) to be having unprotected sex for the first time after several years making sure we were carefully protected. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it's a little gross and going to take some getting used to Blush

coribeth · 09/10/2018 10:15

Hope every one is doing OK been absent of late so bit behind the times @experiment627 belated congratulations!!
@angelazul sorry to hear about your ivf how many cycles do you get?
We are just at the start of the first cycle not loving it so far the whole no unprotected sex thing is killing us! Hopefully that will be the worst part Hmm #livinginhope!

angelazul · 10/10/2018 14:22

@coribeth good luck with the treament, when is ec? We only get 1 funded cycle, which we had last year, so everything now has been to be self-funded. Tbh, I'm not entirely convinced we'll do another cycle - I'm a poor responder & no-one seems to be able to give us any reason for this. We're looking at all our other options now & hoping for a miracle.

coribeth · 13/10/2018 00:16

@angelazul Not sure yet have just finished course of norethisterone and am having a baseline scan on Tuesday so am presuming that I will be starting the injections of meriofert then? We have to self fund be our consultant told us to get in touch with access fertility so we basically get two cycles for the price of one plus fet in between if you have spare eggs still pricey though but worth a go! We tried clomid but I had a poor response to that only ever got one decent follicle which was no difference to my natural cycle so hoping this goes better! Hope you find a solution it all seems so unfair at times Sad

angelazul · 15/10/2018 14:49

@coribeth good luck with scan tomorrow, & good news about the costs! It can really add up & get bloody expensive very quickly.
I had a poor response in my icsi cycles, only 1 egg both times Sad And as yet no-one can explain why, or suggest any other protocol that might work better. We're in Belfast & there's only 2 fertility clinics here, which both have the same docs/consultants, so I don't hold out much hope with what's on offer locally. Travel-wise, Dublin would be our next closest place with maybe a few more options. We're currently looking at a clinic there which specialises in na-pro technology & really intensive testing on both partners (we've a diagnosis of mfi, so very few tests done on me). Our other option is a urologist in London who specialises in treating mfi, rather than just going down ivf/icsi route. Maybe grasping at straws, but I'm not quite ready to give up hope yet!

coribeth · 16/10/2018 18:44

@angelazul That totally sucks its so frustrating not having real answers isn't it my dp had slightly low motility that's the only thing they could really find wrong other than having tried for six years with no success whatsoever! Our consultant is actually an andrologist not gynaecologist but I guess only time will tell if that helps!!
Scan went well no cysts good amount of antral follicles seen and uterus lining looks OK apparently so can start meriofert tomorrow so feel like we are getting somewhere! Not even thinking about it not working right now!

coribeth · 23/10/2018 22:49

So I'm now taking the cetrotide in the morning and everytime I inject a bit leaks back out I've tried everything I can think of but keeps happening does anyone know is this normal or anyone used it and it happened to them? 🤔

coribeth · 29/10/2018 09:59

So just had my egg collection only got three but guess that's better than none!

coribeth · 30/10/2018 16:53

So not great news today had terrible time after egg collection ended up back in hospital as I could not control the pain and kept vomiting had to convert to icsi as not enough sperms in sample and then got a call this morning to say one egg not mature enough for icsi one didn't survive the process and the last one failed to fertilise they did say there is a small chance it may fertilise over night so will keep an eye on it and call again tomorrow but not holding out much hope totally gutted..... Sad

angelazul · 30/10/2018 18:14

@coribeth shit, I'm sorry. But I'll keep everything crossed for better news tomorrow

coribeth · 31/10/2018 17:31

So the roller-coaster continues..... @angelazul slightly better news today embryologist says they have one clear ring of DNA and one faint one which apparently means it's fertilised but they still don't know if its viable so will let me know Saturday if it gets to blast stage and if so will go for implantation the same day feel exhausted! Sad

angelazul · 02/11/2018 17:12

@coribeth jeez that is a rollercoaster & a half Shock Gx for good news tomorrow.

We've finally got date for our review appt, not that I'm expecting much from it.

coribeth · 02/11/2018 18:11

@angelazul I hope you get some answers and some sort of plan in place the whole thing is such a roller coaster. I don't really understand why they got only three eggs this cycle as they seemed to think I'd had a good response to the stims? Have had no word from the hospital so assuming no news is good news? Guessing I'll know one way or another tomorrow but not feeling very positive tbh Confused

angelazul · 04/11/2018 12:10

@coribeth how was your news yesterday?

coribeth · 04/11/2018 12:33

Not great but pretty much what I was expecting it had failed to show much progress so was deamed non viable just have to pick ourselves up dust ourselves off and try again Sad

angelazul · 04/11/2018 15:56

@cori I'm so sorry, take good care of yourself Flowers

FuzzyOwl · 19/11/2018 22:52

Oh @coribeth, I’m sorry to hear that.

I hope your review appointment goes well @angelazur

NameChange30 · 23/07/2019 21:36

Evening all... sorry to jump in, but I'm hoping to revive the thread! I'm an oldie (was a JSer in 2016) and I'm thinking about TTC again. I can see some familiar names so I'll read back and see how you're all doing.

NameChange30 · 23/07/2019 21:42

Sorry how could I forget...

Name: Name
Age: 33
DC: DS aged 2 (a JS-ing baby)
TTC: Not quite yet but imminent (gx)

DS was a big shock to the system and it took me a while to feel ready to TTC #2... for a while DH was adamant that he didn't want another but thankfully he has now decided that he does... we have just been talking about starting SOON hence getting ahead of myself and finding the thread!

NameChange30 · 24/07/2019 07:27

So just finished catching up...

@Experiment627
VERY belated congratulations! I was so happy to read about your news! How are you and DS now?

@coribeth
Sorry you had such a hard time with the IVF. How have you been since then?

How is everyone else doing? (Is anybody there?!)

Experiment627 · 24/07/2019 09:37

@NameChange30 we are doing good thanks - Kwicklet starts nursery in a couple of weeks 😱😱😱😱😱

NameChange30 · 24/07/2019 11:00

Shock How did that happen?! How old is Quicklet now? My DS is 2y4m and he started nursery at 9m, he loves it!

NameChange30 · 24/07/2019 11:01

I feel bad for missspelling Kwicklet even though it's not his actual name Grin

NameChange30 · 12/09/2019 14:25

Is anybody there?!
