Hi everyone,

I stopped pill around 25th Jan (after being on it for about 10 years) & I now have no idea what to expect! I realise you can revert back to regular cycles very quickly, or it can take months. But other than that, I have no idea what to expect really!! I had withdrawal bleed for 4 days after stopping pill then nothing since, so I guess I'm just (impatiently!) waiting for some signs/symptoms of ovulation whilst just DTD freely :) would love to chat to anyone else in the same boat!

Happy birthday for tomorrow Pussycat!

Happy birthday for tomorrow pussycat! How's everyone doing today? I've been getting sore breasts today which I normally get before af, am on cd18 though... any ideas what this may indicate?!

Hard to say, dietcoke, I think our bodies are still quite confused from the years of pill taking, so could be anything! Also, don't know about you, but I've been very tuned in to what is happening with my body since stopping the pill, so I notice things I normally wouldn't, like even the lightest cramp etc.
CD33 here, had some brown spotting today, so maybe af is on her way? I'm actually quite looking forward to it in a weird way, it's nice to know that things are working like they should :)

bellaboo88 · 15/02/2014 07:14

Diet coke, sore boobs normally (I've heard) indicate change in hormones meaning you've ovulated, no strict rule to guarantee it, one hormone drops, another raises = boob pain.

Good idea to write it down....this helped me work out my of date last month as I CoulD compare it to previous month.

Re. Fertility in families....from here I've learnt its luck of the draw...ladies have good fertility only to be trying for years for the next x

Snowflake27 · 15/02/2014 13:47

Oh dear, cramps and sore boobs...feel like I might not be lucky this month! Guess I'll know in a few days!
Shame there's no link with fertility in families bella, my mam and grandma used to get up duffed at the drop of a hat! I was hoping it would be so easy for me!

sherbertlemon17 · 15/02/2014 17:08

Hey ladies, can I join the club? I stopped taking Cileste at the end of December and had my break through bleed from 1-6th of jan... Since then, Still no period!! Hmm This makes today cd46!!! What the f!!

I did have some pinkish/brownish cm on Wednesday afternoon and had never been so happy to think AF was on the way; but no. Now I'm wondering if it might have been implantation but no idea when or if I ovulated! Why is this so complicated?!

CleverCircusFlea · 15/02/2014 22:09

Hello, sherbet, welcome to the club! :) how exciting would that be if it was implantation bleed! You'd be our first bfp Grin
I suppose it's as complicated as you make it, I always thought I'd be quite chilled out about it, but have already managed to poas twice, and for no good reason either, my chances of being pregnant this month were slim to none, but I decided to "test the tests" I've bought on eBay, you know, just in case Hmm
Good luck, hope your cycle sorts itself out soon :)

sherbertlemon17 · 16/02/2014 08:44

Tis true circus flea. It's so easy to get carried away thinking the littlest things mean your going to get a bfp, hence creating the hugest confusion!

I'm trying to convince myself that the cm means nothing so I don't get my hopes up; but at the same time will POAS Monday to check.

Anyone else having unbearably long cycles?

CleverCircusFlea · 16/02/2014 16:38

Well... I'm sure you'll all be happy to know that af has officially arrived! That makes my first "real" cycle 34 days long, which is ok I guess? I've never been so pleased with a period Hmm

cocolacocotte · 17/02/2014 11:15

Hi everyone,

hope you all had a good weekend.

I had some EWCM on Friday and a quick check on the fertility planner showed me that if I was on a normal 28-day cycle, Friday would have been ovulation day so there was much shagging in our house this weekend. I don't honestly expect anything to happen on the first month after stopping the pill but you never know (and, hey, who's going to complain about lots of shagging?)

Beansprout30 · 17/02/2014 13:24

First day of not taking pill today feels real now eek. Exciting times! We have 3 months to get down to business before DH is away and it all goes on hold :(

pips84 · 17/02/2014 21:05

So AF arrived on Friday (happy valentine's day to me!) but was pleased to see her in a way because at least I know where I am now. Also Friday was exactly 29 days since the last day I took the pill - is that good?!

So now just waiting for AF to finish so we can start giving things a proper go. Excited about trying but also trying not to build myself up too much as I know chances if it happening straight away are slim. Didn't realise how much I wanted this. Fingers crossed for us all!

HenriettaTurkey · 17/02/2014 21:11

Ooh can I join? Took final cerazette on Feb 13 and we are trying for dc2. The first time it happened in month 1 so I really don't know what to expect this time. I am 36 & DH is 40 so think things may take longer this time.

Also have no idea how to figure out cycle!

What is your approach to alcohol at the moment? Are you cutting down?

Beansprout30 · 17/02/2014 22:14

Hello HT I don't drink much anyway just a glass of red on a Saturday night won't be cutting that out completely just yet

For the past 2 days I've had strong symptoms as if I'm AF no show. Anyone has this yet?

So just a quick update to get it off my chest really... Tested Monday; bfn and still no AF. Cd50 today! I will test again Sunday but not holding out much hope. I'd love a bfp but would be just as happy to see AF now!! Hmm

Sylvanas · 19/02/2014 12:34

Hi everyone,

DH is dead against having a baby anywhere near Christmas so doesn't want to start trying until May but I'm taking the last pill on Friday this week to try and sort my cycles out.

I'm pretty anxious about it as before going on the pill (age 18) my periods were completely unpredictable. I once went 6 months without one. Hopefully that was due to other health issues that I had at the time but it doesn't stop me worrying.

I'm desperate to start trying though and looking forward to seeing some BFPs from the rest of you while I'm waiting.

Snowflake27 · 19/02/2014 14:29

Hi sylvanas, hopefully you wi have outgrown the period problems, I'm in the same boat as you as was all over the pale before the pill and even had the same problem on the implant but fingers crossed it's all going well since I came off in January- I'll keep you posted tho! They do say you can grown out of it but if it doesn't settle down after a few months it's probably worth having a chat with the gp about. Also I think I've heard mention on here of taking vitamin B6 to regulate af, someone with more experience than me needs to confirm that for you though!

LGTTC1 · 19/02/2014 15:13

Hi all,
I'd love to join you as well. I'm 29 (30 in sep) and DH will b 34 this yr.
I came off microgynon after 12 yrs on jan 14 got withdrawal bleed on 16th for 6 days. And have had cramps for last two days so af should be here tomorrow making mine a 35 day cycle. I used opks on my docs recommendation and o'd on cd21. My DH works rotation in oil and gas so we missed this cycle by 2 days, really hoping I o earlier this month so we r in with a chance b4 he leaves again. Am taking a heap of prenatal vits so that might help, but not going to temp or chart for a few months. Have been surprised by all my symptoms the pill certainly masks a lot - had o pains on cd 20 21, on sat had migraine (haven't had for years) and lots of headaches cramps this cycle hoping my body is just readjusting and this doesn't happen every month. Now that we really want a bfp (we both didn't want kids for a long time funny how things change) I wish we had started a little earlier. I'm hoping it happens quickly though our big problem will be timing with DH away so much. Also hoping for shorter cycles.
At the moment I'm firmly in the anti poas camp but that might change.
Fx crossed for you all

sherbertlemon17 · 20/02/2014 10:48

Morning everyone! Wondering if I can get your thoughts on something... So on Wednesday the 12th (apologies for tmi) I had some pinky/brown cm and thought it was the start of AF, but still nothing. I've also tested twice, both with bfn... So now I'm thinking that the cm could have been my AF? Lol! Does that sound crazy or could it be possible? The reason I ask is because the past 2 days I've had ewcm which would work out about right in terms of dates... If I'm right that would make me cd9 rather thanks cd51.

I spose the answer doesn't really matter if I am ovulating but it would make me feel much better! Haha!

cocolacocotte · 21/02/2014 10:37

Hi sherbertlemon, I don't have anything really useful to say but I didn't want to leave your post unanswered.

I suppose that the discharge you had could have been a very short and light AF. Then again, it could have been an implantation bleed. I think I'd be doing another test in a couple of days if it were me.

spectacularly unhelpful

CleverCircusFlea · 21/02/2014 10:48

Hmm... I think for it to be af it needs to be red blood (sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear!), but I'm by no means an expert!

My first post-pill af has been and gone, so thought I'll do a little "compare and contrast" exercise Wink
Cycle length:
Pre-pill - never used to measure religiously, but I think it was 30-32 days
On pill - 28 days
Post-pill - 35 days

Af length:
Pre - 6 days
On - 4 days
Post - 4 days (I hope that sticks, don't want to be going back to six day periods!)

Flow:
Pre - medium
On - light to medium
Post - medium

Af pain:
Pre - unbearable! I used to suffer a lot
On - none
Post - very little, had to take 2 paracetamol once and that was it

All in all - better than I expected :)

sherbertlemon17 · 21/02/2014 10:51

Thanks Coco! and not unhelpful at all! Smile It's nice to hear the perspective of others... I tell DH but he's clueless about this type of thing!

Tbh, after AF didn't turn up I thought it might have been implantation and I have had an achey back the last day or two, but bfn's obviously squashed that! I'll wait til next week and see what happens.

How's everyone else getting on?
