The smallprint –

Just popping in quickly to say congrats sid!! Such a great way to start the thread - a proper big fat FUFC!! Just so, so pleased for you Smile

barkingtreefrog · 11/02/2014 22:53

Sorry happy, missed your post earlier with all the FUFC excitement!
I also think it's ridiculous that they give you results by letter without explaining their significance Angry . Stay away from google as you'll be irrationally drawn to anything possibly negative and demand a doctor speaks to you instead! Grin

I've taken the clomid Smile after taking half an hour to find the last packet which had fallen down the back of the kitchen shelves. I'm still in a lot of pain (currently got a hot wheat bag on my abdomen and ice packs on my knees!) and bleeding heavily now for me so I'm counting this as cd1 (although in that case arguably I should take the clomid tomorrow). If I end up ovulating on cd7 and spotting by cd15 I might make some adjustments.....

FeatherFeather11 · 11/02/2014 23:10

Oh my giddy aunt! sid!!!! Congratulations!!! So, so, so pleased for you and as someone else said, sending piles of positive vibes your way. Gosh, you've given me hope.

tiger hang on in there. Flowers

happy not sure about AMH, but clumpy jizz can be sorted - zinc is The Don.

rp excellent news on your FC referral. Just take it step by step. There's lots of options to explore before IVF. Not to mention the possibility of a massive, huge, monumental FUFC! (As witnessed with Sid today!)

Nothing to report here except temps are on the up since suspected ovulation. If I did ovulate, I'm thrilled as it'll be the first time without clomid in probably all my life.

FeatherFeather11 · 11/02/2014 23:12

Ps. bakrking sounds like a good move on the clomid. I'd def count today as CD1.

PuppyMummy · 12/02/2014 06:46

congratulations sid great news Smile

BecauseIsaidS0 · 12/02/2014 07:18

Sid, that is amazing news! You must be floating Grin

happylass · 12/02/2014 16:41

Thanks for the list of vits Sid. Have just ordered the Zita West supplements for us both. I've been nagging DP to take something for months. Hoping the clumpy sperm will finally convince him!

SidneyBristow · 12/02/2014 17:03

My DH was really resistant to vitamins/supplements but I sold it to him by pointing out it was just for a few weeks. What is it with these dudes thinking they're hard done by in this situation!

IamKuma · 12/02/2014 19:13

Mine was the same too. He wouldn't take the fish oil until the FC told him to!

Bunnygirlie · 12/02/2014 19:35

We weren't advised to take any supplements by FC, DH saw a nutritionist a while back and had so many bottle of pills he was rattling, didn't help his swimmers though Sad

Obviously did the job for you sid Grin

Bit late to the party but congrats sid

happylass · 12/02/2014 21:33

I'm a little Hmm about supplements to be honest but have read so many positives about taking vitamins - especially vitamin C - to reduce clumping that it's worth a try. In the TCOYF book it says that all men with clumpy sperm in a test group who took 1000mg vitamin C each day got their partners diffed, whilst none of those in the group that took no vitamins got a BFP. Worth a shot I think and definitely cheaper than IVF!

SidneyBristow · 12/02/2014 22:17

happy it's definitely worth trying, if for no other reason than to make yourself feel like you've done all you can prior to getting to IVF. I wonder how long the study you mentioned followed the groups? I think we began the full whack of supplements at the start do the year - so 3 weeks prior to conception. I doubt they'd had enough time to make a difference but now I'm leery of stopping!!

Thanks aquarius it has been a truly surreal couple of days!

Gillster · 13/02/2014 14:25

So they got a dozen eggs this morning so pretty happy with that. Fingers crossed for some good fertilising! The resulting embryos (if there are any) will then be frozen straight away as they need to remove a polyp. So it's a bit disappointing not to do a full cycle at this time but when they remove the polyp they'll do an endometrial scratch which improves implantation.

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/02/2014 14:27

Gill that's a great number of eggs. FX for some good fertilisation... Will they phone you tomorrow?

happylass · 13/02/2014 15:51

Great news on the eggs Gil. Frustrating having to wait but if it improves your chances then its definitely worth it! Keeping everything crossed for you.

tigerdog · 13/02/2014 18:24

That'd good news gil - hope the wait isn't too frustrating fingers crossed for a gaggle of embies!

Suddenly hit a moment of gloom, not quite sure why, probably as af is approaching and the tell-tale signs are already showing themselves - in particular am looking annoying spotty Sad. Took advantage of an early finish to pop in to a few shops but buying clothes feels like defeat. I have been putting off purchases thinking it would only be a matter of time till I was pregant. Over a year on, and all this has achieved is never having anything nice to wear! hmph.

What is everyone doing for Valentines? Not a big deal in the tiger house, and driving down South first thing Sat, so some nice food and a cheeky glass of red and we might crack in to the Breaking Bad boxset which we've not yet started (just a bit behind the times!)

BlueBirdy · 13/02/2014 18:28

Super result with your eggs Gill! And after all that Spring cleaning your palace should be extra comfy Smile FX for everything!

BlueBirdy · 13/02/2014 18:35

Aah Tiger hope you feel more positive soon. Breaking Bad is AWESOME!!! so have fun with that Smile For Valentine's we are having the in-laws over Hmm but it is MIL's bday so treating them to a nice meal. Will make up for it next weekend when we head to Cornwall for a hotel break Smile

Gillster · 13/02/2014 18:50

They should call around 10:30 Merk, quite nervous as this is the bit that's totally out of our control. Just hoping that the eggs and swimmers get plenty of Valentine's vibes!

It sounds like you need some shopping therapy Tiger. You should treat yourself to some new season's clothes. We're halfway through season 2 of Breaking Bad - it's ace. Don't know how we missed it first time round.

Hope the weather improves for your Cornwall hotel break next week Birdy.

RevoltingPeasant · 13/02/2014 19:14

Oooh congrats Gill! That is a definite step, and you know, the days will just roll away and before you know it you'll be back there for transfer!

Are you coming down to us in the SW Birdy? Whereabouts? When the weather isn't blowing a gale it is quite beautiful down here! Really....

Parsley2506 · 14/02/2014 08:01

Hope you get a positive call soon gill!

tiger I've had the same shopping indecision issues too, but after the MC last year I just decided to be nice to myself in the here and now so go for it, have a little splurge - you 100% deserve it. When is AF due? I'm about a week off myself and trying and failingto avoid symptom spotting.

No valentines action here, we're not really into it although we are having steak for dinner! Nice and rare for me... Wink

BecauseIsaidS0 · 14/02/2014 08:06

I went through a painful hour of shopping with my mom where she kept reminding me to not buy too much, just in case. Just in case could be years for all I know!

I've been crazily symptom spotting this week (sensitivity to smell and also suddenly I have spots on my chin like I did when I was a teenager) but now I think the game is up and AF will turn up over the weekend.

Gillster · 14/02/2014 10:06

So the FC just rang. Out of the 12 eggs, 6 have fertilised normally and are currently being frozen. One fertilised abnormally, three eggs were immature so wouldn't have fertilised and two couldn't be arsed! Slightly disappointed with the numbers but I guess 6 is pretty reasonable considering my age.

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/02/2014 10:30

6 sounds good to me! I'm surprised they freeze them straight away. When is your op scheduled?
