Italiangreyhound · 19/06/2011 17:23

Hi to all VERY busy today and tired after a night out so not time to name check all but Hippy Grin

I HAVE NOT read all of this but I Googled "Clomed continually taken or take a break"

AND I suggest you do read

answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080408150435AAWWjpY especially the answers from Chic and pip.

Good luck.

Lol decided about the holiday yet? It sounds like exdp has got it bad, he just needs to decide you are worth it all, help him along a bit with the odd whistful/wishful smile in his direction! Wink Good luck, I really do mean that!

hippychick66 · 19/06/2011 18:35

thanks bb - same to you, honey.

Many thanks italian that is very helpful. I know yahoo answer can sometimes throw up a few numpties but those people all seem to be pretty clued up. Grin

I am sorry Hippy I have been willing you on ..... Clomid aside moving house is an emotional rollercoaster I'd go with what you fancy .... and be good to yourself for a bit

hopefulgum · 20/06/2011 00:11

Oh Bugger Hippy, I'm sorry it didn't happen this month.

If you feel like taking a break from the Clomid, it sounds like it won't do any harm.

Beattie I know you have some concerns about thin lining ( I did too) and I read this on another over 40's thread I am on at "Mothering". I thought you might be interested:

" I too have heard that Clomid can be good for egg quality, although I don't know how or why. I asked my RE about Clomid and he said it wouldn't do anything for me because I'm already ovulating every month. Apparently it promotes the induction of just one egg, not multiples like some of the injectable drugs to. I also know that it can dry up EWCF and thin uterine lining. So, I'm a little freaked out by it. But the egg quality thing is definitely intriguing!"

Personally, I think Clomid can work differently for different women. I do like the sounds of it improving egg quality.

I'm back from my knitting sleep-over and it was fabulous. It might sound like the stuff of old ladies, but it really wasn't. There were 5 women, the eldest is me - my friend Kris is 42 and has just had a little baby boy, the other three were in their 30's. Anyway, we did knit, they all drank wine, and we talked and laughed so much. It was really good for the soul. I didn't feel much sickness at all, but I think that is because when I wasn't talking or laughing I was eating! Came home and felt really sick last night, which was a huge relief!

I'm seeing my Dr today. It helps to have some sort of routine/program with this pregnancy. It somehow helps with the anxiety.

Italian - do you have any idea when your eggs will be ready for you? You have been so patient. I hope it is soon.

I hope everyone else is doing well. When is your scan Deige? Is it today???

AngelGeorgie · 20/06/2011 08:05

Quick post; at folks house need to set off to make out consultant appt at 12!! Will check in later but good luck Diege.
sorry hippy and BB xxx

BeattieBow · 20/06/2011 09:25

not sure what's happening with me. did a test yesterday - faint bfp! Did a test today, nada.

So am still taking the progesterone (14dpo) - was meant to take them until today and then test. Will probably test tomorrow.

What is the most sensitive test on the high street? I think the test I did on sunday was a FR, and this morning's just tesco/sainsbury's. I don't want to stop taking the progesterone if I am pg and then cause a mc by the sudden stopping of progesterone, but I also am worried that the progesterone is just delaying my period (although last time I took it, it started anyway). Also temp was up again yesterday.

Sorry about the me me me post. aside from that ds2 has been ill and I have had no sleep all w/e - feeling very emotional today!

Diege · 20/06/2011 09:34

Morning! Ah bugger it Hippy Sad. I am assuming af has arrived? Not sure what to advise re: clomid for next month; I know with a lot of meds they build up in your system., but don't think this is the same for clomid?
BB hmmm very interesting...it looks like the preg test this morning wasn;t as sensitive as yesterdays, but is a tentaive congrats in order?? HIgh temps are reassuring too.
Gum I also love knitting, though haven't done much for a year or so. Dd2 got out my wool bag yesterday to make a pom pom and saw a half finished item there. I have some lovely duck egg blue Debbie Bliss wool that I may try and make into a blanket of some sort if I can get myself back into it. What did the knitting on your sleep-over look like after the wine? Wink
Lou Good luck with the consultant today; at least you have your scan out of the way! Mine is at 11am today, and will report back asap, though may be later on this afternoon. I am very anxious, have been sick badly this morning and have fantasies of doing a runner before my name is called..
Love to all! I'll be looking out for that 'copter!

BeattieBow · 20/06/2011 09:41

oh I don't know diege. Yesterday's was faint, and not sure if temps are being helped along with the progesterone. I don't dare stop taking it though!
Good luck with the scan today - are you planning to find out the sex?

Diege · 20/06/2011 09:52

Hi BB, yes planning to find out if the baby and sonographer will oblige (depends who you get). Meant to say, if I were you I'd carry on taking the progesterone, though if I were to get a bfn tomorrow I may review...it's a tough call!

BeattieBow · 20/06/2011 10:30

How exciting - remind me what you have already?

Yes I'll take prog today and test again tomorrow. It isn't doing any harm, and I'm not particularly in a rush to get to the next cycle yet - like hippy we are in the process of moving, and am either so exhausted or so angry with dh that I'm sure swi will be the last thing on either of our minds.

Diege · 20/06/2011 12:57

Back from scan and all looking good Grin. Measuring 20 + 1 which is inbetween my dates of 19 +6 and their dates of 20 + 3. This is the first 20 week scan when the sonographer has declared that 'everything looks fine, so mightily relieved. I was a bit of a state and lay there with my hand over my eyes Blush and was just willing her (silently!) to get it over and done with. I'm sure she's put up with worse though..I have posted a piccy on my profile with baby's leg right over its body.
I did ask the sex and wow psychic hippy is correct once again - it's a boy!!! (very clear to see). BB I have 3 girls and a boy, boy just 2, so very pleased in the sense that ds will have a brother. Really happy, surprised and pleased!!! Celebrating with wimbledon and some choccy!

Curlylox · 20/06/2011 14:29

Oh wow, fantastic news am so pleased for you. Mmm see what you mean about those legs. Future athlete perhaps Grin By the way how cute you all are.

Curlylox · 20/06/2011 14:31

Sorry got to run as at work have loads to do but far far too tired to get stuck in will explain later.

hippychick66 · 20/06/2011 17:42

diege - I am so pleased all went well - and am slightly shocked at just how well I did at the predictions re: you having a boy and Lou a girl - I'm rather impressed with myself Grin Brilliant pic of diege-boy-bean.

Bb how exciting - i thought it was all over for you too. I think you should re-test with a first response and defo keep up the progesterone until you are sure you are defo not preg. I think it sounds like you could be though Smile The progesterone can't give you a faint positive can it - so somehting made that second line appear.

I think i've decided to have a month off the clomid this month and then use the second lot next month when we've moved.

My Af is defo here - although it is taking it's time kicking in properly - still at the spotty brown stage - charming. My cycle looks so fab on paper. Ov'd exactly day 14, LP exactly 14 days - temps high for LP - on paper I look bleedin' marvellous!

OP posts:
TTTonTour · 20/06/2011 17:50

Fantastic Diege love the pic - glad you got the boy you wanted - and so glad no one flagged any problems! looking at your pics reminded me how many children you've got - OMG, you are going to have 5 kids... I know that Gum is supermum too... but I'm used to seeing her brood on her blog...

{{ Hippy }} So sorry lovie- was really hoping this would be your month.

(hands the baton to BB ) It's all down to you now - fingers x-ed

Lou hope your apointment went ok?

Someone was asking when my induction date is - not sure where that came from - but we're not planning an induction at all... C came 12 days late, so have psyched myself up for a late baby. Finish work on Friday at 38 plus 2 - it's just a race against time now as to whether I will go barmy first or go into labour - maybe both simultaneously...

Funny to think that by now you'd have an outside baby Lou - can totally see why you'd want to go down that route - but hospitals still freak me out a bit - so hoping I can avoid going near one...

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

Italiangreyhound · 20/06/2011 20:04

Tank So sorry that you had to have dear Catherine's birthday without her. I am thinking of you, all the best, hope all will go well with the birth.

Lou all the best to you too, thinking of you.

Diege whoop, getting there, so what is your family composition, four, is it all girls or half and half or what? Sorry if you have already told us!

Gum Hope all is well. Thanks for asking about our golden eggs! They will just call us when they find a donor. It has been almost a year wait. Part of me wishes we had gone to Spain and it was all over and done with by now. But we did not, so we are just waiting. Thanks for saying I am patient, I don't feel it.

Did anyone watch the USA version of One born every minute? It was totally different to UK one!

BeattieBow · 20/06/2011 20:28

Tank I can't believe you are 38 weeks now. Blimey. Fingers and everything crossed for you that you get a lovely short homebirth.

diege congratulations on your scan and a boy! If I get pg again I part of me would like a boy too as ds2 is the youngest and sort of on his own. But a girl would be nice too...

Have sent dh out for some first responses. Will try to wait until the morning.

In other news here ds2 has scarlet fever, dd3 threw up at school today and is exhibiting symptoms and dd2 feels a bit rubbish too apparently. oh and the au pair leaves tomorrow after giving us a whole 6 days notice. (and by the way we are meant to be vacating our house on Saturday too). I am mainlining chocolate and thinking about a nervous breakdown...

AngelGeorgie · 20/06/2011 21:27

Oh BB how exciting. I ve got my fingers crossed for you. I bet you re on tenter hooks!!! X
Hippy sorry AF got you Sad you ll be so busy moving next month it wil fly by!!! You know the old saying " new house new baby" hope the move is coming together. X
Diege fabulous news Grin so glad all was good. Congrats on your new little boy x
Hi TTT hope you re ok? Wow 38 weeks that's great. Don t quite get what you mean by " an outside baby"? Do you think you ll go over again then? Sorry , how many days did u say Catherine was late by?
Are you getting excited at all ??? Thinking of you x
Curly how goes it?

Hi all; very hard weekend the SANDS service was beautiful many people there about 500. Lots of kids, which was lovely , many older people with no kids, many upset people,Service was lovely nor religious just different experiences in the form of readings and songs. The SANDS garden is a lovely , peaceful, serene place. We planted 2 stones in Georgie' s name. Mmm .... Draining.Sad

hippychick66 · 20/06/2011 21:28

BB ShockShockShock - your life is too hectic for me _ i'm off for an early night. Send Hippy love to all the kiddies who don't feel well and wait until FMU to do another test (thats first morning urine!)

OP posts:
lolfactor · 20/06/2011 22:14

Oh Diege what a gorgeous bean!!! See what you mean about the legs. Wow. I'm so relieved it's all ok and he looks perfect. Is that you in the later pictures looking about 25?

BB fx that it was the wrong sort of wee today. Hope it's good news soon.

Hippy Sad. Quite understand why you would want to wait. That dr might only let you have 3 months' supply EVER. And you've still got time.

Gum that knitting party just sounds like an excuse to drink. It's got to be a good thing.

For those of you following the sadbastard saga, exdp has accidentally come into my classroom at a) break b) lunch c) tea d) before leaving drinks. Seeing as I teach in the muggle equivalent of Hagrid's Cottage (off the beaten track in a bungalow on the edge of the school grounds), something tells me he's a bit lonely Grin

lolfactor · 20/06/2011 22:17

btw, big hug for Lou plus some restorative smoothies and a foot massage. Sounds like the weekend was full on. Glad you've got through it.

AngelGeorgie · 20/06/2011 22:27

Thanks LOL your stories are a form
Of therapy for me!!! Thanks for that!!!! Wink

hopefulgum · 21/06/2011 00:57

Oh boy - so much going on!

Firstly a great big congratulations Deige on your healthy wee boy! How lovely for your family. Now you'll be thinking of names, or do you have that sorted already?

BB I'm feeling tentatively excited for you. FR is more sensitive than other brands. I hope you get a more obvious line soon. And I'm sorry to hear your Au Pair is useless and leaving you. What a pain - and your kids being sick. Do you have any family nearby? It sure it would be helpful to have some support during your move.
Can't wait to hear about the next test. I have heard that you can kind of have surges of HCG early on, and sometimes catch it early, then not for a couple of days. That could be complete bollocks that someone made up, but I do like the sounds of it....Confused

Lou, that weekend sounds very sad, but I'm guessing it would also be very beautiful. (((HUGS)))

Hippy - would you mind using your psychic powers on me? Will it be a boy or a girl this time?

Curly - you said you are very, very tired - is that a hint that you may be pregnant????

Tank - I can't believe you are so close to delivering your little one. I can't wait to meet Fidget!

Italian - a year is a long wait. I do hope it happens for you soon.

Lou, methinks that ex-bf can't live without you. Perhaps it is about time he apologized for being a complete twat, pledge his undying love to you, and impregnate you with Supa- sperm???Grin Or he can just Piss off - it depends on what you'd like....

Well, I saw my lovely Dr yesterday. All my blood tests were good, though she's put me on Vit D. Apparently many of us are deficient, and in pregnancy it can make a difference with calcium levels and prem-labour . Since I have a very irritable uterus and have had threatened prem labours, I'm glad to be taking it. She's arranged for me to have my 12 week scan with a specialist (I think you call them Consultants) in Perth (capital city here), this specialist can give me my nuchal+blood results there and then, and can also do further testing straight away if we want it. It sounds good, but I'm also terrified. I still have to make it that far, and fresh in the back of my mind is that I lost the baby at this stage last time. I just need to hang in there....At least I'm feeling more pregnant than last time - I think some of my symptoms were tailing off around 9 weeks and I just thought it was because I was lucky, and was nearing 12 weeks. I'll keep repeating the mantra : For now I am pregnant...Smile

Well I tested this am with a digital test and ... 1-2 weeks pregnant!!

Am flabbergasted, and I know it could all go wrong, but for now etc etc.

(also used a tesco cheapie and nothing there so glad I did the other one or I would have stopped the progesterone which I am now on until 12 weeks)
