Awwww morerum what fantastic news!!!!! Such big congratulations to you and your family. And what a beautiful name and good weight. Well done you. Hope you and baby are recovering well x x x

Swede so sorry things are so tough for you, I cant imagime having to deal with what you are with a toddler, let alone being pregnant too. Hope your last few days go as well as possible and the move goes smoothly. Hopefully once you get back to your family you will feel some relief and get the support with dd that you need.

What did they say re a sweep for you mrs? Was it thursday they were thinking about it? At least you know in the next week baby will be here, hopefully sooner rather than later!

keeponjuggling · 16/06/2014 16:29

Congratulations Morerum, wonderful news and like Mrs said a beautiful name. hope you are all well Smile

keeponjuggling · 16/06/2014 16:34

Mrsm hope you aren't too uncomfortable being over due, fingers crossed baby arrives really soon!

HungryHorace · 16/06/2014 17:20

Congratulations, morerum. :-) Beautiful name and a lovely weight. Xx

Swede, not long to go til you're back with your family. You'll feel stronger then, I'm sure.

Does the Swedish school year work across the same dates as SA schools? Or is SA Jan-Dec and Sweden like the UK? Or even something different?

Mrs, let's hope your DS comes soon. I know how you feel as I was in your position last year.

I've had my MW appt today. Measuring 4 weeks ahead, but midwife not worried as baby feels big and DD was big too. So about right for me!

I'm potentially being referred for physio and earlier section due to my pelvic pain too, which is getting quite bad now.

I'm back in 2 weeks, so we shall see what happens then!

CallingAllEngels · 16/06/2014 17:51

Congratulations rum !!!!!!!!! Lovely news!

Swede I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I cannot imagine having to pack up my life here on my own, while looking after DS, not knowing what the future holds, heavily pregnant, miles from your family. You didn't ask for this, you didn't want this. It's a shitty shitty situation in which there are no winners. Please don't feel that you can't come on here and share your feelings. I imagine you must feel very alone right and having online support like MN is really important when your friends and family aren't there to hold your hand. This thread is about more than just ttc and babies.

mrs I'm sorry but I do think your post was uncalled for and unkind. Of course giving birth can be a scary and painf I l experience and I know you're worried about going through it again after your bad experience with your ds. And you acknowledge that swede's going through a difficult time as well, but you and I and most others on this thread have our DPs to support us through the coming months, and swede is facing this on her own. I hope I haven't upset you, but I feel like it needed to be said. We have all been chatting for a long time and I do consider you all as friends and part of my journey in ttc dc2, and I'd like to feel that we can all share what's going on in our lives, not just the ttc/baby stuff. Hope y8ur baby makes an appearance soon.

ginger glad you had a good time in Amsterdam. I didn't fly - drove to Calais and got the ferry. Trip really took it out of me, especially travelling alone with DS (though he slept most of the car journey). My dm and dsis were fab with ds and meant I could have a nap or a bath without worrying. Told my GPs and a few friends face to face whihc was lovely as I feel we miss ojt on that a bit living abroad - you end up having to tell so many people via email or phone.

Must remember the nc always ! I swear baby brain is kicking in early and I'll be asking who everyone is in a few weeks!

hungry how many weeks are you now? (I need a spreadsheet or something to keep track!)

mrsm22 · 16/06/2014 18:03

Hi Better - How are you feeling? I'm booked for the sweep on weds at 4.20pm, but I was hoping I might not make it to that appointment. You just never know when things might happen so there's still time for baby to come before weds but if not I will be having the sweep. Did you have one last time? I did with my DS and it didn't work but you never know.
Hi Hungry - so another big baby! I always think that's a good thing, a nice healthy good size baby. DS was 8 pounds 3 ounces. Will they bring your section date sooner do you think?
Such wonderful news about Rum and Violet.
Calling - you haven't upset me at all and I feel the same as you about us all sharing this journey together. I don't want to go on, I should have kept my thoughts to myself. Yes Swede has no DP for support which is terribly sad but she came on with a very self centred post and could have thought to say something to Morerum. Just because things are hard for you doesn't excuse forgetting others and at the end of the day I started this thread for ladies TTC. Sorry I'd I've offended but don't think we need to go over that again.

HungryHorace · 16/06/2014 18:06

Engels, PM me your real name / email address and I'll sort you joining the group. :-)

How far is it to Calais for you? Sounds like one hell of a drive. Are you back home now?

I'm 32+4 today, Engels. Our August group has numerous spreadsheets on our Facebook group. It's great! :-)

CallingAllEngels · 16/06/2014 18:30

We'll just have to agree to disagree mrs because I don't think swede was self-centred at all. It's no different to anyone of us having a rant or a moan about our DPs or families or colleagues. Not always time for personals or reading back through the thread. Sometimes you just need to get it out.

Just over 200 miles hungry so takes about 4 hours with normal traffic. Loads of lorries on the road today but fewer idiots going 150kmph in massive 4x4s (guess they must all have jobs!). Got back around 2 so had time to unpack and do dinner before dh got home. Normally DH drives and I doze, then I'm on duty with DS on the ferry. Course this time I had to do both! But DS is getting better at listening and not running away like he did at the supermarket checkout the other day

Have a few more trips back planned this year and have decided I won't be braving it alone with DS again! Will be too much when heavily pg so DH will come as well for one and will arrange a babysitter for the one I have to go on my own for (hen do...which I'm organising...at 25 weeks!).

Feel properly physically pg for the first time this week. My belly is growing. Still incognito at work though as don't want my students to know yet.

Will pm you hungry !

mrsm22 · 16/06/2014 19:35

Calling - Agreed, we will have to agree to disagree.

AlwaysandForever09 · 16/06/2014 20:34

Congrats to rum! Love her name :)
Hope you don't have to wait too much longer mrs keep us updated if things happen before wed :) and yep nearly been married a year! Gone so quick! We're off to London for the weekend booked us a really nice hotel, and we will do some shopping and have dinner out etc :) looking forward to it. Also as we get breakfast in bed too as part of the package deal!
Hope your okay swede not a nice situation to be in, but not long till you can be with your family and have their support :)

Good to see some more of you on the Facebook group!

mrsm22 · 16/06/2014 20:43

Hi Always - That sounds lovely for your wedding anniversary, I bet you can't wait. Does your DH know or is it a suprise? I'd love to book something like that for our wedding anniversary next month but for us it'll have to be another year. Let us know what you get up to. Are you leaving your DS with family?
Does anyone know if a sweep is completely safe or is that a really daft question? Last week when I saw the midwife I agreed to have one this weds but am a little nervous about having it now.

SwedeAway · 17/06/2014 05:42

Self centered??? I am reading the forum on my phone and can't read back so had no idea that More was in hospital. Sorry if you think my posts are self centered, obviously not intention to come across that way. Be that as it may, I think I will stay off this thread for a bit as I really don't wish to get judged. I may be caught up in my own stuff at the moment for obvious reasons and this thread has been sort of a place for me to come and share as I have few people here in RL to do that with. If this is taken as being self centered then i can only apologies. Signing off.

HungryHorace · 17/06/2014 09:10

I don't think that anybody should feel they have to stay away from this thread. It's open to everyone. We aren't a clique.

I really must learn to go to bed earlier. I'm knackered today. But we got watching a documentary about the 1955 Le Mans race which had an awful accident. We'd not known about it before and couldn't stop watching. Totally self-inflicted!

mrsm22 · 17/06/2014 09:32

Morning everyone, can I just apologise for my big mouth. I obviously got it wrong but should have kept whatever opinion I had to myself and instead of making it public on here. I feel bad that I have offended people and that was never the intention, I was trying to point out that Morerum should have been the main thought of everyone on here over the weekend and this week while we were all waiting to hear her lovely news. I can only say sorry, sometimes I open my mouth without thinking. As Hungry says, no one should feel they can't come on the thread. I hope everyone is well.

mrsm22 · 17/06/2014 19:36

How is everyone this evening? Still nothing happening at this end unfortunately. I have a midwife appointment and sweep booked at 4.30pm tomorrow. It would be wonderful if that works. I hope everyone is ok x

HungryHorace · 17/06/2014 20:02

I'm knackered and my pelvic pain is grim, but otherwise OK.

Fx you go into labour tonight. Have you had a show or anything?

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 17/06/2014 20:06

Hi everyone,
Rum amazing congratulations to you again!!!! So pleased for you. Our first baby and two little girls for you, how fantastic. Does she have a middle name? Be good to hear the details when you feel up to it/have 3 minutes to spare!!!! So chuffed for you Grin How does it feel having a baby in summer? Is it nicer? Or hard with the heat?
Is everyone else having this glorious sunshine? It has been so hot here today, the sun was a scorcher, same temperatures as Amsterdam which I suppose you don't expect from the UK!!
DD has been being very trying recently. I guess it's just her age, but it's exhausting! I'm actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow Confused Anyone else dealing with unruly toddlers? I have to bribe reason with her for everything. Even putting on trousers. We have just given up nap time too which doesn't help matters, did not feel ready for it, but she wasn't going to bed at night time so we thought we would see if giving up naps makes a difference. And it does unfortunately! So that is the end of naptime for us. Need to just get her round to the idea of quiet time instead now....
Mrs good luck to you that your sweep works tomorrow. As far as I know they are completely safe, I had 3 or 4 with DD! I think it's just to encourage the muscles to start contracting and get going...I'm sure google would be able to explain better than me!

keepon good to hear from you again, how are things with you?

Always your weekend sounds idyllic. Will DS be going with you too?

Calling glad you had a good trip. Very brave of you to tackle it alone with DS! Hen Do sounds like it will be fun though. Weekend of freedom for you before you are dealing with 2 children!!

Swede what a terrible situation for you to be going through, I can only say I am thinking of you and hoping you are ok. Just focus on the practicalities, packing and getting there, and you will feel so much better when you are surrounded by your family and friends, and more cupcakes! Smile

Hungry hope you are planning an early night tonight for yourself! Do you think they will move your cs date if you are measuring 4 weeks ahead?

AlwaysandForever09 · 17/06/2014 20:28

ginger just me and DH going :) so looking forward to it, I know it's only London but it's a night away In a hotel! :)
DS is very demanding at the moment and can be a nightmare getting ready to go out too! He threw a massive strop whilst waiting for the bus the other day. How olds your DD again?

hungry hope you get a good nights sleep and your not in too much pain tomorrow! My backs killing me at the moment :( have my midwife apt tomorrow so will see what she says!

Good luck for tomoz mrs will your DH be going with you? And yep they will be safe, as it's past your due date, and so many woman have them, I had two but didn't really do much anyway!

mrsm22 · 17/06/2014 21:43

Hi Hungry - I've had nothing at all, no show or anything. I don't think it'll be tonight sadly..I'm sorry you have pelvic pain, I have a lot of pelvic discomfort and it's really painful getting laid on my side on a night to go to sleep. I can't do it without a folded pillow between my knees and even then it still hurts.
Hi Ginger - Thank you, I will post tomorrow after the sweep. How old is your DD again? I'm sure she's just a bit older than my DS. I know what you mean by trying, my DS is a very good boy and I adore him but the tantrums have started if he doesn't want to do something. Tonight he didn't want the pj's I'd selected him for bed and was hysterical about it. It's interesting that you've stopped the day time nap. What time does your DD go to bed now? My FS seems to still really need that day time nap but today for example he slept for nearly 3 hours so tonight he's only just falling asleep. I can't decide when to drop the nap as he gets really tired if he doesn't have one but like you say, getting him to bed on a night is getting harder and later each night. I've always brought him up to bed at 7.30pm but it's taking til 9pm most nights to get him off to sleep.
Hi Always - your weekend in London sounds lovely and romantic, I hope you have an amazing time. DH will take me to the doctors tomorrow but he'll be staying with DS so I'll be on my own for the sweep. I have heard they don't usually work so not too hopeful but you never know. Isn't it true the midwife can also look at your cervix and see if it's getting ready?

bigbadsister · 18/06/2014 09:09

Goodmorning mrsm22
Stumbled across this interesting thread last night while searching for company reviews as a need to look into further marketing. A little surprised by what information has been discussed with people.

Anyway good luck with your sweep today. I have had 2 in the past.

X

morerum · 18/06/2014 10:29

good luck today mrs hopefully the sweep will kick start ur labour! xx

mrsm22 · 18/06/2014 21:30

Hi, how is everyone? I had the sweep today at about 5.15pm, it was ok actually and not too uncomfortable. Had a tiny bit of spotting afterwards but nothing much. The midwife said I am 2cm so I'm hoping something happens soon.
Thanks Rum - I hope you and baby Violet are doing well.

InThisTogether · 18/06/2014 21:34

Ooh hello ladies! I am in!

This is my first month and we are trying the 'let's just shag and hope method' for a while so it doesn't become too laborious and ovulate-y too quickly. Very pleased with OH though, when offered options of, ahem, finishing elsewhere he cried 'what, and waste it???' so he is certainly in the right frame of mind!

Good luck one and all, can't wait to see how everyone gets on!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 19/06/2014 17:50

Any news today mrs? If your baby is born today it will share a birthday with me!

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 19/06/2014 19:20

Happy Birthday Ginger! Sorry I never realised it was today, are you doing anything special? Still no news I'm afraid. Apparently if the sweep works it will be within 48 hours so I'm still hoping.
