Do you love being elbow deep in your cervix? Can you tell your cream from your egg? No, we're not talking Cadbury, we're talking vadge juice. Come and join the fingering fillies on our flight of fecundity (see what I did there?).

^^That's the missing apostrophe from the preceeding post.

That test doesn't look positive to me thepug so hard to say really...

MissMrsMummy · 14/02/2015 13:00

purdey you are possibly hostile towards spermies then! Can you cut down on anything slightly? I am wonders if my body has been killing off the poor little mites for all this time... What a waste!

MissMrsMummy · 14/02/2015 13:02

thepug that looks like mine usually do a day or two before a positive. Then it's another 12-36 hours before you actual ov, so maybe you ov'd 3 days after that test? So Monday when you got the pains could have been it. 5 dpo now, does that seem feasible?

purdeybirdie · 14/02/2015 13:05

Pug, I would bet my last pound (which is a huge thing for me, I live in Poundland) that you surged Friday evening and therefore ov'd any time between Saturday evening and Sunday evening. Sex in the 2ww is good as apparently the prostaglandins in sperm are beneficial to a fertilised egg. Dat's wot i red anywayz, innit.

OP posts:
MissMrsMummy · 14/02/2015 13:09

Ah, another failing. We don't really DTD in the 2ww! Poor DH. He will love that news haha

purdeybirdie · 14/02/2015 13:11

Juney, do not be afraid. Remember that opks are 96% correct in pinpointing ov. When you see the true surge, lob the spunk up 24 hrs later.

Miss, are you telling me that the nut- berry- egg- and meat-eating Neanderthals were too acidic to procreate? Give over, woman!

I'm going to bed to avoid parenting duties to recover from my 'chronic flu'.

OP posts:
ThePug · 14/02/2015 13:11

Juney that's what I thought at the time (that it was negative as not as dark or darker than control) but I saw another thread on here where people were using the same opks and said anything coloured-ish might be positive.

MissMrs Yes, that fits and is what I've been thinking so far. So basically I have another 7 days at least to wait until it is worth poas.

I've been using a saliva microscope because I'm a cheapskate and don't want to waste opks that cost 7p each which is really interesting, and why I did the first opk last Friday. Got the fertile ferning pattern first last Friday, then partially over the weekend and fully again on Monday. So I'm sure something was happening. Here are some pics in case anyone is interested! One with blobs is non-fertile and from CD5, ferning is supposedly fertile and from CD12.

purdey probably not but they didn't have the joys of wine and chocolate! I wonder whether they used to get stressed as well?

purdeybirdie · 14/02/2015 13:15

Miss, I don't have sex in the 2ww either. I just eat sugar. And red meat. And eggs.

Speaking of Poundland, can anyone remember Wishing's full MN name? I want to track her down and bully her into coming back check she's okay.

OP posts:
MissMrsMummy · 14/02/2015 13:16

Was it wishing123?

victoria401 · 14/02/2015 13:17

Goodness how interesting pug!

Yeah to June for having sperm in da house!

Hope you feel better soon purdey. You should have stayed at home though hun.

I'm still around... Clinging on to something. Worried about eating too much meat and sugar... How can I be on a high protein pre ivf diet and not have too much meat? Makes no sense to me...

eskimolaura · 14/02/2015 13:18

Miss Have you ever tried to light a fire with no matches? Now that's stress... Wink

purdeybirdie · 14/02/2015 13:18

Mummy, I would imagine trying to escape the pursuit of woolly mammoths every day of your life was pretty stressful.

*Pug^, where are the ferns? Confused

MissMrsMummy · 14/02/2015 13:18

Hahah laura you're right. We have it much easier these days!

MissMrsMummy · 14/02/2015 13:20

Don't worry victoria I think for me it was more the sugar and alcohol that were the problem. We need protein and especially red meat or we would be anaemic

Still got my fx for you Smile

purdeybirdie · 14/02/2015 13:21

Vic, th'IVF clinic will order you to eat loads of protein leading up to your cycle. It is proven to improve oocytes massively. Zita West is a slag best shoved to the back of the bookcase along with Germaine Greer's Female Eunuch and Amanda Holden's autobiography, 'Why I Sexualise My Nine-Year-Old Daughter'.

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 14/02/2015 13:22

Zita west has been saying for years to eat plenty of protein, I hate it when these people change their minds! I eat loads of eggs as well Purdey and no plans to stop!
Hope you're feeling better soonThanks

The thing I've found with the ic opks is that my line doesn't always get as dark as control so I also use cb smiley face tests and when I think ic is almost there I use the cb. This works well for me as I usually ov at the same time. Cb tests are expensive and I wouldn't want to be using 2/3 times daily.

MissMrsMummy · 14/02/2015 13:24

Also the cb ones need FMU so only ics are useful for multiple poas in a day.,

Cariad2014 · 14/02/2015 13:25

Huge congrats to Aurora on your BFP (announced on the March bus) - now please tell us what you were pre name-change so that we can all congratulate you properly (unless of course I've somehow missed this announcement on the February bus!) The suspense is killing me. Grin

juneybean · 14/02/2015 13:46

Ack I'm getting nervous and every twinge is freaking me out.

spinningirl10 · 14/02/2015 13:55

Missmrs the cb ones that I use are not fmu. They are the ones that give you an empty circle if no surge or a smiley face if positive!

Ohh Congratulations aurora, please tell us your previous name Smile

mustbemad71 · 14/02/2015 13:57

Think I've guessed the owner of the BFP - is it the lovely Aus?! If so she'll need to put down the G&T on the top deck! Congrats my lovely am I right? Grin

mustbemad71 · 14/02/2015 13:58

Juney the boys are here woop woop!
