No period or pregnancy symptoms :/??

Since coming off the pill I have had my period bang on time, arriving always on the 3Rd or 4th of each month. Therefore I was expecting my period to come today or yesterday (sat/sun).. Instead since Friday j have had odd bit of brown discharge which I've only noticed from wiping or once using a tampon for a few hours.. I've since been wearing a panty liner and had nothing show up.

I didn't expect to be considering pregnancy this month as I'm the pervious weeks we have been on holiday and avoiding pregnancy via the "pull out" technique. We were told by our nurse before going on holiday to avoid pregnancy until we returned and had a test for the Zika virus.

We hadn't had sex since coming home two weeks ago but haven't had the money to have the test for Zika yet.

Any thoughts on whether this sounds like pregnancy? I haven't really had any other symptoms x

It's possible, yes. Symptoms don't always show up early. I'd be taking a test just to rule it out.

Should I leave it a while before taking a test seen as I was due yesterday or today. I don't want to waste a test if I suddenly come on in next two days. It's just not my usual cycle as for last 5 months or so I've always come on 3Rd/4th x

Well May was a 31 day month so you would expect your date to be one day later than last month (April having 30 days). I'd test on 6th if still not here.

Woke up to no period still. When I had wee there was a brown splodge in loo but still nothing when I wipe or on my pad. Did a clear blue pregnancy test and it was negative :( x

I would try a pink dye test - first response if possible. It could be that your levels are still low. Clear blue test fairly high levels - I think 25. Apparently frer's test levels of 6. Then contact the doctor if that's negative.

Pink dye test? Not heard of that. Really bugging me not knowing if my period is coming or not and only getting odd brown when I wipe x

Basically any test with pink rather than blue dye as they tend to be more sensitive! First response test levels of 6, Superdrug early detection tests levels of 10 (both pink dye tests).

I get what you mean now. I've ordered more clear blue as well already without knowing the pink is better. I'll try get my hands on some and test asap but wondering whether or not to call doctors tomorrow... It's so hard to sit and wait :/ x

Brown discharge could be implantation bleeding and, if so, it might take a couple of days to have enough hcg to get a positive test.

I've been pregnant four times and my only sympathies are heartburn, headaches and missed periods.

Mmc at 8 weeks of twins in march. Chasing a very faint positive past few days so keeping my fx they get darker over the next week!

Vocal cat - Did you get the brown discharge too? I've not had symptoms but not having bad cramps like I usually get and I'm never late x

Thank you. Moving forward mostly now thankfully.

I've got sore breasts, nausea, fatigue. Also missed a period. I'm certain I'm pregnant again, I have that "feeling", I just really hope the tests get darker for my peace of mind and it gets off the ground, let alone getting further than 8 weeks this time!

Of you've got all those symptoms plus a faint line then it's looking very positive.. Have you booked into docs to get an early test and scan to be extra certain and careful as well? X

I've no symptoms but still no period throughout my night at work x

Woke up from my sleep after woke to a flow of red blood. So confused after 4 and half days of odd brown discharge when my period is always on time and usually is only light for an hour or do before full on period x what do you think guys? Is it worth talking to a doctor?

I'm not sure really... I did go to the doctor when I entirely skipped a period once but they still didn't do anything other than offer a test when I had my next af to check for ovulation, which I presume you must be doing because of your regular periods beforehand. Sorry not very helpful I know! Maybe see how next cycle goes?

Because you had a negative test, I'm not sure that they'd take it as a miscarriage it but if you feel more comfortable talking it through then definitely make an appointment. They may be able to put your mind at rest Smile

Sorry just realised you asked some questions yesterday! I'm not sure there's much point getting the doctor's to do a test - they're the same as the hpt's. They could do a blood test but as it's still early days I think I'll give it a while longer to show up darker on a hpt first I think. Unfortunately, they won't do an early scan in my area unless I have concerns like bleeding or cramping. I'm thinking of booking a private 10 week scan if I get that far!

Just confused with it not being like usual. Really want to get pregnant soon it's driving me crazy the month after month of not knowing, getting hopes up and then being disappointed :'( x it seems everyone around me is pregnant too x

Really hope you have better luck this time sweetie. I would definitely have a private scan asap to put your mind at ease it's much easier once you get to see them and know for certain your pregnant xx

I know exactly what you mean, it's so so tough and there are announcements all the time where people appear to be having an easy time. I try to remind myself that it may seem like someone has everything you want but you never know the battles they've faced behind closed doors. I really hope you get things sorted soon. So you've said that your period has started now? Is it normal albeit late?

Thank you. I was originally going to have one at 8 weeks but my mum is a midwife and was quite adamant that scans before 10 weeks can be risky because you're still at a fairly significant risk of mc. However, she's not had a mc and she's very matter of fact about everything. It really does change how you see everything. I'm trying to find little checkpoints to reach so hopefully that'll keep me settled enough.
