Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

This thread is hilarious! I would very much like to join in once my ERTD finished (why have I not been calling it that my whole life?!)

Experiment627 · 23/02/2018 18:03

@angelazul I took DHEA whilat under the supervision of CRGH but the consultant at IVI took me off it quick smart - saying recent evidence suggested an increase in eggs, not of quality. I have some left if you want to try?

LG93 · 23/02/2018 21:26

Thanks coribeth! And welcome stephisaur.

Wondering whether to test again tomorrow (cd45 - last tested cd32) or wait until next weekend if AF still hasn't arrived. Don't like testing on weekdays as makes me miserable at work if it's negative!

Was sick in my breakfast yesterday, and been a scatterbrain all week I've got a cold and sinusitis so not feeling great anyway so it's more likely that... But at the same time even by my eratic cycle standards this is late...

LG93 · 24/02/2018 08:34

Still negativeSad

Experiment627 · 25/02/2018 07:06

Really sorry @LG93 Thanks

LG93 · 25/02/2018 07:54

Thanks experiment. AF arrived last night which was actually a bit of a relief, because it means I can move on with the next cycle rather than wondering what my body is up to all the time!

Stephisaur · 25/02/2018 11:05

Sorry to hear that LG23 Flowers

Stephisaur · 26/02/2018 15:20

Just realised I can't read @LG93 - can't tell the difference between a 2 and a 9 apparently Hmm

So my withdrawal bleed has finished and last night I had the first fully unprotected sex of my life. Still getting my head around the fact that it's ok to not be taking the pill, having spent the last 10 years religiously trying to prevent pregnancy lmao

Experiment627 · 07/03/2018 16:36

My dear viroids apologies for being AWOL.

I had my viability scan last week - all good - heartbeat, movement, right measurements. Then I got sick with the lurgy and it was awful as could not dose up on usual drugs.

Then on Monday pm I started bleeding - got seen at an EPU - Kwicklet is ok, Dr thought it was a ruptured blood vessel from the placenta.

I started bleeding again last night. Kwicklet is still fine - I have a bleed in womble. Apparently this is all very common but I tell you this has completely thrown me. I am exhausted and very worried.

I have my booking in appt this Friday and 12 week scan in a couple of weeks but at this rate I will be in hospital every other day 😬

I do just want to say that on Monday the EPU at UCLH refused to see me as they had shut for the day. I went on to the Whittington and they were amazing with me, again today.

coribeth · 08/03/2018 22:15

@Experiment627 that sucks can only imagine how worried you are but on a positive note little kwicklet is hanging in there gx for you both easier said than done but try not to stress yourself out too much xxx

LG93 · 09/03/2018 11:17

Sorry you're feeling poorly experiment but glad to hear kwicklet is doing well.

Not much to report here. Had another 45 day cycle last month. Currently in process of moving. Pipe burst in new house on Saturday and as house is currently empty wasn't discovered for several hours until I went up with paint samples in the evening so that is ruined and needs repairing before we can move in but need to be out of our place by the 19th march so that's taking up most of my energy. Havent had much energy to dedicate to TTC (mentally or physically!) And I'm so stressed currently I don't think it would happen anyway!

Estate manager responsible for house asked if we wanted to plan and decorate a room as a nursery. Said no as don't want to tempt fate but I think I kind of assumed I'd be pregnant by now so disappointed that I'm not. Also next person to ask "when are you having kids now youve got that big house to fill?" Is liable to be punched in the throat 🙈😩🙄

Hope you're all well viroids!

angelazul · 14/03/2018 13:39

@experiment that all sounds awful & very stressful. Take good care of yourself. I've done a bit more research into dhea & decided against it for the time being (mainly cos I'm a bit of a scaredey cat), but thank you for the offer!

Welcome @steph. I was the same when I 1st came off the pill, sex ed did a very good job of brainwashing me lol

@lg wanting to punch someone in the throat is perfectly reasonable, especially with all your other stress.

Rang fc today to chase up appt that I've been waiting on for 3 months to get amh results, but apparently I'm not going to be seen until next month Angry Someone pass the Wine please

Stephisaur · 14/03/2018 17:44

@angela I’m out of wine, can I interest you in some gin? Gin

@lg - I agree, punching very much allowed!

I’m not enjoying the return of my natural hormones, my body is doing some weird stuff 😂 AF due next week (hopefully) but if she doesn’t come I can’t test until the weekend after anyway 😭

coribeth · 17/03/2018 00:03

So first consultation at fc today feeling quite positive like our new consultant much more than the last one we have to have a load more tests but was kinda expecting that but least we are going in the right direction!

Catscatsandmorecats · 20/03/2018 10:07

Ahhhh @just congratulations!!!!

Experiment627 · 25/03/2018 11:19

@justtheonethen you are getting ready to get the bun out of the oven soon then? How exciting!!!

Kwicklet and I have not been having an easy time of things - in and out if hospital due to bleeding in the womble. Apparently it is vair common but have yet to find one person who has experienced it before 😬
Anyhoo 12 week scan next Tuesday.

Happy Sunday everyone!

justtheonethen · 25/03/2018 14:18

Experiment she’s well and truly out! Came 3 weeks early weighing 5lb3oz. She’s perfect!

Sorry to hear about the bleeding. Will keep everything crossed that it’s just one of those things.

Catscatsandmorecats · 25/03/2018 21:45

I'm good thanks just, massively sleep deprived as the now 6 month old DS2 is still a massive sleep theif but I wouldn't have it any other way, I'm very happy.

experiment so exciting about kwicklet, I know it is terrifying when things like that happen and must be hard to let yourself enjoy it but please try to. I do know people who have had the same and have lovely bubbas now. Good luck for Tuesday sends positive vibes

HelloViroids · 26/03/2018 19:09

Hi all, I have nc to keep my TTC life separate from rest of Mumsnet (don’t want anyone who recognises my other posts to know I’m TTC!)

Age: 32
No DC
Cycle 3 of TTC since came off the pill in Jan
Have recto-vaginal endometriosis, so was told a 50% chance of having an “inhospitable environment” for sperm Sad

Have done one OPK ever (today, which was negative) but hoping you won’t hold just one against me?!

Would esp love to hear from any JSers who have come off the pill about how long it took for things to get back to normal, and anyone else with endo?!
