Anybody TTC after very recently stopping pill & no idea what to expect, please join in!!!

Hi everyone,

I stopped pill around 25th Jan (after being on it for about 10 years) & I now have no idea what to expect! I realise you can revert back to regular cycles very quickly, or it can take months. But other than that, I have no idea what to expect really!! I had withdrawal bleed for 4 days after stopping pill then nothing since, so I guess I'm just (impatiently!) waiting for some signs/symptoms of ovulation whilst just DTD freely :) would love to chat to anyone else in the same boat!

Beansprout i did the same, its just cos you're not used to hormones cos you've been on pill for so long, every wee twinge your hyper sensitive to! i was convinced something was going on with cramps and sore boobs etc but looking back now i think it was my body getting prepared for and ovulating
i wouldn't test until you've been 28 days after with withdrawal bleed. theres not point wasting £'s, thats what i planned on doing then AF appeared.

Good idea jendo I shall try and wait..try! Haha. I cant believe how much ive gone from never being bothered about having children to someone who now cannot wait . It feels like I changed overnight into a different persob it feels so strange

beansprout I am exactly the same... I was never bothered about children never felt broody etc until now! its all i think about and i only stopped bcp end of Jan.
I know its easier said than done but don't test till your AF is due/missed. The reason i'm saying this is because a friend of mine (currently 4 months pregnant) got pregnant on her 1st month trying! She took the pregnacare conception tablets and tried everyday from 5 days before OD to 2 days post OD. She knew she was pregnant but kept testing on expensive kits too early and getting BFNs. she was really upset but tested using a cheaper test day after af due and got BFP! she said she was stressed unnecessarily cos she kept testing.
I'm trying every 2-3 days from tomorrow (af should be done) then everyday from wed 5th March - wed 12th then back to every 2-3 days.

Thanks jendo.i think it's higly unlikely I am pregnant but you start convincing yourself dont you! I will hold out on the testing x

U never know bean! When u look at the odds its a miracle any1 is here haha! I really think when its meant to be it will happen.

How's is everyone getting on? It's 3 weeks since I came off the pill now. Keep wondering if AF is going to make an appearance any day now. Trying to ignore all the symptoms now that make me think I'm pregnant. Don't think I'm going to be so lucky to get a bfp straight away.

Im 8 days since coming off the pill now so hoping to ov soon! I'm really nervous and hope my cycle is regular as can't remember what it was like before the pill. I reckon il be like you pussycat1one and be symptom spotting in a couple of weeks time! :-) keeping my fingers crossed it will happen quickly as my sister in law is pregnant and keeps saying how nice it would be if we had children close together (she doesn't know we are trying though so I keep having to come up with random vague comments)

Just out of curiosity, are we all ttc #1, our does anybody have any dc already?

Hi jendo and beansprout I am in exactly the same situation - no maternal instinct whatsoever to symptom spotting in about 2 days flat!

circusflea I'm ttc my first but I think that there was someone at the beginning who mentionned already having a child.

Well af arrived today, pretty pleased as that makes my cycle about 35 days which I think is not bad after being on the pill for 10 years! Down side my dh will be working away for 2 weeks this month when I think I'll be ov-ing! Fail! Was hoping for a December baby!! I'm also ttc number 1.

I'm ttc #1 too, just quietly counting down the days till ov :)

I'm TTC #1 too! Think I will ov end of this week/weekend if my cycle is 28 days however no idea if it will be! :-)

I'm TTC#2 but managed to conceive DS after about a minute off the pill, and didn't realise till week 8, after a negative test at week 4. So just as clueless as everyone else, as that was clearly a complete fluke! Am also now getting on a bit (37) &. DH has just had a milestone birthday, so not expecting my bfp to arrive anytime soon...but am also symptom spotting like the best of 'em!

cleverCircusFlea This will be my 2nd ttc but my partners 1st. My ds is now 17 years old so it's going to be a huge age gap!

Hi all....I'm a newbie and this looks like the thread for me! I came off Cerazette in Dec 13 not with intention of TTC but because of the mood swings and generally feeling rubbish more often than not. I was starting to track my cycle in order to use it to avoid pregnancy rather than the opposite! Hubby approached me a couple of weeks ago with the suggestion that we TTC - he is 43 and I am 41!! We both have kids from previous relationships and decided we wouldn't have any more. Anyhoo, long story short we've decided to give it a go!! Eek....scary! I had my DS when I was 33 and Hubby had his DS when he was 23! I took my last pill around Christmas time and had what I think was a withdrawal bleed on 30th Dec.....next one was 22nd Jan (23 day cycle)....then nothing until 1st March (40 day cycle!)....this AF felt more like a "real" AF as I had all the cramps and much heavier bleeding. Hopefully it is all getting back to normal from now. I mentioned the OKPs to hubby last night and he laughed and said we just need to DTD as much as possible and hope for the best ......fingers crossed for us! It's a long shot due to our age but we'll give it a go x

melmc73 good to hear from you, your story made me smile, my dad's parents were 47 and 48 when he was born so it can happen and naturally!
I'm 30 and my husband is just coming up for 29 and we are now very keen to have our 1st, really hope it happens for everyone ttc soon

Hi melmc73, I'm a newbie too! I stopped taking the mini pill at the end of October, after 10+ years on first Cilest then Cerazette, and had a sort of period about ten days later. Since then, I've had a regular but really light period, with attendant sore boobs and PMS, about 26-27 days. We've been ttc but haven't been trying very hard til this month, when we started using the clearblue fertility monitor, and I got my first high fertility day today (day 11). I'm not convinced I'm really ovulating because my periods are so light and I haven't noticed any ewcm, but I mentioned it to my doctor and he said if my cycle is regular, that's probably a good sign. I'm really praying fur a peak fertility day in the next couple of days!

Hey carminerose! I had Uber sore boobs for about 4 weeks after coming off mini pill! Thought I would go mad. Wouldnt let dh near me as was in agony lol. He wasn't amused. Thankfully it's settled down now!! Been on fertility friend and think I might be ovulating middle of next week...on dh's days off

So it's day 26 for me since I got af from coming off the pill. It's been a long month for me. Getting anxious to whether I'll be lucky enough to get a bfp or weather my af will arrive at all. I last took a break from bc about 8 years ago but this time I have hypothyroidism. So I'm a bit worried. Fx for either.
