Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

How can you be almost 30 weeks @Experiment627?! I’m not sure there are many people whose journey I have felt as invested in! Other than the heat, how are things?

Hello and welcome @Dylan001

Experiment627 · 22/07/2018 14:23

@Dylan001 welcome!!!

@LilacIris I feel very chuffed you feel invested in my journey 😘😘😘😘 it has been a long hard slog and I still am not truly getting that Kwicklet will be here soon... I pray all day long there will be no more hiccups speaking of which I had a scan a few weeks ago where they detected above normal levels of amniotic fluid. I have another scan soon to see if they can determine why...

LilacIris · 22/07/2018 16:13

I hope you aren’t waiting long for your scan @Experiment627 and all turns out to be ok. Have you been tested for gestational diabetes?

Rubberduckies · 23/07/2018 06:29

Welcome @dylan

Rubberduckies · 23/07/2018 06:37

Oops! New phone and I wondered what the paper plane button was. Turns out it was send!!

Welcome @Dylan101 it's so nice to see a new face, the thread used to be so busy and it got quieter and quieter!

When is your scan @experiment
626? Good luck for it. I have to say I am also incredibly invested in your kwicklet!

@angel I didn't know your dh had antibodies too. Does he know any likely causes? Mine couldn't think of anything which I think made it worse! When do you start your next cycle? Gingers crossed!

So I've got android now and the app is different. How do I tag people?

angelazul · 23/07/2018 08:17

Welcome @Dylan001 Smile

@Experiment627 gx it all goes well with the next scan. Hope you're keeping that pma going!

@LilacIris when are you due to test?

@Rubberduckies dh has not idea of what caused them either, it kinda makes it that bit harder to accept. We'll be starting mid-end August. We go on hols next week, so whenever af rocks up after that.

LilacIris · 23/07/2018 09:57

You managed to tag @Rubberduckies and I don’t think it is to do with your phone - the app layout has changed for me as well and I still have the same phone as I have had for years.

How are things with you @angelazul? AF arrived over the weekend, so I have ordered loads of tests in the hope next cycle is my bfp.

It’s really nice to see this thread having a surge in use again. Everyone seems to be on Facebook now, so it has been so quiet here.

Experiment627 · 23/07/2018 10:50

@LilacIris scan not until 2 August. I have had glucose intolerance test and all ok.

Some of my other TTC threads migrated to Whatsapp - much easier to stay in touch but I have great affection for this thread - the DARK SIDE of MN!!!!

LilacIris · 23/07/2018 11:46

My GTT in my last pregnancy was clear as well but I worried constantly about having GD anyway. Glad you’ve already been tested and hopefully the extra fluid isn’t anything to worry about @Experiment627. I have a huge affection for this thread and also the graduate one. In the times I be dipped in and out, I’ve had two babies and a miscarriage. Some of the other threads moved too fast for me and others were too slow, but this one was already just right and with such great ladies.

LilacIris · 03/08/2018 12:44

How are things @Experiment627?

Experiment627 · 07/08/2018 11:15

I had foetal medicine scan on Thursday - all good with Kwicklet- phew!
I am 32 weeks tomorrow 😬
Feeling a bit meh today - maybe having another hormone surge 🤢

LilacIris · 10/08/2018 20:48

Glad all is good with Kwicklet. Thirty two weeks already?! That seems to have flown by. How are you feeling now @Experiment627

AliceScarlett · 12/08/2018 17:57

32 weeks!! Amazing. I'm so excited for you x

Experiment627 · 14/08/2018 06:44

I am good ladies - so glad only 10 working days left! I find it very tiring getting my 44 year old butt in to work each day!

Hope all is well in the hood!

JLG19 · 14/08/2018 07:23

Hellooo please can I join? I'll be TTC #2 from end of September. I think AF is due on 26 August, and after that I'll be starting to take pregnancy multivitamins (with the much needed Folic Acid) to be in the best place and ready to go from the following cycle.

Someone posted up thread about TTC threads migrating to WhatsApp. The same happened when I was TTC #1, I was part of a lovely group on here but then they all buggered off. Not for me!

IsItCoffeeTimeYet · 21/08/2018 09:20

Can I join? Is the Fred dead?!

Name: Coffee
DC: DS (3), DD (1.5)
TTC: cycle 1

So after being adamant that 2 was enough for us both DH and I, at the same time, changed our thinking so we're going for it.

Currently in TWW, and even though we probably didn't DTD around icing, and it took a while to conceive DS & DD, I've still managed to get my hopes up! ERTD due 27th, feels like soooo long to wait!

Please, everyone come back and talk to me!

FuzzyOwl · 29/08/2018 09:41

Hello @JLG19 and @IsItCoffeeTimeYet how are you? I shouldn’t really be here but do intermittently lurk to see how everyone is.

@Experiment627 how are you finding maternity leave? How is Kwiklet?

Experiment627 · 29/08/2018 17:08

Welcome newbies!!!

My maternity leave does not start until mid September- until then I am on "holiday" 🤓
First day of hols today - visited a nursery, tried to get on with decluttering and am about to go have dinner with cousin... tomorrow I am going swimming and then on a day trip!

How are you doing @FuzzyOwl?

angelazul · 09/09/2018 12:19

Hey everyone, how are we all doing? Welcome to the newbies!

@experiment you must be close to maternity leave now?

So I've been lying low while we've been doing our 2nd icsi cycle. I was a poor responder in our last cycle & found this cycle quite mentally tough. Yet again I had 5 good sized follies but only got 1 egg at EC on Thursday. Thankfully it fertilised & I now have a top grade embie on board. Any tips for the 2ww would be very welcome Smile

Mseddy · 09/09/2018 23:48

Well this thread is totally the place for me!! I'm the kind of person who wakes up at 6am one morning for work and then sleeps until 12 the next day (I know I'm in for a Hell of a shock if this thing works!) so all that temping business at the same time each morning isn't for me. I can't hold my pee in for an hour, let alone the 3 you need for them opk stick, plus I'm just not an elegant pee on a stick kind of person (it's ok we have tiled bathrooms) And lastly I couldn't not DTD with my husband because an app didn't tell me it was the right time to do so! So I'm on here to learn a little, but not alot!! And DTD whenever (and maybe even wherever) in the hopes of BFP number one! :)

coribeth · 17/09/2018 23:32

Hi all and welcome newbies!! I've been somewhat absent for a while totally up to our eyeballs right now had a little bit of work done in the house which ended up in a lot of work and money Sad and at the moment no kitchen while the builders sort out problems which is challenging to say the least!! And in the middle of all this ivf just waiting for the date for my first drug appointment as cd1 today so feels like both the end of a very long road and the beginning of another one!!! Hmm how's everyone else getting on??

Experiment627 · 19/09/2018 09:01

@angelazul this is great news! Do you want me to dig out my "patent pending" 2ww list?

Welcome @Mseddy!!!

Viroids: Kwicklet decided to come early! Waters broke on Monday night (37+6) and I finally got a slot in theatre last night. I am a mum!!! Kwicklet - yet to be named - is a lovely little boy!!! Currently asleep on my boobage - have done skin to skin all night 😍

angelazul · 19/09/2018 15:26

Absolute fantastic news @experiment, massive congratulations Star

Welcome @mseddy

Good luck @cori

I'm so over this 2ww already, feels like it's been going on for about a month Sad

FuzzyOwl · 20/09/2018 08:35

That’s wonderful news @Experiment627 and I knew there was a reason why I checked this thread today!

angelazul · 23/09/2018 15:22

How's everyone doing?

Our 2nd round of IVF has failed, feeling so so fucked off with everything right now
