weller I am so sorry to hear about your BFN. I too believe it's part luck, there's got to be some part of that in it. However that doesn't take away from what a terrible feeling it is, and how devasted you feel. When you are ready to go again, we will all be here, backing you every step of the way.

hellokittydrivesmenuts · 11/06/2012 19:53

oh and a quick one for Mo. Fantastic news about 4 embies on board my dear. Gotta love the Greeks. Actually my Mum's parents were born in Greece and last year I visited for the first time. Loved it so much am going back this year to do exactly the same holiday. I wish they were doing better too.But anyway enough of all that trivia, really really good news! go embies go!

Sorry I haven't caught up with everyone else, but will do so in next day or so. Big hugs to all oxo

Italiangreyhound · 12/06/2012 00:36

Hi lovely ladies, hope all is well.

Lissy, Keziah hope all is well.

Lucy not long now.

Sunnyg thinking of you.

All of you, I am thinking of all of you.

Vicsin my area they do implant 2 embryos, and in some placs even 3 for older ladies (over 40 I think). I have never heard of 4 in the UK. The reason is, I think, they are worried about multiple births. Although the idea of twins is adorable (to me!) and I have a few friends with twins, I think they are worried about more than two. Let's hope Mojangled has a safe and happy two weeks and an exicing result at the end of it.

All best wishes to all.

Italiangreyhound · 12/06/2012 00:39

Vics good luck with the CBT. I really think it will help. I really hope you get the help you need and feel better. I am sure your GP will be good. I wonder if this book will also be helpful BUT I do think going via GP is a good idea, the best idea in fact. I am so happy I saw my GP for my anxiety. So do see the GP but if you fancy reading something this book looks good:

Break Free from OCD: Overcoming Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with CBT

www.amazon.co.uk/Break-Free-OCD-Overcoming-Compulsive/dp/0091939690/ref=pd_sim_b_1

There is a review which says "Throughout the book the authors write in a gentle, kind, supportive and most importantly, a positive manner, which like any good therapist helps us relax and feel at ease with the authors and what they write."

The review says it is written by Mr Fulward who is Chief Executive of OCDUK. www.ocduk.org/

Good luck. I am battling with my food issues at the moment and can report that things are going much better. Have asked two lovely ladies from church (two slightly stern and normal sized ladies) to be my diet coaches! I am doing a CBT book and a weight loss diet.

Quick one from work... welcome HelloKitty and very best of luck. Lots of hand-holding on here.

Vics a lot of it?s about your age and the state of your eggs, but I believe the HFEA guidelines are that 2 can be transferred up till a certain age which I cant remember but it?s something like 38/40, and 3 thereafter to compensate for the higher proportion of duds in older eggs. Some clinics have a preference for single transfers, especially at blastocyst stage, to rule out any chance of complications associated with multiples, but remember that you have a right to a view, they?re your eggs and your body, so always talk through your preferences and all the options with your clinic. Remember also that clinics want to manage risk and you want to get pregnant - similar but subtly different objectives!

Sunny I?m tempted to go back for a proper hol later this summer too!

Weller chickie, how are you doing?

Bugsy I'm sure you know this, but sometimes you get crampy feelings as your uterus grows as well as for bad reasons. Can you ask to have your scan bought forward?

2WW stuff: I'm having my usual 3 cups of coffee jangly energy thing, have done since Sunday, which is either the Fab 4's presence and energy talking to mine on the way to implantation (my acupuncturists view) or my immune system gearing up to reject the evil invaders (my darkest fears). Has anyone else ever had this at the start of the 2WW? I did with DS and one of my other cycles.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 12/06/2012 12:45

Hi, just passing by, thought I'd give some hope. I was going to join you on this thread a few months back but decided to just chillax about everything and be a what will be will be merchant. First round of IVF after years of trying and 4 failed IUIS, I had EC on 22/05 only had 6 eggs (out of 13 good follies) and poor sperm analysis and so had ICSI. 4 Fertilised, then 2 made it to blastocyst the other two dropped off. So had the only two popped back in on 27/05 and within two days I just felt preggers and sure enough last Thursday got my BFP. I am officially 5 weeks today!

Just thought I'd share as I was always desperately looking for positive news, but unfortunately most people turn to the forums when stressed out and things aren't going so well.

Good luck to everyone, and in the nicest possible way I hope I don't have to join you!

Keziahhopes · 12/06/2012 16:44

Oh SBC am so pleased to hear from you... remember you from the CBFM thread and knew you were thinking of IVF. Congratulations on your BFP!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 12/06/2012 17:54

Hi keziah, seems the cbfm was never gonna work for me, nor the IUI, although the icsi has worked, we still don't actually know what the problem is/was. It's just starting to sink in that it worked as it was all doom and gloom when I came around from EC, they seemed quite shocked that we ended up getting to blastocyst!

Fx its sticky, feels pretty secure! 3 weeks til scan to see who's there Grin

Congrats on yours! SBC x

Pocket1 · 12/06/2012 19:46

Dear Mojangled I've only ever had one 2ww and I didn't feel like that. I was more mental mentalling Confused. But I like your Accupuncturist view so let's focus on that. Hand is there if you need to hang onto something. Are you at work or a home? Channel 5 crappy afternoon movies were my prop. I'll be joining you next week Smile

SBC congrats. Really fab news. I remember you from other threads I dipped in and out of. Thank you for coming on to share your good news. Smile

AFM FET booked for Monday.

HelloKitty 'hostile environment' don't they use the loveliest of phrases!?! We are all 'challenged' in one way or another. The key is to get the right attention so that we can best tackle things to improve our chances. Make sure you ask loads of questions - if in doubt we are here. x

bugsylugs · 12/06/2012 20:02

Dear all scusethe me me post
Scan as I feared was bad news how do I know? I am sure that I got the very very miracle bfp as I had relaxed knew it was medically impossible to get pregnant how can I when motifs is zero? Also ds was conceived similarly knew we needed ICSI relaxed and it happened. Then I had no fear it would not succeed. I am sure that if I could stay positive relax etc outcome would be better. This is the 5 th mc. Evidence shows most likely outcome of positive result is if you believe I am a glass half empty lady how do I change? So plan wine and excess food etc ttill mon re start shred healthy eating loose weight . Book the acupuncture that I promised myself months ago. Dh to see re coaching counselling self help books for me. Get immunes done after 6 weeks was any one else told to wait to do these. Haematology appointment 10th july. So what else should I do ? Anyone else in midlands and experience with mc clinics?

hellokittydrivesmenuts · 12/06/2012 20:02

I think they are very hardened to their jobs as DP went for his check where they had a good feel and sperm sample given - gp then said prob is likely to be your partner but dont tell her that as women are very sensitive!!!!!!! RRRRAAAAAAAAAAA and clearly GP's are not!! so now i know this info i am just preparing myself for all the on going tests but my theory is keep trying as they can never say never esp after the thread i am watching- poor lady told will never have children 5 years on now just found she is preg and cannot believe it. How is everyone? Thankyou for the lovely warm welcomes. xx

bugsylugs · 12/06/2012 20:07

Sorry re typos not sure what mean wine in system

lucylookout · 12/06/2012 20:24

I'm sorry Bugsy, I so hoped you'd get good news

Pocket1 · 12/06/2012 20:25

Bugsy honey I am so sorry Sad it's just crap SadSadSad

Not sure about the 6 week wait for immunes, haven't heard that before. But there are lots of threads on mn you could ask. Also have a look at ff (I posted once and never got a reply but there is a lot of stuff that may help).

In terms of what else to try, I've done accupunture, zita west meditation cd, positive visualisations and affirmation, borrowed emma cannons baby bible book which was very good) Also eating more protein x1.5 precociously, no booze, drinking more water. Less gym and what I do is low impact and NO running. Some organic food (but only a bit). I did also have mimi immunes - hence now the clexane.

Thinking of you and do as sending you a huge hug. And I am v Envy of that glass of wine x

Pocket1 · 12/06/2012 20:26

Aarrgghh I meant I am eating 1.5 times as much protein as previously. Not precociously!!! x

wellerbabe · 12/06/2012 21:30

bugsy so sorry it's just not fair we all had our fingers crossed for you Sad. Hope you get the support you need although you may not get the answers which is the most frustrating part

Enjoy the wine I have been and I have been stuffing my face with all the wrong things. Big hugs Wink

Keziahhopes · 12/06/2012 22:14

bugsy so sorry with your mc. I think the gap before immune testing is due to levels being different due to bfp/mc and they need a gap. I had immune testing - level 1 and 2 at Care, there are several in Midlands area. Most of immune testing are what NHS does for miscarriage testing - I guess you could have those on NHS but you would have many months of waiting for that. I found I had thrombophilia factors - hence I needed simple medications to help me maintain pregnancy (as well as complicated immune issues!). Hope wine helps right now.

SBC - yes, we needed more than a CBFM, but my little one is not an IVF baby - IVF ICSI didn't work for us, but had a miracle bfp 2 months after our cycle failed and had a natural bfp with lots of immune medications, which we wouldn't have known we needed without the immune testing after the failed ICSI. But the CBFM meant I knew my cycle very well which was important in the end Grin

bugsylugs · 12/06/2012 22:58

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. Good friend came round with bag of chocolate peanuts and bottle of rose how fabulous is that?
Clotting seems ok apart from low protein s but could be due to after effects of pregnancy but all being repeated results 10th July. CARE will treat with clexane from start NHS if confirmed from 12 weeks. Chicago tests to be done in 6 weeks dr Lowe at care notts happy for me to do direct if chicago will accept will save several hundred pounds if they do. The question is should undo testing in each embryo sorry I know some one had done this but brain hazy at present. Should this be on another thread? Welcome all new people helpful informative supportive thread I wish you all well and baby dust as pre Italian

bugsylugs · 12/06/2012 23:00

Trying to say should I go for genetic testing of each embryo. As reminder am 42 history mc 2003 ds 2008 after 2+yrs then 5 mc

bugsylugs · 12/06/2012 23:01

First of the majority cp others all with hb or feral pole

BadgerFace · 13/06/2012 07:59

Oh bugsy I'm sorry to hear your news. I can't offer any advice on testing but I'm thinking of you. I hope that you get all of the support you need.

Scrummybump · 13/06/2012 13:48

bugsy really sorry for you and DH. I can only echo what others have said re immunes, but can't advise on your individual approach
