Here we are ladies, part 5, with a new spin to the title to include some of us long-timers!
May it bring many, many more BFPs and some happy, healthy babies Smile

I will google thanks! Yh I had coil after birth and bled heavily for 6 moths solid. Apparantly they push the coil as its cheapest! :/ I had awful time on it - but my dm and aunties swear by it, so... Guess it depends :)

CallingAllEngels · 22/03/2014 08:32

Welcome odaat.

I think all ADs carry some element of risk, as hard to prove they're 100%safe in pregnancy, but obviously that has to be weighed up with the risk to you and your health. I think discussion with gp or mental health care professional like a psychiatrist is the best way forward. I think that some medication can't be taken while bf?

Not something I've experienced myself, but have read quite a few discussions on here. My DH is on ADs and I was really worried about us ttc again, as ttc DS (lack of success, took us 18 months, followed by mc before I got pg) was a huge factor in the onset of DH's depression and meant I didn't get the emotional and practical support I felt like I needed from him during pregnancy and in the first few years of DS's life. Things are going better now so am hoping this time it won't take too long (up to 9 mo ths ttc now) but having DS makes everyhting easier.

CallingAllEngels · 22/03/2014 08:36

Posted too soon!

Glad to hear you're getting some peace swede.

We are off outside shortly mrs. Our garden is a jungle and a rubbish tip and we really want to make it safer for ds. Have a tower with slide to build but just need somewhere to put it! Tomorrow I'm running a 5k race...training has been a bit patchy this year so not going to be breaking any personal records.

I have a feeling af is on her way. Just a hunch.

I will probably go back on the pill after anotherdc as it really helps my skin. I don't like the idea of the coil and dh doesn't want to have the snip and I wouldn't be heartbroken if I got pg with dc3 anyway!

HungryHorace · 22/03/2014 09:44

Morning!

Engels, good luck for tomorrow. Fx AF stays away. :-)

I'm going onto the implant at my 6 week check up, I think (you can BF with it, which is good). Hopefully I won't have many years before things start to tail off!

DD's godfather is coming for lunch today. No other plans apart from that. It does seem nice out though.

CallingAllEngels · 22/03/2014 10:28

Change of plans...raining so I'm blitzing the house while dh is in the garage and ds plays inside.

keep thise fx hungry!

have a good day everyone.

CallingAllEngels · 22/03/2014 12:11

AF is here, so one more shot at a 2014 baby next month.

Putting a bottle of wine in the fridge for this evening!

Odaat · 22/03/2014 13:35

Hi calling. Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear your AF came , maybe next month! Enjoy the yummy, cool wine :)

I know ads carry a risk, though most agree certain ones are minimal in a risk factor. I belive to bf i have to be on a certain one, so I will prob transfer to that one soon in order to ensure I am in it for the next dc (if I am still on them by then) ideally I wish to stop taking them by xmas - then this would be a full year of using them. But then again, maybe longer. Who knows. Tbh my mind keeps changing on how long, all I know is a good while anyway (to ensure maximum effect this time) I sometimes question if ttc is the right the to so as I am in ads, but over all I think it is ok and rather more common than I realised!

Odaat · 22/03/2014 13:36

*right thing to do as I am on ads (stupid phone !!)

CallingAllEngels · 22/03/2014 14:24

I think a lot of the 'risks' are simply because they can't test drugs on pregnant women - the list of things you can't use in pg is ridiculous! When we were ttc DS I had terrible problems with acne and there were very few things my doctor could prescribe me, just in case I got pg.

DH is coming off his ADs at the moment and really struggling to adapt every time he makes a small change - hope he's not doing it too quickly. He's been on them for over 2 years and started reducing dose a few months ago.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the day. Wine for everyone who needs it!

morerummorefun · 22/03/2014 15:23

welcome odaat! good luck ttc and coming of ad's I personally have no experience with them so I can't offer any advice xx
sorry af got you calling Sad enjoy your wine xx
2 more shifts till im a sahm! Im quite nervous think reality has hit me. ill be 29weeks tomorrow.
mrs my mat leave will start on 7/4/14 I have 5 days holiday to use up for next week.
my back is really sore today using both crutches instead of just the one. who was asking about us pregos dtd? We've not done it this year neither of us can be arsed plus I bleed which is a major put off!

mrsm22 · 22/03/2014 16:49

Hi everyone, well it's been raining here all day and we are without hot water yet again so have had to stay in all day and wait for British shitty Gas. We've had them out now 7 times in the last two weeks and I'm so upset about not having heating and got water every few days. I think we need a new boiler by the looks but just can't afford to get one.
More rum - Great news your mat leave starts soon. Mine starts on 29th march.
Hi Calling - Sorry AF got you! I hope you're ok.
Hi again to Odaat and Hungry and anyone else I've missed. Just a quick hello really as I'm exhausted today. DS has a cold and was up all night snuffling and I've had about two hours sleep. Have a good weekend all x

Odaat · 22/03/2014 17:39

Yeh that sounds like it calling, they have to be so careful understandably! Sure your dh will be ok if he is weaning off them slowly. I am only on a very small dose so I imagine I will be able to wean off them very quickly when time is right :)

I am excited to speak to doc on mond. Yaya! All feels so real - almost! Let's hope dh is on board 100% :)

Odaat · 22/03/2014 17:41

Hi morerum!
Hope your last shifts go ok fr you :) sounds like you need the rest if you are on crutches...!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 22/03/2014 21:07

Sorry about AF calling, are you ok?
Hope you are enjoying tucking into your wine!

Welcome odaat, I don't have any experience with ADs, but I do think you need to do what is best for you and I hope your Dr is able to work around that. With regards to how long you will take to conceive, I conceived my DD first month with no issues whatsoever, with #2 I am 10 months in with still no luck and cycles that are becoming more and more irregular. I don't want to put you down but just thought maybe you should be aware that it could take longer than you expect, I am still a bit shocked that it still hasn't happened for me, despite DD being so easy and DH and I still being young and healthy. So maybe this is something to think about when wondering when to start ttc? Maybe if the Dr gives you the go ahead you could just drop contraception and not actively start ttc til you feel ready? Sorry hope I don't sound all doom and gloom! We didn't start trying until I knew I definately wanted a baby like now, so I wish I'd been prepared for it to take a while.

mrs bloody boilers! Really hope you get it sorted soon.

rum sorry you're still in pain, the finish line is in sight though!

CallingAllEngels · 22/03/2014 21:33

I'm okay, though haven't opened wine as remembered my 5k tomorrow and thought better of it!

Am using another month of not being pregnant as an excuse to buy nice clothes Grin

Odaat · 23/03/2014 07:06

??enjoy your 5k calling! Thanks gingerbread, yeh you are right i am very broody and very impatient so I think your right re: contraceteption - I will go to docs monday of i can. Want to get this ball rolling :) I did a test this am as boobs are soooo sore ! Its obv just pill giving me bad pmt but I hoped maybe i was somehow pregnant! Did anyone else experience really really sore boobs on the pill?

mrsm22 · 23/03/2014 07:57

Hi Ginger - you conceived really quickly with your DD, whereas I was 7 months getting pregnant with my DS and second time round it's me who got pregnant straight away and you are taking a bit longer. But if you think about it, it's been 10 months so far for you and it took 7 months for me with DS so there isn't much difference in that. It just shows it can be different every time whether first second or thurs time of trying. But all doctors say it can take anything up to a year for most normal healthy couples and you're still within that year timescale. So I don't think it's all doom and gloom. Probably because you fell pregnant so quick first time you will have expected it to be the same second time maybe. I was the other way, I thought it would take a while second time. I think it will most definitely happen for you within th year so only 3 months left.
Odaat - Good luck for Monday at the doctor.
I'm going to hospital at 2pm tomorrow for blood tests and 28 week anti D appointment and full antenatal check up. The boiler is back up and running but I guarantee it will have 'gone' again within a few days so we are having to give serious thought to buying a new one. Anyone else had to buy a boiler at any time? Just the expense we need with new baby on his way in June. My Dyson Hoover has stopped working too, so having to pay £79 for a Dyson person to come an try fix it tomorrow morning. They say these things happen in 3's so I'm just wondering what's next to go or stop working?!
How's the weekend going for everyone else?

Odaat · 23/03/2014 10:52

Sorry mrs, not experienced broken boiler - cannot believe you have to pay that much to service your Hoover either !?
My Hoover is the state of the art argos one at 20 and does a grand job ( I swear ) and i hve high standards as i rather OCD about a clean house lol...
Good luck with your hosp appointment too :) hope all goes well.
Hope nothing else breaks on you either! Search for two magpies perhaps? Counteract the bad luck!!

mrsm22 · 23/03/2014 18:37

Thanks Odaat

lovesmycake · 24/03/2014 08:20

Morning,

Mrs good luck for your appointment today will you get a scan?

Hello Odaat sorry im another one with no experience of ADD's but i'm sure your doc will have all the advice you need has your husband come round to the idea?

ginger I think mrs is right because you conceived so quickly first time around its 'tripping' you up this time? Me and DH took a year with DS and we are both young(ish) healthy etc thats just how long it took and my sister took 18 months same thing no probs just nature!! Not that that helps my head knows it could take us a year, but my heart isn't listening to reason sometimes..............

Calling Sorry AF got you. How did your 5k go?

Im predicting some lovely April BFP's on the horizon :)

lovesmycake · 24/03/2014 09:11

ginger just read that back and 'tripping' you up isn't what I mean at all - a bad choice of words what i'm trying to say is that as hard as it is for it to take a while to conceive it is in my experience 'normal'.

CallingAllEngels · 24/03/2014 09:24

5k was great...not under 30 minutes but still respectable.

Heading to the spa tonight to soak my muscles with my running partner.

Odaat · 24/03/2014 10:06

Well done calling :)
Hi loves my cake- spoke with dh yesterday and he wishes to try end of summer. :/ I want to now! But its a few months so there we go. I would rather him be 100% up for it too. Its a big thing! I am worried it will take a while though (dd didnt , but I hear it can take ages ttc for no 'reason' as such).

This is why I wish to start asap, to give us a hence start! Should I (gently) push for this? Or wait until end of summer?

lovesmycake · 24/03/2014 10:10

hmm how to (gently) push though ...... these DH are stubborn creatures do you have any friends with newborns? Get him to sniff a newborn that ought to do it Grin always makes me go a bit wibbly!

Odaat · 24/03/2014 14:32

Haha loves this is a good idea!? I have a feeling I am pregnant already though! Odd i know..
