Hello! Just miscarried and ready to start again, come and join us...

PieMistress · 27/07/2011 19:44

Evening Peeps!

manda i'd be doing exactly the same thing if I had a stash of ICs (I normally do every cycle but decided not to buy any this month and go 'cold turkey' which i've blatantly failed at as had to buy Superdrug tests in my need to POAS - bfn at 10dpo - PAH!) I think some Led Zeppelin might suit a bit of light mental-ite Grin

eve 40lbs! That is AMAZING!!!! I was also wondering at what age I should introduce DS to the dentist's chair? He is a very reluctant tooth brusher!

summer you have incredible willpower! There is no way I couldn't test at 14dpo! But, you are right it does save the disappointment of testing too early which I am so so guilty of. Dunno why I do it to myself! Just so desperate to be pregnant again!

missg I checked my FF chart for the month I got PG and I had creamy CM too Grin

blue I have poas during AF before Blush

whats fingers crossed AF does one very soon so you can get busy! Grin

Well, DS has had a very very odd rash for a few days now which gets worse when he's in the bath so took him to the GP who said it's a viral rash and to keep an eye on it and should right itself in a couple of weeks and 'oh, keep him away from any pregnant women' (!!!) Ok, so that freaked me out although I know deep down i'm not up the duff this month. I did Dr Google about it though - bad bad bad me!

Does anybody know what can cause pre AF spotting? I am seriously dressed head to toe in black right now (but with silver steel toe capped DM boots) and getting right on some techno music, not strictly metal but YKWIM!) Ha, reality is more like jogging bottoms and a very scabby climbing t-shirt covered in DS's toothpaste!

I'm going to sit in the sunshine and read my book, tomorrow is back to rain, rain, rain

Big wave to everybody else, who have i missed IQ, marathon shimmery poppy lady babys cuttle hobnob mrsn and some snakebite & black for the mosh pit!

PS - I enjoyed this article!

ShimmeryPixie · 27/07/2011 21:22

Hey ladies and YES! IQ you rock. Such amazingly fantastic news :)

eve34 · 27/07/2011 21:23

Evening all

Just a quick one to say hi and escape from my report writing - note to self do not leave report writing til the night before a meeting with your funders!!!

Those who asked DS is 4. I took him once he turned 3 as my dentist suggested. First time he just looked in her room and watched me. second time he stood and let the dentist count his teeth. This time he skipped in, jump in the chair and had his teeth polished.

Miss G - how exciting - really hope we all soon get our BFP can't believe how many we are getting so soon.

It is nearly the weekend think of me 30 kids and activities not for me I will supervise.

BlueCrane · 27/07/2011 22:50

pie that article is excellent! Blush I must confess to having done a few of those things in the 2ww's I have experienced...oh dear oh dear what are we coming to eh?! Slooowwlly going insane...all of us...just look what the desire to reproduce does to our normally sensible and rational minds!!

eve hope the report is going well!

I've been for a nice walk and chatted to friends rather than doing any study tonight and have another evening out planned tomorrow...a busy weekend ahead catching up methinks!

Anyway...laptop moaning it's out of battery and I can't be bothered to get out of bed and go and get the power cable so it's night night from me...sleep well all!

InsomniaQueen · 28/07/2011 06:29

Morning all - thought I would get my post in before you all woke up as I couldn't have caught up otherwise.....you lot move far too quickly!!! Firstly thanks to everyone for your messages I feel ok about things just wish this spotting would go away. Gonna call the midwife today and just see if she has any suggestions. Bought a new bag yesterday to treat myself as I will be hardcore saving from September. No due date as of yet but the sonographer said between 5 and 6 weeks. I haven't been able to get hold of him but have text him so he will get that as soon as he gets back to work where he had to leave his phone.

Manda now that is pretty strange - I shall await any and all news impatiently hopefully!!!

blue how goes it with the witch? Just to out myself I POAS during and after AF in the first months TTC as I had convinced myself I was one of those people who are pg but still get an AF......your brain can seriously mess with you at times.

summer I'm very Envy about your weekend.....sounds like you had a ball....luckily is my anniversary in a few weeks and were going to Weymouth for a weekend where I plan to stuff myself with candy floss and mini doughnuts!!! I know what you mean about not wasting digi's they are bloody expensive but as you so eloquently put it "FFS put us out of our misery and POAS"....fans self and sits down......he he he!!!

eve 40lbs - what are you superwoman? Hope you got your reports sorted - I shall think of you at camp over the weekend....hope it all goes well!!

baby how are you doing now? Glad your getting some helpers - hope this helps loads towards sorting out the building site!!

shimmery damn the AF but glad your feeling upbeat. thanks for the outfit - my DH would love it.....he is a masive ac/dc, led zep, kiss ect fan and has decided that "his child" is going to play guitar and they are going to have jamming sessions with him in the drums......there is nothing like getting ahead of yourself is there Grin!!

whatso hope the witch leaves and doesn't think about coming back for round two!!!

MissG keeping it all crossed for you!!! Xxxx

marathon you are not mad - mad is my sister and her sympathetic pregnancy - last night she looked up and said "god this bloating is doing my head in....how many weeks till this goes away" but I'm even more mad cos I actually started looking it up on line and it actually didnt figure in my mind for ages that she wasnt actually pg.....really we have just lost the plot!!! This and the jinxing jumper are just examples of how normally sensible women can get a 'notion' in their heads and then let themselves get carried away with said notion.

All are welcome in the padded cell - we only ask that you metal like you mean it and come up with equally good notions as the sympathetic pg and the jinxing jumper......me and marathon need other people to join us in our behaviour!!

Hi to cuttlefish, mrsnesbit, poppy, lady and hobnob!!!!

Right well that was epically long but it think I got everyone....if I missed you I'm very sorry Blush.

Love to all!!! Xxxx

BlueCrane · 28/07/2011 08:06

Morning all!

Have a night out planned with the lads I used to work with tonight which will be fun, though does mean that I don't get to see DH again...he's on lates this week so asleep when I leave in the morning and I'm asleep when he gets home...roll on tomorrow eve when I might actually see him!! Not sure how these new shifts will work for SWI when we get to that point Hmm

Anyway...enough waffling, must finish getting ready for work...catch you all later!

Summerbird73 · 28/07/2011 09:57

missg I had forgotten about the blue pee! Grin oh if only ? then the conception threads in mumsnet would prob not exist! And your little post here is my mantra for the week ?Chin up, boobs out, and PMA all the way to that BFP?

marathon YY you sound just like me, I threw out my lovely PJs I wore in hospital when I had my MC as I was convinced they were jinxed, now I am feeling a little Hmm about it! Hoping your cardi is black/purple/midnight blue/claret with a skull and crossbones on the back of it - obviously for the ?rock? look!

manda so if you were only 4DPO yesterday then you have a few days yet? crap about the BFN but maybe you were just a bit hasty (absolving all responsibility from myself obviously ? hides in corner) and you have 40 ICs! God I would be unstoppable! YY go for testing every day!!!

blue I thought your post said (about your friends 2week old babba) that you ?dropped dinner all over them? Shock and am loving your analogy ? peeing over £5!

pie I googled about taking children to the dentist and lo and behold it enticed me back into mumsnet! Grin there is an interview with a dentist which is really informative ? basically take them to the dentist when they get teeth. My DS is 2 so I am going to make an appt soon. here you go

shimmery that babygro is AWESOME DUUUDE! Angry about AF. DH said the same to me if we get caught this month ? he said he wants more dedication from me Grin honestly ? get yourself a fully loaded coffee, blue cheese, and some Wine and pate tonight!

eve what is your job? It sounds intriguing ? report writing for funders and camping with children..? are you a better version of ?Melody from d?apprentice? where you get the best potential out of children (did anyone ever work out exactly what it was she does?).

IQ glad you are feeling good today, I know it is easy for me to say but please try not to worry about the spotting, remember the little heartbeat you saw yesterday

And yes IQ I see what you did there ? giving me a piece of my own advice Grin BTW your sister sounds hilarious!

Waves to baby late (if you are still lurking) whatso poppy hobnob mrsn and cuttle

Now then onto me ? my metalling is completely ramped up to the max volume ? my neighbours are complaining about the racket as Lemmy is totally belting out the toooons.

So I am CD25, I think I am 15DPO but I could be 14DPO as my OV pains started on the Wednesday into the Thursday but the EWCM didn?t come until the Thursday, so does it count from when it starts or from when it is in full mode??? Confused AF could come tonight but then it could come on Sunday? Hmm the last two months I have tested too early and been Sad but then I could be PG! I had AF cramps on Tuesday, brown spotting yesterday morning and nothing since?

I was doing the ironing last night whilst listening to my Amy Winehouse Back to Black album. Was in floods of tears ? the album is so poignant now Sad Also when I tucked up DS last night I said without thinking ?goodnight my angel ? mummy loves you very much? almost to the word what Mitch Winehouse said at the funeral yesterday Sad Sad

babysaurus · 28/07/2011 11:13

Hello everyone! I did read the thread yesterday but wasn't able to respond. I have a new Blackberry and the screen seems to be either mini or huge so it was tricky. Hopefully I'll get used to it very soon and can catch up when out and about.

I logged in specifically yesterday to see how IQ got on. All I can say is HURRAH! That made my day! Thank goodness!

The other news I was looking out for was Manda's peeing on a stick developments. Shame it doesn't seem to be the news that was hoped for but, ever the optimist, lets hope it's just too early to tell!

I won't scroll back up to the top and look to see who wrote about cervical sludge and pregnancy but wanted to add, to whoever it was who asked, I had LOADS of it when pg. It was really obvious! Well, to me in private it was, I don't mean it was dripping down my leg or anything Blush

Right, have lots to do but am lurking even if I am not posting! Bye for now... x

whatsoever · 28/07/2011 11:19

Summer I have now cried twice when they have repeated the last words of Mitch Winehouse's eulogy on the TV news. In fact I am welling up now thinking about it, so I won't type them. The most frustrating thing about growing up (at 30 I still think it is something yet to happen to me) is realising that you can't fix people, and that must have permeated every day for Mitch and Janis in terms of their daughter

Anyway, I will stop talking sad stuff now. AF seems to have ended, fingers crossed it doesn't return. Tonight I shall be trying on dresses for the wedding I am going to on Saturday. There are several choices, none new, but I hoping with the help of spanx to get into a size 12 (a size smaller than I currently am) black/red/white shift dress Grin

Blue your peeing on a stick straight after AF made me chuckle.

The one thing I seem to be OK at is resisting the POAS urge. I have only ever done it when I have been late (with my slightly irregular cycle length AF has usually arrived a day or two later anyway). I think I find the BFNs a bit of a slap in the face so I want to see as few of them as possible. The only good one was the post-MMC one as it meant get on with SWI Smile

IQ loving your sis' sympathetic pregnancy!

shimmery sending wishes for a speedy AF so you can get back at it

[Waves to all other metalling inmates ]

BlueCrane · 28/07/2011 11:27

summer could I tentatively suggest that your spotting yesterday could be implantation and that you're being soooo patient waiting until the weekend to POAS?! Though I'm sure you've already thought of that Wink and are possibly in denial, just happy to wait at the moment!

My morning has been insanely busy from the moment I got in the office...need several Brew and feeling the need for cake too!! Better crack on again with it all now...

PieMistress · 28/07/2011 11:40

blue I ditto your implantation spotting thoughts for summer !! Grin

Missgiraffe1 · 28/07/2011 11:56

Shimmery what a rockin' baby vest!! Smile

Boo to bfn Manda but, as you said, you might just be too early for test to pick up. FX its a bfp soon! Smile. Sounds like you're well stocked for testing anyway!

Summer I am CD 24 (I think I said I was CD22 yesterday, but for some reasons thought it was Tuesday yesterday!). Metalling like metal!! And Sad it's an amazing album. I'm sure she could have surpassed it too, had her life not been so sadly cut short. At least she's left her mark in this world Smile

Blue I empathise. I had exactly the same metalling incident last week, when I convinced myself AF hadn't actually AF at all. There's this little voice in your head that plants a tiny seed then it's metalling all the way to the bathroom. Given that we are not 100% sure of what our bodies are doing, I think random manic testing is just par for the course for the time being.

Thanks IQ One minute I want to test, next minute I don't. Scared either way!!

Eve 30?? 30 kids?? 30 kids camping all weekend?!?!? I take my hat off to you. I took DDs primary 7 class to laserquest as her birthday fell on the last ever day of primary school. I really only had to supervise for the 35mile bus journey, throughout lunch, and back home again (as I happily passed them over the the staff once we got them there). But I thought even that was a feat in itself!! Hope you have fun though, and hope you got that report witten. I would never leave work projects 'til the last minute...... erm, well hardly ever.... hmm actually....that's pretty much how I (rock n) roll most of the time.

Hi everyone else. Back to grey skies here after 5 days of glorious sunshine. Ah well, it was nice when it lasted.

babysaurus · 28/07/2011 12:03

Have just had a ponder and thought I would ask you lot. When you were (or are in the cases of some lucky buggers) pg did you realise / feel it before you tested? I ask as I only realised I was a few days late and so POAS (when DH was out, if I thought it would have been positive I'd have waited till he was back home.) The symptoms seemed to come thick and fast about a week after that, but before then, nothing whatsoever.

The reason I am thinking this now is because I know I'll be symptom spotting like a mad thing once we start TTC and will have to remind myself, I suspect, that previously I had no idea.

babysaurus · 28/07/2011 12:04

ps Eve you must be bonkers! Wink

Missgiraffe1 · 28/07/2011 13:02

Baby Like you, with my ectopic in April last year, I didn't even notice I was late (as we had stopped TTC due to my being a bridesmaid in September, and not wanting to look like a bookend. So it was an accident, although a very welcome one!). My first symptom was peeing constantly, but that didn't kick in until between 5-6 weeks. Followed very shortly by very sore and rapidly expanding boobs.

This time around, in April this year, the peeing and boobs happened again shortly after I got a BFP, but I think I noticed the thick creamy CM first, hence my recent metalling. I honestly can't remember if I had the CM last year. (by the way, I think I responded to one of your e-mails saying I had ERPC on 16th June ? It was 16th May)

In hindsight, it's the absence of pre-menstrual symptoms that I now remember would have been an idicator:
Usually my boobs get sore a few days before AF due - this didn't happen with either of the PG
Usually, I get pre-AF cramps, not bad, but enough to know AF is on way - this didn't happen with either pg.
And PMT!! Well, this is very obvious for at least 1 day a month, around 2-3 days before AF comes - no door-slamming/swearing/fuming about insignifcant things with either pg.

Am fairly sure I have never felt pg before getting a BFP though, but know people who have.

eve34 · 28/07/2011 13:14

Morning all.

Hope everyone is ok, just a very quick catch up as I am off to do the food shopping - don't I know how to rock and roll :-)

IQ - 40 is 2/3 the way through I was/am that fat. Last 2 years have been hell (DP shagged a tart. I mean had an affair- all in the past now) so I ate myself silly. Not a drinker food is my vice. So pleased to be slimming down again. Feels like I am back in control of my life.

Summer I work for a charity supporting families who have a certain degenerative genetic neurologcial disease. Meeting was with county council who fund part of my role. went well so must be doing something right. The focus for me is the families. Camp is with the children who have poorly parents and are at risk of the disease too.

Camp always seems like a good idea it is only 3 days and the kids love it but I am always glad when sunday afternoon comes round. It also means I get a week off work :-) so get an extra weeks holiday.

Hope everyone has a great weekend I am sure this will of moved on miles by the time I get back on Sunday.

Thinking of you all metalling :-) still no period here but don't think it is because I might be PG, just think it is taking it's time......

MarathonMama · 28/07/2011 14:14

Hello all! Will you all please slow down, I'm finding it hard to keep up.

Eve well done on the weight loss, that is mighty impressive. Sorry to hear about your DP, men are such numpties, their brains really are in their todgers sometimes. Your work sounds so very worthwhile. Hope you have a great time at camp and fx AF doesn't arrive and there's a BFP on the way Wink

Baby I've never felt pg before doing a test, I know some people do though. People even claim to have symptoms straight after fertilisation and before implantation but that's never been me.

MissG I've never had extra mucus when pg but I know lots of people who have. Here's hoping for a BFP Grin To answer your question, I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow. Uneasiness has gone and I don't have any other symptoms so totally paranoid it's all pear-shaped again as I lost the baby at around 7 weeks with the mmc. My booking is a week today, I wish I could just tell them to look at my notes from last time and use the same info again, I doubt they'll accept that though Hmm

Whatso glad AF has finally gone, happy dress squeezing... and breathe in....

Summer Oooh I'm hoping for implantation bleeding! I really can't imagine taking DD to the dentist. I have enough trouble getting her to clean her teeth, it usually ends up with a head lock prising her mouth open for a few seconds of manic brushing. I don't know how she'll cope with getting on a moving chair (climbing frame/ motion ride?) and letting a strange man or woman poke around in her mouth.

Loving the vest Shimmery that's classic!

Manda sorry for being pushy re. POAS but it sounds like there's still some hope. If we're going for metalling "Lite" I would suggest The Darkness, what do you think? I believe in a thing called love...

IQ when will DH get his text? I bet he'll be super pleased Smile Are you still spotting? What did the MW say?

Pie I used to get pre-AF spotting but bizarrely only after having DD. I used to spot about three days before AF and then AF would arrive. I did read via Dr Google that low progesterone can cause pre-AF spotting but I have no idea what the implications of that are.

Right, there are a few of you now in a precarious position so we must be due another BFP soon. Can we have some more POAS please? I'll ramp up the metal with some AC/DC, we can work our way through the alphabet...

waves to anyone I've missed, passes around Biscuits

OP posts:
Summerbird73 · 28/07/2011 16:17

at work so no time for a full name check (I always create a word document and copy and paste - then find it in my recycle bin and double delete it in panic that IT are watching me!!)

just to say that still no news here - i too am hoping it is implantation but who knows? (CB digi that is who!). I just went through the last thread and last month i got AF on CD25 15DPO - which by tandem is today. Cue frantic knicker checking and full on metalling!

Off out tonight for a quiz so hoping that takes my mind off it (yeah right!). Have decided to get up at 4am on Sat morning and POAS then!!! if no AF that is Hmm

eve your work sounds amazing! have a wonderful (if not knackering) weekend.

speak tomorrow ladies xx

Missgiraffe1 · 28/07/2011 16:31

Eve I meant to say congrats on the weight loss too, that's amazing! And sorry you've had a difficult couple of years. It's nice to hear you have sorted things out though - nobody's perfect afterall (except us fabulous women of course Wink, perfectly nuts that is Grin )
As marathon says, your job sounds so worthwhile. You must get a lot of satisfaction from it, especially when you see the kids at camp with big smiles on their faces. Have a fab - if exhausting - time Smile

Marathon, I have just this minute started having what feels like pre-AF type niggles Angry (or could it be uterus stretching? Shock) so think I'll try to hang off another couple of days. Swinging from thinking one thing to another on an hourly basis!

Re booking, it does seem a bit of a waste of time filling in all the stuff again, doesn't it? Hope you feel a bit more relaxed once you're past the 7 weeks-ish milestone. Brings it all back, doesn't it Sad . But, I refer you to an amended version of the mantra for the week:

"Chin up, boobs out @@, and PMA all the way to that bfp" Grin

Missgiraffe1 · 28/07/2011 16:32

to that bfp

ShimmeryPixie · 28/07/2011 20:52

Summer - dedication is now my middle name (seriously considered doing that via deed poll, but realises it would be weird). Good luck at the quiz.

Baby - if my cycle wasn't like clockwork, I would not have twigged that I was pregnant for a few weeks (at which point the sore boobs would probably have given me a clue). I was totally clueless.

Got news today that one of my uncles has died. I liked him, though didn't know him particularly well. It has made me very homesick for the North.

babysaurus · 28/07/2011 21:53

Oh no, ShimmeryPixie, am very sorry to hear it! You okay? Whereabouts in the north are you from? I am originally from the north, and have just moved back after spending 15 years in either London or Bristol.

re the pg symptoms, my cycle is like clockwork too so it didn't take me long to realise I was late either. Otherwise I could have left if forever. I am always slightly Confused at those to say they know almost immediately. To be honest, I thinkyou can convince yourself you are pg very easily if you want to.

whatsoever · 28/07/2011 22:12

Shimmery so sorry to hear about your uncle

So busy in here! I got half of my wish - got into my dress with the assistance of spanx; AF started up again after about 12 hours absence.

You win some you lose some. Roll on Friday. Happy metalling all Smile

babysaurus · 28/07/2011 22:24

I have some Spanx. They may work but I find them a) sweaty and b) unsettlingly reminiscent of something you'd have to wear if you'd been badly burned.
Empire line is my friend!

Shimmery was it unexpected about your uncle?
