Anyone want to join in the ups and downs of the 2ww this month?

Im 2/3 dpo, so AF due 25th/26th July. A bit unsure when I ovulated - got positive opk on cd10, temp drop cd11, temp rise cd12 which has continued until today (cd14). Natural cycles thinks I ov'd on cd12 but I think it's more likely to be 11 - what do you think? Anyhow, we only managed to hs once during my fw this month (it was on cd10 very late at night so poss good timing!), so I'm sure our chances this month are slim, but that won't stop me holding out hope.

I'll join you!

Lost track of what cycle I'm on as I have very long irregular ones but we have been trying just over a year. This month is my first month on clomid and I ovd on CD14 so I am really pleased!

CD17
3dpo

We also only managed to DTD once during fertile week due to DH being ill but it was the evening of CD12 and I'm 99% sure based on CM and OPK that I ovd on CD14 so hopefully have some hope!!

When are you planning on testing?

cannonball8726 · 13/07/2017 23:04

Hey Katie and happybus! Also just started the TWW. AF due on 23rd July. I think 2DPO today.

31 years old
Cycle 5
TTC #1

We used SMEP this month for the first time. It's pretty intense! Will probably do it again next month too. I am sorry, I have not done any temping before Katie so not sure what to make of your temperatures! We are just using clearblue dual hormone OPKs. I won't be doing any pregnancy tests - I haven't done any before- normally just wait for AF to rear her frustrating head! Last month my AF came 3 days early which was a really nice surprise...

happybus28 · 14/07/2017 07:01

I've never tried the SMEP but from what I've read about it it does sound pretty intense. We just aim for every other day through most of cycle usually. Just not really worked that way this month as DH has been unwell.

I also don't temp, I tried too but I'm a nightmare for forgetting to do the min I wake up and i don't want to have to wake up early on my days off lol! I generally track OV with my CM and OPKs plus my boobs....this cycle I EWCM lasted Fri-Mon, positive OPK on Sun and my boobs started feeling uncomfortable from Tues. I always have very tender boobs after ovulation that lasts most of the TWW so based on all this I figure I ovulated at some point on Monday.

I want to try and avoid testing early too but with AF being due on a Monday I think I'll probably cave at the weekend (22nd or 23rd) and test then. Depends how I'm feeling and if I've had any spotting I suppose as I usually start spotting a few days before AF arrives so if at the weekend I've had no spotting ill test then.

katiegd · 14/07/2017 07:36

I do always aim to hold out to test until AF is late but it's been hard the last few times and I've caved a day or so early (always bfn of course). How about you?

Might get some internet cheapies to waste on early testing Grin.

I've looked at SMEP and think it sounds like a good idea but not sure DP could handle scheduled sex - he likes spontaneity and I think would be put off. That said, we need to change something as we are not dtd nearly enough each cycle. We do both have really emotionally demanding jobs (both working in different ways with people affected by trauma) which means one or the other is often not in the mood. Next month we'll be away on holiday together so hoping it could be a good time (although clearly I'm holding out hope for our one shag this month).

Can I join?
My period is due on the 26/27 of July

19 years old
Cycle day 13
TTC#1
I know I seem young to be trying for a baby been with my partner for just over a year now and planning to move in together and we would both love a little one to complete are little family ( me him and my 2 year old)
My cycles have always been over the place sometimes being 23 days and sometimes being 31 days but recently have ranged from 23-26 we dtd from days 7-13 so hopefully we have or will catch the egg! Good luck to you all when are you all going to test ? I think I'll cave in about 8dpoas I will be to excited although it only being are first month trying I'm feeling it may not happen

MeadowDream · 14/07/2017 16:36

Hi! Can I join in? We casually started trying this month. Not tracked ovulation exactly, but we dtd CD14 and CD19 with ovulation around CD18 according to my period tracker app. (30-31 day cycles usually, although last month was 27 days!)

Age: 31
TTC #1
Cycle 1
AF / BFP due 23rd July

I know I'm unlikely to be successful first month, but still hoping! Not sure how early to test or even what tests to use??! Today is CD23 so I could potentially do an early test, as I seen one online to test six days early, but not sure how well it would work? So new to all this! Every slight pain or anything I'm thinking this could be it! I'm gunna turn into a crazy poas lady aren't I?! 😂😂

happybus28 · 14/07/2017 23:08

katie it is hard to wait for AF to be due/late isn't it. I've managed it 1 month but generally tend to cave about 12dpo. I'm not sure my DP could handle the scheduled sex either, we are definitely more spontaneous!

Welcome kittykat and meadow* if you have to test early I wouldn't bother testing anything earlier than 11 dpo as the chance of a false negative is so high at that point. As said above I usually test from 12dpo. As for which tests I have some cheaply internet one step ones which I use when testing early as I don't wanna waste money on more expensive ones lol! I also have a FRER and a Clearblie digi but am saving those for if I get any sort of squinter on a cheapy one or if AF is late.

Kittykat789 · 15/07/2017 08:44

I will just try wait knowing me I will give in does anyone understand what your temperature does when you ovulate sorry I'm a newbie to all this my temp from cycle day 1 has been 37-37.2 and this morning day 14 my temp was 36.8 does this mean I might ovulate today my cycles have been 25 days normally and my luteal phase is normally 13-14 days so surely it would be to late to ovulate today? I have no idea any advice would be great x

katiegd · 16/07/2017 15:53

Hi Kittykat789 and MeadowDream.

Kittykat - your temperature can't unfortunately predict when you will ovulate, it can only tell you when it's already happened, which is why it's best to use luteinising hormone (LH) tests (otherwise known as an ovulation predictor kit or opk) as well as temping. Basically the LH test tells you that you are likely to ovulate sometime in the next 24-48 hours, then a temp rise of .2 degrees C or more for three days confirms when you have (likely) ovulated.

Sometimes you get a dip in temperature just pre-ovulation but not reliably enough to plan by. Did you temp this morning?

OP posts:
happybus28 · 16/07/2017 15:55

I don't temp kitty so I don't really have any advice to give!

How's everyone feeling? Any symptoms? I am 6dpo today and have had a slight bit of spotting, just a bit of brown ish coloured CM in my underwear. Had no more since though so not quite sure what to make of it? Other than that and feeling very hot the past few days I feel fine!

katiegd · 16/07/2017 16:49

I'm also 6dpo happybus (decided I did most likely ov on cd11).

No symptoms really except some slight cramping this morning.

Fx it's implantation spotting for you!

How are you coping with the 2ww? I'm not too bad so far, but I always find the first week/10 days easy and start to get a bit mood-swingy and crazy after that.

OP posts:
happybus28 · 16/07/2017 17:19

FX for you too!! It's not been too bad this week, had some of DH's family visiting us this week so it's kept me busy and taken my mind off it! Been on my mind a lot today though now I've had this spotting but trying not to get my hopes up!

cannonball8726 · 16/07/2017 18:31

Hey all! Hope you're having good weekends.i think I'm 5dpo today. No symptoms to report. Happybus that sounds encouraging! Katie I think I'm generally pretty cool about things in the first week too. And then just lose it a bit when AF shows up :( normally end up having a little cry or at least feel down on the day because of the disappointment. Aren't hormones great?!

Next cycle is going to be a bit challenging for us. We have family staying for almost 3 weeks. As much as I am looking forward to it, I don't know if we are going to get much privacy during fertile period.

I'm pretty good at the no booze thing and have been trying to cut caffeine to the occasional caffeinated tea - but mostly drinking decaffeinated tea. Today had a caffeinated latte - first time in ages - feeling a bit jittery now! Think my caffeine tolerance is pretty poor now... Have you altered lifestyle habits much- and what have you found difficult?

happybus28 · 16/07/2017 19:39

Hope you manage to get some baby dancing in cannonball it's tricky situations like that isn't it! We've just had family staying this week and I was thinking that it would have been difficult if it was fertile week! You'll make it work though!

I've not made many lifestyle changes if I'm honest other than switching to decaf tea. I don't drink coffee or dizzy drinks really but normally have at least 5 cups of tea a day. Usually have a caffeinated one first thing but then decaf the rest of the day. I already have a relatively good diet and I exercise etc so don't really feel the need to make any changes where that's concerned. I take folic acid and vitaminB6.

MeadowDream · 16/07/2017 19:51

cannonball it's really difficult when family are around, we have been staying with family the last month between selling our house and buying new one and the bed we sleep in squeaks terrible Blush

I'm having a few "symptoms" but I am well aware I'm probably imagining them!! I'm either 7 or 8dpo today. I've got sore boobs that I don't normally get and they feel heavy tonight. Noticed some blue veins on one earlier that I've never seen before. Also felt a bit queasy before but it was very hot sat in car on car park with no ac on. Been having cramps to lower abdo but I've been constipated too (sorry tmi!!)

Im just worried that I'm making myself believe I could be pregnant and I'll be even more disappointed when I'm not Sad how does everyone cope with the tww and symptom spotting, it's killing me!!
Think I'm gunna cave and do a test on Tuesday when me and DP are both off work, and then wait til Friday if Bfn

katiegd · 18/07/2017 17:36

How's everyone doing today? I'm just into week 2 and starting to feel it. I'm suddenly low and unmotivated and can't cope with things that would normally be fine. Trying to maintain perspective that this will pass.

In terms of cutting things out, I haven't done too much of that tbh. I try not to drink during tww but don't deny myself the odd one if I feel like it. I think that changing my lifestyle dramatically would just serve as a constant reminder that I am TTC and that it's not happening, and would be more stressful!

Cannonball - having people to stay during fw is really tricky! Hope you manage a bit of privacy (or that this cycle is your lucky one!).

Meadow - I try to cope with symptom spotting by reminding myself that whether it's AF or early pregnancy, the symptoms can be basically the same and could be attributed to either! They're mostly caused by high progesterone which happens in both. That helps me not to get ahead of myself too much, but I still symptom spot.

Happybus - how is your symptom spotting?

OP posts:
cannonball8726 · 18/07/2017 18:01

happybus I think i am going to switch to taking folic acid and vitamin D alone. Currently my conception multivitamins are making me constipated! Can't wait til I finish the pack. Haha. I'm generally pretty good about eating well and exercising too! Have you had any more spotting?

Meadow haha, your squeaky bed! Hoping we'll manage to figure out a way of getting some privacy! Yep, I've been doing some symptom spotting in previous cycles and have felt really crushed when AF came. I have to admit I don't have any symptoms at all! I think I'm 8 dpo now. Did you test?

Katie you have a good approach to symptom spotting. Sorry you are feeling down. This TTC malarkey is bobbins. Really gruelling stuff. Go easy on yourself and have some good things to look forward to :) when are you due BFP/AF?

happybus28 · 18/07/2017 18:47

katie I know that feeling, I'm feeling exactly the same. It seems so near yet so far until I can test! I am having AF type cramps and a bit of spotting but other than that I feel fine. How about you?

cannonball yeah I was on a multivitamin but switched to just FA and Vitb for the same reason! Funny how it affects you isn't it! Had more spotting when I got up this morning but it had stopped by mid morning and not had any more since.

happybus28 · 19/07/2017 06:52

We'll just to add more mystery to my symptoms I woke up at 1 am with really really strong period cramps. Much much stronger than I've had at any point the last few days. I honestly went to the loo expecting full blown AF the way it felt but nothing....not even spotting. It lasted about 20 mins then I managed to fall back to sleep. I'm wide awake now on my day off which is annoying!! Been back to the loo and still no spotting and cramps back to being faint twinges as they have been all week. I am sooooo confused!!! 9 dpo today!

Tryingforanother · 19/07/2017 11:29

Hey ladies! Was just wondering if I could join? I'm on cd 20 af/bfp due on 27th July TTC#2 Cycle 12.. temping, using ovia and checking cm and cp! I have my fingers crossed for everyone to get their bfp this month! ☺️ Xx

cannonball8726 · 19/07/2017 11:53

happybus sounds encouraging. Fingers crossed!!!

Welcome trying for another! This cycle is dragging...! Fingers crossed for you too.

Tryingforanother · 19/07/2017 11:57

I hate the two week wait! It's so long!! Lol! Just wanna know either way 😂 Thank you

cannonball8726 · 19/07/2017 12:20

I know. I'm due AF this weekend. Not feeling at all positive. At least it's the weekend though so I can do some nice things to cheer myself up!

MeadowDream · 19/07/2017 12:35

BFNs for me, but I am testing too early I know. I'm 10dpo today and feeling ill and can't help but hope it's early signs. But most likely a virus Sad
I'm not going to test now until after AF is late because it's very disheartening seeing BFNs each day. I'm only cycle 1 so wasn't expecting much this month really, but still built my hopes up Sad
