Great news Weller.

Scarlet your smelly feet story made me laugh! I am just waiting for my scan, and I have smelly pumps on too. Blush

Josie great to hear things are looking good. Is it worth getting some tests for a few things on NHS, like thyroid, sticky blood etc. I can?t remember what all the stage one tests are. Keziah do you know what you can get tested on NHS? Or is that not a good idea? It?s just a thought. Keziah and Lucy any thoughts, sorry to pry Josie.

Pocket you are not the only one not pregnant yet, but let?s hope your time will come. HUGE hugs Smile. Love the poem.

Badger, SunngD, Lissy and co. Huge hugs and chocolate boobs Biscuit Biscuit.

Welcome Scarletinspace what a great name. Hi GardeniasD welcome to you and any other s.

We are just exploring adoption after years of fertility treatment. I am feeling quite positive. Getting our spare room ready, one of the things they (social Services) will need to know is have we got room for another child. Our spare room is full of junk and so I am going to de-junk it and put up some nice pictures so it looks child friendly but not ready for a child yet!

Keziahhopes · 31/05/2012 10:19

Italian it is great you are so positive. And am sure you will be a great Mum to an adoptive child. De-junking sounds a good step forwards.

Josie what great news that you found a clinic that has a different treatment protocol they suggest, rather than the previous clinic that were suggesting donor eggs. Although a delay of a few months there is lots you can do to help prepare. Like Italian suggests you may get your Gp to do Level 1 Immune tests - for things like thyroid, blood clotting factors etc which can help you learn if you need other medication (I learnt I needed thyroid medication which needs to be taken a few months before a treatment cycle which would have delayed things further if I hadn't found out!) to help a cycle work. Most Gp's will do many of them for free. Or you can look at your diet and weight (not saying there is anything wrong with yours - but I lost a few pounds, increased fruit and veg intake etc), to help prepare.

sunnyg · 31/05/2012 17:31

weller so pleased ET went well. You must be so pleased! I hope your time on the bench goes quickly!

Speaking of the bench sarlet how is your time going? When do you test?

bugsy I am nervous too. Also keep boob prodding. Can you remind me how many weeks you are? Do you have any other 'symptoms' as yet?

Scarlett that sounds like a plan with your work. No need to say anything to early, just when you have more dates and you feel ready. I'm sure everything will be fine. As I said I was so nervous telling my new boss and she was great.

Josie good to have you back. Thanks so much for your good wishes. Your new clinic sounds really flexible and switched on. October will come around fast, although I know it always feels like you are waiting for something with this fertility business.

Italian how long is the process for adoption? Will it take some time before you see a social worker or are you already making progress. Good idea to start sorting your spare room. You will make a wonderful mummy to some very lucky child.

badger is it your first scan tomorrow?

Have a wonderful long weekend all! oxo

Pocket1 · 31/05/2012 19:06

Hello Italian honey. That all sounds really exciting and positive. What a lucky little boy or girl to be joining your family. I hope it all happens for you very soon.

Badger sending you an enormous hug for tomorrow. Let us know how you get on my dear.

AFM first celaxine jab tonight. Can't say I'm looking forward to it at all but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do!!

Anyone else looking forward tithe bank hol? I just cannot wait to have four whole days off.

BiscuitBiscuit

ScarlettInSpace · 31/05/2012 19:28

Italian what a wonderful thing you are doing. There's a small bit of me that feels guilty being so bloody focused on conceiving a child when there are so many kids already in need of a loving home.

sarlat · 31/05/2012 21:12

Evening

My beta test showed BFN. I am really sad.

The Dr is suggesting my small hydrosalpinx may be the problem as the blasto and wob conditions were apparantly 'erfect'. They won't let me procedd to FET without a Consultants review which will take 12 weeks.

It is likely they will tell me I need surgery to have my fallopian tubes removed to address the hydrosalpinges. Sad

Those who have had IVF - did anyone have twitching of flipping sensations in the womb during the 2ww? I had this and was just wondering if it was a medication thing or attempted implantation.

Will update soon, xx

sarlat · 31/05/2012 21:37

Sorry for all the awful spelling. Already been on the Wine.
Hope the above makes sense.

Italiangreyhound · 31/05/2012 23:16

Scarlett I am so sorry to hear these problems. Not sure what to say as I know nothing about it all. BUT 12 weeks is no time at all really. How old are you? I expect those 12 weeks will fly by and you can get as such information as possible and just eat as healthily as you can while you wait. I don?t mean to sound flippant, a BFN is horrible. Sad I just mean you can just get as much info as possible and have a review and see where you are.

Scarlett As far as adoption goes please do not feel bad for wanting a birth child. I have struggled over this for years and am very pro-adoption but still letting go of the chance to have a second child by donor eggs was a big thing. Lots of people have babies naturally with no help and I wonder how many of them think they should be adopting instead! Intimately, I do think you need to be in the right place for treatment (I mean mentally) and the right place to stop treatment and the right place to stop TTC and the right place for adoption. By that I mean you can't sort of talk yourself into or out of things easily! I mean people in general not you in particular! Also, in a way things can come crashing in like needing different treatment or running out of money, but it still takes time to switch from TTC to looking at donor eggs to looking at adoption. I think it is important at each stage to thin what is right for 'me'. It might be that adoption is right for someone else at that point or for you at another time but if it is not right for you at that point then it is wrong to try and push yourself into things. Does that make sense?
Josie hope you find some tests etc helpful. I too got my thyroid sorted out due to fertility treatment and also identified my high blood pressure due to fertility treatment, but better to know about it.

Hugs to Keziah, Lissy and Lucy and baby dust to Pocket, Maplecake, Scrummy, BadgerFace, Mojangles, Bugsylugs, Lexie, Weller, Mini, Sunnyg, BadgerFace, Pumpkinjoy, vallinnapod and all.

Healthy pregnancies, happy babies and families and chocolate boobs to all Biscuit Biscuit.

Italiangreyhound · 31/05/2012 23:19

Sorry - that should be ULTIMATELY not intimately!

wellerbabe · 01/06/2012 06:43

sarlat so sorry to hear your news. Can you try and push for an earlier appointment as they know you have other issues ? You know you produced lots of lovely eggs and you have got some in the freezer do stay positive if you can Wink

italian good to hear from you and you are sounding really positive keep us posted on your adoption journey

Waves to everyone else Smile

JosieSmith1 · 01/06/2012 08:23

How fantastic Italian I?m so pleased for you, fingers crossed the time passes quickly for you too and you soon have another little girl/boy to join your loving family Smile Thanks for the advice re: immunes, I?ll certainly think about it, although I have to admit part of me doesn?t want to know in case the clinic won?t give me more treatment on the NHS! I completely understand what you mean about dealing with each stage before being ready for adoption. Sometimes I feel like adoption will be ok if that?s what it comes to, but other times like when you get a BFN after IVF I feel like I don?t want to adopt. For me certainly, I feel it?s important for me to exhaust all other options before I consider adoption and I know I won?t be ready to adopt until I?ve tried everything else I can. Definitely keep us updated on your adoption process Italian

So sorry to hear that Sarlat you certainly have a lot to think about but take the time you need to grieve before making any decisions

Waves to everyone Smile

Sarlat honey I am so sorry about your bfn. It's just cr*p and I can see how the possible procedure and wait compound things for you. Sad

12 weeks feels like ages but can you put this time to good use? I've had 6 months since mc and ive taken the time to rest and repair emotionally and mentally - I feel different now and really ready for round 2. During my gap I've started meditating, acupuncture, improved diet, and given myself a break from the stress of ivf. I wonder if you can make this time work for you?

Having said that if you do want to move quickly can you push for an earlier apointment? Or would you consider private to speed things up? It would be a pain to 'start again' but you may progress more quickly if that's what you want.

Post my ivf I definitely felt a gentle pulling sensation. Not painful at all but I felt something for sure. I believe that was implantation.

Take some time to rest and be kind to yourself. Lots of love and best of luck. We are here for you'll x Smile

Pocket1 · 01/06/2012 09:05

Sorry phone probs! X

JosieSmith1 · 01/06/2012 13:15

My ex-best friend has gone into labour EnvyEnvy Sad

BadgerFace · 02/06/2012 08:59

Hi ladies, just checking in to say that the scan went well and the little heartbeat was there. Grin In a rather surreal turn of events me and DH ended up starring in some promotional photos which were being taken for the new clinic (which was a big improvement on the old clinic, there was a proper waiting room and everything rather than just a corridor). We wanted to be helpful but at the same time all I could think was, erm, this is just elongating the time until the scan and I want to know NOW!!

Sarlat Sorry to hear your news. I hope that you manage to regroup and relax over the bank holiday.

Pocket I hope that the first jab went well and wasn't too sore - defo get some posh chocs in to "help"...

Josie I'm not sure of the back story with your ex-best friend but chin up and ignore her!

Italian Exciting news about decluttering your spare room in advance of your next stage!!

Weller How are you finding the bench? Poking those Biscuit Biscuit in public yet Smile

Waves to everyone else.

Pocket1 · 02/06/2012 11:32

Oh Badger I am SO glad to hear the scan went well and yay for that hb Grin I was worried that you hadnt updated and must have checked on here about 10 times (not in a stalker-ish way I promise).

Love that you starred in a shoot and that clearly a celebrity mum life awaits you! But how annoying that it came before the scan. You must have been twitching!

Weller hon hope you're doing okay. There's lots going on for jubilee weekend and some good tv, hope you manage to distract yourself Smile

AFM, first and second claxane jabs have been completely fine and painless! Not sure why I got my knickers in such a twist. Thanks to you lovely ladies I had a list of dos and donts that helped massively so a huge thank you.

Enjoy the bank hol everyone - we all seriously deserve to be treated like royalty his weekend!! Grin

BadgerFace · 02/06/2012 12:05

Ah Pocket that's very sweet! Went straight from the scan to see a friend on a flying visit from NY and then out for dinner hence it taking a while to update! Thanks for thinking of me. Smile

Also meant to say if anyone is self-funding and needs Gonal F then I have an unopened 450 dose pen which will stay in my fridge in case/until anyone would like it.

And I am SO pleased that I am now Cyclogest free, was told I didn't need to take it any longer - hurraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!

wellerbabe · 03/06/2012 06:00

badger glad scan all went well bet you are relieved! GrinGrinGrin

Italiangreyhound · 03/06/2012 18:54

Badger Great news.

Josie I know it's very hard but try not think about it too much.

Pocket huge hugs to you.

All the Jubilee (in the rain where I am) best to you.

HUGS all honeys.

lucylookout · 03/06/2012 19:49

Read your message from a bit too far away Italian, and thought you'd gone all hip hop, calling us 'homeys' Grin

Happy (wet) Jubilee to you too

sunnyg · 04/06/2012 11:25

sarlet so sorry my dear to hear your news. I really hope you have managed to relax a bit over the weekend, although I know the intense disappointment and sadness takes much longer to go away. We are all here for you though.

Pocket glad to hear first few jabs went well. I'd second the choccy!

badger hurrah! so happy first scan went well. I've got mine in about 2 weeks and the anxiety is almost as bad (maybe even worse!) than the 2ww! You must be soooo relieved. And look at you with your celebrity photo moment, although I agree, timing could have been better!
