For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

Hi Disney - I'm currently on 2nd cycle with SI, waiting to poas next week. I took them to sort out my ovulation which was always fairly late in my longish cycle. First cycle using it, ov was brought forward by 5 days, to cd 18, this cycle I ov'd cd 14.
There are a couple of lovely ladies on the TTC bus threads that have had their bfp after using SI. One on first cycle, the other on second cycle.
Good luck! Smile

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 23/10/2014 22:01

I have slightly irregular cycles ranging between 28-35 days, so hoping SI will help. I will be taking it days 3-7 at dosages- 100mg for first three days then 150mg on days 6 and 7. What days/ dosages have you taken if you don't mind me asking? Fx and good luck for you BFP this month!

My cycles were anywhere from30 up to 45! Last cycle was 28, although I would have preferred my luteal phase to have been a little longer. It was 11 days, when normally it's 12/13.
I took it cd2-6
First cycle:
120,120,160,160,200
Second cycle,
120,160,160,200,200.
Really decided to go for it!
Hope it works some magic for youSmile

GingerbreadHead · 23/10/2014 22:36

Ooh me! I have just finished taking it, took it cd4-8, only 100mg a day though as I have pretty regular 25-28 day cycles, with a positive opk every month around cd14-17, so my LP is usually on the shorter side. I have been trying for 17 months now with no luck, so also thought it can't hurt to try it! If I have no luck this cycle, and it doesn't mess around with my cycle too much I might up the dose a bit next month, or take it cd3-7, or both! Really hope it works for us!

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 23/10/2014 22:48

I can't wait to see how we all get on with it, I'm quite excited tbh after reading brilliant stories about SI.

Thanks Disney :)

Hi, I've taken soy for 2 cycles. I have regular 28 day cycles and ov on cd11/12 ish.
I'm taking it because I'm older and I want to improve the egg quality.

Both cycles I took it from cd3-7.
Seating on 100mg and last day 200mg.
First cycle I ov'd as normal and af arrived at usual time.
Second cycle I got a positive opk on cd9 and ff confirmed I had ov'd early as I was temping. Af arrived this morning on cd22, very early but I lp was 12 days so ok I guess.

Anyway this cycle I think I'll take it from cd 4or 5.

Good luck ladies, please report back if you get your soy bfpGrin

Metalhead · 24/10/2014 09:36

I'm also just on my first cycle trying soy, started at CD4 with 100mg and then upped this dose to 150mg for CD7&8. I usually have somewhat irregular cycles between 32-37 days, though last month it was 46!

We've been ttc for over a year with one mmc, and I've just had bloods done which showed that I'm ovulating already, but I thought it might be worth a try anyway to either bring ov forward a bit or strengthen the egg.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 24/10/2014 10:16

I'm on my first day of taking it now, cd 3 and I've taken 100mg. Spinning, I'm also hoping that it will strengthen my egg quality as I suspect this is what might have caused the two early miscarriages. Good luck all!

Watching with interest! I'm 37 so want to improve egg quality like spinninggirl but ovulate late (cd19 last cycle). My cycles vary between 25-33 days so I think I have everything to gain by taking SI!

Where are people buying it from?

EnglishGirlsReturned · 24/10/2014 13:18

Mine are from Tesco

Metalhead · 24/10/2014 13:22

I ordered mine online from Nature's Best.

BobsyBoo · 24/10/2014 20:57

I took Soy for last cycle but later realised I'd taken too low a dose, so I'm going to take them this cycle on cycle days 3-7, starting on Sunday. Will probably start with 120mg. I got mine from Tesco too each tablet is 40mg.

Good luck to everyone.

Frolicacid · 24/10/2014 23:02

Can I join? I'm on cycle day 5 and have just taken my first dose. I have fairly long cycles (33 days) and usually ovulate 2 weeks before AF. I'm hoping the dog will strengthen my egg and maybe reduce my cycle length a bit.
How is everyone getting on? Any side effects yet? I'm taking mine at night as I read it minimises them.

Good luck!

Frolicacid · 25/10/2014 09:05

Oh dear - just re read and realised my mistake! It's not the dog that I hope will strengthen my egg, it's the soy! Anything involving the dog would be weird! Damn autocorrect!

ICallHimGerald · 25/10/2014 10:01

Ooohhh I have mine sitting waiting for AF to arrive. I got them from nature's best too as there isn't a tesco near us.

I am going to take them because I am way too old and my cycle is playing silly buggers at the moment. Will be so interesting to hear of some bfps

BobsyBoo · 25/10/2014 11:27

Well my cycle is playing up again! Spotting since Tuesday or what I can only class as spotting no proper bleed as such yet. Thought I'd be starting taking them on Sunday on what should be CD3, but I don't appear to be at CD1 yet, I guess I just need to wait it out for the proper AF bleed to start, it's just annoying.

Metalhead · 25/10/2014 15:31

frolic I had a slightly funny tummy the last couple of days of taking them and have been pretty exhausted, though I not sure that's down to the soy.

spinningirl10 · 25/10/2014 17:18

Haha frolic, that made me laugh!! We'll all be rushing out to buy a dogGrin

Allthefours · 25/10/2014 19:48

I've decided to bite the bullet and take soy this cycle too. Started today which is CD3 with 120mg.

I have very irregular cycles, last one following early MC was 56 days. We have been TTC for 2 years now, with 1 MMC and 1 MC. Being slightly older, I want to try to improve egg quality as well as try to shorten my cycles.

Fingers crossed and good luck to all!

Moomin37 · 25/10/2014 19:55

I came off the pill (Yasmin) in July and no sign of AF yet (CD 108) although my GP says I might still be ovulating. I've got some SI from Tesco and started taking one tablet a day (40 mg) to see if that makes AF get a bloody move on. Not sure this is a good idea or not?! Opinions and advice welcome Smile

Frolicacid · 25/10/2014 19:57

Thanks metal, I will watch put for a dodgy tum. I am going to be tired in the next few days as we are babysitting 18month old nephew and 9 year old niece for the weekend. No extra hour in bed for us tomorrow!
I took 100mg soy last night. No side effects so far. I did have a lovely dream about getting a positive pregnancy test though, which I hope is a good omen.
What day is everyone upping their dose? I think I'll go 100mg again tonight and then up to 150 for the two last doses.

Lol spinning, can you imagine all the serious dog breeder types going ballistic with crazed women getting dogs just to boost their fertility Grin. They would have to make new car stickers, "a dog is for life, not just for BFP" !!
