Ready4motherhood - Re all my lotions and potions, I know! I am quite good with fruit & veg too but tend to get ill and run down if I don't take supplements too. I had Glandular Fever very badly when I was a teenager and some weird virus two years ago that knocked me for 6 and I was off work for 3 months so I think immune system needs helo! I like the pre-natal vits because they also contain iron, vit E (which helps carry oyxygen to the reproductive organs) and 15 other tailored vits and mins. Loved your drawing of the boobs by the way, PMSL!

Hello Sunshinedays - B6 can help to lengthen your LP if it is short (under 10 days is a potential problem) as it contributes to the production and activities of hormones. It is also good for the brain, nervous system and immune system. It is also great for mood swings and irritability linked to PMS. Too much can have an adverse effect on the nervous system. HTH

Hi PinkButterfly - so excited for you! Can I give you MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS now as I only whispered before! Don't go, it's nice to have you with us. I have read that the green tea and grapefruit juice can cause uterine contractions and therefore best avoided in pregnancy. I think the green tea was meant to be worse than the juice but a lot of people think the risks are nonsense. HTP

KitKat - LOVE The Wedding Planner (Matthew McConaghy is delicious, generally! not really into blondes but he is an exception!) I have bought quite a lot from Access Diagnostics, I think they are really good and much cheaper than Boots etc for OV and pregnancy tests. I have a vanity case full of TTC stuff in my bathroom which I shall be donating to a MNetter once I get my BFP! Never heard of MoonCups! Hope you are still feeling positive.

DH and I did have a nice evening but he was on the floor not the couch because he has a bad back but I rubbed Aloe Vera Heat Cream into it (meant to be better for him than deep heat) and gave him a hot water bottle whilst we watched a scary film "Hostel" horrible!! so I was duly rewarded later on

Babydust to all...........................

KitKat30 · 20/10/2006 11:42

Morning guys - hope everyone's well. Evening was good - although was so knackered I went to bed at 9.30!

Going to pop into Boots today after work to pick up some more tests...keep things crossed!

MrsMcJ - saw your other post as well, hope you're feeling better today hon. I'm with you on the crap job and even crappier housing situation too - trying to buy somewhere and have just had our third sale fall through... I've decided to worry about one thing at a time - first TTC, then house, then job...it's the only way to cope. Come and rant away any time...

KitKat30 · 20/10/2006 12:22

OK - have just bought a couple of super sensitive tests from access diagnostics. Do you think it will come tomorrow then PinkB?

MrsMcJnr · 20/10/2006 12:58

Might be Monday now KitKat but it'll be good for you!

ready4motherhood · 20/10/2006 13:04

Hey MrsMcJnr - You gotta do what works for you! I think I will see how I got before taking any prenatal supps, but it's definitely something to think about... and if the time comes, I know who to ask for recommendations!
Was worried the boobs icon was a bit too much, glad it made you laugh!

KitKat30 - I like your attitude of worrying about one thing at a time!! TTC a priority for sure!! Sorry to hear about the sale falling through, superstitious people say that "things happen in 3s" so the next one should go through! Fingers crossed for a BFP!

Enjoy the weekend ladies!!

KitKat30 · 20/10/2006 13:45

Oh no - think AF has started It looks diff more mucusy and darker than normal - but I think it is...due on tomorrow, so it must be. Feel so silly, I really thought I was pg.

KitKat30 · 20/10/2006 14:19

Sorry if that was TMI - just panicking.

PinkButterfly · 20/10/2006 14:58

Ok - don't panic Kitkat. What will be will be and you have no control over it either way.

It could be AF coming or alternatively it could be an implantation bleed (I have never had one so not sure of quantity, consistency etc).

You will need to just sit tight and see what, if anything, happens (I know it's easy for me to say).

Praying for you that it's not AF. ((((hugs))))

ready4motherhood · 20/10/2006 15:21

KitKat, fingers crossed for you, but don't let it get you too down if it is AF. Thinking of you.

KitKat30 · 20/10/2006 15:47

Thanks guys. It's stopped now so I'm feeling slightly less panicked. Really hoping it's implantation bleed... keep running to the loo to check, and so far so good. Keep everything crossed for me. Will keep you posted. xxx

MrsMcJnr · 20/10/2006 16:10

Thinking of you KitKat, know how it feels. Fingers crossed that it's just an implantation bleed but if not and AF comes, the new cycle and BD time will be here before you know it x

KitKat30 · 20/10/2006 16:24

Cheers everyone - what would I do without you all?!

1n2s · 20/10/2006 18:30

Hi all ;) Can I join the countdown till we are all rejoicing in +ve pregnancy tests? Been trying TGP since May this year. Not getting any younger - am 34 and cruising towards 35 Am aware when ovulating as get period type pains on day 12 so we've been trying at the right time for at least 3-4months. Trying not to think about it all too much which is difficult when remebering to pop folic acid, buying ovulation test kits and limiting alcohol intake!! All pals are married with babies so no-one to moan to!!

mrspf · 20/10/2006 20:27

Hello all,

I was too impatient and tested yesterday (digital test) and got a BFN. Wasn't really surprised as it was early (AF due today), and don't really feel pregnant. AF still hasn't arrived yet, but I will resist buying any more tests. We'll have to see how long my resistance lasts!

Kitkat30- fingers crossed it was an implantation bleed.

PinkButterfly · 21/10/2006 08:50

Welcome 1in2s - fingers crossed that you get your BFP very soon.

Mrspf - sorry about your BFN - haven't used the digital tests myself. Always use first response or clearblue early tests. Everything still crossed for you - it ain't over until the old bag appears!!!

Kitkat - What's happening ????

xx

Am desperate to do PT - is too soon a week after ovulation? Got a free test with ovulation test kits which is too tempting!! Will any results show this soon?

PinkButterfly · 21/10/2006 10:56

With first response and clear blue you can test up to 4 days before AF due but % accuracy is lower at 4 days then increases each day as you get closer to AF. In saying that both times I have used these tests 4 days early I have had accurate positive results (depends on how much hormone you are producing). I was only 9dpo when I got my faint positive this time but as I say everyone is different and some don't even get positives until a week after AF due.

There are tests on a website I recommended to KitKat which are eight quid for five and say that they pick up 10miu of hormone which is more sensitive than most of the major brands on the market. Maybe you should get them for early days so not spending a lot of money on expensive testing. Sure they are called Access Diagnosics (sure we mentioned on this thread).

Certainly 7dpo is way early and I would wait until at least 10dpo.

Afternoon ladies, came for a sneak peak! Welcome to PB & KK's thread 1n2s! I am on my 5th cycle of TTC and not in the 2WW (should OV Monday) but they seemed like nice ladies so I came in for a chat and liked it so much I stayed Plus I think they are lucky with PB getting her BFP and things looking good for KK, I'm staying! I know how you feel about RL friends. I am 33 in Dec and most of my friends have school age kids!

I found this on another site that I go on sometimes, it's American and too scary & technical most of the time but I thought you'd all like this:

Positive BFP Percentages according to dpo:

  • 35% at 10dpo
  • 51% at 11dpo
  • 62% at 12dpo
  • 68% at 13dpo
  • 74% at 14dpo
  • 80% at 15dpo
  • 88% at 16dpo
  • 92% at 17dpo (and then there are those who got BFNs until 21dpo!)

I'd say 9dpo is the earliest that it is worth testing but this chart makes me hold out until later!

MrsPF - hope this chart helps you too, fingers crossed.

KitKat30 · 21/10/2006 14:06

Hello girls

Am a bit up and down today . After yesterday afternoon's mini bleed I had absolutely nothing else. Took another test this morning - still BFN. Bit more bleeding as well this morning - but it seems to have stopped now.

OK - now sorry if this is way TMI but i need your opinions!! Yesterday it was pretty browny in colour, as it was this morning... BUT it was definitely looking more red than brown...

I didnt use a tampon because I wanted to see how heavy it was - just one of those mini liners - and it was never enough to come on to it in any way. It was just there when...ahem... I wiped . Now seems to have stopped....

I have no idea what's going on - whether it's AF or implantation?! I dont feel pregnant - no symptoms other than cramps. Just so worried and a bit teary...

MrsMcJnr · 21/10/2006 14:14

KitKat - I don't know if that is implantation or not but that's not AF so fingers crossed she won't turn up. You probably know this rule already but AF has not officially arrived and your cycle is not over until there is enough blood to need to use something and it should be pretty red blood. HTH, hang in there, what will be will be, hugs.

MrsMcJnr · 21/10/2006 14:20

KitKat - totally off the current topic but have you seen \link{http://www.mooncup.co.uk/this about mooncups!} found it on another thread!

MrsMcJnr · 21/10/2006 14:20
