May it bring many, many more BFPs and some happy, healthy babies Smile

Chewing on cucumber helps as it's cold. Basically chewing really, Better! It's ibuprofen which keeps her asleep at night, I think. She's not napped today really. Apart from on her way to hospital. Hopefully she'll nap on the way back too.

I have my date, but I'm not putting it in here in case I've been outed. It's on Facebook though.

It's when you'd expect, however!

Is your baby really active, Better? This one is a loon!

morerum · 11/06/2014 15:13

hey everyone!
better hope ur ok after ur bleed Smile xx
hungry saw ur date on fb, how exciting!Grin
well ive got my induction date ive to get started on Sunday so exactly 41 weeksShock
I was at hospital today as I thought my water's had gone but ive obviously just wee'd myself Blush got another sweep but im still only 2cm so no change from Friday x
ginger have a great time in Amsterdam! Xxx

HungryHorace · 11/06/2014 17:36

Fx the sweep works, morerum. :-)

And yes, it is exciting. Scary too, in a way. gulp

Next month we will have 2 children!!

mrsm22 · 11/06/2014 20:03

Hi everyone, how are you all?
Well I saw the midwife today at 39 plus 5. Everything is fine, she did the usual checks and has booked me in for a sweep next weds at 4.20pm when I will be 40 plus 5. She has also had to make me an appointment to be induced just in case, and that's when/ if I get to 12 days overdue. She wanted to book my induction for day 10 overdue but I pushed for later as I really want a good chance of going into labour myself and at home. So my induction date is 25th June but I feel a bit gutted really as being induced wouldn't be great and I'd be stuck to a bed again in a delivery suite. I would also have to be in hospital monitored and what about my DS? I shouldn't be worrying about it just yet, I've got 2 weeks to go so will have to just see what happens. I'm hoping I don't even get to next weds for the sweep as it would be lovely to go into labour before. Judging by Rum, I probably won't though.
Hungry - text me your date please x
Morerum - how are you feeling about it all?
Better - I has weetabix with strawberries this morning.
Tonight I had a dish of fresh pineapple after tea. Apparently pineapple helps you go into labour so I'm going to get one every day and keep on with the raspberry leaf tea.

HungryHorace · 11/06/2014 21:00

Mrs, you need to eat about 9 whole pineapples to start labour! You'll get the shits before then. That make work too though. :-)

I'll text you my date.

At least you have dates set now for if you don't go naturally. I'm sure you will though.

mrsm22 · 11/06/2014 21:10

Is it really that many pineapples? I thought one whole pineapple a day might work??

HungryHorace · 11/06/2014 22:51

It's really that many pineapples! I wouldn't even try it. :-/

Kellymac24 · 11/06/2014 22:56

Hi in new to this so bear with me lol basically been ttc for 18 now well in 5 days late, went to my doctors today as been having a lot of pain in stomach area he asked the usual when was your last period etc n basically said he thinks in pregnant well this evening getting cramps n a little bleeding could i be pregnant need some advice thanks xx

mrsm22 · 12/06/2014 15:39

Hungry - I had a dish of fresh pineapple last night after dinner and another bowl after lunch today. I have read up on it today though and it's between 7 and 9 pineapples a day you'd need, you were right so looks like it won't do much. Boo!

morerum · 12/06/2014 18:31

kellymac if your 5 days late id use a hpt as it should show something also did the doctor take bloods? best of luck to u x
mrs it's d day tomorrow! how are you feelingHmm Im still waiting patiently but haven't had a single twinge so looks like ill be going in on Sunday, quite nervous as ive heard induced labours aee more painful and im a complete woose!

Kellymac24 · 12/06/2014 18:40

Ive got my bloods being taken on Tuesday bleeding has become a bit more now so thinking in not doctor just confused me a Lil bit lol thanks for replying tho x

mrsm22 · 12/06/2014 20:16

Hi Morerum - Yes tomorrow is the day! I don't think anything's happening though. It would be lovely if babies did come on their actual due dates but mine isn't showing any signs. I really thought you'd have your baby last weekend. There's still the possibility of you going into labour before Sunday though, you just never know! I'm feeling the same about being induced, it's not what I'm hoping for but they're letting me go 12 days over and I'm booked in for that on day 12. If you are induced on Sunday, that's 7 days overdue for you isn't it? Could you not have asked them for a bit later to give yourself a better chance of going into labour yourself?
I feel ok, very tired as I'm not sleeping well and just very uncomfortable now so will be pleased when baby is here. I wish he'd hurry up. How are you feeling?

mrsm22 · 12/06/2014 20:19

Oh Rum - my sister was induced with all 4 of her children and she says it's not bad at all. She had an epidural with each although I had one with my DS and it didn't work properly and I didn't like it at all. My sister swears by them though.

mrsm22 · 12/06/2014 20:39

Hi again everyone - can I bring up something random and ask what you are all planning to do about contraception after we've all had our babies? I'm just curious as I haven't a clue what I will do and am aware that after having a baby you are very fertile. I have only ever been on the pill and I went back on it after having my DS but I didn't like being on it after having a baby and as I'm 32 I don't fancy putting anything with hormones in my body. I'm just not sure any of the contraception options appeal to me so I'm a bit stuck at the moment for what I will do. I'm trying to remember how it all works. Am I right that you wait until you've stopped bleeding after having your baby and then have your postnatal check (so usually 6 to 8 weeks after birth ) and then you can sort out contraception? I'm just interested in what everyone else is planning to do, if any of you have thought about it that is. DH said he will consider having the snip if we are happy with two children but I think that's a difficult one.

morerum · 12/06/2014 22:06

mrs as soon as baby's born and has all 10 fingers and toes counted dh is going for the snip!
As for induction date im not getting left any longer as my pelvis is so bad. im happy with the date just abit scared as I know what's happening this time round but al least ill be in hospital form the start and not be pacing the floor with my contraction timer app waiting till there close enough together to go to hospital.
I think you are very brave to want a home birth and I hope you get it im epidural all the way I couldn't imagine doing it without!
kellymac sorry if it's af got you I was 23 months trying for dd so dont give up hope xx

mrsm22 · 13/06/2014 07:01

Good morning everyone, how are we all doing? Well the day has arrived, today is my due date!! Sadly no signs of my baby boy yet, but how many babies arrive on their due date?
Hi Rum - is your DH definitely going for the snip and if so, when will he have it? We are thinking about it too as we have both said that two children is just right for us. I suppose there's just a tiny part of me that thinks..what if you decided later on that you would like just one more, but I doubt I would as I think two is a nice number. For some reason I thought you'd said a while ago that you'd like more than two but I might have got you confused with someone else. Was it Hungry maybe or Kt?
Morerum - yes it is brave wanting a home birth but honestly if you'd had my experience in the hospital you'd be opting for the same. They made so many mistakes, big one's when I was having my DS that it was probably due to the poor care I received that I ended up with such a long labour and forceps. I won't go into it but the care was appalling and I didn't like it at all in the hospital. But I might not get my home birth as all depends if my baby arrives by day 12 overdue. Most people I know have gone very overdue and as I was 12 days over with my DS I am sort of expecting to go the same and have it in my head that I'll probably end up being induced which I really really don't want but obviously I won't have much choice if baby isn't coming. Do you can plan a home birth but just never know if you'll get it. I like the idea of being in my own home, more comfortable , being able to walk about as I want, have my own bath and bed etc and food. Like you, everyone I know who has had an epidural has said it's like 'gold dust' but mine was awful, it only worked down one side. I also really didn't like the feeling of being numb and it took ages for me to get the feeling back in my legs, I didn't like having a catheter, I hated the hormone drip etc etc. The list of things I hated at the hospital go on and on. But who knows what will happen... If I manage to go into labour and get my home birth I can go into hospital at any time. Just because I've booked a home birth, if anything happens or isn't happening and I feel the need to go I can do. Oh I've just thought, Rum are you booked to be induced on Father's Day?
Is anyone doing anything for Father's Day? I got organised a few weeks ago with the presents for my dad and for DH from DS, just in case. I got my dad a CD from Amazon that I know he wanted and some liquorice all sorts and for DH I got him a really nice shirt and some strawberry bonbons. I made DH one of those Moonpig cards from DS and put on it from my DS and bump but have not sealed it yet in case I need to add baby's name to the card. I'm not sure we will be doing much though except a walk somewhere. We are not going too far just in case.

Kt1991 · 13/06/2014 16:23

Happy due date mrs! I wish babies would come on their due date too!! Would be a hell a lot easier! Hope things will start for you soon so you can have your home birth :)

more how's it going? Hope not too long left for you now!

hungry hope your enjoying your time off?

We've had some good news today, we've been offered the chance to view a house exactly where we want to live! I'm so happy can't contain my excitement! Only we get to view it too! Off to see it on wed :) and if we like it then it's ours!

How you doing better? Wow just read that your already dilated?! Took me ages to be at least 2cm lol so do they recon you will give birth early?

I deffo want more children mrs! I think we will have 3 in total. Be lovely if the next one would be a girl then that would be plenty for us :) would be another longer age gap between this one and another one though as DH said no more till after he's 30 and he turned 26 last month!

mrsm22 · 13/06/2014 20:56

Hi Kt - thank you! Baby felt like he was pushing his head down hard earlier on today and was quite painful. I was hoping he was trying to make his arrival but nothing else has happened. Fantastic news re the house viewing, that's wonderful news! You must be really excited.

Kellymac24 · 13/06/2014 21:07

Thanks morerum i have now stopped bleeding so don't know what is going on quite a confusing time lol x

HungryHorace · 14/06/2014 07:10

Morning all!

Any baby news yet? I'm hoping there will be. If not, fingers crossed that morerum's induction goes well tomorrow and we have our first baby by tomorrow evening. :-)

I only went 3 days over with DD and that was bad enough.

And mrs, I definitely didn't say I wanted more after this one! Two is plenty for me, and I need to get my body back to pre-baby weight / size as soon as I can. Then I'll be too old! :-)

I'm loving my time off, Kt. Though DD's top teeth are finally coming so we are all a bit sleep deprived! And she's so grumpy, bless her. The left has broken all the way through now, but the right one is taking its time. Sigh. And poor DD too. :-(

I'm going to pack my hospital bag over the weekend. It's weird this time as I don't need all the drinks / snacks for labour.

I've been washing all of the little clothes this week. I got a bit weepy when I found DD's first outfit. Then again when I showed DH! Oops.

How is everyone today? How was Amsterdam, Ginger? And are you now in the UK, Engels?

Swede, are you all ready for next week? Did you have your anomaly scan yesterday or the day before? Was everything ok?

I suppose I should get up as I'm hungry and need a wee. Boo!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 14/06/2014 11:38

Hi everyone! I am back, got back very late last night, so tired today, feel absolutely drained! I had such a brilliant time, seems like it has gone by in a flash though. It's such a quick flight, only 45 minutes! It was nice to just be me again for a bit and have a good laugh with my friends. Ate so much delicious food, drank beer in the sunshine and watched the world go by Grin Ready to go back again now already!
Sorry to see there are still no babies yet Angry
rum is tomorrow your induction day then? what time will you go in? I really hope for you that you go into labour over night though, what a lovely fathers day pressie!
Hungry I hope you manage to catch up on your sleep before DC2 comes along! Poor DD, teething should stop for her pretty soon though as she's soon to turn 1. I hope so anyway for all your sakes!! Also saw your date on fb, what a nice birthday Smile and not very long to go now, eek!
mrs that did make me laugh reading about all the pineapple talk!! I remember eating it too though with DD, didn't realise you'd need to eat that much!! Hopefully you too will have your baby in the next week, should we start guessing birth weights and sex, for rum anyway!?
I was also another one that wanted more than 2 babies, ideally 4, but DH and I have compromised at 3.
Kt how exciting about the house! Hopefully you like it and then can you be all moved and settled in for when baby comes along. 3 children sounds like a good amount doesn't it Smile DH might change his mind before then, 4 years does seem a long time to wait, you could be all done and dusted with nappies and sleeplessness by the time you are 30!
Better I just went with my two best friends, left DH in charge of DD for 3 days, sounds like they had a great time, he built her a puppetshow!!
How are you feeling?

How are you Swede and Engels? Did you fly to the UK last night? We might have been on the same plane!

Loves are you still reading on here? How are you doing?

Right I should probably go and have a shower and unpack and stop being lazy!!

BetterNotBitter · 14/06/2014 20:48

Just a quick one, will post properly tomorrow. Just to say morerum I hope youve had your baby and theres no need for induction tomorrow, but if it is needed I hope it goes as smoothly and as well as possible, thinking of you x

mrsm22 · 14/06/2014 21:45

Hi everyone, feeling very tired this evening so just a quick one from me to say hi and I hope you're all ok. 40 plus one today and still nothing happening here unfortunately.
Hungry - I think 2 will probably be plenty for me too!
Ginger - I'm so glad you enjoyed Amsterdam. Look at you having all the fun while some of us are feeling big, hot and very uncomfortable. I remember it was you now who wanted more than two children.
Hi Kt - hope you are ok and looking forward to your house viewing next week. How soon do you think you'd move in?
Hi Better - hope you are well too
Morerum - Good luck for tomorrow if you are being induced! The same as everyone else, I am thinking of you and wishing you well. I hope your baby arrives soon and is beautiful, healthy and well. xx

HungryHorace · 14/06/2014 23:21

Good luck tomorrow, morerum. I can't wait to see photos of your new baby on Facebook. :-) xx
