Newly pregnant after miscarriage? Here is a nice place to hang out and swap symptoms and worries until you are brave enough to sign up to the grads thread.

wombatinwaiting · 12/04/2011 11:39

Fingers crossed for you fellow wombat. Thinking of banana and knitter lots today too.

Thanks so much for all the fascinating info mummya - makes a lot of sense about the softness foods vs the making you want to go foods. I'm stocking up on flora-friendly food as we speak..... I live in Dubai so you can get pretty much anything here (other than proper vanilla essence and amaretto biscuits due to alcohol content Smile )

LaraMi - let me know if you can't get out of your Dubai work-trip - we could meet up here Grin

tiggersreturn · 12/04/2011 11:46

Wombat - I ended up at Royal London when pg with ds after faintness and breathlessness on tube. Made the mistake of calling nhs direct who were convinced it was a heart attack. I was less convinced and refused the red light option but did get taken by work in a taxi. It of course turned out to be........ indigestion. Very embarrassing.

I never got near the labour ward although they kept on trying to send me there instead of A&E. Guys and Tommy's sound better and I work round the corner from there now.

Felt awful in a different way this morning and have succumbed, called st mary's and managed to get an appt for tomorrow am.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 12/04/2011 11:53

wombat hope all is ok x

tigger glad you have the earlier appointment sorted

You lot are hardcore campers!! Well, at least I feel justified in my hitherto lack of concern. Mind you, yrmotb ...

LaraMi · 12/04/2011 11:58

Wombatinwaiting - you live in Dubai? . I am actually also going there in June on hol with DH. Of course I hope to be wayyy too ill to go there with work in May but aim to be absolutely fine to go there on hol in June... Will be at Grosvenor House if I go in May and Meridien Mina Seyahi in June.

Oops - hadn't noticed there were two *Wombats" - v embarrassing...

Can I ask a gross question... is lots of yellow discharge normal in early pg? It's not offensive in any way, just quite a lot of it.... Apologies to anyone eating their lunch...

MummyAbroad · 12/04/2011 14:38

Hi ladies,

thanks for all the good luck wishes, I am feeling quite nervous now I think for me this is the "safe zone" scan, as the baby died right around the time when the placenta took over last time. I feel 50/50 confident/scared. Unlike many people on here, I know what caused my mc. Scar tissue in the fundus of the uterus prevented the placenta from attaching properly. I am confident because I know that I went to the best possible surgeon and had it removed and had tests to prove it, but also nervous because the embryo is implanted in the exact same position in the fundus and so may have implanted on damaged basal layer of the endometrium. (greater risk of mc/placenta accreta)

I am getting scanned in the afternoon, so due to time zone differences you will probably log on tomorrow and see the news. (or late at night, but I think all of us are in bed by 8.30pm these days!)

banana good luck to you too. Hope you keeping your cool better than me.

wombat good luck at the hospital, hope they give you lots of reassurance.

wombatinwaiting Shock at vanilla essence!I guess you havent had any problems explaining why you are not drinking at the moment Smile

knitter praying that you get good news today. xxx

LaraMi totally normal, good symptom in fact.

collie huge sympathies for the sickness. I know exactly how you feel (though thankfully not at this minute, my symptoms have eased massively) Just take it one day (or one meal!) at a time. Have you asked your GP about anit nausea/anti sickness meds?

campers beware of needing to pee all the time! By 6 months I found it really hard to hold in wee for longer than about 45mins! If I went camping (unlikey Grin), I would would take one of DS's potties with me!
I went on beach trips quite a few times in the 2nd trimester with DS, it was loads of fun but I scared all the locals by cycling around everywhere - pregnant women arent supposed to cycle in Costa Rica apparently! If you go on holiday while you are pregnant you will have lots of lovely memories for a long time after, go for it!

MummyA - I am sure everyone will agree with me that I love reading your posts soooo much! It's so refreshing to read your wise words and so comforting when you come on line.

Let us send some comforting words your way too this time. You will be fine, am sure. I am sure you received the best medical care and that everything has been resolved so that the same experience will not repeat itself. Please let us know how it goes and I am thinking of you.

Thanks too for the reassurance re the yellow "stuff"! After I wrote it, a whole hour passed before anyone else came on line so I feared I'd scared everyone off MN!

Good luck MummyA and Knitter - thinking of you both xxxx

cep · 12/04/2011 15:00

afternoon ladies.

knitter fingers still x'd.

mummya goodluck for your scan.

mw tried the doppler but no suprises couldn't hear anything, so will just have to wait for scan and hope that i get it sooner rather than later.

katherine2008 · 12/04/2011 15:02

how are you doing wombat? - hope all is ok x

Wombat33 · 12/04/2011 15:19

Still at the hospital! Bleeding not got worse but I'm waiting to see someone more senior. Some talk of admitting me but I'd be suprised if they do that. They have also diagnosed early onset SPD (unrelated to the bleeding)!

LaraMi · 12/04/2011 15:23

Glad they're taking care of you, Wombat - better that they are over-vigilant... Good luck..

MummyAbroad · 12/04/2011 15:27

Thanks Lara, you just made me go a bit teary! Didnt realise my witterings were that much appreciated! SmileThank you for your kind words too. I am going to repeat your phrase while I am waiting to go in " I received the best medical care and everything has been resolved"

cep a gentle squeeze for you. Shame that the doppler didnt work this time, it IS famously fickle at your stage. Was the midwife able to offer any reassurance about other things? Everything else alright?

Emoo · 12/04/2011 15:41

cep - if it's of some reassurance to you, when I saw the MW recently (at 14ish weeks) I asked her to listen in, and she agreed but did a great long disclaimer beforehand about how it's very difficult to find the heartbeat at that gestation, and I wasn't to worry if she couldn't.

wombat - sound like they are being thorough - hope you have a good book/magazine with you while you wait.

mummya please do post even if it's the middle of the night for us! I'm starting to get over the worst of the tiredness now, and might just look in later on.

banana87 · 12/04/2011 15:55

Hi ladies,

Scan all good, bean measuring 9.4mm- 7 weeks gestation. Relieved.

Phone playing up so will log on in a bit.

((hugs)) for mummya I am sure your scan will be fine and you won't have a repeat of last time. Good luck. And OF COURSE we love and listen to your heart felt advice, I for one would have been lost without you on the mc thread when I joined, not to mention all your lovely reassurances on here. That goes for everyone if fact..... Grin

cep sorry you didn't get to hear the hb, I hope it's not worried you even more and everyone here has reassured you enough that it's quite usual. Fx you get a scan date soon.

banana that's grrr8 news!!! Smile So happy for you!

wombat glad they are taking good care of you but hope you get home soon.

tunnocks bother in music?! in LA no less!! Whooooo! Sounds interesting, tell more?!

Thanks mummya for the sickness sympathy. So rough this morning, couldn't even keep my banana down. Just couldnt face lunch and was all set to go and work at home after my meeting at 2 but by 3 I'd perked up and even managed to eat a snack pack of bread sticks and hummous.

Watching the clock till 5pm. I'm shattered, and I have a pouch on my eye!! Sad I promise to whinge less tomorrow! Smile

OrangeGloss · 12/04/2011 17:05

Wombat glad you're getting well looked after

Cep the MW had trouble finding HB at 18 weeks for me and was only reassuring while I waiting cos I felt it jumping away from the Doppler and kick her! It might have just been lurking a bit out of reach

Banana congrats on the scan! :)

Mummya I agree with Lara you're always so supportive and helpful. Yours and others comments have gotten me through some very dark times this year especially. Please do post, I stayed up til all of 9.30 last night :)

Lara I've had all kinds of yellow and various consistencies and quantities Blush

OrangeGloss · 12/04/2011 17:07

Didn't someone mention eggs? I had eggs for lunch, washed down with mandatory Ribena. Do you think Ribena know that so many pg women are addicted to it?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 12/04/2011 17:11

mummya I can understand your nerves at this one - god knows I'm sure I'd be the same before my "safe zone" scan, I guess it really feels "make or break". However, you know you have had the very best care and treatment for the AS and no problems this far - fx all goes smoothly today and just think what a huge weight off it will be afterwards. I'll be thinking of you so please do post when you've been; I have to confess to falling asleep at ridiculous o'clock most evenings at the minute, but am struggling with insomnia in the early hours so will keep checking in when I get chance. It will be lovely to see you past the danger point Smile

wombat sounds like things are calming down and you're being well looked after. Fx you get the reassurance you need soon x

cep don't worry about Doppler if you can help it; our mw here won't listen until 16 weeks, and in some areas I believe it's even later, because you're just not guaranteed to find the hb earlier.

banana yay for great scan!! Does that match your list dates or have you moved up slightly?

Sorry to all those feeling rubbish Sad

Wombat33 · 12/04/2011 17:11
Grin

I.ve been discharged. No explanation for the bleeding and no scan this time but we heard the hb Smile
phone playing up so will post more later. Hugs to all and good luck mummya!
