Jezzabell · 17/06/2011 19:10

Hello all

I'm new on here too so please be gentle with me! We are TTC for the first time. The past few days have been the first time we have not used any protection, funny getting used to it. I think I have a pretty good idea that we did it at the right time on wednesday, but another go today to make sure! Just wait a few weeks to see if it's worked now!

It's very exciting and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens!

I don't know what UCL and CD mean so if someone can tell me I'll happily give you my info.

Looking forward to hearing how you all get on x

CaveMum · 17/06/2011 19:44

Welcome to even more newbies!

To help all I'll post the acronyms:

CD - day of your current cycle
UCL - usual cycle length
ERTD - only used on this thread (a previous Frolicker came up with it) Evil Red Tide of Doom - your period

If ERTD seems a bit too much you can always use tried and teste AF (Aunt Flo)

Hope all your stays are very short, in the nicest possible way Wink

Thanks for the welcome CaveMum.
Jezzabell (34) TTC#1, CD14, UCL24-27, AF 29th June

Fingers crossed for this month. My Sis is 7 weeks pg and it happened first try, so let's hope it runs in the family. My bro's gf is also due in about 3 weeks and that was a total accident, so family signs are good!

Good luck all x

ChantingAsISpeak · 17/06/2011 20:21

Hi Late, I'll park my zimmer over here for a bit so I can rest - us advanced geriatrics need to take it easy Wink. Horrid term though. I'm planning to have a general check up with the doc and if I hear 'geriatric' being mentioned I think I'll nut them!

1sttimetryer · 17/06/2011 20:39

Thanks for explaining that cave, ive been trying to guess what it all means! Im new too jezzabel, no luck last cycle so keeping my fingers crossed this time, find it really hard having such irregular abd long cycles. Since ive been trying more than 15 ppl i no have announced their pregnant and ive found it really hard, waited 5 years to start trying wiv my hubby so really hope it doesnt take me too long. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone on this thread. Xxxxxx

susey · 17/06/2011 21:06

Cloclo15 · 17/06/2011 23:32

Evening everyone, nice to meet lots of new people.

I'm just wishing AF would start properly so I can officially begin cycle 8. Although this feels like a bit of a wasted cycle while I wait for my hospital appointment.

Have had a week from hell - got shut in a room, screamed at and grappled for mobile phone by one child, had another drop his trousers in a cover lesson where no work had been set, and today my entire back windscreen was smashed up when a kid threw a stone in the air and of all the cars in the car park it hit mine! Just can't believe it, I feel like I'm jinxed!

LateToTheTTCParty · 18/06/2011 06:27

Big. Fat. Positive.....!!!!!!

Have gone all shaky...

AuntieDoris · 18/06/2011 07:44

Congratulations Late that's brilliant!

Weimy looks like we have synchronised!

CaveMum · 18/06/2011 08:27

Late!!!!!!!

That's fantastic! What a start to the thread!

Thanks Tomboy for updating the list. 9 times out of 10 I'm posting via my phone so I can't do it!

1sttimetryer I don't know if thats irregular but mine is 33 days from the right tube and 36 from the left - weird but helpful to know!!! I was determined not to go down the route of temperature checking but found a really good idea on another thread. I keep a diary of "events", we have been trying for 6 months now but only started the diary 2 months ago. It's only a word style table with 4 columns (cycle day, date, actual symptoms eg cramp or change in mucus and other which covers stuff like nausea. The thing that makes this really good (for me) is that I can see my patterns. I now know that nausea is normal for me in the 4 days leading up to ovulation and not a 'sign' which i did in the first couple of months (me looking shamefaced)!!!!

After being on the pill for 8 years I have discovered all manner of weird and wonderful things about my cyle that I had forgotten. Keeping notes is helping me sort all that out. Plus in the event that we have to seek medical help I will have all that information to take with me.

Had a recent MC and Dr has said no trying until next month - totally gutted but pulling myself together!!! Only problem is I think my husband is away during next months best days and then he is out of the country for work for the 4 after that.......it's not easy all this TTC stuff!!!!

Well I hope everyone here is having relaxing thoughts and wishing you all the best with your baby making activities!!!!

Xxxx

Cloclo15 · 18/06/2011 09:29

Late, that's brilliant news, wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy :)

ChantingAsISpeak · 18/06/2011 09:33

Fantastic news Late - it seems that I am alone in the old lady corner now. I'll have to work hard to catch up Wink

InsomniaQueen · 18/06/2011 10:17

Oh forgot to give my stats - can I also join????? - (26) TTC #1 UCL 33/36 days

LateToTheTTCParty · 18/06/2011 10:49

Thanks for the messages ladies, it doesn't feel real... In fact, for the last couple of days and today I have had cramps just like AF ones so there's a bit of me still keeping an eye out for ERTD! very conscious that, whatever happens from here on, life isn't going to be the same, I mean this is pretty huge, but the weekly shop and the laundry still have to be done...all a bit surreal, maybe I'm over-thinking things a bit!

Chanting, let's hear it for the geriatrics! After all the fertility doom-&-gloom stories you hear about TTC after 35, I have conceived on cycle 6 which is not bad at all. Really hope you have a smooth journey yourself Wink

Cloclo15 · 18/06/2011 14:24

Right, AF has kicked in with full cramps today, so cycle 8 begins...

On my phone so can't update the stats

1sttimetryer · 18/06/2011 16:23

InsomniaQueen Sorry to hear about your m/c, must be upsetting to know you have to wait, i thought i heard on the news that now they encourage you to start trying right away as the m/c can cause you to be more fertile, i know a few people that struggled to have children and after they had a m/c they got pregnant straight away and had succesful pregnancies.
its interesting that different ovaries mean you have your period at different times, never really thought about it before and didnt know it happened!
I had very irregular periods before going on the pill and could have a period after a month or after 4months, it varied, i then went on the pill and then onto the inplant and back onto the pill, i had a bleed immediately after coming off the pill, then it was about 42/43 days and i had a period, i then started ttc and had to wait 48days til my next period so im hoping i might be very lucky and get pregnant on this cycle else i will be waiting a long long time, wish mine was every 28days cos thats not long to wait whereas 7weeks is forever, giving me a lot less chances each year to get pregnant.
Take care xxxx
