Newly pregnant after miscarriage? Here is a nice place to hang out and swap symptoms and worries until you are brave enough to sign up to the grads thread.

Here is a link to the old thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1165866-Freak-out-room-for-those-newly-updiffed-after-MC-to-hold-hands-and-support-each-other-Part-III/AllOnOnePage#24507574

Tunnock - if the sin bin has iced buns, I'll go there with you!

Collie and Cep - I too feel exactly the same. I am terrified. But think how low the chance of MC is at your stage and then calculate how low the risk is of it happening twice. Stop looking at the MC threads. A day at a time... You've made it this far and there's no reason why it won't go all the way

LaraMi · 11/04/2011 15:56

Booty - you're full of wise words and just general wisdom!

Collie2 · 11/04/2011 16:07

Grin at owl actually made me lol! I would love to stick prawns up my MIL sometimes Shock I know I know, stay off the mc threads, its such a sad place.

lara i know i should listen to the stats, but i really don't feel reassured by them yet. Listening to the comments about the doppler so early on i am thinking i will prob go for a 10wk scan if i get that far. There is no way i can go away without telling my friends, and no way i can take the risk of going without knowing all is ok, just in case awful things happen while i'm there. How will i get through the next 3 weeks though???? I can't believe my scan was only a week ago and I need another fix already!

pleeassse can i come to the sin bin/iced bun heaven too?? Grin I still haven't put on any weight despite eating lots more than usual which can only be a sign that I must try harder Grin

lara great news on the scan.

symptomless ladies I have almost every symptom except ms (and Dachs yes nosebleeds are a symptom) and I'm still worrying about everything every minute of the day so they are of no reassurance whatsoever!

knitter sorry that you haven't heard anything yet, it really isnt fair of them to leave you waiting so long. fx it's good news.

I wholeheartedly agree with owl - stay away from the mc boards. I went cruising them a few weeks ago and it was a huge mistake.

I have booked a private NT scan for Friday - I will be 12 weeks then YIKES!! We are going private because we want snazzy 3d stuff and dvd as well as the gender assessment. I also have my nhs scan booked for 26th but dont know whether to go or not. It's the week after we get back from Spain so I'll probably be mentalling about whether the flight did any damage or not so I might go anyway.

owlbooty · 11/04/2011 16:36

Velvet lovely, you wait. I didn't put any weight on until about 19 weeks. 4 weeks on, I look like a weeble and none of my clothes fit. Grin Hoorah for the NT scan booking :)

Big hug for Knits - still hoping for the best news for you xx

I want iced buns. Many, many iced buns. I only have an apple or ryvita in my desk drawer what a shite choice that is.

Collie2 · 11/04/2011 16:36

Can you find out the gender at 12 wks??? wow.

Is flying dangerous???? Have been avoiding mentalling thinking about that, but here its comes. Oh god, what was i thinking booking this???????

Collie2 · 11/04/2011 16:40

PS velvet and owl i'm very Envy at you not putting on any weight. I expect to be a whale by 12 weeks!! My new obession with crisps is not helping. Something i never normally eat, but want ALL THE TIME.

Grin at owl's pathetic secret stash. Mines the same, i stash healthy food in my work drawer and then go on the hunt for other peoples biscuits! Smile

LaraMi · 11/04/2011 16:42

Collie - I booked a "fcuk it" weekend away (in two weeks time) some time ago when I was generally frustrated with the lack of getting pg. Now I am pg, I am absolutely terrified and wish we could cancel it! I am utterly convinced flying is fine!

Wow - gender at 12 weeks...

I am so very scared - ladies, I have further to go than any of you till my next scan! I am petrified. Technically therefore, I have the highest chance of MC of everyone on this thread (I know it makes no sense as you have all been in the same starting position but it's my weird logic).

Am also petrified cos I don't feel sick and have no food aversions. In fact I could eat anything and everything....

Wombat33 · 11/04/2011 16:42

Hello everyone. Good luck Knitter I second the comments - I'd be chasing too if I was you - I'm no good at waiting patiently for results.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/04/2011 16:43

Someone mentioned iced buns...?

collie I have it from a reliable source that jinx pixies are not allowed on aeroplanes, thus no need to panic about flying Smile. I'm going to Spain from 14-15 weeks which is precisely my danger time but I'm just thinking it will hopefully be a good distraction. It will not change anything (repeat after me)

knitter hope you're ok - it is crap of them to keep you waiting this long xx

Velvetcu · 11/04/2011 16:52

lol owl at weebleness. I was surprised I hadnt put on weight as I have a definate bump and can just about do my trousers up already.

I agree with Izz re the flying, it's meant to be quite safe. I would even still have gone to Japan if it werent for the radioactivity :( I should be walking in the blossom now.

Will everyone stop saying iced-buns, the more I read it the more inclined I am to go and buy some - maybe I should learn how to bake them or would that be too dangerous?

Collie2 · 11/04/2011 17:03

Okay i've consulted Dr Google (so of course its true) and there seems to be little concern associated to flying in pg, and in 1st trimester. Main concerns seem to be radiation (which should be low enough to not be worried anyway, but i'll only be on a little plane for an hour) and the impact on morning sickness - so i'll take extra sick bags. Izzy glad to hear they don't let jinx pixies on too though Grin

velvet totally forgot you were supposed to be going to Japan (you mentioned it on the mc thread a while back). Of course you will have had to cancel. It will have been a year in May when we went. The cherry blossoms are beautiful. Do you think you'll ever make the trip another time?

LaraMi · 11/04/2011 17:03

My craving for iced buns has been replaced by a craving for a fried egg. I have never, ever liked eggs and now I crave them all the time. Treated myself to one yesterday so that's it till next weekend Sad

banana87 · 11/04/2011 17:06

Lara My craving for fried eggs lasted 3 whole days. Dig in. Cravings in first trimester (IME) do NOT last long.

MummyAbroad · 11/04/2011 17:21

ooooh I want an IB too! No, what a minute, that just looks wrong... Can I please be allowed to mention the word so that I dont look like I want an irritable bowel?Confused

.. and on a slightly related note - owl throw away the Ryvita! I think they are evil, especially during pregnancy. I ate zillions of them with DS, got very constipated, got really bad hemmorhoids and then read a book called Fibre Menance which explained why. The short version of the book is Natural Fibre (fruit and veg) = good, artificial fibre = bad. Longer version here: www.gutsense.org/fibermenace/about_fm.html

still rooting for you knitter Smile

Jet settersGrin I flew long haul (16hours) from England to Costa Rica TWICE during my pregnancy with DS. Once at 12 weeks ish and once at 8 months (one way that time, obviously!) I dont think it did him any harm at all, so enjoy your hols!

xxxxxxxxxx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/04/2011 17:23

Lara eggs are great for protein in pg so dig in. Also, did you know your body doesn't take on cholesterol in the same way as usual when you're pg? So you can stuff yourself with eggs guilt-free!

velvet Sad such a shame about Japan...

MummyAbroad · 11/04/2011 17:26

Velvet - have you got a bread machine?

cep · 11/04/2011 17:39

i flew to germany when i was about 12 weeks pgwith ds, i think the worst thing is the effect on your stomach, you've lost control of your stomach muscles so tend to flip easier, so yes take sickie bags just incase, i didn't throw up but stomach did do somersaults (sp?)

owl no, she didn't want to do my booking in until after scan last tuesday to make sure everything was ok. So i reckon i won't get a scan until may now. Sad

KnitterNotTwitter · 11/04/2011 17:51

Hey ladies

still no news. I phoned the hospital and they confirmed that there are no results lurking anywhere for me. in fact she said that they're just starting to get results back from CVSs done the day before mine... So tomorrow or Wednesday... Grrr

RE: Flying I think airlines in the UK don't like you flying after 28 weeks or 32 weeks with a doctors letter but that is mostly because they don't like the idea of you delivering at 30,000 ft...

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/04/2011 18:30

Grrr knitter Angry fx for tomorrow x

wombatinwaiting · 11/04/2011 18:36

Oh knitter - how madly frustrating for you..... how are you coping? Sending many thoughts your way x

Ok - enough of the iced buns pleeeeeease! I am drooling on my keyboard and it will stop working soon Grin. There is also only one place that does decent ones here and it's now shut so will have to make do with chocolate. Love your healthy / sinful trick at work collie!

Interesting stuff re: the fibre mummya - does anyone else have any tips on constipation - I'm suffering from it again this pg in fits and starts and I believe the increased progesterone from the supplement makes things worse..... I drink at least 3 litres of water daily, always get my 5 a day (more fruit than veg though) and can't seem to find prune juice here.... any other suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

Velvetcu · 11/04/2011 18:39

Oh knitter sorry you are still waiting

I don't have a bread maker - should I get one?

PinkFondantFancy · 11/04/2011 18:46

Just a quickie, will try and catch up properly later but there has been a lot of chat on here!!!

knitter that is sooooo annoying! Would have been less annoying if they'd just managed your expectations properly in the first place grrrr.

WIW have you tried apple juice, works a treat!

lara I am properly addicted to fried eggs, I'm on at least 1 a day Blush OMG I have been thinking about cream buns all day!

velvet can you really tell the gender at 12 weeks?? I thought they couldn't tell until 16 weeks?

Ok gotta go but will try and come back properly later!
