Hi ladies
I'm trying to conceive no. 2. My aim was to ttc from January of this year - however due to one thing or another (very stressful time at work!) I have not been giving it my all. I have now decided I need to focus on ttc no.2 as I am very conscious of the growing age gap! Please join for a friendly chat and to hopefully support each other!

Stats
Age - 35
Ttc - #2
CD - 21
DS - 3 years 10months!

Don't want to obsess about it! However I think it's inevitable!

I'm in FW too. Forgot opk this morning so will try later but think I'm ovulating. Good luck. DS's birthday in 2 weeks which will coincide with AF due date...

I'm sure I'm Ovulating tomorrow as I have the signs but this evenings opk was negative and so have the last 3 days. Going to keep DTD and hope for the best. Feel sick and dizzy so either I'm due a bfp in 2 weeks (I was sick the day after ovulating with DD) or I'm just ovulating at the moment

Hi, popping in for a catch up.

I'm going a bit crazy with all the symptom watching. Last month I finally got a positive from an OPK on CD9 (huh?! So early but pleased to finally get a +ve with these things despite pretty regular 29day cycle), but then i started to bleed a couple of days later. Anyway I was hopeful and convinced I was pg but then AF teased me by turning up 4 days late

This month, I've ramped it up. Bought the fancy clearblue digital OPK and started acupuncture. Fingers crossed I get a better idea of if and when I ovulate.

*L00p I'm 1 or 2 dpo and I'm symptom spotting. AF is such a bitch turning up late keeping fx for a BFP this month for you.

Spindelina hope all well with you?

And who thought giving early pregnancy, AF and ovulation all the same symptoms were a good idea Angry sore boobs bloated and nauseous whichor one could it be....?

I'm doing OK thanks binky. Today is 5+5, which is a day more pregnant than when I started bleeding last time round, hurrah! But I'm not going to be able to relax until I get past a 12 week scan, which is where it all fell apart back in May.

binkybunny · 21/11/2016 12:59

Yay! Keeping everything crossed for you. Can you not get an early scan?

L00p · 21/11/2016 13:38

Oh Spin fingers crossed for you

I am surprisingly excited by the prospect of using clearblue OPK sticks! I suppose I need to focus on doing something new this month

I think my history of one uneventful pregnancy and two early losses means that they aren't particularly concerned - the most probable scenario is that I've just coincidentally had two early losses for no particular reason. I did email the consultant, as advised by the nurse in EPU, but no response yet.

I think I could get a private reassurance scan, which I might look into if I decide gaining back headspace is worth it.

Spin!!! Congratulations, that's such good news. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I appreciate it's a difficult time at the moment, but it really should work out this time for you.

Back on the ttc train - it's shit shit shit.

Hi Best! Thanks. I've been hoping you'd come back. I mean, it's a bit crap that you're not still away, but given that, good that you're back. Iyswim.

Yes ikwym. But it's pretty shitty, as you know! We started to ttc pretty much straight away but my body is still a bit bonkers. Also, with the whole 'stress doesn't help' and 'don't drink caffeine' - I'm pretty sure that both of those are in my life to stay at the moment so not fancying my chances any time soon. The July BFP came when I'd be ultra rigorous about diet, caffeine and alcohol. Not that this helped in the end.
I kind of knew it wouldn't work out - as symptoms were so much less pronounced than with DS, but you never really know what that means and once I'd got to 8 weeks I felt pretty confident that, with no bleeding, things must be ok really. Well that was wrong in the end!
Anyhow - I hope your pregnancy goes to plan!! I'll be keeping all fingers and toes crossed. This thread again seems to have attracted a bunch of great ladies and I wish you all well, but I think I need to keep off a regular thread at the moment so I'll give you all a big wave (and you a massive good luck hug, Spin) and I'll lurk in the shadows. Wishing you all success. xxx

My first BFP came first month of trying, and I thought I'd missed the boat. Much caffeine and alcohol consumed. Second time I was being much more pious. So much for that idea.

Anyhow, I'll wave and hug back, and wish you luck. Happy lurking - hope to see you on a thread about coping with a five-year-old and a newborn in 2017!

Hello chaps, can I join you?

I'm also to the "TTC after miscarriage" thread as we lost our baby at 11weeks in August and even though it was a "surprise" pg the way it ended was so upsetting.

I've been so lucky - no effort made to conceive our DD who is 10mo and no effort to conceive the second time but the mc has spooked me and we've been trying since Sept and whilst it's not long seeing AF appear again is saddening.

I hope I'm not coming across as a div; this thread looks supportive and it's nice to see people seemingly on their way do graduation (spin) after challenging times.

Yours ex-lurkingly,

Beans x

welcome! mc at 11 weeks must have been really awful. DD being only 10mo sounds like a good time to start trying though!

I'm in tww full on symptom spotting and resisting the urge to poas a week early.

Big hugs beans.

Just waiting for AF to start fully.

Does anyone else freak out occasionally when they think about giving birth (the actual labour and delivery) to number 2? I had a difficult birth first time around and at times I sometimes think I'm safer just sticking to one...

I'm into the 2nd week of the tww and symptom spotting like crazy.

I'm terrified after the 1st time so having sessions at the hospital to talk through what happened. See if your hospital does the same?

Hi all, thought id pop in for a catch up and get to see the new names... spin... Fabulous news!! congratulations, hope your feeling much more relaxed at seeing the heartbeat Smile

I've been working so much the past couple of months we'd put everything on the back burner so only managed twice last time and wasn't really trying at all - Goes to say i'm now a week late. Shock I'm too scared to take a test yet, I'm definitely going to wait for another week as I never usually make it to 6 weeks, so next weekend I will do the test but just had to share as Im going crazy myself counting the days to see if ive got it wrong. I havent. Im really late Shock, which I never am, regular as clockwork every 28 days.

Maybe fate is listening and I'll wake up tomorrow to my period starting Smile

Hello Buddah! I have everything (quietly, nonchalantly, in a not-tempting-fate way) crossed for you.
