Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

Thomasina they say the trigger is out of your system after 10 days, but it was out of mine in 5 so you never know, it could be the real thing. My clinic says to be absolutely sure wait 14 days so just try again in 3 days. I'll keep my fingers tightly crossed Smile

Thomasina76 · 06/10/2016 00:12

thanks Snowy but I don't think there is line. DH says not anyway! Preparing for disappointment, again! Hugs. x

Sorry wrong thread

Thomasina76 · 07/10/2016 10:06

Ok, so I am 12 DPO today and did a HPT and got a BFN. Not surprised but still very low. Just have a feeling it isn't going to work. Consultant did say that unmedicated IUI doesn't increase your chances much over trying naturally. Not sure whether it's worth doing a third unmedicated cycle. Just seems pointless. Maybe it really is time to give up.

Hola lovely ladies, had my HCG and progesterone blood tests today and results came to me after 3 hours! With a little message:

Please find attached your results which are indicative of a positive pregnancy test. You can print this PDF file and pass to your GP/Midwife team.
NORMAL Progesterone levels during pregnancy:
1st trimester (weeks 1-12):
32.6-140 nmol/L

And my progesterone level - 131.9
And HCG - 100.9

I can not believe it! And still can't believe it!!! I'm in shock, I think!!!
Called my clinic in Riga, chatted with my nurse (told me to carry on with my vitamins which I'm still taking after IUI), and then with my acupuncturist! DH is over the moon!
And I thought AF was coming as boobs became sooooo sore a couple of days ago! And nipples are sooooo sensitive! Don't even know dpos when I felt it as I've stopped following and monitoring symptoms. I haven't even POAS!
My next HCG and progesterone blood tests are on Wednesday. Will report then.

CongratsGrin

geeup · 10/10/2016 21:23

That's brilliant Russ. Congrats. Did you have unexplained or anything you knew of against you?

Russkispy · 10/10/2016 21:34

Thanks geeup! We haven't been medically "declared" as infertile! We've only been trying for 5 months and decide to "give" it a little boost/nudge, by taking Clomid and IUI. I'm 40 and DH41 and didn't want to try for 6-12 months and decided for an assisted IUI

geeup · 10/10/2016 21:43

Ah that's interesting. As far as you were aware was your OHs sperm ok then?

Russkispy · 10/10/2016 21:55

He did 2 SA, one last year and one a year later, both came fine. And after "washing" and preparation, motility of his sperm was 88%, which apparently was very very good, the doc said.

geeup · 10/10/2016 22:21

Wow that is amazing! Well done you both!

Russkispy · 11/10/2016 07:58

Thank you, geeup!!

Want to make it more "believable" for myself and hold something tangible in my hands!!! So found a Boots pregnancy cheapie test and took it this morning. It's BFP!!!! I can now say as we use all these abbreviations. It's a BFP for me!! Oh wow!! DH is still very much over the moon!!!

geeup · 11/10/2016 08:26

Wow that must be amazing. Congrats again.
I'm CD10 after takin Clomid for the first time. Have a scan on Saturday to find out if I have any extra follies and to check my lining as suggested in this thread. Planning to DTD eod but have to avoid 24 hrs before my smear on Friday (fun). Need the smear test results before I can be referred for IVF so want everything up to date. Good luck everyone.

Russkispy · 11/10/2016 08:51

Forgot to mention that HCG and progesterone blood tests were done yesterday which was on CD27, 14dpo.
Acupuncturist told me who is ok Clomid, ideally to get 3 follicles but 2 is very good. And I hope that's the news you would hear on Saturday! Keep us posted! Good luck!!!

geeup · 11/10/2016 10:50

I will keep you posted!! Feeling positive and ready to get DTDing hopefully with an extra folly or 2!

Russkispy · 11/10/2016 11:40

I know it's hard work but we all will get there one way or another and with today's medicine, pretty much everything becomes possible! I'm a true believer!

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 11/10/2016 11:44

Hi everyone,

I had clomid last month but it didn't suit me - i produced too many follicles and it also made the lining of my uterus too thin (which apparently can be a side effect of clomid in some women).

Hope you all have a good outcome soon

xxx

hi ladies,

Just a quick question. I've had two cycles of 50mg clomid in the last few months. first cycle was taken following a course of norethisterone. Second cycle was taken after a natural bleed. I've since had a second Natural bleed but it was when I was on holiday abroad & didn't/couldn't take my third 50mg dose of clomid.

However, the natural bleeds habe come longer than an adverage cycle of 28-33 days, they're more 60-80 days. This is a massive improvement to what I'm used to (usually go around 6 months in between AFs) but I find it strange that I'm having the bleed, but no ovulation following the clomid as before it is wouldn't see anything for months.

Also, the AFs are absolutely horrendous!!!!!! excruciatingly painful - on the verge of knee buckling pain in my abdomen. Not to mention my rock solid boobs and nipples which are that sensitive even a breeze hurts them. I've next to no energy and all I want to do is sleep. The flow is totally horrendous too, largest obsorbency tampon plus a night time towel and I'm changing hourly if not sooner. Theach most heaviest pains appear to happen on the first or second night, depending upon when AF starts. This disturbs my sleep drastically becuase I'm up every hour. my last AF happened on holiday which was awful to say the least as it was so hot too!!

Has anyone else experienced this following clomid? xx

snowy1982 · 12/10/2016 09:53

Morning ladies, sorry for the absence, but have had a hectic week.

So am on my third IUI and this time its medicated. Had a 'base' scan last Friday (CD 3) and have been taking 50mg doses of Glonal F every day since then. Had a check up scan this morning and have 4 follicles all 10mm - so its looking likely that my IUI may get cancelled (clinic cuts off after 2 mature follicles). Have another scan on Friday and then they will decide what to do (or not do). Am beginning to regret going for a medicated cycle this time, follicle development was never an issue for me (always had one nice big one at trigger time) and now i feel like it was a bad idea to mess with that. But we shall see come Friday.

Awkward bit is i have a wedding to go to on Friday so now i have to rearrange/cancel hair and make-up appointments to fit in the scan.

snowy1982 · 12/10/2016 09:56

Thomasina I know its hard not to feel like that sometimes (i do quite often) but do not give up, we will all get there somehow and nothing is ever pointless. Have you considered medicated (although beware my issues above)? Get a consultation with your doc and explain how your feeling and see what they suggest.

Russkispy big fat cngratulations to you, thats wonderful news.

Geeup good luck for smear on Saturday.

AmyC86, sorry, but have never used clomid so am no help there

Russkispy · 12/10/2016 10:59

Thank you, snowy! Wow! 4 follicles! We had 2 to begin with. Then at the time of IUI procedure day, ended up with 3! 2 of them of 20mm each! And she warned me about a chance if twins and we didn't mind, I said.

Amy, I was on Clomid, cd5-10, and i was feeling all ok throughout those 6 days. I think I'm still ok although have dizzy spells and. It sure if these are Clomid side affects or the fact that I'm pregnant.

geeup · 12/10/2016 11:24

Amy - I've only done clomid once (this cycle) and only on cd11 but I haven't noticed any side effects.

snowy1982 · 12/10/2016 11:52

My clinic wont do it if there are more than 2 mature follicles - have to hope that at least 2 of them stop where their at
