For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

I'm on cycle 18 now with 2 miscarriages this year, so sounds like we are all in good company.

Oh Mama, that is fantastic news!!! I'm so pleased for her, where does she hang out now, I'd love to Congratulate herGrin

spinningirl10 · 31/10/2014 20:56

New and ginger, sorry to hear you're both still waiting for sticky bfp's, it's a long slog for some some of us. I really hope we see a few bfp's on this thread soon Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 31/10/2014 22:18

Hi Mama !! Big kisses hello Grin I'm super chuffed to hear about onelifeonechance's BFP - if you can hear me onelife CONGRATULATIONS!! Thanks

Mama Based on spinning's experience, I don't think the timing of your ovulation is bad, but what happens after isn't ideal and I don't think you want ovulation too early as egg may not be properly matured. If anything, you want a nice well rounded ovulation up to CD14 with lots of oestrogen and then hopefully, this will kick in a good dose of progesterone that will give a good home and a better LP! I read that those with no tube/ovulation issues who struggle with progesterone are prescribed Clomid to improve the first half of the cycle. Try taking it CD4-8 or CD5-9 and you should expect to ovulate 3-7 days later.

Good Luck!

Just reading everyone's stories. Best of luck to everyone and let's keep the 100% success rate of this thread going!

Hi, don't know if it's of any use to anyone but as well as soy I took a vitamin b-complex to improve Progesterone in the LP. I usually suffered from lots of PMS symptoms during the tww but found they were dramatically reduced - I used to get really sore boobs that made me wince when DP gavel hug but this almost went completely. I think that using this to strengthen post O and Soy for pre O really helped. I was charting my BBT too and my temps became much more settled too.

Metalhead · 01/11/2014 09:46

Hi ladies, I just got my +opk on CD16, the earliest ever! (I might even have had a positive yesterday, it was kind of borderline and I didn't have a CB to double check, so will count today). So the soy seems to be doing something! Smile

I'm only on cycle 7 post mc (took 4 cycles to get pregnant with that bean), but because I've had very long and erratic cycles in the past we've actually been ttc for about 15 months in total.

NewEraNewMindset · 01/11/2014 10:17

Sounds good Metal Grin

I'm just waiting for AF to arrive, should be tomorrow, then I'm going to take soy next cycle. I'm excited lol!!

spinningirl10 · 01/11/2014 10:40

That's good MetalGrin

Probably, that's interesting to know about the B6, maybe I should give that a try.

Mam31 · 01/11/2014 11:12

Thanks Kitty! Hope you are feeling well. Oh I thought I should be taking the soy earlier to increase my LP? If I ov later would that not make my LP even shorter? Or will the soy give me a longer cycle? Sorry no idea about all of this!

NewEraNewMindset · 01/11/2014 12:25

So I've just picked up soy from Tesco. They have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment so picked up evening primrose oil too as that is meant to help with EWCM.

BobsyBoo · 01/11/2014 15:30

Metal it's good when you know the Soy is doing something, it brought my ov forward by 3 days & didn't even take enough.

NewEra that is interesting about evening primrose oil, I've taken it for years as it stops period cramps. I do get a lot of EWCM around my fertile window so it must be down to the evening primrose oil.

Frolicacid · 01/11/2014 18:59

Hi everyone! My opk's are getting stronger, so I'm hoping the soy I did manage to take is doing something. I think I'm coming into my fertile time a bit sooner than usual, so have kicked off the dtd-a-thon Grin

newera, I took 3000mg epo last month to improve ewcm as I don't get much. It worked a treat! I have taken 1000mg every day for years to help with sore boobs before af, so obviously needed the higher dose. I think that you are meant to stop after ovulation if ttc as it causes uterine contractions, which aren't good for implantation. It also seems to give me strong nails, which is a nice bonus!

BobsyBoo · 02/11/2014 11:49

Frolicacid thanks for the info about epo, I'm going to stop taking it after ovulation & see if that helps as well as everything else I'm trying at the moment. This is my 22nd cycle of TTC so here's hoping this is the one!

NewEraNewMindset · 02/11/2014 12:05

I'm still waiting for AF to arrive. Am quite excited that it looks like age will be here tomorrow instead and I've managed to add a day onto my LP by taking 100mg B6 a day!

NewEraNewMindset · 02/11/2014 12:05

*she

spinningirl10 · 02/11/2014 15:26

I'm on cd10 and took my last soy dose of 200mg last night. Now waiting to ov, usually get a positive on cd11 but thinking it will be later as no hint of a line on opks.

Hope we see another bfp here soonGrin

Frolicacid · 02/11/2014 15:38

Maybe tmi, bobsy, but epo seemes to be making a difference to me again this month. I have already seen ewcm. I'm only on day 14 and don't usually ovulate until days 17-20.
Maybe the soy I did manage to take has bought ovulation forward a bit. I am opk POAS like mad just in case!

NewEraNewMindset · 02/11/2014 15:51

Spinning what days did you take it on? I read 5-9, are you doing similar?

KittyVonCatsington · 02/11/2014 16:06

Mama you really want to aim for a better ovulation which should naturally, in turn, give you a better LP. Besides, LP doesn't matter once you catch that egg-the best lining possible with the right level of hormones is what you want!
Although I always ovulated much much later than you, some months, my LP would be 10 days, one month was 9 days, some months longer. Getting the oestrogen and therefore FSH to do it's magic, at the start, helped me much more the extra vit B6 ever did (gave that up three cycles before BFP)!

spinning's experiment taking them earlier on her already early ovulation didn't fare so well (hope you don't mind me saying that spinning!) so it's worth a try taking them a few days later Smile

I only got EWCM only on the day I ovulated (day after positive OPK) I remember being worried that the Soy Isos had dried me up but when it mattered, I had it in abundance Blush

Ainat266 · 02/11/2014 17:05

Glad to hear so many positive stories!

I'm in a bit of a different situation - I stopped taking the pill at the very end of August, had a withdrawal bleed pretty much straight away, but nothing since meaning I think I'm on CD63. Would SI help induce my periods if I started taking it?

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 02/11/2014 18:21

I'm on cd12 and no sign of ovulation yet, but trying not to stress about it. I'm using cb digi ovulation sticks and taking high dose EPO like you Frolic. Last cycle I ovulated cd21 but I do occasionally ovulate on a perfect cd14. The wait to ovulate is driving me nuts, never mind the tww!

Frolicacid · 02/11/2014 19:31

Just had this pretty positive looking opk. Looks like the soy is doing it's stuff and bought my ovulation forward by around 5 days.
Only problem is that DH has a horrible cold. I think I may have my work cut out to get him in the mood Wink

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 02/11/2014 19:35

Ooh that is a strong positive Frolic! I think you need to explain to him about his duty of keeping our 100% success rate on this thread going, haha. Not very sexy though...

Good luck!
