New thread ladies, hope it brings us all good luck.

Buried under the pages of my thesis so I haven't written much lately, but just wanted to cheer on Ruby, and say that Mademoiselle, exactly the same thing happened to me - about six weeks after having DD2 I bled so lightly that I wasn't even sure it was a period. Then had a long wait and a proper period follows about eight weeks later. I did a bit of research online and it seems that this is definitely within the realms of normal. So don't panic! (But so also ask your midwife about this if you are still worried - let us know what she says!).

Critter, good luck with the transfer this week, will be thinking of you.

AFM, we have been ttc this month with great enthusiasm, now just waiting until I can test.

MademoiselleG · 16/09/2014 15:41

Thank you Betty - like the fact you seem to be an information junkie like me (or should I say: all of us??)! It's just frustrating to wait I guess. But at least I try to take comfort in the fact that I'm giving my body the best chances to be healthy (if we ignore the wine and lack of exercise...) while it recovers. I'm not officially supposed to be trying right now anyway as the consultant advised me to take the higher dose of folic acid for 3 months before trying again, which would put us into October. So I'm going to relax and chill...and enjoy wine while I can!
I'm liking that you're approaching ttc with enthusiasm; sounds like one great baby in the making! How is your thesis going?

Big wave to Critter, ATM, Earth, MissA, Kayleigh, Ducky and of course Ruby and anyone I have forgotten.

CritterPants · 16/09/2014 18:00

ruby hope you're doing ok and that little one is out safely and you're recovering now.

madem and betty I had the exact same thing - a very light two day bleed about six or seven weeks after the birth (after the lochia was gone), then seven weeks later a proper period. My periods are usually crazy and infrequent due to my PCOS so I was very surprised.

Thanks everyone for checking on me - transfer is tomorrow for twibling number two. Nervous already and still feeling the odd cramp (and hate the progesterone pessaries you have to take) but glad to be getting on with it.

Good luck to everyone TTC, calm and positive thoughts to our lovely preggos. earth your little chap sounds absolutely gorgeous and smooshable.

I just had a really fun weekend on a bachelorette - I had a better time than I have had since January, and I am so grateful that I was able to enjoy the weekend. I only had one moment of sadness, when one of the girls there (who had her son in November last year) was saying how awful it had been to leave him for the weekend, and I just thought about how my son died and how I wished I was in her position - but that sadness passed and I was able to have a good time and actually experience some joy and silliness. And the girls were really, really nice to me.

kayleighferrie1985 · 16/09/2014 18:36

ruby i hope your little one is safely with you now and that you're recovering well.

critter i will be thinking of you tomorrow, and glad you had a lovely weekend, even though there was the moment of sadness.

AFM had a lovely evening on Saturday with our brilliant friends to celebrate one of my closest friends being back in England for 10 years. It did get slightly raucous, but there were some good laughs. I did feel guilty at times for enjoying myself but i suppose we're all entitled to smile at some point. I'm pretty sure i'm ovulating at present so fingers crossed

Waves to ducky missa betty madem lake blue and earth xx

kayleigh a raucous evening sounds great Grin and you definitely shouldn't feel guilty. We have to grab these happy moments and enjoy them, as we all know life can be far too short.

Hope your thesis is going ok betty - do you have a deadline?

Waves to all x

SpanielFace · 17/09/2014 07:05

Congratulations Ruby! And what a name! Great news to wake up to.

Good luck Critter, sticky vibes coming your way.

I tested this morning as AF still not here, and it was negative. I'm half sad and half relieved - we have our appointment for PM results next week and I really wanted to know those first before starting TTC, I think I would have been shocked and fairly terrified if it had been an unplanned BFP. My head is not in the right place just yet. Sad

SpanielFace · 17/09/2014 07:21

*what a lovely name, that was meant to say!

Ducky23 · 17/09/2014 07:30

Good luck critter! Grin

Spaniel, when is AF due? I think both a bfn and a BFP can be very difficult to deal with, whatever happens we are all here for support

I'm going to work smiling about Ruby's news - that sounds a bit creepy! Grin

Waves to everyone

Just a quickie - many many congratulations to you and Mr. Ruby! Beautiful name!

SpanielFace · 17/09/2014 08:56

Ducky AF is 3 days late. So I'm sure I was overreacting - I've never been that regular anyway. It was just that we had unprotected sex on holiday, and then the sore boobs, which was the 1st sign I noticed when I conceived DS, a full week before my BFP.

I'm a bit of an emotional wreck at the moment. DS was watching The Lion King last night, and I was unexpectedly in tears at the opening sequence with baby Simba! Just ridiculous, I'm not usually someone who cries at Disney films! Alex's due date is approaching, and we have PM appointment next week, so I guess it's all getting to me.
