For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

Update: af arrived and I'm now on to my next cycle. I've gone for it with the soya tablets this time and took 160mg yesterday which was CD1...my last cycle was 61 days so I want to strengthen and bring forward ov as much as poss!

Any news from anyone else?

auxiliaryauroch · 23/04/2015 08:07

Hi laura. I'm still waiting for a positive opk but I'm hoping that the masses of ewcm I've had yesterday and today indicates ov coming. If so the si would have brought my ov forward by seven days and hopefully cause me to actually release an egg, which would be amazing and hopefully leave me with a lengthened lp as well to allow for implantion. Will update when I know more. Fwiw I took cd2/3 (not sure as af arrived overnight) and started below 100 and built up to about 200 (my pills were odd amounts so funny totals). Good luck for you!

auxiliaryauroch · 23/04/2015 08:08

Should read cd2/3 - cd 6/7 above.

Lauraqc · 23/04/2015 09:05

Ooh that'd be a good result then aux - keep us posted!

Lollipop2015 · 06/07/2015 09:41

Hi ladies. I'm considering taking SI on my next cycle if I don't get a BFP this cycle, as this is our 8th month of ttc. I'm currently taking Evening Primrose Oil and Agnus Castus. Does anyone know if I should stop taking these with SI? Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Lauraqc · 14/07/2015 22:58

Hi Lollipop only just seen this post sorry! I think agnus castus shouldn't be taken with soy isoflavones but I don't know where I've got that from - it's just something in the back of my mind! Fingers crossed one of them works for u tho!

I couldn't take my soy tablets this month as I was on hols and didn't dare to take the tablets thru the airport!!! Wouldn't have been a great start to the hols to be spending the night being interrogated in a Spanish holding cell!!!!

How's everyone else?

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 15/07/2015 07:06

I agree about not taking soy and a.c. together.
I had no luck with soy but was referred to a fertility specialist so this cycle I have been given letrozole (a slightly more expensive but also marginally better alternative to clomiphene), had an hcg shot, and am now on progesterone pessaries. Will see what happens. Hmm

Lollipop2015 · 19/07/2015 19:59

Thanks ladies. I've just got my period today ???? so went straight out and bought the soy. Really hoping it works for me. Baby dust to you both x

Lauraqc · 28/07/2015 08:20

Ooh good luck Lollipop keep us updated! I missed that last cycle with soy as we were on hols but waiting for ov now, I'm on CD25 and no sign yet....

Tollygunge · 16/08/2015 21:31

I've just gotten a bfp after 6 months ttc. Took 200mg of soy cd2-6. Ovulated much earlier than usual. Also used pre seed. Fingers crossed it sticks.

Orangesarenot · 17/08/2015 21:39

Hi there
Sorry if this is a silly question, but where are you getting your SI tablets nowadays? Tesco has stopped stocking them. Amazon and H&B only seem to stock 750mg tablets and most of the doses mentioned above seem to be a lot lower (120mg etc). Am I being dense? (probably!)
Thanks very much.

Tollygunge · 17/08/2015 22:12

I bought natures aid from Amazon

Orangesarenot · 18/08/2015 00:13

Tolly thank you and congrats on your BFP

Lauraqc · 18/08/2015 22:33

Congrats Tolly!

Tulip301 · 28/09/2015 21:43

Congrats Tolly!! I been reading lots on si and decided to try it this month after 3months ttc.

Taking soy isoflavones on : cd 2-6 ...only day 3 now, so I will see what happens.

I previously tried vitex for 3 months due to irregularities. ..but didn't seem to be ovulating. So I'm trying something different this month. :)

Hi

I see this thread hasn't been updated in a bit so i hope no one minds me posting on it!

I have been taking SI for the past two cycles, My last cycle was verging on 160 days thanks to PCOS so i thought i'd take 5 days of SI. Not sure if i ovulated however it gave me a proper period around 20 days after starting these SI's. I am now on CD 9 having taken SI again this cycle. No positive OPK yet but hoping it works again this cycle. Anyone else out there taking SI?

Soy isoflavones

Hi all!
We have been trying to conceive for the past 12 months with no luck as of yet. Both myself and my partner have had all relevant tests (all came back fine) eating well and exercising.
My friend who is also TTC mentioned about soy isoflavones and said they increase your estrogen levels therefore you are more likely to conceive.
I have been doing some research on them and I've read not to take them if you already have a regular cycle as it can cause hormone in balance. My cycle is pretty much like clockwork between 30-31 days.
My question is.. has anyone taken the soy isoflavones who already has a regular cycle, and managed to conceive?
Thanks
