Does anyone know what date/time the delivery slots will be out for Christmas eve online shopping? Thanks!

I don't, but it is a huge gamble leaving it that late as there is no chance for getting replacements for items which are out of stock.

MegBusset · 23/11/2008 11:52

From 30 Nov you can reserve a slot online for Xmas week (20th-23rd I think).

The slots go really quickly so you have to be quick if you want one for xmas week.

I always do a months shop and last xmas there was only 1 item missing from my order. Did time it so that I would have time to pop out in case anything important was missing. However we dont buy much over our usual shop and tend to get the meat in November for the freezer.

overthemill · 23/11/2008 12:05

i do it, book slot asap and use voucher code for free delivery. get it delivered 2 days before so you can top up what they've run out of and get in fresh stuff

BUT what we used to do was write up big list and my dh went out at 10pm on 22nd

geisha · 23/11/2008 13:23

Thanks MegB. Will certainly bare in mind the other comments about availabity of stuff. Plan is to send dad to local supermarket at 7am on xmas eve for veg and fruit and get the rest from Tesco. So he could get anything missing then. Do I need to stay up till midnight on the 30th then?

I reserved mine last week.

If you look at the script in the browser when you are on the 'book your slot' page it says something like 'week=3'. I changed it to week=5' and booked a slot. I did it last year too and it worked fine.

geisha · 23/11/2008 14:10

Ahh have just tried your trick but got the message I can only book for today at checkout?..........

geisha · 23/11/2008 14:15

Don't come looking for me on Christmas Eve if it doesn't turn up.....

VanillaPumpkin · 23/11/2008 17:35

Oh I could kiss you .
It worked for me too. 09-11 on the 23rd booked and confirmed via email. Yay! And still a morning to get any thing missed off via the self serve checkouts .

geordieminx · 23/11/2008 18:07

It doesnt work for me - it says you can only book for today at the checkout

I entered week 4 and everything {{{{{{{{stamps foot}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Just booked mine, judgenutmeg, I love you!

fruitful · 23/11/2008 19:07

Fantastic!

(you have to checkout without having chosen a delivery slot yet - then it asks you to choose a slot and then you change the week)

dutchmam · 23/11/2008 19:11

So glad I came across this thread, it worked as geisha said: first came today only then through check out it worked. Thank you JNM!

jenk1 · 23/11/2008 19:14

wonderful, have just booked mine for the 23rd,when is the last you can amend the order does anyone know?

judgenutmeg · 23/11/2008 19:39

You can usually amend orders the night before delivery.

I've never felt so useful.

jojosmaman · 23/11/2008 20:13

This is why I love mumsnet! Thanks Judge!

shoptilidrop · 23/11/2008 20:15

excellent - thanks so much - ive just booked mine for the monday.

AngeG · 23/11/2008 20:38

Thank you. Just booked mine as well

geisha · 23/11/2008 20:40

Absolutely Judge - I have aded about £50 of the obvious shopping to my order but will compile the complete list over the next week or so then add - already realise that I have forgotten brandy sauce but will add later. Dh said the tesco will get wise to this and stop it but I think that as long as they have paying customers it shouldn't be a huge issue?
