This is a continuation of the "More ongoing and continuing conceptions and follicling ahead of Feisty, Fabulous Forty somethings"

I thought I would keep the title short as there are so many long ones out there.

I thought I would start the new thread so that you don't forget me Grin

Just a quick post as have a shed load to get through here at work. If tests have arrived will test in the morning, however have feeling in the pit of my stomach that it will be a BFN. Will catch up with you at the bistro later.

BeattieBow · 02/02/2011 10:19

I didn't know you could get tablets - sounds better anyway.

But need to get them from GP - clinic charges £30 for progesterone Shock ker-chiing!

anyway, no signs of pg here either. Curly how many dpo are you?

Curlylox · 02/02/2011 10:30

BB going by ewcm only as not been temping etc which I had on 16 & 17 Jan.

hippychick66 · 02/02/2011 10:37

just logged on to check for news from curly - but see she is being devilishly slow at testing Grin Hope it's worth the wait.

lou I think AF will come soon for you if you had a spot of blood yesterday. Mine always starts with one or two spots about 1/2 days before the main event. As soon as AF arrives you'll know what CD you are and you can start the OPK's dead early this month to ensure you get the Smile. Thinking of you, my love.

jolls love the imagery (the drawbridge is up!! hee hee) Hope little jolly is better soon.

Shock MY BIG FAT GYPSY WEDDING Shock watched it last night and am horrified how far behind the times they are with regard to womens liberation - did anyone else watch it or am I just too chavvy???

Not much to report here. Boobs are going for it big style but I know it can just be the progesterone from the LP and all this can end in a couple of days. Last night my right boob was literally throbbing with pain (not had that before Hmm).

Saw my lovely GP yesterday and my under-active thyroid seems to be behaving, thanks to the tablets. The levels were spot on in the middle and only a tiny bit above the recommended level for TTC. So at least I know that's not stopping me. I said to the GP that i was getting my head around the fact that it (another baby) may not happen again for us and that I would be ok if it didn't happen and she said, I still hope it does happen for you! Ahh bless her, I didn't tell her that she is gonna have to relocate with us - I'll tell her soonWink.

Love to all. Hugs for those that need them ((())).

Diege · 02/02/2011 11:18

I'll have a hug please Hippy! Af is here big style, despite a temp rise this morning Angry, giving me a measly 10 day LP which is awful I know Sad. Will carry on with the vitex, and will also go for the Zita west fertility vits next month I think. Just feeling a bit bleugh but give me a day or two and things will be better. TBH it's not the not being pregnant that's bothering me, more the underlying feeling that my cycle is so short that there's no real chance anyway..
So yes, the mid-week bistro will indeed be opening and all orders being placed will be processed in time for tonight. Only light bites and drinks though for chef on wednesday. Save the full scoff menu til Friday Grin
Hippy I saw the gypsy thing (avidly watching all episoides Blush) Agree that any sort of equality is years away, and I don't believe that after the high of the wedding etc those girls don't get a sense of 'what have I done/is this it' at some point. On a different topic the extra sore boob sounds good - maybe an extra push of prog circulating?
Curly I am getting very excited for you, though can relate to how stressful it will be to test. It has to be done at some point though Grin
BB fingers crossed for you x Lou hold on in there x
Better get back to marking...

Diege · 02/02/2011 11:19

Jolls I also sniggered at the drawbridge analogy and will be using that one Grin

Curlylox · 02/02/2011 11:54

Looks like the show is over ladies........just come back from the toilet and have a pink coloured mucus! So af has arrived although it usually starts more reddy brown colour. Anyone have an explanation at all please other than mother nature likes to change the rules every so often??? Well I did have that dream and had a feeling that I would be destined to be disappointed Sad

Diege · 02/02/2011 12:03

Oh Curly Sad If it is indeed af, I had a very similar cycle that was 11 days longer than usual, despite ovulation being at usual time. It might well be that something started developing but didn't 'take' (sorry if this sounds insensitive). What a rollarcoaster for you Sad

BeattieBow · 02/02/2011 12:09

oh curly and diege so sorry for you. curly I can't answer what's happening, but my cycle is different every month too. I can ovulate on any day from cd11 to cd21, and my cycle can be anything from 22 to 31 days long. My LP has also varied from 10 to 16 days long. I have no idea what's happening every month. My periods also vary - last time it was only a day long.

(I think I was more normal before my mmc last year, and then I basically bled for 3 months sorry tmi).

I think all my expensive tests are going to show that everything is "normal" too, and maybe this is normal for our age..

Hippy I had a similar boob thing... Last friday, I went to the loo (sorry I'm about to overshare here...) there was a small amount of blood, and then I got an immense pain in my left boob. I had a look, and both boobs were producing milk Shock Shock. Anyway I googled breast cancer a bit as you do. Couldn't find any link between sudden milk production and pregnancy/implantation, and spent the night worrying. Left boob continued to hurt for a few days (still does now too, but am taking progesterone which makes them hurt). I can't remember when I stopped bfg ds2 - he is 3 in April and I stopped when he was around 19 months I think. Can milk last for so long?

anyway, my cervix was low this morning so I'm presuming I'm out this month too, although don't do enough cervix checking to know where it normally is!

I can't believe I'm writing all of this while I'm at work!.

Curlylox · 02/02/2011 12:31

I want to start temping but have missed first cd now, please advise. Need to re-focus but I'm so so disappointed Sad Sad

SameOldJollster · 02/02/2011 12:42

curly sorry to hear your update. FWIW I had pinky brown spotting for 3 or 4 days before I got my last BFP, and then intermittently afterwards. I know that one didn't end in a baby, BUT there was implantation and bean made it to 10+1, so I don't think there's necessarily a link of spotting in early pg equals subsequent MC IYSWIM. I guess I'm saying I know you know your body better than anyone, but what you've had so far needn't mean AF on her bastardy bitch arsicles way. And whilst I know zero about temping, CD1 is the first day of proper bleeding, so worst case scenario you haven't missed CD1. Big squeeze from me for you today.

Diege · 02/02/2011 12:42

curly, start wth your temp tomorrow - makes no difference really as temps will be low until ovulation. I feel so sad and disappointed for you Sad. On a teeny bit brighter note, at leat your LP is a decent length and also we are cycle buddies Grin

Diege · 02/02/2011 12:44

As Jolls says though, test anyway when they arrive, as she's right, there is a chance it could be preg-related spotting xx

BeattieBow · 02/02/2011 12:46

curly you don't need to start on cd1. You can get thermometers from Boots.

Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler? If not, I would advise that you do. It has alot of information about temping and other fertile signs. You can join Fertility Friend and plot your temperature on there. the problem with temping (for me because I'm not regular) is that it only tells you after ovulation when you have ovulated. I don't find that very helpful, so I use the clear blue fertility monitor which tells me when my fertile days actually are. I think others on here use sticks too, ranging from the cheap opks to smiley face ones. My consultant recommended these.

The good thing about temping is that you can see whether you have ovulated, and you can see a pattern emerging. OPKs only tell you when you have got a surge which may lead to ovulation, but which doesn't always.

I would also advise, if you haven't already, going to see your gp - he will be able to do bloodtests which check your egg levels and whether you ovulate.

I'm so sorry, I know how rotten you feel on cd1/2.

Curlylox · 02/02/2011 12:46

Cycle buddies we are then diege
Ah thanks diege jolls and bb for you kind words.....sat here at my desk and I'm fighting back the tears Sad

SameOldJollster · 02/02/2011 12:48

don't throw in the towel yet curly xxx

BeattieBow · 02/02/2011 12:51

curly have you seen the Sperm Meets Egg Plan??

Maybe it's time for hard core....

(not for the faint hearted, basically you swi every other day from the end of your period or day 8 (I can't remember which) until you get a positive on an opk. and then you swi for 3 days running. Miss a day, and then swi one more time). My dh would faint at this, but Tank and others have had success with this. )

I'm so sorry, I know how you feel, and I'll probably be the same in a couple of days too. it's shit I know.

BeattieBow · 02/02/2011 13:11

Just got my day21 tests back - 31. I think that is borderline, so I feel good that I am taking the progesterone now, but worried that I waited until 7dpo to take it. the nurse assured me that was ok, but I thought you had to start from ov.

At least I'll know next time. (or fingers crossed it is ok this time maybe).

SameOldJollster · 02/02/2011 13:13

did you cough up then BB? ouch... Angry

Italiangreyhound · 02/02/2011 13:17

Wow, log on and there are pages of stuff! can't keep up.

So will just say....
Jolls sorry it is hard isn't it, but lovely that your little one had your dad's middle name.

Muchlove Thanks for the accupuncture tip but I could not face having needles in me, yes, I know they are tiny and don't hurt but little pricks are... OK will stop there and not make a joke!

Hippy you are never chavvy but I have avoided Gypsy wedding as I just thought it would make me too mad. Getting married at 17 seems a bit young and the clips I saw of it just made me think it was rather an unfortunate group to be in as a girl. I have been watching the biggest loser and I am HORRIFIED that they are treating the contestants in such a horrible way.

Curlylox · 02/02/2011 13:19

Fingers crossed for you bb, one of us has to have some good news soon I hope. Re you Sperm meet egg plan, I fainted when I read that but my DH would Grin. Have had a little cry in the ladies, definitely af is here as boobs no longer feel sore/tender and now af is red. Oh someone come along and have some good news or post something upbeat please.

BeattieBow · 02/02/2011 13:27

jolls they gave me the result for free! (they have suggested another session with drC but I'm not sure it's necessary).

My dh would Shock at the SMEP! We managed 2 in a row this time when we weren't away for the weekend and that's a record!

muchlove · 02/02/2011 13:27

Oh CURLY honey... is it defo AF ? I got a bit of spotting on my PG cycle last Feb then day later a BFP...... have you actually tested or are you still afraid to ?
If indeed it is a new cycle for you CD1 is only marked down when full red bleeding begins.... Also you dont have to take temp during AF you can start once it is over, as this is used to track OV and luteul Phase length.....I'm thinking of you xx

Yes HIPPY I did watch the programme too what a life those girls have eh? Compelling viewing I must say....giving a wave to your boobs Grin

DIEGE Hey there sorry for the short LP and that AF came Sad ....that BAR/ANNEX is gonna be busy tonight ....

LOU I really do believe that it's a delayed reaction to the stressful ordeal you have been through chick.....Our bodies do have a way of getting down when we think we are fine and coping with things so don't panic or read too much into it for now.....

BB What a money racket these places are eh!
They should be able to tell you over the phone you paid for the bloodtest!! Grrrhh
Yeah I know about the PROG supps they can make you feel preggas but you will know once you test if you have to keep taking them...

As for moi.... well am starting to think that maybe last month was annovulatory and that this month is going the same way ???? Not sure but I am getting the symptoms of gearing up for OV but the tests are negative Shock shit shit and shit again have just read through the pre-menopause section of TCOYFertility and Queen Toni has described exactly the symptoms I am having. Cycles start to get shorter with OV occuring early.....then cycles change slightly LP gets shorter not so many days with EWCM temps erratic and not showing a clear thermal shift and staying high for 12-14 days. I have defo sensed a difference in my cycle since Xmas but because I am still getting AF I assumed I was still OV.... Well shock flipping horror you can still get AF without OVing !!!! So the next thing is long cycles with no AF ....Oh my this is like some cruel fu**ing joke Sad Sad
I guess I knew my number would be up someday (my mother went thru her change in her early 40s but I am not ready for it to happen now !!! I am on CD 12 today (yes I know that's still early) but I have usually OV or am getting some lines on OPKs by now....I am also noticing some days EWCM and twinges then the next day dry and nothing.....will keep testing until CD15 which is latest time I have ever OVd but to be honest I am not hopeful.......

ITALIAN I remember you saying that Vitex screwed your cycle up and then AF went missing...I too took that for 2 cycles Nov and Dec and since then it's gone wrong do you think it could have been that ???

Oh dear Muchlove walks off scratching head and feeling just about groundlevel LOW ......
I am gonna get plastered tonight in the bar and then sing a sad Karaoke song and probably end up crying then pass out .......

xxxx

Curlylox · 02/02/2011 13:39

Please educate me on taking temp as thought you took it from cd1 not when af finished?

muchlove · 02/02/2011 13:41

Ok that last post took me sooo long to write that there have been about 10 new posts since, just read the update CURLY am sorry sweety really am..... xxx

BB Thats a good level isn't it ??? I thought anything over 15 denotes OV so you are double that..... I had a 21day bloods done on my very first BFP cycle and it was 65.8 and on another BFP cycle (the monitered one) it was 47.5 soooooo either way at least you are on the supps and if you had of taken them from OV your reading wouldnt have been as accurate as the supps wud have given a scewed reading..... when did you say you would test ??????
