Hi raspberry looks like its just us then!

Not sure about ovulation to be honest! Temperatures have been very erratic, though I've been feeling a tad under the weather so that has probably had in effect. Had a rush of CM last week, but seem to be getting a second wave now! I've got a Day 21 blood test on Friday do that will let me know either way.

Hope you get some bedroom action Grin

raspberrytipple · 22/11/2011 07:06

Lots of CM must be a good sign? I sometimes get two lots, one lot around day 10 then another a week or so later but not much in between which is odd. I've never worked it out. My thermometer arrived last week, do you think I should start temping now or wait til my next AF arrives?

It really is very quiet in here these days, unless everyone is playing hide & seek and forgot to tell us. I think we should start a recruit campaign!

CaveMum · 22/11/2011 08:21

I'd wait until the start of your next cycle before starting temping.

Ta for the advice re CM, because this is my first Clomid cycle I've no idea when I'm likely to ovulate so it's all a massive guessing game!

Morning Ladies! 'Flu stopped play for me this month - why Mother Nature couldn't send 'flu when AF was due and instead sends it over peak BD time is just beyond me!!!!

Anyway, what's your opinion on going to the Dr's for assistance in the New Year? I'm 34 (35 in March) and came off the pill in May '11. Will Dr send me away as we haven't been trying for a year - or will my age be a deciding factor????

CaveMum · 22/11/2011 09:04

I'd go to your Drs anyway Beegee, the worst they can do is say come back in a few months. Some Drs are really good and will get you in the system right away.

You might want to consider fibbing slightly and say you've been trying a year. I don't normally advocate lying, but it is only a few months difference.

Hi all. No news from me, missed the vital swi days this month so will wait til next month (would be a nice xmas pressie!). Think I'm going to concentrate on getting myself a bit fitter and healthier. Being a bit overweight and unfit won't be helping the babymaking so going to start running again tomorrow (was going to start yesterday but was hungover! Blush ). Been a long time since I had any kind of exercise routine (and I was 2 stone lighter) so think I'm going to struggle!
Had a breakthrough with DP....he bought me some pre conception vitamins AND suggested some baby names!!!! Shock Even more shocking was that I actually liked the names...Annabelle,not bad eh?!

SweetieDoesIt · 22/11/2011 13:19

Just popped in from the brookers thread where one of the lovely ladies got her BFP today. Much joy on that thread at the moment.

I am expecting AF to darken my door anytime, due Saturday but feeling like she might put in an early appearance this month. Not sure if I am sad or relieved really, I just prefer to know. It will be nice to relax over the festive period without watching what I am eating and drinking and other people watching what I am eating and drinking.

Been recently married I am shocked how many people have questioned our intentions on starting a family Shock, have you found the same raspberry wedding day twin? I was shocked how many guests asked us at our evening reception!!!

farmerswifey · 22/11/2011 16:01

Hello, farmerswifey reporting for duty - RaspberryTipple's silly hat and placards have won me over Wink

This is our very first month TTC our first child. I am 29 and my hubby is 41. AF is due on Thursday and I'm almost certain she will be visiting. Still keeping my fingers crossed though but trying not to overthink every little twinge. My mouth does have a strange metallic taste, but I think that has more to do with the horrid cheapo teabags I bought than pregnancy.

SweetieDoesIt · 22/11/2011 17:16

Hello farmers great to have you aboard. Grin

I am still reasonably new to the TTC lark and sway between extreme excitement and extreme terror. I had loads of symptoms which of course I was hunting for last month but AF showed up right on track. But on the positive at least my cycle is getting more regular after coming off pill back in Summer.

Fx for you this month. AF due at the same time as yours so we can symptom spot together. Wink

raspberrytipple · 22/11/2011 17:45

Good evening ladies!

Thanks cave i thought it was probably the case to wait til next cycle, think I'm due next week

JosieSmith1 · 23/11/2011 23:20

I'm afraid I won't be much help to those of you dieting - I'm starting a cake business! I won't mention it again!

Raspberry and Sweetie I used to get it all the time from the in-laws but after a few "god it'll be at least another ten years before we even think about it because I'm just not that into kids you know". They soon got the hint Grin. I do still get it sometimes and I also find it incredibly rude (especially when the woman at work who has an dopted daugher asked, you'd think she'd know better!) but some people genuinely don't think anything of it and I tend to brush it off with "well we'll see" and then quickly change the subject before I cry Blush

Beegee I also agree with what others have said. I wish I'd gone to the doctors sooner, if there is something wrong it can kick start the whole testing process sooner, and I wish I'd lied about how long we'd been trying and got in there sooner.

Hi Farmerswife, hope you're not with us long (in a nice way Smile)

Dessie I like the name Annabelle (SiL stole my baby name when her son was born, I'm now hoping my best friend doesn't steal my new names but knowing my luck recently she will, and I will never speak to her again Smile)

raspberry....'mooncup'??? Do I want to know?! Good luck with your healthy routine....I've had a wobbly start (literally!) Went for a run yesterday but managed to eat a BIG bar of chocolate last night. Not good.
Welcome aboard farmerswifey! And good luck, hope you're not with us too long.Wink
Well, nothing to do with myself this afternoon so think I'll settle in for an afternoon of Home an Health channel....what a sad life I lead! Sad

lol dessie I shouldn't really poison your mind if you don't know what it is but I will anyway. It's a little sillicon cup that you insert up your lady bits on your period so you bleed into it rather than say a tampon or sanitary towel, when it's full you take it out, wash out the contents then re-insert. Some people use it to store the semen up there after sex. I do have one and I must admit it grossed me out so I've not used it for periods but I know people who have them and rave about them. p.s, the healthy living is going well but I made a walnut and feta cheese salad for lunch and there is just to much nuts in it :( ick Other than that I've cut out caffeine, squash, booze, anything with saturated and trans fats and im on day 7 with no cravings as yet :) Very proud of self.

sparkle have fun tonight then! lucky husband :) I'm actually really excited about charting and even DH is fascinated (loves anything sciency) and cant wait for me to start Hmm

Hey josie how is the cake business going? I went through a phase a few weeks ago with DH of making loads but it was making me fat because we were eating them too quickly!

Well, in my news I had a follow up appointment with the GP this morning following DH's 'normal' sperm results. I now have to go back and see both the GP and nurse, have a whole load of blood tests done and an internal examination done. He said after that he will write to the consultant and off we go. He was very sweet, he kept saying 'so that's the plan of action ok, nothing to worry about', which instantly made me worry Hmm not looking forward to the internal as I expect I'll have to have one once I get to the consultant too :( I have had a little cry this morning and to be honest just want to get home for cuddles with DH and another little cry but I have to work until 5 then off to see the parents for an hour after work but I'll be able to talk to mum about it though so that's something.

Enjoy the rest of thursday Frollickers x

raspberrytipple · 24/11/2011 12:37

oh and just to clarify I've not used the mooncup for semen storage either. Not sure if there's is any point or not really. Grin

SweetieDoesIt · 24/11/2011 12:49

Aw raspberry hope you are feeling ok. It is really tough but at least things are happening. It seems the GP was good, at least he took your concerns seriously and was trying to reassure you. Good news that you are embracing the healthy eating, it can not do any harm at all.

I had never heard of a mooncup until I joined MN. I am not sure I really needed to know to be honest. It is knowledge that I now can not erase.

I am still on AF lookout but no show as yet. Expect to start spotting at anytime. Absolutely no symptoms to report.

Enjoy your afternoon all.

DessieLou · 24/11/2011 16:07

RASPBERRY TOO MUCH INFORMATION!!!! Eeeewwwww! Confused
So glad I asked, hahaha! Grin
My healthy routine is not going well Currently eating an aero.....but it's mint flavour, is that one of my 5 a day?! Hmm

raspberrytipple · 24/11/2011 21:06

sorry Dessie . Well, not that I'm boasting or nuthin but my eating healthy is going well although my salad today didnt feel very inspired so will have to swap to something chicken based for lunch tomorrow :) I haven't had coffee/tea/chocolate etc for a whole week :)

Thanks Sweetie the GP does seem nice although it will be a first to be 'examined' by a male doctor too! Never had that before but it will be with a female nurse present. I might have to ask to hold her hand as I'm really not sure what this examination is going to be looking at? Perhaps just to check I actually have lady bits although you'd think they would know that from me having my smears with them Grin. Not sure how invasive it's going to be Hmm

mrsmamma · 24/11/2011 21:23

Hi all I've been a watcher of this forum for a while and just wanted you to know I got a BFP today x 10 tests lol after TTC for 7 months x

SweetieDoesIt · 25/11/2011 08:12

Congrats MrsMamma hope you have a stress free pregnancy.

Raspberry you are very brave, I am sure Mr Dr will be very professional I have only even had lady bits examined by female nurses too. The invasive procedures really frighten me to be honest, I HATE going for smears doing only had 2 in my 38 years!!!

I am hoping we manage to get preggers without having to go down the treatment route. I am already putting off going back to see the GP to begin the referral process. I had thought we would go back after Christmas but now I am thinking maybe May. DH was asking about it the other day and I was trying to be blase about it. I keep pushing it out of my head how I will go on if i actually do get preggers and all that involves. Blush

CaveMum · 25/11/2011 09:06

Congrats Mrsmamma, do head over to the First Time Frolickers Grads thread over in Ante-Natal. They're a lovely bunch Grin

Day 21 for me do I'm sat in a hospital waiting room waiting to have my bloods taken to see if I've ov'd or not. I think I ov'd on Wednesday. Should get results early next week.

Happy Friday to all Grin

JosieSmith1 · 25/11/2011 15:42

Congrats MrsMamma!!!

Raspberry the internal is probably the same as I had when I went for my first chat with the fertility clinic - they did a smear to check for chlamydia (routine for everyone apparently) and then an internal ultrasound (which I wasn't prepared for!) She put a condom and some lube on a long thin ultrasound stick thingy, inserted it and then just moved it around a bit to see my womb lining and ovaries. I absolutely hate smears and I was on my period but it honestly was nothing, not painful in the slightest and actually quite interesting. I got a lump in my throat hoping that one day I'll have an ultrasound to see my baby. I have to have an HSG next which I'm really really not looking forward to! A bit more invasive than the internal ultrasound and sounds quite painful although I'm assured it's not.

The cake business is going ok thanks. Currently planning a golden wedding anniversary cake. I've been thinking about opening a coffee shop/bakery actually. Somewhere near my yard has a premises available in a busy shopping centre but the only place for a cuppa is tesco. Think I'm going to have a look at the building this weekend and see about starting it up.

I visited my pg friend yesterday, I have to admit I have been avoiding her recently but I had a really good time. The best bit was when she said she will never understand what I'm going through, and that if I have to go for IVF, it actually isn't as simple as just nipping to the doctor for my IVF. Mam seems to think IVF will be easy whereas my friend now realises it's a big and very stressful undertaking with no guarantees at the end of it. It was nice for her not to be so positive. I know that sounds strange but I'm trying to prepare myself in case the worst happens, I don't want to bury my head in the sand and hope everything will work out fine, because the reality is that it might not, and I want to be ready for that if it happens. She finally gets that so I feel better talking to her now. And I managed to talk about her pregnancy a little bit more than last time I saw her. She wants to know the sex, and if it's a girl they want to call her Kaitlin Rebecca. They're both convinced it's a girl.

Anyway, enough of my jabbering on, hope all you lovely ladies are ok

raspberrytipple · 25/11/2011 18:46

Congratulations mrsmamma!

sweetie how have you managed to only have two smears at 38! I've been having them since I was 18 and for three years got abnormal cells on each but only a small amount so had to go every six months for that time. Back to normal now though so feel used to being poked about although it's never nice.

How did you get on cave hope it was good news!!!

Feeling a little less freaked out after youve said about your examination, I'm not so bad if I know what to expect. First thing DH said was why didn't I ask while I was there but if im honest I was feeling a bit stressy by that point and thought I might cry. Well done on he cake front, the business sounds a great idea! Bet it would make a fair bit with competition around.

No news here, starting to feel AF building up, my boobs have been proper painful for about 11 days. I know I'm not pg because we had sex last on day 10 then both got ill and haven't bothered since. Just want this month over and done with so I can get charting :)

raspberrytipple · 25/11/2011 19:58

Sorry that middle bit was to Josie about the internal examination but forgot to write your name in!
