Hi everyone,

I stopped pill around 25th Jan (after being on it for about 10 years) & I now have no idea what to expect! I realise you can revert back to regular cycles very quickly, or it can take months. But other than that, I have no idea what to expect really!! I had withdrawal bleed for 4 days after stopping pill then nothing since, so I guess I'm just (impatiently!) waiting for some signs/symptoms of ovulation whilst just DTD freely :) would love to chat to anyone else in the same boat!

Hi Ganda, I was on the pill for a similar amount of time and came of for at the end if March too. So far I seem to have been lucky going on to a 26 day cycle. However everyone is different and I wouldn't worry that your cycles have been longer as it seems many people have at least one long cycle before getting back to normal. I had achy boobs for first time just before my af started and I'd never had that whilst on the pill. I recommend using ovulation tests, clearblue dual hormone is good but you may want to wait for your first Af and start testing after that. It may be worth doing a preg test too just in case. Good luck! Smile

Hi Ganda... I came off ovranette at Xmas and my first cycle was 98 days long!! I basically gave up trying to work out what was going on inside my body during that time, and just waited for AF to turn up. Once that finally turned up I started counting what day I was on properly, and started monitoring things like CM, bodily changes etc using the Kindara app. I made notes in there which have been invaluable to look back over. TMI coming up but maybe helpful: I've learned that I get super sensitive nipples straight after I've ovulated... I also get some minor cramps on the day of ovulation. Then i get lots of creamy CM in the week after. (I knew I was ovulating because I was using OPKs to detect it.) annoyingly at the time I assumed I was pregnant when I got all those symptoms, but now I'm learning more and have my notes to look back on to spot patterns, I feel way more clued up on what's going on!! Have just started my 3rd cycle this week (AF came on Tues after 2nd cycle being 40 days long) and feel like I'm finally 'there' in knowing what's going on!!

Hope this helps, good luck!! X x

Hello there - me again! Still no X-ray here as this has been delayed by the fact that it's 29 days since last period. So now I have to go to GP and have a pregnancy test!

So I have to go in, do a sample & call back tomorrow. Grr.

Kathyaj · 12/05/2014 13:06

Hi. I've been reading this thread with interest. I came off the pill in February after 13 years with the intention of getting my cycle back in order. AF arrived 30 days after stopping the pill and again after 25 days so I'm expecting her again this week. I feel quite lucky to have got back into a regular routine quickly. We've been delaying actually ttc as I'm marathon training and we have some holidays planned but since we really have no idea how long it will take to get pregnant I'm getting impatient to start especially now my cycle has returned and seems to be settling down. I have a 13 year old who was a happy accident but I don't think I can bank on my mid thirties fertility being the same as my early twenties!

Pussycat1one · 14/05/2014 11:08

Hi everyone!

Well I've been back to my GP in regards to my pelvic muscles hurting a week after af. She didn't seem bothered about it during my 1st visit suggesting that it may have been due to being on the pill so long. Now the pain has got slightly worse shooting to my back, and not being able to sleep on my back for 1 of those nights. Lucky the dull pain leaves after about 3/4 days. I also mentioned that it made bding painful too. I've been referred to the hospital to see a gynecologist. She was asking if I had a family history of endometriosis. Fx it's not that or cysts!

hi ladies hope u are all enjoying TTC Wink

I'm feeling a bit peed off by it all as my DH works away. CD19 today and had ewcm on CD17, DTD on cd18 (four times, does that count? haha) but now DH is away for four days again Angry Angry Angry not easy. hoping it was enough as this is Cycle 4 now - already!?

its annoying being hindered by DH's work schedule let alone it not being easy to conceive unlike all the stories I believed in my teens and early twenties.

sorry for the rant. promise to be more positive next post... Wink

Beansprout30 · 16/05/2014 20:58

Hey thamrin, my dh works away too, he is about to go off for four months, this is our last chance to ttc this week before he leaves. Makes things so much harder doesn't it. Really wish we had started earlier now

Snowflake27 · 20/05/2014 21:28

Anyone else getting a bit disheartened? I am! So stupid but you totally build yourself up and I think after years of being so careful with contraception you just assume you'll get pregnant straight away - only to realise it just doesn't usually work like that!! Ok negative rant over sorry about that!
On the plus this is the first month I've actually noticed ewcm which is a good sign, is it possible this is me only just settling into a proper routine after coming off the pill, even tho I've had 4 periods since coming off?

thamrin · 21/05/2014 05:51

hi beansprout four months away sounds awful. I hope it goes quickly for you but I guess the only upside is that at least you can go back to being yourself rather than a TTC symptom spotting nutcase (if you're anything like me anyway...) also you get a chance to check your cycles and tune in with your body i guess...?

I've broken out in a rash/mass of tiny bumps along my forehead (not spots) which i can't explain... folic acid side effect? since coming off the pill? i donno. CD26 for me today and holding hope it could be PG symptom but i don't think this month was our month. oh well! hoping they clear soon.

Rainbow555 · 21/05/2014 07:37

Hi thamrin could be a symptom, I did read that can get break outs or acne when come off the pill so maybe? I often get break outs of smaller bumps rather than 'proper' spots. Hopefully they will clear up as the hormone sort themselves out!

snowflake it is weird ( and unfair?!) after all the years of being told how easy it is to get pregnant and being so careful to then read on here how hard it can be for some!! We have only just started ttc and I must admit I get this feeling of being bad or naughty when DTD since we have been together 10 years and always had protection and a nervous excitement that we are breaking the rules almost, it's weird!!

thamrin · 26/05/2014 14:04

hi everyone how are you all doing? Any more good news on this thread? we had a few preggo ladies last month! on some thread i read someone was watching youtube pregnancy reveals.. well i wasted about 40mins of my life watching that too!

CD31 for me, AF due tomorrow or wednesday. bfn today (and yesterday!) rather disappointed Angry want AF to hurry up come and go so I can move onto my JUNE bfp... how is it nearly june already...!!??!!

Pussycat1one · 26/05/2014 15:18

I started spotting yesterday so that's me out. Sad

HenriettaTurkey · 28/05/2014 08:34

Err...got my bfp today! It's a bit of a shock as I had a GP ordered bfn 2 weeks ago and that meant I could have an X-ray, which means I had an X-ray at 4 weeks.

So we'll see what the GP says. I'm hoping if the baby was too little to be seen (s)he was too little to be hurt.

Rainbow555 · 28/05/2014 09:00

Sorry af arrived pussycat

Yay congrats to you hen great news Smile
Hopefully all ok re xray!

How's it going thamrin?

thamrin · 29/05/2014 08:57

wow henrietta thats wonderful news! I'm sure baby will be fine at such early days i think your attitude towards - too early to be seen too early to be hurt is a good one.

i'm out again unfortunately rainbow how about u? ...I got AF, right on queue at 32/33 days so regular cycle for the past three AF which is comforting.... but AF is so light tho...more like dark brown spotting. I'm quite happy to have light periods but this is so light its almost concerning that "I'm not normal"...

agh the stress of TTC the emotional roller coaster...

Rainbow555 · 29/05/2014 09:02

Argh sorry af has arrived Sad
I am still waiting..af due Sunday don't really have any symptoms for bfp or af! So we will see!

thamrin · 29/05/2014 09:20

fingers crossed then rainbow !!! very exciting. have you tested yet?

I am a POAS addict and obsession fuelled by having purchased 40 internet cheapie tests the last time i was in the UK.... if i were you i would have done about 4 tests by now Grin Wink Blush hahaha

Rainbow555 · 29/05/2014 10:02

Hahaha I am resisting the urge! Not even bought a test yet and no idea which ones to get, I am in NZ and things are not as cheap as tesco and boots Sad
This is the first cycle testing as af got me last month before I could..hence I am a poas virgin! Hahahah Grin

thamrin · 29/05/2014 10:40

OMG!!! POAS virgin... well you see thats the thing i reckon its like crack... once you've POAS you're addicted. Wink good luck anyway fingers crossed for you and keep us posted! xx

i am in indonesia so my logic was to stock up on internet cheapies (thin i GBP4 for 40!) and if i get bfp confirm with some international expensive brand.... anyway having so many about makes you use them thats for sure. if i didn't have them i don't think id test until late.... they're quite expensive i think.

HenriettaTurkey · 29/05/2014 10:46

Ah thank you all. I'm probably 6+4 which makes edd 18 January! GP called the radiographer who isn't worried, so now hoping sickness holds off. Last time round I had HG and was ill till 20 weeks so hoping to avoid that this time!

All the best for more bfps...and let's hope this one sticks.

Now I just have to tell the physio. She's gonna be mad!!!

April1984 · 04/06/2014 17:12

How's everyone doing? I think I'm a couple of days DPO but due to a family emergency I didn't keep track properly with opks and so not sure. Tried body temping but it's been all over the place, don't think I'm doing a good job of doing it at an exact time each day! So tww now I guess! Good luck to all!

nsgirl · 04/06/2014 18:08

Henrietta, how many days were you into your cycle when you got your bfp?

On day 48 and counting now...
