hi mummya - glad it's not just me - I have just been fretting whilst watching Waterloo Road on telly. Had a good chat with dh and he is fine about me getting another scan if I want one which is a relief. I never had a problem with toothpaste - just anything greasy, spicey, creamy... just had an M&S Shep Pie (too lazy to cook today) and it was totally yummy, nicest thing I have eaten forever, so added to my panic!!! And I am poking my boobs again... !!

smiles at everyone else and wishes Orange a comfy time on her work chair!

nickstermum · 06/04/2011 21:23

Toothpaste still makes me barf at 22 weeks!

Knitter.... mucho respecto kidda. xx Strong lady xxx Been thinking of you today, i really hope that news on thursday or friday is the news you hope and pray for xxxxx

Velvetcu · 06/04/2011 21:46

Grrr I've been on Dr Google to find out how likely I am to get good news tomorrow after a good scan at 8 weeks :(

Anyway on the plus side for you pukey lot - apparently ms is linked to a lower risk of mc. Which does nothing to put me at ease since I didnt have any last time or thins time :(

Orange I hope your new chair is fab - the jinx pixies are all at mine so you are perfectly safe methinks.

Collie2 · 06/04/2011 21:50

mummya brushing my teeth made me boak all the time in my last pg and that has started again this week.

Ms kicked in yesterday, think my drive to work (and hour) must kick it off as i'm ok when i wake but i spend most of the journey dry wretching. Wasn't too bad yesterday but felt grim all morning today and could't keep breakie in. Thankfully working from home tomorrow as have mw apt and have friday off.

Have tender boobs too and am shattered all the time - nearly fell asleep at desk today Grin - so although am hating the sickness, and happy to have symptoms.

katherine izzy i think symptoms have a tendancy to fade in and out and an 9 1/2 weeks symptoms can stop...but i WILL need reminding of this fact if/when mine go please ladies!

blackkat very good decison about your rellies. I hope they show they are sorry.

FX for velvet tomorrow, what time is your scan?

Thanks for the advuce everyone by the way on the next scan. I've not decided what to do yet, but i've cancelled the one i had booked. I think i'll see how long i can go without mentalling it goes.

Collie2 · 06/04/2011 22:10

Also who asked about snotty yellow/green cm?? - Got that too (yuck) Grin

MummyAbroad · 06/04/2011 22:35

Hi velvet fingers crossed for tomorrow, I am sure when you hear a heartbeat Dr google will fade right out of your mind xx

by the way, I dont believe the ms linked to mc theory - I was hospitalised last time for puking non stop at 8 weeks and then went on to have an mmc Sad

katherine I am enjoying food again for the first time in ages. I am working really hard to just be grateful for easing symptoms and not worry. I do believe you can have a healthy pregnancy without feeling ludicrously sick all the time - I did with DS!

Collie sorry you are in the sick club. I found the more active I was the worse it got, so do try and rest as much as poss. Dont stand when you could sit, and dont sit when you could lie down! Smile

watch out for the ones that DS may have licked...

Velvet I hope today goes well, damn that Dr Google for being available when we are at our most vulnerable. I'm not sure how true the MS/MC theory is as I wasn't sick but felt sick all day every day last time and was a MMC :( stay away from all of us, d'ya hear?!

Collie hooray/sympathy on the sickness :) are you investing in some sick bags for your car?

My chair is being brought over so I may have it tomorrow, but it's good knowing it's on it's way. Small things eh?

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 07:15

Morning all!! Good luck today velvet I'll be thinking of you!

Katherine I think it's v common for MS to start to ease around that time ( currently off work, plenty of time to google..... ) and I really don't think it means anything sinister is on it's way. Mine eased then too I think-still comes back from time to time but less often. I remember asking doc at scan and he said it's good and normal that its easing.

Glad you're enjoying food again mummy - makes life so much nicer!mmmmm cupcakes!! Grin

collie hope MW appt goes well. I feel sicker the more tired I am too. I have yellow snot from time to time too.

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 07:19

Oh and I've just been on bookface and it sounds like mamap has been v v busy launching her business but it sounds like it's going brilliantly!!

Blackkat · 07/04/2011 07:23

Velvet thinking of you today, (((hugs))).

BTW agree with mummya about m/s and mc - was also threatened with hospitalisation last time if I didn't keep any fluids down, puked from 8 - 11 weeks, lost nearly 2 stone, ended in MMC, so the link isn't proven by any means IMO

to everyone else and the updiffed chairs

Blackkat · 07/04/2011 07:24

Collie hope mw goes well today x

cep · 07/04/2011 07:43

morning ladies, hope you're all ok.

velvet good luck today

collie good luck with the midwife.

ok i'm back to doom and gloom again, big blob of brown bloody cm this morning. No point asking for a scan as wouldn't be able to have one again as they don't do it within 2 weeks at which case i'll be nearly 12 weeks and might as well wait for that one. but thinking not good again now. sad

Ninunina · 07/04/2011 07:45

Good morning everyone! Quick note to say good luck velvet and collie

I received my appointments yesterday in the post. My next scan is on the 12th may, and booking in appointment is on the 3rd. Quite surprised yours is so early collie I wonder why they vary so much.

Sorry to hear that MS has cought up with a few of you. I've been feeling miserable. Puking at work is the worst. Thankfully it's always a controlled puke so no need for sick bags yet. What can I use as sick bags in case I need it?

Ninunina · 07/04/2011 07:46

((hugs)) to cep

PinkFondantFancy · 07/04/2011 07:57

((( cep ))) that sucks. Could you get a private scan for reassurance?

nina the MW appointments vary a lot - I didn't have my booking in appointment until 11.5 weeks! I bought sickbags off Ebay I think - they were cheap and they're very reassuring to have in your handbag!

Collie2 · 07/04/2011 08:00

cep ((hugs)) I'm so sorry, but you know brown can be ok. And your scan the other day was just perfect. Chances of NOT mc after seeing a healthy heartbeat at bean at 8 wks are 98% and at 10wks 99.4% so you would be somewhere inbetween with GREAT odds in your favour. Try not to worry sweet, 2 weeks is a long time to wait if you're stressing. It will all be fine. Xx

ninu mw apt today not booking in apt just apt to see her and get one. I did try and make an apt just for booking in later instead in hope of not having to pointlessly go today to see her but the gp receptionist was useless. My epu booked me an apt for my booking in apt for may 6th at hospital but I can't do that day and don't want it in the hospital. I'd also prefer It to be earlier as last time they waited till I'd had my booking in to book my 12 wk scan by which time they couldn't fit me in for nuchal. As it happened, didn't matter in the end but obv hoping this time will be different.

To be contoversial on the ms and mc thing, I did lose mine at point of mc. 2 days b4 my scan they eased and by the day before I felt the best I had in weeks. Turned out at the scan baby died 6 days b4. I'm not saying I think losing symptoms means mc, as I don't I think they can fade and lots of people here have opposite experiences. But, at the risk of inducing panic, I thought I'd share my experience.

Collie2 · 07/04/2011 08:04

Grin @ pink with sick bags and pads in handbag. That's a mum if ever I saw one Grin I have nothing so would no doubt resort to picking in my handbag. Ick!!

wombatinwaiting · 07/04/2011 08:05

Popping on v quickly to wish good luck to velvet and to send hugs to cep - well done for hanging in there.

re: the ms debate, it's an anything goes IMO. In the same way that every baby develops differently when out of the womb (even to the same mother), every pregnancy is massively different (even to the same mother) and symptoms / no symptoms / increase/decrease in symptoms is the work of the devil just to drive us into mentalling further..... (not that any of this theory stops me mentalling of course Grin )

Collie2 · 07/04/2011 08:07

Pucking not picking, bloody iPhone.

Daisybell1 · 07/04/2011 08:50

Morning all

Katherine my MS started to ease off at that point too - all was fine at my 12 week scans so please don't panic.

Knitter you are one brave lady! Have got everything crossed for your results.

*Blackkat Hope all goes well with your dad's op.

Hello to everyone else!!!

Thanks for enquiring about me - have a MW appt, then a drs one today to see if I'm fit to go back to work. Am feeling much better, although am still having meltdowns. I think I need to go back, if only to get away from my own head for a while, but part time would be perfect to give me time to work through stuff. I did bring home some library books yesterday - both baby books (facing the future horror) and mental health ones. I need to get this sorted!

Sheepdog hunt continues - we have a list of about 10 which are available of various ages/prices but OH needs to get off his backside and decide which he wants.

PS a tip for those with toothpaste problems - try bicarb ones. Normal toothpaste always makes me puke, but Arm and Hammer doesn't - its less foamy.

katherine2008 · 07/04/2011 09:20

thank you guys for your wise words on ms. in my head I know that every pregnancy is different and that nothing might mean something and something might mean nothing... if that makes any sense. i have called local-ish scanning centre and am waiting for a call back. had horrible nightmares all night about nasties, so think it might be best to get a scan booked in.

back to toothpaste, I use Arm and Hammer - so maybe why it hasn't affected me!

Cep hun thinking of you. As the others have said, a bit of cm doesn't mean anything - try to stay positive.

good luck today velvet and sending hugs to daisy and wishes you luck with your search for a dog.

waves to everyone and is chuffed to bits that mummya is feeling better...

owlbooty · 07/04/2011 10:04

Good luck today velvet x

The MS/MC debate will run and run - I have not been sick once this pregnancy altho have felt nauseous/off food up to about 9/10 weeks when it began to ease - by 11 weeks it had pretty much vanished. Except I still don't want camomile tea or peas. Weird, I know.

On the other hand when I had the mc, I felt suddenly fine at 6 weeks then started feeling grottier as the week went on only to mc at 7 weeks.

So I think there's no pattern.

cep sending hugs and positive vibes your way x

daisy glad you're perking up a bit - clearly you needed the time off though.

collie I'll prepare the haddock for when you hit 9 weeks and start wailing about your symptoms vanishing Wink

Collie2 · 07/04/2011 11:45

Oh owl i am certain that you'll need that haddock Grin

mummya meant also to say so glad you are feeling better. I on the other hand feel even worse today Sad and really need to stop eating blackberrys for breakfast as i keep panicing at my red sick! Blush

mw apt completley uneventful as expected. Had me poas and took blood pressure, thats it. Booking in apt is a fortnight off. On getting my notes out from monday though i notice that they have me down as being 24wks 2 days with a due date of 23/07/2011, which are my dates from my last pg Sad how come they always manage to cock up??

Hoping all going well for velvet

How are my dd buddies izzy and wombat ?

Velvetcu · 07/04/2011 11:45

Phew everything is fine here :) bleed was placenta taking over properly, pains are normal. Bean is 1 day bigger than dates. I am soooo relieved, really thought it was gonna be bad news.

Thanks for all your support (again) Grin

DoubleDiffedDachs · 07/04/2011 11:59

yay velvet :)

glad to hear it was good news

collie Angry at dates mess up, but at least you've been able to set them straight (I assume...)

question: is it possible for ms to start after 14 weeks? just wondering 'cos it's probably just the shock of the fall but yesterday and today i've been feeling really nauseous, which i've not had before.

Wish i wasn't going back to work tomorrow - it's lovely being at home with the sun! :)
