Hello Meeli that's not old!! Welcome! I'm a first-timer too. I know exactly what you mean about symptom spotting, I don't really know if all the things I'm noting are really as good as signs or just twinges, body playing tricks etc - nature is very cruel!!! What stage are you at in the cycle? you said post OV?

MrsMcJnr · 02/11/2006 17:02

ohh KitKat, hello to you too, how rude am I

Meeli · 02/11/2006 17:26

Hi, I am still not sure about the working out thing and I have not used an ov kit yet but I think I am one week post ovulation. Not been actively trying long at all and I was hoping in a mad fit of optimism that I would become pg immediately...oh the bliss of ignorance! How is it going with you?

MrsMcJnr · 02/11/2006 17:29

I was the same. It is very disappointing each month when you don't fall but you do (with the huge support of Mumsnetters) pull yourself back up again and start all over again! I have been charting for 4 cycles and I do like the knowledge it gives me, it is easier to deal with AF somehow if I know she is coming from my temp dropping. I am due tomorrow so highly nervous today - in 4 cycles, I have never reached 11dpo and tomorrow will be that. Praying for my temps to stay high and for a BFP on Sat when I plan to test if she does not pitch up.

Meeli · 02/11/2006 17:30

I was recommended a good book called 'Taking charge of your fertility' and it seems a good idea, but maybe I'll give it a few more days until I spend money...all this optimism must count for something. I haven't been all through the threads so forigve me if I am asking something already responded to....how long have you been trying KitKat?

MrsMcJnr · 02/11/2006 17:32

The book is FAB, I use it like a bible! Well worth it. A new edition comes out this month. Whilst it is good for TTC it is good for natural birth control after pregnancy and when you are breast feeding and also for gyny help generally. I bought mine from Amazon.

Meeli

I am 38 and holding I went off pill in June and still no luck, I was on it for 13 years and so all the menstrual and ovulation symptoms I didn't quite remember but I do get sick to my stomach for about a week, feel like throwing up and not preg. I also get pressure down there when I'm ovulating, anybody get that, feels like uterus is falling out for about 5 days :0 It is terrible because I think for older women like us, it's even more nerve racking when it doesn't happen because our clock is ticking way too loud Good luck

Hi everyone (hey MrsMcJ )

Meeli - this is just my 2nd month of trying - also am naïvely hoping it will happen immediately! I haven't got the book, but I am using the clearblue fertility monitor which gives you low, high and peak fertility readings. This is my 1st month of using it though - so not sure if it's going to be worth the money! I like anything that helps me take the guesswork out of it all!

MrsMcJ - soooo excited for you!!! I really hope this is your month hon. Have been reading your November posts and the symptoms sound v positive. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Meeli · 03/11/2006 09:26

Looks like we are all in the same boat and that is so reassurring. By the law of averages some people must get pg immediately, so good luck everyone.

I might have a look at that book - I know that more information is good and it is so good to know that other people also get the one-two week nausea thing.

I can't believe how sick I feel and I was beginning to imagine that it was something sinister. I am just the sort of person who should not be paying attention to bodily symptoms

MrsMcJnr · 03/11/2006 09:35

Morning all, welcome Wishing1! Having an annoying morning with my TTC software, it has decided to change my OV date to a day later than before and is now predicting AF tomorrow when it was meant to be today - gggggrrr. I did a cheapy test this morning but it was BFN, don't feel that game is over yet though, we'll see what happens tomorrow!!

Wishing1 - you sound a bit like me, I came off the pill in June after 18 years and had totally forgotten how real cycles felt! Feel such a wimp complaining about PMS etc but I'd blissfully forgotten. Babydust to you.
