Missgiraffe1 · 06/09/2011 17:44

And IQ, is your scan Friday?

Summerbird73 · 06/09/2011 18:39

yep missg the (.)(.)s are out and PMA all the way. I got a friend request from her on FB and have accepted, i can always block her if it gets too much. I want to crack on with this now though. We SWI last night (CD10) and he is out tonight so will go for it tomorrow and Thursday - i am out Friday so we can do Saturday.

I am after all channeling missgs foxy housewife style of last month, you is inspirational sista! oo and yes please i shall snaffle a bit of carrot cake, and pass me the fully alcoholic Wine i will start on it after DS is in bed Smile

oo yes eve is it DDs first week at school? tell all!

Missgiraffe1 · 06/09/2011 19:07

Sounds like a plan Summer!
Yep, I had some of my best high heels out for the occasion Summer Wink. And there is definitely something (desperate housewife-style) satisfying about opening the blinds after daytime SWI Grin
Oh, I told my DD. Turns out she had been raking about putting something in my en suite bin and had already seen the tests, but wasn't sure if the lines needed to be crosses or just lines, and had been searching on tinterweb for clues! Feel terrible. Anyway, she is obviously delighted. I told her not to tell anyone, but I know for a fact she will have told her BF. (but that's ok, as I can't blame her for being excited)

pebspop · 06/09/2011 19:16

baby i think everyone on here must feel pissed off when you see babies and pg women sometimes. it's only natural. i hate it when people announce pregnancies on facebook when they are about 1 minute pregnant. i know they don't think anything will go wrong but i feel like telling them the bad side - never do though they would think i am mad!

i agree with summer that when i see friends babies i don't want them i just want one of my own. maybe it's worth trying to visit the baby and see how you feel. just make sure you can escape if things don't feel right for you.

iq love your post. am sure we can all relate to your feelings.

picked my car up today, it's really cool!!

got doctors appointment lined up for monday and hopefully will be able to start ttc once i get my results later this month for why mc has happened to me twice. i am going on holiday next week so can't wait for that!!

feeling pretty good at the moment. hope it lasts! i am usually walking around under a black cloud thinking about mc, ttc and all the crap that goes with it.

pebspop · 06/09/2011 19:16

ps congrat manda

eve34 · 06/09/2011 22:36

Evening all

Just a quick one as I have scanned through. Firstly Manada so excited for you. all these bfp it is encouraging. How many do we have now ? Cuttle, marathon, IQ, miss G and you? Anyone I have missed, I am sure I have my notes are upstairs?? I am sure by the end of the year the rest of us will catch up.

Baby - It does get easier, sometimes it is like it never happened, sometimes you want to punch people in the face. Our time will come.

Yes DS start school today - I was in pieces last night - all the usual thoughts that I should of been on my way to a very nice bump by now and had new baby to focus on too. He went of happily and I think had a good afternoon. Long my it last.

DP has gone away with work this week. I should be ovulating wed - sun so not banking on getting my bfp this month either :-(

Work is really busy this week - I planned lots of visits to keep my mind of the school thing - Disneyland Paris Thurs next week can't wait. It will be great to just be us for a few days.

Marathon - will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Will hopefully catch up in more detail tomorrow. Hope everyone is ok, I know it isn't always easy but we will get there we have to hang on to that thought.

InsomniaQueen · 07/09/2011 07:22

Will catch up properly later but just wanted to say two important things:

  • massive congratulations to Manda.......your news has made me smile on a bloody busy and awful week. Hope the news is settling in and hope this is a nice and sticky one!!! How many weeks does this make you?
  • best of luck to marathon......waiting to hear your good news later today and will be checking until I see an update!!!

Morning to the rest of you lovely ladies and wishing you all a very good wednesday!!! Xxxx

babysaurus · 07/09/2011 08:18

Good luck today Marathon - will also be checking regularly for updates x

PieMistress · 07/09/2011 08:59

Good luck today marathon, thinking of you! xx

Summerbird73 · 07/09/2011 09:36

Morning everyone!

marathon masses of good luck for today Smile

missg your DD is adorable, i love reading your updates about her, am loving her googling to see whether you are PG or not Smile

eve Blush at me saying DD - of course it is your DS! Did he have a good day?

pebs huge fingers crossed for your GP appt. I dont know if this is the same thing but my MIL used to be a MW and Practice Nurse, she said to me that she used to give hormone injections to women who had multiple MCs pretty much as soon as they get their next BFP. Wondering if you will get something similar. What car did you get? I remember it was something distinctly non baby friendly (way to go! - i looked into booking a ski holiday before i got PG with DS!)

Waves to everyone - hope you are all having a good Wednesday Smile

MandaHugNKiss · 07/09/2011 10:19

You're in my thoughts marathon

MarathonMama · 07/09/2011 12:23

Awww thanks all, I really appreciate all your support, been feeling very emotional but all looks ok with the scan. Still feeling nervous and don't want to tell people for some reason. Will be back later, just waiting for a blood test.

HUGE congrats to manda, what fab news!!

OP posts:
Summerbird73 · 07/09/2011 12:42

excellent news marathon Grin

PieMistress · 07/09/2011 12:44

great news marathon Grin xx

MandaHugNKiss · 07/09/2011 12:48

Thank goodness, Marathon, what a relief!

Oh, IQ as for 'weeks' I'm a mere 3 weeks and 5 days today! Incredibly early. Oh, how the days are gonna draaaaaaag! Although by LMP I'm 4+4. I reckon I won't mention that I O'd six days later than 'average' so that I get my viability scan earlier... they dont do them until about 8 weeks anyway here so everything should WILL be visible and I'll know in my head it'll be perfect to be measuring six days 'behind'

PieMistress · 07/09/2011 13:05

manda that's a great way to look at it! Would you share your chart Blush this month? Or is that just daft!!!

MandaHugNKiss · 07/09/2011 13:51

Of course I'll share my chart!

Less BD than usual... but enough!

zebradoodle · 07/09/2011 14:09

manda fantastic news! Well done you :).

and marathon really glad the scan went well and it's another good step along the way, hooray!

Sorely-needed Brew and Biscuit for me please (she says, eyeing the Wine longingly and wondering if it'd be so bad at lunchtime. Um, at work). My PMA seems to have deserted me (dammit, it was doing so well). I still don't have the sought-after BFN (only just over 2 weeks since erpc, so not really surprising I know), but am feeling in a kind of limbo where I can't just move forward and get on with things without it. Sigh.

Missgiraffe1 · 07/09/2011 14:57

Quick one. Am being driven nuts at work.

Marathon Smile Smile Smile Fab news. So happy. I know it must be difficult to allow yourself to believe that everything will be fine, but I'm sure, with just a little bit more time, that will happen.

Zebra Sad for you. We have all been there. The frustration of knowing there's not a bloody thing you can do about it is awful. Your body will get itself back to normal eventually. 2 weeks is still early, but it still feels like a bloody eternity. How long it takes to get a BFN can vary too. Hang on in there x
How about an irish coffee? Alcohol combined with sobering (ok, I know that's not scientific, but it'll do for me!) coffee at the same time? The alcohol is therefore practically negligible! Grin and therefore fine for work and medicinal purposes. Very nice with home made home tablet.

pebspop · 07/09/2011 15:44

zebra try not to worry too much. two weeks is really not a long time - i have been waiting 10 weeks for AF! i don't know about you girls but i find i can wait for things if i set a goal in my head - like i won't test until the end of the month or after a night out, holiday ect. i know i will be testing/chasing something up /booking gp appointment but not until insert your own thing here has happened. that has got me through the last 10 long weeks!

maybe have a goal like you won't test for bfn again until next weekend. chances are you will get bfn then and you might stop worrying about it so much.

summer i got a fiat 500. it's pretty small so won't really be suitable for a baby. will see how that works out for me! i am not sure how they will treat me in the next pg. i have read they don't use the hormone injections now as they can just prolong a pregnancy that isn't going to work out anyway. i will know more when i see the consultant. they said it would be 12 weeks so a couple more weeks to go - fingers crossed.

Missgiraffe1 · 07/09/2011 17:30

Jeez, just walked into downstairs loo for a hankie (seem to have a never-ending cold, grrrr...Angry ) and the 'aroma' my darling daughter had left in there actually made me vom!!! Quite violently too!! Shock
Not so adorable now summer Grin

PieMistress · 07/09/2011 19:22

missg chortle!!!!

pebs oooo what colour is your Fiat 500? I had also heard that about hormone injections/progesterone supplements. Totally different attitude to the US though where they seem to frequently dispense progesterone supplements in early pregnancy, mmmmmm.

zebra it's so horrible isn't it waiting for the bfn :( It took me nearly 6 weeks to get mine, and 8 weeks for AF. I had some 'retaining products' though (horrible term of phrase) which meant I had a bfp for ages and needed antibiotics in theon end to clear it. I can remember it totally dragging for me and I got through it with lots of wine! :)

marathon so pleased the scan went well - whoop whoop!

manda oooo ta for chart, will have a squizz!

DP is out tonight so I was getting DS ready for bed on my own. He'd already done a poo during dinner so I thought we were safe .... he was sat drinking milk and reading a story upstairs and he just had his dressing gown on. He leant over off my knee then did a poo on the carpet before I could realise! Then whilst I was cleaning it up he did a pee! Oh they joys!!!! Sadly pooing in the bath or on the carpet during nappy off time is a relatively frequent occurence!

Anyway! Need to go and make lots of soup and stock up the freezer as it's full of ice lollies and not much else!

Was chatting with my sort of neighbour earlier who was telling me her daughter is 4 months pregnant with twins and is 40 so it made me feel better, and I had a good acupuncuture session last night (seemingly if you are waiting for AF after a m/c then acupuncture can help bring it along, or so i've read - thought that might of interest to a couple of peeps).

Big wave to all! xx

PieMistress · 07/09/2011 19:26

ps manda nice chart! Were you taking the B6 100mg complex on its own? or with any other vits/B vits?

babysaurus · 07/09/2011 19:30

Marathon I am SO pleased to hear your news! Hope to hear more details soon. Hope you are managing to feel a little bit more chilled about things (even if it's just a smidge!)

Zebra hugs from me. I understand totally where you are coming from. While I have not done any pg tests since my MC, I couldn't bring myself to, I am actually now desperate to get my period (as, of course, I don't know if I had one a few weeks ago or not - it was very light if it was!) I had the mc on the 13th of July so it's been a while! Or not! Who knows! One thing I am discovering about this whole ghastly business is that there is SO much waiting for things before you can even properly look forward.

I had a discovery today, for wont of a better way of putting it. I got my repeat prescription for insulin and also for folic acid. The pharmacist gave me the folic acid and said that she gave me the 5mg tablets as someone must have made a mistake and given me the 400 micrograms one's instead, which I can simply buy from the chemist. She realised I was meant to be on the super strong one's as I am diabetic, and thought it was a one off mistake. However, I checked my repeat prescription forms when I got in and it's all for 400 micrograms.
The diabetic team have stressed many many times how important it is to have the prescription strength stuff, and ask me all the time if I have enough. They are also the one's who sorted out the folic acid prescription in the first place. It says on the Diabetes UK website too it is of crucial importance. I have never checked the dose as I thought they knew what they were doing !!

I realise there is a 1000 reasons why someone miscarries, but giving FIVE TIMES lower the dose of something considered 'crucial' isn't going to bloody help is it?!

And they were the one's speaking to me like I was the numpty! Angry

PieMistress · 07/09/2011 20:32

Ps - Just thought you lot probably don't need to know about my DS's bowel movements, sorry! Blush

baby I would be so f.off!!! That's outrageous really. (I think in other countries they recommend 5mg as standard, not the 400mcg like the UK). Am guessing they don't know about the m/c at the pharmacy? You are right to be so annoyed!!! GRRRRRRRR Have you mentioned it to your diabetic team?
