Hi Mrsmcj
Are you temp charting ... or using OPKs?

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2006 13:21

Hi Sunshinedays - I'm using both and anything and everything!!! OPKs have all been negative since CD11 this cycle - very frustrating, temps are still ticking along at the low level and CM is very confusing but CP is still good so fingers crossed that my mini egg will turn up - sorry if that was TMI!

sunshinedays · 23/10/2006 15:21

Not TMI...

have you tried charting on the US site fertilityfriend.com? I believe it is conected to Toni Wechsler (SP??) of "Taking control of you fertility" fame. I have just started using it and found it quite calming and common sense.

sunshinedays · 23/10/2006 15:21

whoops - sorry about typos!

sunshinedays · 23/10/2006 15:27

.. oh, and meant to say I've never had a result on a OPK that I can be sure is a positive... loads of maybes but never a proper dark line... I find them very frustrating.
I've had the temp rise and CM... though errr.... never managed to touch the other sign... if you know what I mean

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2006 15:37

I know what you mean, not the easiest is it!? I am using the ovusoft software which is based on TW's book. It is good and I am glad that I use it. We have a thread actually on chart spotting if you'd like to join. We post our charts

here

and then chart spot and chat about them

here

Hello,

Just a quick message to say still no sign of AF (now CD 31) and usually always 28 day cycle. So still hanging in there. Have asked DH to hide my remaining PT to stop me doing another test too quickly...I plan to wait until Friday!

Anyone else testing soon?

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2006 10:08

ohhhh mrspf - exciting times!

I might be OV temps are looking more encouraging and have some cramps, CM good too - we'll see

mrspf · 24/10/2006 13:35

Thanks MrsMcJnr

I am trying not to get too excited. My latest theory is that I think I may have OV'd late this month (possibly CD19) which would explain both the lack of AF and the BFN test results- unfortunately there wasn't much BD action around that time... I must get better at reading the signs and/or making sure we BD regularly! We are always so tired though, and DH works away Tues-Thurs every week which doesn't help either.

I have learnt a lot of tips through these threads, and feel more positive for next month if/when AF finally makes an appearance.

I must say, I think you are a shining example of how to stay positive whilst going through difficult times- even when you've had a rant, you get things off your chest and move on. Your posts are always so supportive/encouraging to others, and I hope you take full advantage of your OV signs and fingers crossed for you that things will happen soon xxx

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2006 13:58

Thank you for all the lovely things you said to me I really try to stay positive and am normally that kind of person but I am also the type that'll work endlessly to get something I want and as a result, I normally get what I want. TTC is just not something I can do much to control - a good lesson for me!

DH and I find tiredness a big issue too, especially during the working week and that is with being together every night. I used to be away on business a lot in my last job but thankfully I am not now.

Drs say that charting and predicting your fertile time is not a good thing to do because it causes stress but personally, I feel I am more likely to get more BD out of DH if he knows that there is an important week and that we should focus on that time and anything else is just for fun!

Fingers crossed for you!

ready4motherhood · 24/10/2006 15:44

MrsMcJnr - Just wanted to say, I know what the docs mean about charting not being good cos it adds to stress etc... but I am looking at it from a different view point - I am starting to temp so I am familiar with the way my body and cycle works and if it was necessary to see a doc in the future about fertility, all the charts would be a massive aid to seeing what might be wrong.
And being a bit of a control freak myself, this will make me feel that I am having some degree of control over things (I know I am just fooling myself, but it helps )

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2006 16:15

I'm right there with you!

PinkButterfly · 25/10/2006 10:01

Hello ladies - how are you all ?

Did you get or +ov MrsMcJnr ?

How are you Kitkat ??? Thinking of you. ((((hugs)))).

MrsMcJnr · 25/10/2006 10:16

Hi PinkButterfly - are you feeling any less queasy?

-OPK yesterday and an ambigious one just now, might try another later on just for piece of mind. I have been having cramps and breast tenderness. My temp stayed the same as yesterday so there is no obvious thermal shift since the dip in my temp on Monday. My CP has changed though so if OV hasn't happened, I don't think it will now. I'm CD20. We'll see what tomorrow brings! Still doing lots of BDing but if this is an annovulatory cycle, it'll all be in vain - we'll, it'll all have been for the fun of it

How are the rest of you? x

sunshinedays · 25/10/2006 10:24

Hi All - & extra positive vibes for you MrsPF.

I had to take a break from charting this summer as it was doing my head in and my consultant told me just to keep trying naturally ... however, like you, I feel the need to feel I'm doing something constructive, plus I like the reassurance I am still ovulating.

I think my af is on the way as temps dropped this morning and I'm trying to ignore cramps - this means my LP is just 8-9 days. My Consultant didn't seem to react when I raised concerns on this 5 months ago - seeing him again soon - any advice?

sunshinedays · 25/10/2006 10:28

Wanted to say hi to MrsMcJnr (not very good at this - pressed Post when meant to preview!)

Your positve outlook impresses me too! Will look into the charting thread - thanks.

Thinking of you.

KitKat30 · 25/10/2006 10:31

Hi guys - sorry I haven't posted for a few days, just trying to get back in the swing of things.

Evil AF is nearly over and I'm ready to start BDing again - yay! Using the clearblue fertility monitor this month too - so if you have any tips MrsMcJ, let me know.

How you feeling PinkB?

Sunshinedays - how do you work out your luteal phase? I am really not clued up at all about this stuff at all...

Hope everyone's OK and keeping their chins (and legs !) up!

xx

MrsMcJnr · 25/10/2006 10:45

Hello Sunshinedays - thanks for your words of encouragement for me Sorry to hear about AF . I have read different things about short LPs. A few books I have read have said that it needs to be 10 days plus to concieve but there are lots of ladies on here who have got their BFPs on short ones. Mine are normally about 10 days and I have been taking B6 because it is meant to help regulate your hormones (and ease PMT) and can lengthen your LP. Some people are put on drugs to assist with the LP but some regard that as using a sledge hammer to crack a nut.

Hi KitKat - Glad to hear you feeling positive! I am afraid I can't help with the fertility monitor as I don't have one but there are lots of ladies who do and I'm sure they'd love to help you out . Your LP starts the day after OV. So if you OV on CD14 CD15 is the first day of your LP. Your LP will normally be the same length each month as it is not affected by external influences so it is a good indicator of when you can expect AF (or your BFP!) Hope that helps.

sunshinedays · 25/10/2006 10:50

Over time the littel nut to crack has become a coconut... bring on the sledge hammer

KitKat30 · 25/10/2006 10:56

Oh - I dont know why I thought you had a monitor - I was convinced we had a conversation about it... obviously dreaming!

In that case, I reckon my LP is about 12-13 days (13 for the last 3 months), assuming of course I'm predicting ov correctly!

Honestly, we spend half our lives doing everything we can to not get pregnant - who knew it would actually be so blooming complicated!!! Our mums never told us that...more like if a boy sneezed near you, you'd get pg!!

sunshinedays · 25/10/2006 11:04

Hi KitKat - 12-13 days sounds mighty fine to me.
This ttc thing drives me kinda bonkers too. I thought it'd happen as soon as the gloves were off!

PinkButterfly · 25/10/2006 11:15

Hi there. Glad to see you are all doing ok.

I am doing fine - still feeling pretty off at times but mostly just extremely knackered (in bed most nights by 8/9pm), v sore (o)(o) and way too many zits on my face / hairline (not looking good ladies I'll tell ya!)

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 25/10/2006 12:28

Oh god - it's so confusing. I'm assuming ov day is the day I feel some sort of cramps...is that right? In which case it varies between 12 - 14 days... I think I'm going to drive myself bonkers!

PinkButterfly · 25/10/2006 12:51

Hey Kitkat - my cycle varies and I ov at diff times each month which is why I swear by the ovk's - both times I have used them and fallen pg in first month. I do get some cramps also but don't trust them enough to go purely by them. Does your monitor not tell you when you are ov'ing ? x

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 25/10/2006 13:06

This will be my first month using the ov kit, so here's hoping!!
