Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

On a positive note, I have found a new house, will hopefully be moving in by March (now just to get my current house sold Smile)

Congrats Snowy, excellent news re house and good luck with the IVF. At least you can have a few drinks over Christmas.

I am on CD8 today and just had monitoring scan which showed 2 dominant folllices, one 19mm and the other 18mm. Noone I've been feeling loopy. Lining looks good too. In theory we must be doubling our chance as we have two follicles this month instead of one. This disappointment if this doesn't work is going to be horrendous.

Tomorrow. Guess that want to see how quickly they're growing. At this rate though it looks like we'll do the IUI on Friday or Saturday which are only CD10 and 11. I thought the dr said they wouldn't do it until CD11 at the earliest. Just hope some of my symptoms subside. Feel all over the place with clomid.

Yeah, when I was medicated they scanned every other day, they keep a much closer eye on things

Ok, so was scanned on Thursday and just had another one. 2 follicles which are both 24mm each and lining is 9.5mm. Today is CD10. Dr said we can't wait any longer, so have me trigger ready for IUI tomorrow. She was trying to convince me to stop stressing and be positive that this will work but really can't feel that positive about it after so many failures. That said, there are 2 mature follicles this month so we have doubled our chances although I think we are still only looking at a 15% chance of success this month, max. Urgghh!!!

Good luck thomasina. There's so much to be positive about. For the first time you'll have two eggs, and you'll know the sperm was definitely in the right place at the right time. I'm currently considering doing IUI while i wait for my IVF referral so learning as much as possible from you guys! Second round of clomid and on 2ww...

Hello all I see to have found my people!
I've done four rounds of clomid no ov on 50 or 100 but ov on two rounds of 150 but no pregnancy. Had a hycosy last month and decided to take a break. Started provera to bring a period on this month and will start my clomid again. Got three rounds left!
I want to be postive but I do think well end up with ivf. I'm not the most patient and I find the hospital I'm at crap tbh so we will go private. See a deal for two rounds of ivf for 3500 and we've got 1700 saved already x

Thanks geeup, for being so positive. Just had the IUI. Sperm sample great BUT, there was late doing it. DH "produced" the sample at 11.40 and the IUI was supposed to be at 1.30 but they were running late and it didn't happen until 2.15. Worried as everything I read says the IUI has to be within 2 hours of the semen production. I managed to get really worked up and stressed about it all and to just have a huge row with DH. So tired of this process. Everyone is saying to be positive but I just can't be. I think this is it for us - taking too much of a toll emotionally. Geeup, are you taking clomid but not doing IUI? Are you having any monitoring? Wondering if this might be an option for us. Can't face keeping trying IUIs with no results but could keep taking clomid to increase chances.

Welcome Fluffyewok! Good luck with the IUIs! Think they can work, they just aren't for us and we don't know why other than age. Think they are way more successful in younger couples. Good luck anyway!

How long should you wait gee?

Report
geeup · 01/12/2016 07:35

Not sure yet. I think maybe 2 months between last appointment at hospitals fertility clinic who are referring us until first consultation at clinic. Depends how long it takes for CCG to approve the funding I guess.

If it gets to ivf we're going to fund privately

Tested early, CD12, and BFN and a massive awful row with DH to top it all off. If it didn't happen this month when everything looked so good then I can't see that it will ever happen. I think we are going to give up. It's been 12 months now. 3 unmedicated IUIs, 1 medicated and nothing. If I knew why they maybe it would help. Just nothing month after month. Really feel we can't go on like this. Is destroying our relationship but I think we're perhaps doomed anyway as I blame DH that we didn't start TTC sooner.

Thomas Flowers what have the Doctors said about next steps?

Report
Thomasina76 · 02/12/2016 12:25

Nothing yet Fluffy. Have a follow-up appointment next week so will see what they say. `Expect it will be to either try another one or two medicated IUIs or just go straight to IVF. We did the ovarian reserve test last month and the results were fine for my age so there is no immediate need to rush to IVF. Not sure we would do it anyway. Very hard to know what's best. What we're doing clearly isn't working.
