Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 01/01/2015 11:44

Hello, please can I join? Getting back into ttc now after a missed miscarriage. Finally miscarried at 11 weeks at the end of November and got my first post mc period today. Cycle are usually about 35 days.
Can't remember what ttc involves other than the obvious? For unsuccessful pregnancy, got bfp on first month of ttc. Have a dd, aged 2. Not sure what I'm doing now- think I'll try not to obsess yet!

CoffeeTwo · 01/01/2015 11:53

Sorry to hear of your mmc Guy. Sounds like a good idea to not obsess and take it easy, I'm too far down that rabbit hole. I've done a month of ovulation sticks and I'll be adding temping to the mix this month. My cycles are also about 35 days but they can be unpredictable and I need to feel like I'm doing something to up my chances. I really didn't expect to be on my 6th bus but here I am.

Happy new year ladies!

I am on my 8th cycle I beleve now, I would love to start temping and doing the sticks but honestly have no idea how to go about it, it confuses the heck out of me Confused any tips would be great from you guys :) happy new year to you both x

DizzyNorthernBird · 01/01/2015 12:39

I will! But will hang around on jan bus too as next fertile period is mid jan. 35 day cycle means bfp won't be due until 4th feb though!

DizzyNorthernBird · 01/01/2015 12:40

DizzyNorthernBird, 35, ttc#1, cycle 2, bfp due 4th feb.

MillieMoodle · 01/01/2015 12:47

I'm in! About to start ttc #2. Pre-pill my cycles were 35 days but god only knows what they'll be now. Just about to come of cerazette and bleeding has been on and off for about 8 months so. Good luck all Smile

CoffeeTwo · 02/01/2015 14:19

Welcome aboard ladies :)

Not sure what my cycle is up to so i'll give the deets as best I can. Think AF is about to start to probably puts me out of the running for Jan (especially as my cycles seem to be getting longer :S).

dizzylemon, 31, ttc#1, cycle 7 bfp due- ?

Alpha101 · 02/01/2015 15:29

Count me in. Nervous but excited! x

loopylou1984 · 02/01/2015 17:40

Can I reserve a seat?
Still on the jan bus, but af due any time and just got a bfn so think I'll be off soon.
29, Ttc #1, cycle 15

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 02/01/2015 17:59

I'd like to reserve a seat too please, at the back of the top deck, with the cool kids! Wink

Think AF due soon but lost track of my cycle and only started TTC at Christmas so not sure!

Pixa · 02/01/2015 18:09

Can I join please?

TTC for #1 since September. This month we have bought pre-seed, although the application for it seems a bit odd! Haven't tried it yet! CD9, so it will be a busy week or two in our household. Grin

warriorbot · 02/01/2015 22:29

Happy new year... Long time lurker here: please may I join you? TTC#1 since May. I turned 40 this December. One failed IUI at City Fertility, now starting IVF at CRGH. Took my first norethisterone tablets today...eek! Excited and hopeful!

Warriorbot, 40, TTC#1, cycle 7, IVF round one. BFP due between the 6th and 20th Feb depending on how I respond to the drugs!

CoffeeTwo · 02/01/2015 22:41

Hello everyone!

Oooh warrior how exciting! Fingers crossed for you :)

Thank you, coffee Smile

vmj I started with the clear blue digital but it was no good for testing at work. What's more it always missed my surge if I tested before work. (Test in the afternoon as LH rises in the day!)

I always found the poundland opk strips to work just fine. I did it in the loo at work and the little sachets slip into a pocket with no bother! Also, you can use the sachet as a urine collector. To dip the strip into, I mean. I'm not a weirdo!

If you'd rather have a plastic stick rather than a little strip I found superdrug's own brand to be good and pretty cheap.

Ironically I just used the last LH SOWOP (stick on which one pees) to check I haven't ovulated before starting my downreg. First time I've been hoping for just the one line! Grin

Vmj23 · 03/01/2015 00:35

Thankyou :) what day would you start testing? The day your period finishes? Think I may try the soy tablets for one month and if nothing then try using sticks and temping.

Wish I wasn't like this and it was just so simple! Grin x

UltimateDuck · 03/01/2015 10:02

Hi everyone. May i join your gang? I'm on cd 3 so technically should be clinging on the back of the January bus, but i would rather be here.

I have a dd who is 2 and just had an mc at the beginning of December, so i'm just getting over it. DP and I are going to put some real effort in to ttc this month.

It will be good to have a group of people to talk about cycles and symptoms with Smile

DizzyNorthernBird · 03/01/2015 10:18

vmj last month I used the green 'one step' opk's which you can buy on Amazon. They have a chart which tells you which day to start testing depending on the length of your cycle...useful as it should mean you won't waste sticks. Last month I didn't have much luck with them and found them and found the results confusing but I think it was user error rather than being the sticks fault Blush. I'm going to try to be more consistent with how I use them this month!

warrior good luck! Will be interested in hearing how you get on!

ultimate sorry to hear about the mc, fx for you this cycle Smile

warriorbot · 03/01/2015 10:24

Ah! vmj I'm sure wiser people than me can advise on that. The rule of thumb is that there are usually 14 days between ovulation and your period so if you're regular you can use that information.

I'm regular but disorganised and used an app called my period calendar/tracker for android. After a couple of cycles it starts to work out your average cycle length and suggests when your fertile period might start (from about 6 days pre ovulation.) I started poas a day or so after that. Over time it also learned when I ovulated from the positive opk readings.

Everyone's cycle varies but if you know when AF is due subtract about 20 days and start poas then. If you miss your surge, start earlier next month. Keep a calendar, either on your phone or just pen and paper. And be prepared to p on a lot o s!

I would also recommend highly to anyone finding this business confusing to read 'taking charge of your fertility'. Being new and completely ignorant about ttc, I picked up a copy off ebay for 6 quid and have learned loads, it's also very useful if you think you might consider temping as this is the main theme of the book.

Nevlet · 03/01/2015 14:27

Hi, can I join the club? First month off the pill so not too hopeful!

Nevlet, 24, ttc#1, cycle 1

MrsCrumbtious · 03/01/2015 16:52

I'm straddling between here and the Jan bus if you don't mind. AF landed on new year's day which means I have another shot of baby making in a couple of weeks. Have started taking evening primrose oil along with my folic acid to increase ewcm, let's hope it works!

Babydust to all of you!

Xx

Allthefours · 03/01/2015 16:56

Hi can I reserve a seat in the bus? Have been lurking on the other buses but not posted so jumping in feet first! AF has arrived today so back at the beginning. DH and I have been TTC since Oct 2012. I have PCOS which does add the the issues as my cycles vary from 28 to 100+ days at times. I had a MMC at 12 weeks in June 2014 and a MC at 5+3 in August 2014 and now on cycle 4 since the last MC and no hint of a BFP.

I am about to start on the third cycle of soy isoflavones, I was a bit skeptical about them to begin with but since taking them my last 2 cycles have been 43 days and 30 days which is a vast improvement to what they have been in the past. I'm also taken sanatogen mum to be vitamins and EPO (which helps with the CM). I do draw the line at temping and OPK though and try to DTD EOD. I'm really hoping that this cycle is the one!

My stats: Allthefours TTC#4 cycle 15 (over 2 years). (MMC Jun 14, MC August 14) BFP due approx 4th Feb.
