cep · 12/04/2011 18:20

yay banana for great scan

wombat glad everything is ok.

not too worried that she couldn't get the hb. but i have just noticed on my notes when talking about the nuchal scan she's got the risk as high, but she didn't say so. i'm 32 would that be a high risk?? or cause i'm overweight?

owlbooty · 12/04/2011 18:29

Hoorah for the good scan news!

cep it's probably because you are 32 which will give you a unadjusted risk of something in the hundreds rather than the thousands (mine was 1:282 I think at age 34?). However this is a right load of bollocks as the adjusted risk can come back miles either way. I would really not worry about it; only the scan and bloods can decide what type of risk you really are. Yes, I spent far too much time researching this on Dr Google Grin

And following on from that, still got fingers all crossed for Knits .

Mamap that looks FAB - well done getting it all set up, no wonder you've been quiet! If it wasn't miles away from me I'd be right over for a large sunday roast - YUM.

katherine2008 · 12/04/2011 19:40

Splendid news Wombat and Banana, really lovely to hear Grin

FX mummya will be staying up late to wait for news

knitter really hope you hear tomorrow

tunnocks hope you're feeling better

MummyAbroad · 12/04/2011 20:34

2 hours to go till my scan. Just got some blood results back and see that I am not anemic (sp?), iron levels are 13.6- not bad for a vegetarian! Amazing that I could feel this knackered and not be iron deficient though.

tiggersreturn · 12/04/2011 21:01

Mummy wishing you much luck and a good scan. Have you got someone going with you?

Knitter hope your wait is over soon.

KnitterNotTwitter · 12/04/2011 21:11

banana and wombat lovely scan news

cep trust me they don't know the Nuchal risk thingie without the Nuchal fold test and bloods... have read a LOT about this in the last few days... I'm down as mild risk for overweight but that isn't an anomaly risk - it's an Elf and Safety risk for the MW's I think!!

MamaP restaurant looks fab... I've got nothing on at the moment so I might pop down... :) or maybe I'll save it for when I've got some good news....

MummyA glad your blood is nice and iron-y :)

Still no news here - going very mental now... Will phone and chase again tomorrow lunchtime if I haven't heard anything....

MummyAbroad · 12/04/2011 21:24

tigger thanks, I am going with DS! I am going back to my bargain £16 quid place round the corner from my house. I did the last one on my own and it was OK. If its bad news, I am only 2 mins from home so will just run home and have a cry. (how sad that I have thought about this!)

anyway.... knitter cant believe it! So sorry you are still waiting Sad

mamap wish I could come and see it! It looks fab. When I win the lottery I will fly back to England just to come check it out Grin

cep I know nothing about how to interpret midwife notes, could never understand mine. I am sure that they would spell it out to you very clearly if it was really a cause for concern. xx

Yay for wombatbean being ok.

tunnocks can't believe you've gone all coy on us!! It's Simon Cowell isn't it?! Grin

mamap the restaurant and bar look amazing, well done you, I hope it's going smashingly, if I'm ever down that way I'd love to visit!

knitter so sorry you're still waiting on news. It must be agonising.

lara are you just holidaying in Dubai or as a stop off. We stopped off last year for a few days. Was lovely but SO hot! wiw don't know how you work out there! I LOVED wild wadai though!! lara you must go as it has the worlds best rapids!!

Nightynight all x

Wombat33 · 12/04/2011 22:26

lurking for news from mummya...

MummyAbroad · 12/04/2011 23:08

Good news from me Grin Heartbeat perfect, dates perfect, baby did a somersault and a wave. DS had a front row seat and loved watching it all (sonographer's idea, I was a bit worried about this, but it turned out alright!) DS then asked if we could open up my tummy so he could see the baby better HmmGrin

I have a posterior placenta implanted in the fudus (dodgey area) so there is still potential for worry about accreta, but I feel the real mc threat is past. Grin Grin Grin

Thanks for all your wonderful support - I think its going to take a little while for this news to sink in properly but it already feels good.

right go and get some sleep girls!!

Hooray for lovely news from banana, wombat and mummya today! Sleep tight everyone and fx for knitter tomorrow - thinking of you.

wombatinwaiting · 13/04/2011 05:57

What a bunch of lovely news to see first thing! Very pleased indeed for mummya (I think your DS is a surgeon in waiting Grin ), banana (is the sickness any better?) and fellow marsupial wombat. Out of interest, how did they diagnose SPD so early?

I'm still thinking of knitter lots - your patience and stoicism is admirable. FX you will get your news today and it will be good.

How are the eyebags and sickness today collie? Wild Wadi is indeed great and believe it or not Aquaventure at the Atlantis hotel is possibly even better. Not sure that LaraMi will be doing the 30 feet high Jumeirah scarer though with bean on board Grin. LaraMi - Grosvenor House is v nice if you do have to do the work trip and Mina Seyahi perfect for a relaxing beach holding - great beach bar there too.... (not that I have an intimate knowledge of all the watering holes or anything Blush ). It is indeed VERY hot in June so highly recommend shaded pool lounging and shopping in the air conditioned malls - all for bean's sake you understand.... Grin

Have been having a wibble over the last couple of days about lack of nausea so is there anyone with a haddock handy? I think it's leading up to Sunday's scan and anxiety there will be nothing there....

wombatinwaiting · 13/04/2011 05:58

By the way - loving No. 75 mamap - home in the UK is Surrey for me so not too far away for the next trip back in June or July.... positively drooling over the thought of your weekend brunches.....

wombatinwaiting · 13/04/2011 05:59

And blackkat - hope your dad and the rest of your family are doing ok x

OrangeGloss · 13/04/2011 06:20

Whoop for Mummya Grin I agree you have a surgeon in waiting, and now possibly a gymnast :)

now repeat, symptoms come and go...

Knitter I admire your patience, I hope you get good news today. I'd definitely chase em up it's been long enough (too long) for them to understand that you need to know

Someone asked about my exam, it's a purchasing/finance/legal type thing for work, very [yawn] but last of the set so hope I pass can then forget about it
