Newly pregnant after miscarriage? Here is a nice place to hang out and swap symptoms and worries until you are brave enough to sign up to the grads thread.

Collie2 · 07/04/2011 12:05

xposts Dachs im not sure about the ms later on, but like you said the sickness is probably down to the fall - how is the pain by the way? Are you sure you are up to going back to work tomorrow?

I did raise the date mess up withg mw, and she wrote something down, but i have a feeling it will still be wrong next time i go as its off the hospitals system. I might ring them. Its sutpid really bcs the old dates and dd are up with all my personal details, but then below in the comments section it states i'm 6+ based on the scan i had on monday. You'd think when i got there and didn;t have a huge belly someone would have noticed ??

katherine2008 · 07/04/2011 12:06

Hurray velvet brilliant news. Dachs having been googling incessantly about ms for the last 24 hours, I can tell you that ms can start at random times and last for random lengths - so could be!

I have booked a scan for Saturday - so now just have to stay calm til then. Hmm

Blackkat · 07/04/2011 12:26

YAY for velvet

((hugs)) for Cep

Angry at date mix up for Collie (we had the same first DD, I didn't know that before Sad)

Currently doing extreme mentalling here - wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Collie2 · 07/04/2011 13:04

knitter i am so sorry darling i wish there was something i could say to make it better. Truely hoping you get positive results soon. Are you home? Have you got company? I don't know if you are interested in knowing this but someone else is going through exactly the same thing on the pg threads here might be nice to talk to someone else going through it - or might be the last thing you want, in which case just ignore and sorry. thinking of you xx

blackkat oh i am sorry i hope i didn't upset you. On re-checking my diary thats not not my old dd, its a week behind, so must have been based on what the baby measured at the scan. very Confused indeed.

KnitterNotTwitter · 07/04/2011 13:30

Collie thanks for the prompt - I'll give her a post now. I'm home alone although lots of friends keep inviting me over for coffee - the problem is that they're all people with young babies...

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 13:38

knitter sorry you're having such a tough time, it's very unfair that you have to go through this :( Am keeping everything crossed for you, really hope the results come in tomorrow.

dachs yup afraid so - my book says that MS sometimes only starts in the second trimester.....

katherine good work booking in the scan, Saturday is just around the corner

collie glad it was uneventful but sorry about the dates mix-up, that sucks. Haha they must have thought you were a very skinny 24 weeker! Am interested to hear they made you POAS - no-one has ever asked me to do that, you could get all the way to your 12 week scan with everyone just taking your word for you being pregnant!

Collie2 · 07/04/2011 13:45

pink when she gave it to me i asked did i really need to as there was definatley something in there - i had the scan to prove it!! She laughed and said it wasn't a pg test, but didn't then enlighten me as to what it was for. Had lots of coloured patches up it, so assume she was testing for lots of things - she asked me about thrush at the same time Confused

knitter glad the link was of interest, so Sad for you but you are doing so well keeping strong. Its nice you have friends checking on you but of course you wouldn't want to be surrounded by babies.

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 13:54

Ooooh collie that makes sense - I had to give my MW a pee pot and she dunked one of them in. I think it checks for sugar and blood and that sort of stuff in your pee. Hahaha that reminds me of a Blush incident at the booking in appointment - I forgot to bring a pee sample with me but it was ok because I needed the loo anyway so they gave me a pot. However, I needed the loo so much that I was happily having a pee when I remembered that I was supposed to be peeing into the pot I was clutching in my hand..... I got literally half a centimeter into the pot but then was too embarrassed to tell MW that brian made me not use the pot and instead had to make up some story about how I'd spilled the rest of it..... Blush Anyway luckily she didn't need much!

owlbooty · 07/04/2011 14:05

Buahahahaha Pink good work there Grin

Velvet phew - am so pleased for you :) Great news.

Collie that stick thing with all the colours on tests for infection, plus a bunch of other stuff like protein. I got the doc to tell me what they all were. I always like to know what's going on :)

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 14:13

Aaagh velvet I missed your good news!!! That is brilliant, and you've got a lovely sunny afternoon all to yourself now too! :D

wombatinwaiting · 07/04/2011 14:41

Awesome news velvet - what a relief.

Good to hear from you knitter - must be v hard with RL friends - it's amazing how much easier it is to talk on here isn't it? I'm sure you will have found it already, but just in case, have you seen the ARC website? It keeps encouraging people to call the number on there if you wanted some telephone support while you wait out the results.

Hope you're resting up ok dachs and the pain isn't too bad and like others have said, ms seems to stop and start all over the place (just to give us something else to worry about.....)

Grrrrr collie re: your dates on file.... glad that the appt went well although uneventful. I'm doing ok thanks - feeling a bit nauseous this afternoon but I"m wondering if I just got a bit too hot this afternoon. We had our "Corporate Olympics" on the beach today which I would normally have got fully involved in and the location was awesome. I was over-cooking even in the shade so came home early. As our weekend starts tomorrow it does at least mean I was home nice and early and have prepared a lovely dinner for me and DH to ease us into the weekend.

Chuckled at your wee pot story pink - I'm sure I've done something similar Grin

banana87 · 07/04/2011 14:42

Hi ladies,

Great news on your scan Velvet :)

Cep :( Hope it's nothing. Fingers crossed.

Collie Fuming on your behalf. The bloody bloody hospital needs a real kick up the arse.

Knitter Thinking of you sweets.

I am so sick :( I haven't puked yet, but only because I have a phobia and therefore will do anything not to. Plus I know from last time it doesn't help anyway. I can't eat or drink though :( The most I can take is one bite or something or sip of water and then spend the next 10 minutes trying to keep it down. I went to bed at 4pm last night and woke up at 9 this morning. I am so tired it's untrue. Please please, what can I do about the sickness/no appetite? I am worried about getting a UTI from not drinking.

owlbooty · 07/04/2011 15:43

Banana, lovely, get thee to the doctor's for some anti-vomming tablets.

You need to keep your fluid intake up or you will very quickly start to feel like absolute shite. Poor MummyA 's had more than her fair share of nausea, she may also have some helpful suggestions if she is around.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 07/04/2011 16:04

All digits crossed for knitter

And a yey for velvetSmile

cep · 07/04/2011 16:20

velvet so glad good result. Grin

collie that's awful, hope they do correct it for you.

knitter sorry you're going through this at the moment. hopefully they'll get good results back to you quickly.

I haven't had any more bloody cm. thanks collie for posting that link, i'm clinging to that, Smile

During my last pg mw didn't test urine at all, kept taking some with me but she never used it. Confused

wombatinwaiting · 07/04/2011 16:32

That doesn't sound like a good place to be banana..... hang in there. I second owl's suggestion re: anti-vom tablets. In the mean time, have you tried experimenting with very cold, cold, room temperature, warm and hot drinks? Also maybe fizzy water or squash of some sort? Perhaps even something like drinking through a straw might make a difference....? Sorry if you have tried all these things already, just wanted to offer something up as I felt so sorry for you.....

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 16:57

banana you poor thing :( just wanted to second what the others say. Also maybe try juice or flat coke or Ginger beer? I found plain water made me feel vile.

wiw corporate olympics???? That sounds fab! Dont tell me you also get work outings to wild wadi?????

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 16:59

Oh banana my mum had the same thing and found rice krispies were the only thing she could eat if that appeals?

jigglebum · 07/04/2011 17:17

HI everyone Just thought I would pop in quickly to say hi, although apologies for not reading all 30 pages of the thread! just wanted to let you ladies know about my BFP yesterday, as many of you helped me through my mc at 11 weeks just before Christmas. Cautiously pleased but given it is only 5 weeks don't want to get too excited yet.

Had suspected for a few days but nice to have it confirmed. Not sure how I am going to get through the next weeks/months without going to the toilet ridiculous amounts to check all is ok!

Hope you are all ok - will try and read through the thread later this evening.

MummyAbroad · 07/04/2011 18:20

hi everyone,

DH has a day off today, so we have been out and about Smile
Velvet so relieved for you! xxx
cep hope it really is nothing, you have had more than your share of worry.

knitter still got everything crossed for you. Hope you are OK

banana I second the suggestion to get some anti nausea/anti vom tablets. It really is much more dangerous for the bean if you get dehydrated than any risk of taking the meds (which really are safe) The ladies on the Hyperemesis thread helped me loads, and have tons of information, its worth popping over for a chat with them too. I would say go straight to the doctor though, if home remedies already arent helping, then you should have meds at least on stand by in case your fluid level takes a sudden dive. If you can get it, coconut water is a natural rehydration drink and full of lovely minerals and vitamins too, if not you should consider drinking lucozade or rehydration drinks from the chemist. If you are drinking very little, then you need to make sure what you drink counts. If you cant eat this wont affect the bean whatsoever (but will probably make you feel more sick as you have more stomach acids) but if you cant drink, then you need to look at this as a serious medical problem and get some help. Have you tried ice lollies? I hope its not making you feel to miserable, and same goes for collie katherine and dach and anyone else entering the sick zone. xxx

jiggle congratulations on your BFP! Smile

knitter I'm so sorry you are going through this, I really hope things are ok for you. I wish there was something I could do to help.

banana and other pukers, sorry you guys are having a rough time. It really must be awful.

congrats jiggle and welcome to the nut house :)

Pink am Grin at your pee story, Brian has a lot to answer for!!

KnitterNotTwitter · 07/04/2011 20:04

Hi lovely ladies

Just checking in to say that we haven't heard from the hospital today so I'm going to relax until 9am tomorrow morning now... No doubt I'll get a call at some wildly awkward moment at the zoo tomorrow and end up sobbing in front of the lamas or something.

In good news we did hear that DS has a place at the nursery in the primary school at the end of the road from Sept - by no means inevitable as we're in a very fertile area of London - the catchment area is only 300m and falling

jiggle lovely news about the BFP will keep my fingers crossed it's a sticky one

tiggersreturn · 07/04/2011 21:29

Hi Knitter - Just wanted to wish you good luck. I refused all those scans because I didn't want to know. I sincerely hope that it works out for the best whatever happens.

Well done on the nursery place. Depending on the system used for reception that means you're usually in with a very good chance for the school. DS got into nursery last year and we got school place confirmation on monday so it can happen. Very stressful all of it.
