Anyone want to join me at the start of another 2 ww?

I am due on around the 11th/12th of May. This is our 4th cycle of TTC number 2, after a MC last Jan, and our 2nd cycle using a Clear Blue Fertility Monitor to keep track of things. We managed to DTD 5 times (a record for us!) in the days just before and while I was (hopefully) ovulating, so I have (despite my best efforts) got my hopes up that this month will be the month.

Anyone else out there got 2 weeks of waiting and symptom-checking looming and want some company?

I'll keep you company for the rest of the week at least. Friday is D-day for me...

ShimmeryPixie · 26/04/2011 14:00

I have also got my hopes up. We DTD every day from day 9 to 14 (and I ov'd on 13). I also have very very very achey breasts (which I have spent too much time trying to work out if it is normal PMS-y symptoms, too much exercise, or a symptom).

ElmMum · 26/04/2011 14:04

Hi Shimmery... thanks for joining me! Friday isn't too long to wait, although I find the symptom-checking goes up a gear the closer you get to D-Day.

The boob thing is really annoying. Last month I had proper twingey boobs which convinced me I must be pregnant, but no, just PMS. I never noticed twingey PMS boobs before, of course...

I'll join in if that's ok? I'm due 9th May. According to a cb digi opk I ovulated on Sunday. I was very excited because this seems to bs my first proper cycle since a mc in Feb. We dtd most days leading up to Sun plus yesterday (not easy considering I work nights, we spent the we at my parents and we've got a 3 yo dd!). We've been trying since June. Good luck ladies! Let the ridiculous symptom spotting begin!

eurochick · 26/04/2011 15:17

Me three!

I'm having an odd month but I think I am ovulating around now.

As I posted on another thread, I usually have a positive on an opk for one day, followed by ov pain (always on my right side), followed (for the time I have been temping) by a temp rise. I started acupuncture two weeks ago and she thought from my charts I was oving but wanted to boost my ovulation and luteal phase. I have just had a 3 day long LH surge CDs 15/16/17. I am now having what feels like ov pain on both sides and it is CD19. No temp rise yet but maybe tomorrow.

Past month I have always got my period 13 days after my positive OPK, which would put me to 5-7 May but this month who knows! Acupuncture certainly seems to be doing something. I am just not sure what yet!

DreamingOfABump · 26/04/2011 15:34

Hi i.ll join you. This is my first ever wait. Feeling surprisingly ambivalent about it as don.t reall know when i ovulating this month and feel normal so i feel like its too normal for me. To be pregnant- like i would notice some uterus related symptoms or something. Maybe i.o not trying hard ennui with the symptom spotting! Must poke boobs or something! X

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 26/04/2011 16:14

4th of May here! I use fertility friend and it thinks I ov'd on CD12 (which I'm not all that convinced about) anyhoo, if that is the case, then we managed to SWI on CD9 & CD11 only - so we're still in with a chance.

No symptoms to report though! :(

My 4th cycle since a MC in Jan too. Although TTC#1 for oooooooohhhh 4 YEARS!!

LivingDeadGirl · 26/04/2011 17:10

Count me in. Not too hopeful though. Both me and DH picked up a stomach bug from the nephew so only managed to DTD on days 12, 15 and 16 :-(

ElmMum · 26/04/2011 20:02

Welcome all! Nice to have some company...

Today's smallest symptom that probably means nothing... a pain, like a pulled muscle, low in my abdomen on the right side. Made me realise how clueless I am about what actually happens after ovulation. Could this have been ov pain or implantation??

I need to google what exactly happens when. Dur...

And it is too early to have swollen boobs, right?

OP posts:
mopey · 26/04/2011 21:41

Hello - can I join too - think I am ovulating in next few days following a mc in March so first month of trying again after that - will be SWI'ing over next few days!

ElmMum · 26/04/2011 21:48

Good luck, mopey. Keep us posted of post SWI-ing symptoms!

OP posts:
ElmMum · 27/04/2011 12:18

Today's symptom... I'm really narky but surely I can't have PMS already? Nearly 3-year-old DD is playing up but I'm not sure if that's making me narky or because I'm narky. Whatever, the thought of PMS is making me even more grumpy. Hey ho.

How are you all?

OP posts:
ShimmeryPixie · 27/04/2011 12:22

I've still got the tenderness going on. I've just been on FF and worked out that tomorrow is actually D-day for me, not Friday (it does help if I learn to count including day 1) so wish me luck...

ElmMum · 27/04/2011 12:57

Hey, good luck.

I feel distinctly period-y today but I'm still days and days away from actually being due on, so it's either my imagination or implantation or body getting ready for period. Be good if I could just forget about it for a while.

hairylights · 27/04/2011 12:58

I'll join you - I'm on CD 16 today, using a CBFM, did the deed a lot running up to my 'peak' and on my 'peak' day. Miscarried in Feb, last November and last June.

meliesmummy · 27/04/2011 13:07

Hi hairy! I'm day 17 so I'll be doing the shall I shan't I test thing around the same time as you! I'm half optimistic (dtd on the right days, had a course of reflexology, taking flax seed oil which massively increased my cm) half pessimistic (it took 8 cycles last time so why should this month be any different, I've had stupidly short cycles since the mc so I could come on on Friday for all I know!). I hate waiting!

hairylights · 27/04/2011 13:15

I'm linking arms with you meliesmummy in a virtual way Grin

this month is my first month back trying and I haven't had any reflexology or acupuncture (which I have done in the past). I did take evening primrose oil for ovulation range (this month the rage didn't happen - and I didn't get any spots either!).

I'm lucky in that I have regular cycles.

I am really going to try to hold out on the testing until AF is due and (I hope) late - I've driven myself crazy with early testing in the past.

eurochick · 27/04/2011 14:39

Well I thought I was ovulation yeseterday because that is when I had the most intense ov pains, but this morning FertilityFriend stuck me at 3DPO! I am actualy wondering if I ovulated twice this month as I have had ov pain on more than one day (v. unusual) on my left side as well as my right (v. unusual) and 3 days of OPK positives (v. unusual).

I had my third acupuncture session this morning with a different therapist as mine is on holiday this week. This one seemed less sure of himself (but then he was picking up someone else's patient).

I am conducting a little experiment this month. So far I have refused to let myself test until my period is late (and it has not been). However, most but not all months since I started TTC I have had a few days of dizziness/nausea during the 2ww. I NEVER get that normally. I had been wondering if I was managing to get sperm to meet egg, but somehow they were not sticking around for long. My acupuncturist thinks something like that might be happening. So this month I have ordered some ultra sensitive tests and I am going to test regularly throughout the 2ww to see if I do get a positive result followed by a negative.

ElmMum · 27/04/2011 14:58

eurochick it will be interesting to see what you find out with your experiment. Do you think the acupuncture has made you ov more than once?

My first month of TTC my period was 2 days late and very very heavy and I'd had swollen boobs etc so I'm (almost) convinced that sperm met egg and something got started, but then didn't stick.

The last two cycles have been nada on the symptom front but annoyingly, one was a day late and I had horrible nausea which made me think maybe, so I tested and get a BFN. Period arrived next day. The nausea was a stomach bug.

So this month I AM NOT GOING TO TEST UNTIL MY PERIOD IS LATE (if it is late). I will be repeating this mantra to myself even as I prod boobs and convince myself that I should test early just to make sure either way.

Let the madness commence...

ElmMum · 27/04/2011 14:59

hairy and meliesmummy I'm on day 18, so will be (not) testing around the same time as you... fingers crossed!

OP posts:
ShimmeryPixie · 27/04/2011 15:02

eurochick - I'm planning on doing that if I get nothing this time. At least then I would know that something was happening!

eurochick · 27/04/2011 15:07

Each of the first 3 cycles of what I call concerted efforts (i.e. trying to time it right - we had given up contraception quite a while before) I got soem symptoms in the 2ww. Mostly the spaceyness/dizziness. So I decided I was probably imagining it. And then last cycle I got no dizziness at all. So I thought maybe I am not imagining it after all. And interestingly (well, I think it's interesting!) although we had times swi well, my hubby had had food poisoning and been violently throwing up for the two days before, so I suspect his swimmers were a bit weakened by that! Hence the experiment this time round.

blueeyedmonster · 27/04/2011 20:14

I'll join you in the 2ww. I'm due around the 9th and i'm on cycle 1 of ttc #2.

I am going to try my hardest to not drive myself mad this time by symptom spotting. I bet I last about 4 days.

Gah I hate the 2ww it's so hard. Does it drive anyone else mad too?

DreamingOfABump · 27/04/2011 20:33

well im now getting my first taste of the 2ww. yesterday though i was completely symptomless and boring, but today realised ive had two episode of going bit dizzy and blurry eyed while looking at the pc, just a bit swimmy. hoping its a sign of something more than just my mumsnet addiction! X

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 27/04/2011 20:49

hmmm, I may actually only be 4DPO after all, not 7DPO Confused.

CD19 though now - thats for sure!
