rp it had stopped raining by the time I'd left so what you say must be true Grin.

Actually it was good bushy, I really liked the lady. She was very positive and reassuring (catagorically stated that 33 was not old!) gave some advice on supplements and also instructed me to follow a gluten free diet. The daft thing is, I have two celiacs family members but had assumed that because I tested negative for celiacs myself I was fine with gluten, but a lot of what she said made sense. Will give it a go and see how I get on....barking what sort of things are you eating?

happylass · 28/03/2014 07:39

Morning all. Barking what about

The Berries: projecting the sausage signal and chasing rainbows whilst chanting FUFC in the hunt for that elusive BFP (thread 19)

Also think we need a new list ready to be copied on to the new thread. I'll start!

Happylass, 36, cycle 17, possible issues with clumpy sperm and crappy eggs. Waiting to find out more at the fucking FC on April 3rd

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2014 08:04

Ooo, love it happy!

Barking, 34, cycle 28 (stopped pill in Dec '11) Clomid bfp then MC sept '13, should have first appointment for stimulated IUI by July. Currently trying acupuncture, chinese herbs, vitB6 & Vit C, and going wheat free in an effort to 'balance my hormones' due to late Ov and 8 day LP.

tiger sounds like another thumbs up for the needles Grin.
I've been eating a lot of eggs, jacket potatoes, fish & veg, chicken & veg, carrots & humous, veg soup (took me an hour to make it!) etc. The dinners aren't too bad, it's replacing my wheetabix for breakfast (and the time it takes to cook eggs rather than pour milk on cereal) and sandwiches for lunch that have been the pain - I've basically just bought a school dinner (jacket potato) or taken in the soup I made on Sunday. However both require leaving the classroom to collect/heat up and waste precious minutes I could be marking or evaluating lessons, whilst sandwiches I eat while I work!!

A colleague was telling me about the massive wheat/gluten free range in Tescos though, including wheat free flour etc, so I might check that out.
Although I wasn't attempting to, I've actually cut out a lot of sugar this week as well. When I have eggs for breakfast I'm skipping the sugar I would have had on my cereal, I'm not eating cakes because of the flour, and because I'm eating lots of veg and generally healthy stuff, it seems wrong to then go and 'spoil' it by eating chocolate etc, and I've just not had the craving apart from the cinema sized bag of fruit gums I got through while marking books on Wednesday night

I've been googling 'wheat free' and 'fertility' and there's actually loads out there explaining why wheat doesn't help, and evidence of women finding their cycles levelled out after quitting wheat. The catching rainbows lady said I should cut down for 2 weeks, go completely without for a week, then could reintroduce it but would hopefully be in the habit of eating less. From what I've read I'd be tempted to continue trying the wheat free diet and just give myself a day off a week (when going out for a meal or something). I decided to go straight for the detox rather than weaning myself off, and it's not as hard as I thought it would be. If I get some wheat free flour so I can still have pancakes I think I'll be ok!

OttersPocket · 28/03/2014 09:58

Hi everyone, I've not been posting but have been lurking recently and keeping up with everyone's news.

Last week I posted the dilemma about taking a new job. Well, quite surprisingly I got offered it and have decided to take it. Take that ttc. I don't start until June so still hoping for an awkward bfp before then.

Barking I've been wheat, and gluten, free for 19 years now! And I'm low carb (for past 6 years) so no sugar for me either. Don't I sound like a barrel of laughs! I'm both Type 1 diabetic and coeliac (woo me!) It's made eff all difference to my fertility but if you want any advice I'm your Berry.

ladybunnikins · 28/03/2014 11:11

Barking it sounds like the pregnant woman is an honorary berry then and hopefully that will make it easier to deal with. Will be interesting to hear her ttc story, emigration down under is a ttc method I haven't tried yet but I wish I could!

Barking, good luck with the gluten free diet, I tried that years ago in an attempt to deal with my long list of allergies. Leaving out gluten didn't help but moving away from home did Smile and desensitisation (not offered in this country, unfortunately). And enjoy your honeymoon! Hope you will be able to cope with your friend's pg.
Lady, I've heard of the wonders of Ozzy sun for conception, too, former colleague of mine fell pregnant almost on arrival after two years of trying.

So, I took the plunge. Called FC this morning to arrange an appointment. Feels quite scary but not as scary as going on thinking I have hit the menopause because my last cycle was freakishly short (20 days). So, fingers crossed they will tell us something useful. Got GP appointment on Apr 8 as well and my gynae on the mainland at end of Apr, too. Needed to fit holidays around that. Last smear came back with abnormal cells so I am really hoping that there is not another issue to deal with. It's been all a bit much lately. You're welcome to tell me I am obsessing too much and neither menopause nor cancer are realistic scenarios to worry about just now. DP seems on board, for the moment, at least. And he seems less stressed, he's been wandering about the house singing. So I take this as a good sign.

Are you feeling better, feather? Hope everyone else is doing well and looking forward to the weekend.

OttersPocket · 28/03/2014 11:51

Oh I forgot to add my stats.

Otters, 32, cycle 25, Clomid bfp Sept '14 MMC Nov'14, starting 9th round Clomid, next FC app May.

Must get back to work, will reply properly later (and start a new thread if happy is still at school when this one gets close to being full!)

Parsley2506 · 28/03/2014 14:43

I will give it a listen later!

Love the new thread title Happy, sounds great! Here's hoping for a mass exodus to the copter with the next thread....

Nowt to report here as usual, other than that MrP and I have decided to say FU to all this nonsense and book ourselves a silly indulgent and totally non pg friendly holiday this summer.

happylass · 28/03/2014 16:42

How has it happened that I am almost the oldest on here! Shock. Was one of the youngest when I first joined. We need to recruit more oldies! Also, just to be clear, the strike though on my part of the list hasn't copied. I did cross out the f***g before FC. Honest!

happylass · 28/03/2014 16:43

Ooo Parsley where are you headed on your indulgent break? More details please!

Updated the list with my stats - doing it from my phone tested my skills! Even re-crossed out the f word for you happy Smile.

Had the day off today and have done lots of little jobs that needed doing and indulged in an afternoon nap. Oh my life is so exciting! Off down south tomorrow for another weekend which will involve cooing over babies. Hmm

parsley I like your approach - go for it! We've booked a few holidays and breaks this year after not going anywhere last year in the foolish expectation I would be with child.

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2014 17:35

happy, as people copy it, the formatting will go, like the bold disappears Angry.

I think we need to put being painted blue and standing in the middle of a field howling at the moon in the thread title as well - listen to pip's link and I might make more sense Wink.

tiger booking holidays is the way forward. After the honeymoon we've got one in July (that I'm hoping isn't going to get in the way of IUI) and another in October half term Grin.

otters I'm assuming you mean '13 in your stats! We've not got to 2015 yet have we? ^

Updated myself to the list hope it's worked as on phone! Will check in properly later!

happylass · 28/03/2014 18:21

Shall I start the new thread now? Probably best as I'm off out on a hen night shortly. God knows what'll happen if I try to start one once I've had a few. Grab the poufée, chaise longue, rug and anything else that's lying around. We're off!

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2014 18:29

I'm stacking up the yellow bricks and sourcing a stripy ladder, I think we need some extra height to get up to that 'copter....
See you on the other side, berries! Grin
