Hi ladies
I'm trying to conceive no. 2. My aim was to ttc from January of this year - however due to one thing or another (very stressful time at work!) I have not been giving it my all. I have now decided I need to focus on ttc no.2 as I am very conscious of the growing age gap! Please join for a friendly chat and to hopefully support each other!

Stats
Age - 35
Ttc - #2
CD - 21
DS - 3 years 10months!

Don't want to obsess about it! However I think it's inevitable!

She had a great time! Although she was disappointed they didn't do any colouring as she'd been saying that that was what she was looking forward to most... She's made four new friends though, which is fab considering she didn't know anyone!

iemma I've been using the CB digital ov sticks and it took me ten days to get a peak reading last month. I started on day 7/8 and got highs for ten days before finally a peak on day 17. I'm currently day 13/14 I think and still on high rather than peak. Could you have ovulated earlier in your cycle than day 15? I do agree they are very expensive to use. I'm near the end of my box now and I don't think I'm going to immediately buy another set.

Buddahbelly · 07/09/2016 07:06

I Emma I usually start testing a week to the day after af. I get there expensive but I actually find the eBay cheap ones a bit better than the faff of sticking in the tester then waiting around for the 5 mins.

iemma321q · 07/09/2016 19:34

So how do the cheap ones work? Which do you recommend?

felineways · 08/09/2016 05:27

Hi all just checking in to see how everyone is doing.

Sadly my miscarriage isn't totally straight forward. My hgc levels arent dropping but there is no sign of pregnancy on scans. Spending lots of the last few days in early pregnancy unit waiting having further scans and poking/prodding to check it's not ectopic. Currently no sign which is good but levels aren't sropping enough to rule it out, which is a rather horrible limbo.

Buddahbelly · 08/09/2016 06:51

feline My goodness, you're going through it aren't you. Hope you're having lots of cake to cheer yourself up, is your dp/dh going with you to keep you company?

iemma I bought around 25 off eBay for around £2- £3 i think, I had a little cup I kept in the bathroom and would use that to dip the stick in, it tells you the results in approx 1-2 minutes and is just an extra line if its positive. I have been pg three times using these - sadly only 1 stuck and is now screaming for his breakfast!

Af has arrived here last night, so everything is giving me the rage, even dp got it yesterday for not putting in more effort when needed.

felineways · 08/09/2016 07:16

Sadly dp is the other side of the world with work: sucky timing but yes much much fuck it cake and confectionery being eaten :-)

Spindelina · 08/09/2016 09:36

Oh no feline. Being stuck in EPU sounds really shitty, especially without company. Keep going with the fuck it cake, and once it's all sorted, a big glass of Wine.

Our dtd record this month has been piss poor, so I'm just waiting for AF. But there's an outside chance I could be pg (dtd 4 days before my CM-based guess at ovulation), so I'm stuck being on best behaviour knowing that it's probably in vain. DD starts school tomorrow and I want my Wine!

BummyMummy77 · 08/09/2016 11:48

Oh Feline that sucks.

BummyMummy77 · 08/09/2016 11:49

The cheap ones are great. I find just a couple of hours can have different results though. I'll try not to drink or pee to much In the morning and do one at 11am and 1pm and I generally catch my highest surge point.

BummyMummy77 · 08/09/2016 11:53

The downside is the cheap ones I get come with 100 tests and 20 pregnancy tests so I sometimes end up obsessively pregnancy testing three times a day.

jennymac31 · 08/09/2016 17:58

Evening ladies.

Think I might be out this month. Starting to get cramps and af is due tomorrow. Poo pants!

jennymac31 · 10/09/2016 07:05

Morning ladies

Well the cramping continued yesterday and no af arrived so I took a test this morning and I think I got my bfp!

Are my eyes deceiving me? They're not the clearest of lines.

Aged 35 or over TTC #2?
felineways · 10/09/2016 09:54

They are very much lines Congratulations Jenny :-)

Buddahbelly · 10/09/2016 11:06

Congrats jenny!

Well after af starting last time I posted it stopped, then started again, never enough for a pad though, I let myself believe it was spotting which was leading to a bfp, had the other symptoms too tingly boobs and a headache, sure signs i was pg with ds last time. was due on on monday and nothing much all week but decided to wait till today to test.

So fast forward to me testing this morning, negative, nothing all symptoms gone too then approx half an hour later af in full motion! Hmm why oh why do i let myself believe it and get wound up over it! now in bed eating a multipack of ripples.

Spindelina · 10/09/2016 13:42

Yay yay yay jenny! Congratulations!

Buddah, I can't help you with the obsessing and symptom spotting. But enjoy the Ripples.

BummyMummy77 · 10/09/2016 19:19

Huge congrats Jenny!

jennymac31 · 12/09/2016 08:36

Thanks ladies.

It took me by surprise so I did a clearblue digital test which confirmed I'm 3-4 weeks pregnant. Have got an appointment with the doctors tomorrow to start the ball rolling with sorting out the midwife etc.

Any other news from you guys? Hope you are all well xx

oliversmummy26 · 12/09/2016 14:51

Hello ladies,

massive congratulations jenny, lines are lines doesn't matter how faint they are, if it's negative there would be nothing - well done you!

I stopped taking my pill at the weekend (finally!) and so am now officially TTC Smile so excited! I've already been wondering if we might have managed to get preggers over the weekend, had just come out of my fertile window and AF due this Sunday coming, so we'll see. Highly doubtful, but you never know.

xxx

SendTheNextOneIn · 13/09/2016 12:48

Congratulations jenny!! That's fabulous!

I feel like my cycles are all over the place. CD 22 and I'm spotting. The last couple of cycles have been 28 days+. I'm driving myself mad, convincing myself it could be implantation spotting and trying to figure out if I actually feel sick or if it's psychosomatic. Seriously, early pregnancy symptoms have a lot to answer for... Angry

9 days until I can test according to Ovia...

emilyalbemarle · 13/09/2016 16:25

Massive congratulations jenny. Posts like yours give me hope that it might happen for me one day....
I'm in my FW now, and hubby has been informed. Fortunately he tends to deal with the pressure well and rises to the occasion! I've also booked some reflexology next week to see if that helps at all. I'm finding it hard to stay positive, but at least I'll know we tried...

Spindelina · 13/09/2016 21:31

I'm still waiting for first AF since chemical. Not too long until my original due date - would really like to be pg then.

blackcherries · 13/09/2016 22:27

Feeling lonely so why not join this thread, I thought?!
I'm 36, ttc no. 2. current DS is 21 months but I wanted approx 26-30 month age gap and have been trying for over 6 months. Feeling quite blue about it all (although I know i haven't been trying that long) as got preg first time with DS. Think the first few cycles were still settling down and only used OPKs for the last few but feel I have been doing 'everything right' but no luck.
Have had one cycle where everything seemed to point to pg apart from sore boobs but it was a no-go.

BummyMummy77 · 14/09/2016 01:29

Know how you feel Spin. My due date would have been 6th Nov (same as ds's Sad) and know I'll be a mess then.

Spindelina · 16/09/2016 09:37

Well, I'm in the Wine and Chocolate zone (CD1).

I've got a works night out this evening, so I POAS this morning, just in case. Safe in the knowledge that wine was to be drunk, AF arrived about 90 minutes later.

Buddahbelly · 16/09/2016 11:16

Ah spin, the tried and tested method of speeding up AF, poas always guaranteed to get her excited and show her ugly head!

I read some good advice the other day on a getting pregnant thread that said, book an expensive scuba diving holiday without any insurance and you're sure to get pregnant! Grin I'm coming up to ov time so shall be testing over the weekend, but praying for next week, dp's away this weekend working so dont feel like being in charge of a turkey baster!
