What a lovely post mrs so glad you got the birth you wanted, we went back to the uk for our holiday and visited lots of friends and family we saw two friend who had little newborns I had forgotten just how little they are and how amazing those newborn hugs can be. Sounds like you are loving every minute of it. DS threw up his milk too when he was tiny never seemed to stop him putting on weight though, just upset me because breatfeeding was so hard those first few weeks!!

mrsm22 · 27/06/2014 11:47

Hi Loves - where in the UK were you? You are so right, Henry seems tiny to me but I think it's just because DS1 now looks so big. There is nothing nicer than cuddling and snuggling your newborn baby and I'm sure it won't be long for you Loves. How do you think the trying is going? I remember when we were trying for DS1 and I thought it was never going to happen, I did so many pregnancy tests every month. It only took 7 months but felt like a long time. Looking back that's nothing at all.
I'm glad you said that about the feeding . For the first few days feeding was quite hard with Henry, and he brought it back every feed. I must admit I was really worried as never had this with DS1.
I wonder how Rum and Violet are getting on and how is Better ?

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 29/06/2014 22:10

Hi mrs how is everything? How are you feeling? How is baby Henry? he is absolutely gorgeous, saw the photos from Hungry, and DS1 looks such a proud big brother! Is DH still off work or has he gone back now?

Hi loves nice to hear from you again. Also still not pg and still trying for me! How long have you been trying for now? I am just coming up to a year, DH has just had his SA tests done and should get the results in a couple of weeks.

mrsm22 · 30/06/2014 04:31

Hi Ginger - I'm feeling really good, I get very tired but that's just feeding a baby every 3 hours and running after a toddler. Baby H is doing well, he is taking his feeds much better and is becoming more alert. Thank you, I'm glad you like the pics. I'll keep sending the odd picture to Hungry so you can see how he changes. I'm looking forward to seeing the next due babies from Better and Hungry and also to hearing some more baby news from those of you still waiting. I think DS1 likes baby H, he still kisses him and is very sweet. We are making sure he gets lots of attention as I really don't want him to feel left out, we have decided to buy him a trampoline for the garden this week.
DH is still off work. We decided he would have two weeks off so this week will be his second week off and then he will go back next week, although I know he is loving being at home with us. It is really nice. How are things with you?

RozTheSchnoz · 30/06/2014 07:06

Hello ladies, please can I join you? Ttc no.2 and currently 'enjoying' the whole 'no AF, ridiculously tired, lots of peeing but 2 BFNs' game Sad
Good luck to everyone else on here.

lovesmycake · 30/06/2014 07:51

Hi ginger we have been trying for 10 months now but actually I've gone full circle and we are back to having fun with it, not counting any days and 'TMI alert' we broke our bed last night Blush!!
That's good news that your DH had his tests done, but a long time to wait for results are you nervous? I suppose it's another step closer to answers though?
Hello Roz lot's of waiting for you too it seems hope you get the answers you want soon :)

HungryHorace · 30/06/2014 10:21

Broke your bed?! Go you, loves! :-)

Mrs, not long for me now (and could be sooner if they decide on a 38 ish week ELCS instead). I'm not putting exact dates on here! It'll be July at some point though.

Hi Roz. Good luck!

Windywinston · 06/07/2014 22:02

Hi all, sorry I haven't been back for ages, I've been off mumsnet for a while.

Congratulations to Mrs and Morerum! I'm so pleased your babies have arrived safely and Hungry, I can't believe you're nearly there too, I hope everything goes well for you. Sorry I can't name check or look all the way back on the thread, I'm on my phone and in the middle of a massive cluster feed. However, I hope there have been plenty of BFPs, or at least people are having fun TTCing!

So just to update you, I had another DD at the beginning of June and she's perfect, a very chilled out baby for the most part and luckily she's another excellent sleeper, we currently only have one feed in the night but it means I'm breastfeeding constantly every evening (a small price to pay).

The birth did not go at all according to plan, same complications as last time (baby in distress - turned out the cord was tightly wrapped round her neck again), but this time they had a theatre available, so we were whisked in for an EMCS. It went fine and recovery has been a breeze compared to last time (episiotomy and failed stitches last time). Fortunately the decision to whip her out came early this time as opposed to having to endure days of being in labour, so all in all was a positive experience.

DD1 is so in love with DD2 it's wonderful to see and they look identical! DH and our families have been an amazing help during my recovery so life is pretty good!

I hope Mrs and Morerum are doing well with having 2 DCs, it's hard work but I remind myself that my DDs will hopefully be wonderful companions to each other some day!

HungryHorace · 06/07/2014 22:48

Congratulations, Windy. Sounds like a scary time during the birth, but glad to hear you're recovering well and that your DD is a good sleeper. Also great to hear your older DD loves her too. :-)

Less than 4 weeks to go here. Kind of scary! Can't believe I'll be a mum to 2 soon!

Better is due just before me. Then Kt.

Realised Toothpaste has vanished too. Anyone see her at all?

CallingAllEngels · 07/07/2014 07:48

Congratulations Windy ! Lovely news.

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 07/07/2014 22:47

Hi Windy! Congratulations! Nice to hear from you, how lovely to have two little DDs, and glad DD1 is happy to have a sister, and that you are doing well with recovery.
Oh yeh Hungry, no word from Toothpaste for a while, or Utopian!

Mrs how are things with you?

AlwaysandForever09 · 09/07/2014 12:04

I lost the thread were I've not had the chance to post for a while! hows everyone doing?
congrats to windy we had wondered were you got too! glad your labour was better for you this time round :) glad that your DD1 is loving having a little sister too :)
mrs how you getting on? Henry is gorgeous, hungry showed us some pics :)

mrsm22 · 17/07/2014 19:44

Hi everyone, how are you all? Sorry I haven't been on for a little while, it's so busy with two that I barely get two minutes but I have been meaning to come on and see how everyone is doing. My little boy will be a month old on Saturday and he's doing really well, he's adorable. A laid back baby like my DS1 was but also one that doesn't like to be put down. He likes to be held all the time. I bought one of those Baby Bjorn carriers last week for when we go out sometimes do that I can carry him close to my chest which he likes. He is quite good through the night and sometimes goes 4 hours. I booked my postnatal appointment for when I'm 6 weeks. Do some people have it at 8 weeks or is it normally 6 weeks?
Hungry - How long for you now? How are you feeling?
Windy - congratulations on your DD2! Sorry you didn't have the birth you wanted but thank goodness you have a lovely healthy baby girl. How are you finding it with two?
Always and Better - How are you both?

mrsm22 · 17/07/2014 19:46

Sorry Ginger - How are things with you? Are you still enjoying yourself or have you thought about starting to TTC again?

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 17/07/2014 21:35

Hi Mrs, good to hear from you! Glad things are going well for you at home. My DD was the same, would never be put down, even when you entertained the thought of putting her down she would start crying! Good idea buying a carrier, glad he likes it. Is feeding going ok? how is DS1 managing with the change? How much hard work is it with two!!?
I veer between the two trains of thought to be honest, still trying to enjoy myself and keep up with the social treats, DH and I went out for the night for our anniversary the other day, had a lovely time, but there is always the thought in the back of my mind I would rather be at home with a baby or pregnant right now. It's the worry of it never happening that is getting to me now, I just don't know what I will do if I can't have any more babies. I am hoping to pick up DHs SA results tomorrow, fingers crossed they will be ok. We have been trying quite hard this month, lots of dtd, hopefully it will do the trick. We won't get much chance next month as DHs parents will be staying with us for a month!! Hmm

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 17/07/2014 22:56

Hi Ginger - Wow, how come your DH's parents will be staying with you for a whole month? Do they live far away? Things happen when you least expect it and I still think it will happen for you. In the meantime I would just continue to enjoy life as you're doing , and don't even think about what you'll do if it doesn't happen! It is harder with two, things like when I'm feeding DS2 and DS1 will want one at the same time. Things like getting things done in the house, chores and cleaning and also cooking are all more difficult. I end up stood in the kitchen cooking with a baby in my arms, but I'm hoping things will get easier in time and with more practice. I adore my little baby, he's just so cute and it's really nice having two. The main issue at the moment is the heat and keeping the boys out of it. I will email hungry some more recent pics. Look after yourself Ginger x

mrsm22 · 29/07/2014 22:43

Good evening everyone! How's everyone doing? Sorry that I haven't been on for a while. I hadn't forgotten any of you and have been meaning to come back on, it's just even a bit hectic with baby and toddler and sadly my Nan had a fall and has been in hospital for over two weeks now. I've been really worried about her and been going to the hospital to see her etc . She's not very well after the fall, mobility seems to have gone but hoping that she will go home soon and that she will get her mobility back.
Anyway, my two DS's are both doing well ( it feels strange referring to more than one). DS1 may need a bit of help with his speech so we are talking to the health visitor about possible speech therapy to try help him along. He talks all day non stop but still only has some words and can't put a sentence together that's not in baby talk still. To us he sounds really cute but I don't want him
To struggle to communicate when he goes to nursery in January next year. Has anyone else had any problems like this ? He understands absolutely everything. Funnily enough at the weekend he said 'mama told that man' because I had got annoyed with a guy driving behind us who was driving ridiculously close and was almost sat on our car bumper! It was really cute how he suddenly came out with it. So it's definitely coming !
DS2 is getting bigger and was weighed at 10 pounds last week. He's just adorable and I love to cuddle him. Waiting to see if his eyes will stay blue or go brown. At the moment they are in between so could go either way. DS1 has big blue eyes and DH has blue eyes but mine are brown.
How is everyone else and what's everyone been up to?

HungryHorace · 30/07/2014 08:56

Hi!

Sorry I've been quiet. I was admitted to hospital at 37 weeks as baby was unstable breech lie so they wanted me there in case my waters went as there was risk of cord prolapse.

Which means that I got to meet baby a week early and had my ELCS last week. :-) And we have a gorgeous, teeny, DS called Seth Edward, weighing in at 7lbs 1oz!

I was lucky enough to come home the next day, so we are now trying to get used to having two children around. DD has taken it ok so far. Fingers crossed that continues. :-)

How is everyone?

mrsm22 · 30/07/2014 19:17

Hi Hungry - Huge Congratulations! Love the name and so glad you had a good and safe birth. How is baby Seth feeding and sleeping? How are you finding it with two? It's definitely harder, I'm finding anyway. Is your DD still ok with her new baby brother? I think DS1 likes DS2 but he has these moments where he tries to do awful things to him like throw a piece of Lego at him etc. It drives me mad but then other times he does nice things like kisses him. I'm not sure if it's for attention.

HungryHorace · 01/08/2014 10:12

He's not doing too bad with eating or sleeping. He was refusing to latch, but is getting a bit better so about 85% of his food is breast milk. He sleeps most of the night apart from a couple of feeds. Far better than DD did anyway!

It's tricky with two, especially keeping the older one entertained and occupied.

Overall it's rather amazing having 2 children!

mrsm22 · 02/08/2014 08:36

Hi Hungry - I totally agree, having two children is amazing. Even if rather tiring, it's very worth it. I also agree that much of it is trying to keep your slightly older baby happy and entertained. I try and get DS1 involved in helping me bath DS2 and change nappies etc. Every time I change his nappy DS1 says 'yuck'. He is still only very young himself and so cute and you is even younger.
How's everyone else doing? Where is everyone I wonder?
Better - I have been thinking about you? I hope all is well with you and your baby.
Do we know if Better has had her baby, u assume she must have. I hope everything is ok.

lovesmycake · 05/08/2014 09:13

Congratulations Hungry lovely news I love the name too, the middle name is the same as my DS's so you have excellent taste!

Glad to hear things are going so well for you all. My stepmum suggested a shoebox that you only get out when breastfeeding that has stickers and little toys in it for the older child so they get excited about feeding time rather then resenting it and they get to sit along side you and play with whatever it is so have your attention as well. Just a thought :)

HungryHorace · 05/08/2014 10:53

Thank you. :-) Edward was my mum's dad's name (DD has dad's mum's name as her middle name).

DD is good at entertaining herself, and I make sure I talk to her loads when DS is feeding / needing attention. She loves playing peekaboo from behind the curtains / the side of the sofa, which is good!

How're you getting on, cakes?

lovesmycake · 05/08/2014 13:44

Oooh spooky Edward is my mum's dad's name too :) I'm getting along fine thanks some up's and down's but still pootling along on the TTC rollercoaster.
